Three different ipods

My two daughters and my husband have different itunes accounts. When my husband plugs his ipod nano up to the computer it automatically deletes his playlist from his ipod and puts  my daughters play list on his, as well as my youngest daughters- the same thing happens. My husband does not want to share a playlist with them. My husband has an ipod nano, one daughter has an ipod shuffle and the other an ipod touch. We use our home computer. How can I stop this from happening?

Welcome to the Apple Community.
If you use 3 different iTunes accounts, you should each have a user account on the computer.

  • I have three different ipods with music on them and have had to replace our computer as it was in a fire. How can we combine the ipods into one ipod.

We had to replace our computer due to a fire and lost many of the fiels which were on them. Many were music files for the ipods, we have thre. Also, do not have ID's and passwords to the iTunes store.
How can we combine the information so that they are all in each one or at least compbine everything into one ipod?

Just so you know the method suggested by Nelsonleee will cost your $29.95 USD, Yamipod is free.

  • Multiple users with different Ipods on same computer

My household has one general computer that is used by myself and my two teenage daughters. We don't use separate logins because it is used mostly to just go online, check our email, and use Itunes along with updating our Ipods. This works fine for us except that we have different Ipods. My girls have the Ipod Mini's and I have the Ipod (with video screen).
My question is this: Can one computer (running WinXPProSp2)authorize two different Ipods under the same user name? Also, can two (or three) different Ipods be "authorized" on the same computer?

Yes, your not really authorizing ipods, you just authorize a PC to play songs you buy from iTUnes. Once its authorized all ipods can play the song that connect to it.
You can separate the music that is loaded to each iPod (Like your music only added to your ipod and your girls ipods only updating there music to there ipods) By creating your own playlist and setting the ipod to update them. Can you just create a new "Playlist", name it Bob Seger and drag what you want into the Playlist.

What is wrong with it?it won't charge when it's powered on only when it s off then it turns on and stops charging?? What's wrong with it ad how much is a Genius Bar appt at apple stores??

    Not Charge
    - See:
    iPod touch: Hardware troubleshooting
    - Try another cable. Some 5G iPods were shipped with Lightning cable that were either initially defective or failed after short use.
    - Try another charging source
    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

Unfortunately you've discovered too late how important it is to maintain an up-to-date backup of your iTunes library (and all other data of value).  You could, before wiping the drive, have considered making use of a commercial data recovery service that could (albeit at considerable cost) have extracted your library from the hard disk, even if virus infected.
In the absence of that option, you will need to restore the content of your library from its original sources:
Depending on your location, you may be able to re-download any iTunes Store purchases that are still available on the Store
Likewise, most digital purchases from Amazon (including auto-rip copies of purchased CDs) should be available from the Amazon Cloud and via the Amazon Music application - the same may be true of other commercial sources for digital downloads
Content imported from your CDs will have to imported again
The specific situation that you describe regarding the music imported from your friend's external HDD suggests that either the source is badly organized and/or originates from a source other than iTunes (other media players may use alternative tags for information like artist, title, album, etc. that are not wholly consistent with how iTunes handle these).  Without details of the issues you're seeing it is difficult to suggest a remedy other than going through the media album-by-album, track-by-track, and correcting the inconsistencies.
In the absence of a backup or access to the original library data there is no option other than painstakingly recreating your library as described above.  As you do so, you'll now realize how important creating and maintaining backups are - in my case I have at all times three separate duplicates of my library, in two different locations, where none is ever more than a week old compared to the content of my master library.

  • How many different iPods can I sync with my single iMac user/iTunes account?

    Good Day to All,
Can anyone tell me how many different iPods & iPhones can I successfully consistently sync/integrate using my one "user account" in iTunes on my iMac? This ist situation:
I have always (and only) synced etc. my iPhone with my one iTunes UID which is under my ONE "User Account" on my  iMac. Recently, my elderly folks gave me 2 iPods they have never used. One is a little silver 4GB shuffle (the little guy with a built on "belt clip" & it verbally tells you what song and artist is playing. The other is also an iPod shuffle ( only 1GB), also has the metal "pinch to open; belt clip"; also no display, however it came with a little USB Dock and THIS ONE has all of the user controls on the face of it in a circular patter of course..
To have COMPLETE successful "interaction/integration/syncing" etc (with no issues/complications etc) with my iTunes currently and previously only used with my iPhone, do I have to create two new additional "User Login/accounts" on my iMac (one for each iPod) to have all three if my devices work perfectly fine, or can I just use my same iMac login (UID) & iTunes that I use with my iPhone and have no worries?
(ie: I created my girlfriend her own iMac login UID which she has always used for backing up/syncing etc her iPhone with HER iTunes library etc)
In short, does iTunes have the ability to have multiple iPods & my iPhone under my one existing iTunes account AND using the same single iMac login/UID I've always used with my iPhone?
Obviously, I know I could create an iMac login for my mom's, another for my dad's & create them both their individual iTunes accounts, but they really don't want to have to worry about dealing with all that. I'm teetering between just treating them as my iPods and mixing/adding their limited CD's into my library (again, if iTunes allows multiple iPods etc as explained above..
OR; my other thought would be (again, if one iTunes account can integrate the two iPods as seperate devices and to just create ONE iMac UID login and ONE iTunes account under my dad's name, and use that one account for both of their music, both of their iPods, importing their CD's into the same iTunes library, then when syncing etc. just doing selective transfers/sync's of the specific music for each iPod... Even then, will iTunes be able to differentiate the two as far as backups/restored etc? I think  answering my own question as I type due to the cloud... For completely individual cloud interaction/integration, I would def need to create each of them their own iTunes accounts, otherwise they will have all of each other's songs on their devices.. (ie: And my dad def doesn't want to worry about skipping over my mom's Journey or Aerosmith tunes to get to his Willie Nelson and vice versa for example.
(Sorry sooooo drawn out; thinking outloud) I guess it seems obvious that since all their digital music has to be on my iMac, I really should create them each their own iMac UID login as well as their own individual iTunes Acounts to insure cloud services work easily for restores/backups etc...
Thanks for stumbling thru my thought processes here (if I didn't lose ya long ago); I'm exhausted and throwing thoughts at the classroom board to see what sticks.... The best easiest way that is.. (The two aren't always the same obviously!)
Thank you all for your precious time and consideration and most if all; YOUR PATIENCE!! Any confirmation if the options and suggestions are greatly appreciated. You know, gotta take care of the folks & what is the simplest for them as just end users is the most important or they'll NEVER bother with them in the end...
    Respectfully appreciative,
    DB

You can use as many iPods with one iTunes library as you want.

  • We have three different logins or accounts on our computer.  In the administrator's login, iTunes loads, syncs, and accesses the store fine.  On my two kids' logins, however, loading, syncing and acessing the store takes exponentially longer.  Any ideas?

We have three different logins or user accounts on our comoputer.  In the administrators' login, we have no trouble opening iTunes, syncing the iPod or accessing the store.  However, in my two kids' logins, getting iTunes to recognize the device, sync it, or access the store takes exponentially longer.
Does anyone have similiar trouble with this, and if so, do you have any suggestions?

I think this is an excellent indicator that not only is Palm reviewing the feedback from the support forums here, but actively reviewing feedback/comments/wishes on other sites as well.
As the original poster copied this (quite solid, IMO) wishlist from Pre Central, the palm support staff acknowledged first seeing it there.

  • Can I run two different ipods from the same laptop?

Hi, I am very new to all this. Is it possible to have two different ipods running from itunes on the same computer. If it is how do I separate them so when I connect and ipod it doesn't sync both lots of music.
    Please Help me
    Thanks
    Hoolie

I'm currently syncing three iPods to the same library. iTunes will recognize each iPod as a unique device. My preferred method of managing my iPods is "Sync Selected Playlists". This allows me the convinience of syncing (and all my ratings, playcounts and last played sync) while still being able to control what goes on each iPod. You can set your preferences for each iPod. You could managage one manually and sync the other. Whatever works best for you.

    Hi Imminnie,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.  If iTunes doesn't recognize your iPod touch, this article may help:

If issues persist, a thorough removal and reinstall of iTunes would be the next thing to try:

How am I able to use the same iTunes account on a different iPod?

By just using the same iTunes account.  If you set up the iPod on your computer just make sure that iTunes is signed your account.  Of settingup via wifi, just enter your existing account.  Do not create a new one.

  • How can we transfer games from ipod 4 to a different ipod 4

how can we transfer games from ipod 4 to a different ipod 4??

Follow the instructions here or here; using the first set of instructions then requires syncing the second device with the iTunes library containing the content. If you want to transfer the game data as well, perform a backup and restore.

  • I have three different data base regions

    Help is Greatly appreciated.
I have three different databases - development, QA and Production.
my requirement --I have to insert 20 new records  into "scott.PERMANENT" table
2)In the Developemnt,QA both regions in the "scott.PERMANENT" table , 3 records are already presnet in the above new 20 records. 3)In the Production database , i dont have any data and have to insert all of the records.
So inorder to insert the data i have to use the same script in all the regions meaning i have to iclude all the 20 new records in the insert script ,but based on the region name it should check and insert those records .
could anyone please kindly give me an idea how to check the region name and insert.
    Your help is kindly appreciated.

my requirement --I have to insert 20 new records  into "scott.PERMANENT" table  Don't create your own tables in Oracle-supplied schemas, such as SCOTT. Why not create your own schema?
2)In the Developemnt,QA both regions in the "scott.PERMANENT" table , 3 records are already presnet in the above new 20 records. 3)In the Production database , i dont have any data and have to insert all of the records.

If you're using Oracle 10 or higher, then you don't even need a WHEN MATCHED clause; if you only have a WHEN NOT MATCHED clause, it will simply ignore the rows that you said to add but already exist.
If the columns have unique constraints, you can also INSERT all the data, and use an error logging clause
I hope this answers your question.
If not, post a complete test script that people can run to re-create the problem and test their ideas.
    For example:
-- In all 3 databases, the permanent table looks like this:
    CREATE TABLE permanent ...
-- In Production, where it has no rows, I could populate it like this:
    INSERT INTO permanent ...
-- This is how I want the table to look in all 3 databases when everything is finished.
-- But in Development and QA, the table does have some rows already, like this:
    TRUNCATE TABLE  permanent;
    INSERT INTO permanent ...
-- What statement(s) would get the table to the finished state regardless of how it starts?Always say which version of Oracle you're using (e.g., 11.2.0.2.0).
