Hi!
Since I installed Lion (on day-one) the "Three fingers double tap to search" gesture doesn't work in both my mac. (I actived it in prefs panel!)
What can I do? Thak you!!!

The dictionary search function only works in some programs at this point. Try it in Safari or Mail.

Double-tapping on home button doesn't work

hi,
i've read on the net that double-tapping on the home button on the ipod touch 4th gen will properly exit an app, not just 'minimise' it, making sure that it isn't running in the background. but whenever i try this, all it does is return to the homescreen; then back 1 previous page of apps. how come it doesn't seem to work for me? the apps you recently used are supposed to come up on the 'recently used apps' page, or something, but it doesn't. is this supposed to happen?
i've also tried holding down the home button for about 5 secs, but that also doesn't work either. all it does is bring up the 'voice control' page. please help!

From what you see happening you are probably not double clicking quickly enough, I.e., your clicks are interpreted by the system as two separate clicks and not a double-click. Try speeding your action up.
When this is working a section at the bottom of the screen will open an show recently used apps. You can switch to one or if you hold an app icon for a bit "-" signs will appear with the icons and you can remove apps.
Also make sure that you are actually running iOS 4.

Can't use three-finger double tap zoom.

iPad 2 version 6.3.1.
Couple of days ago, I tried to use the three-fingered, double-tap zoom, but it didn't work. Now, being a middle-aged person, I like to use this feature. So, tried again. Didn't work. Double tapped all over the screen. Nada. Went to Settings > General > Accessibility > Zoom. Zoom was on. Turned it off. Turned it on. Didn't work. Turned it off; turned it on again. Nope. Turned off the iPad. Turned on the iPad. Nuh-uh. Turned on, turned off the iPad again. Nah. Tried triple tapping the Home button to turn Zoom off and on again. Zilch. (Ordinary double-tap enlarge works, and so does Pinch to Zoom.)
I'm almost ready to reset the iPad, but that is such a drastic step, I thought I'd try here first. Any thoughts?

So if you double tap with three fingers and drag up the amount of zoom will increase. If you double tabp with threed fingers and drag down the amount of zoom will decrease. It is possible to have so little zoom that it looks like none.
Is that possibly what you are experiencing?

It is unbelievable that "three fingers double taps" gesture doesn't work in Preview.
looking definition in dictionay is useful when reading PDF in preview, but I cann't get the pop up dictionay window by three fingers double tap a word.
I don't understand why apple miss such a useful feature in preview...

Magic Mouse - three finger double tap dictionary - not working

A three finger, double tap on my Magic Mouse will not activate a dictionary definition in any app. All other mouse gestures work fine. The keyboard combination for that feature works fine too. How can I get that three finger gesture to work?

No workaround so far with this problem and also no posts in the Opera forums. Just have to wait until Opera includes this functionality in their next release.
In the meantime you can help by joining the forum (takes a minute) and posting your concern. The more people that join and voice their complaint the faster something will get coded into their browser.

The gesture is just like any other Android phone. Like while closing an app by pressing the home button the icons seem like zooming in and falling back to their respective places. I have another query though. Is it possible to always logged into my Gtalk from iPhone? I am using an app called Gtalk Lite. But every time I double press the home button and swipe up the apps to close them from running in the background Gtalk lite logs me off. I have to log in to Gtalk lite again. I was looking for something like that happens on Android phones. You are always logged in even after you close them from running in the background. And also is it possible to log in to more than one gmail account on Gtalk in iPhone?

Search Bar doesn't work in normal itunes but works in safe mode

I am not sure if anyone else is having this problem but with Itunes 11.0.4 The Search bar doesn't work no matter what you type any result you get you click on it nothing happens. I recently went into Itunes Safe mode and the Search bar works fine. I really hope Itunes fixes this with the next update.

I've found a solution!
Uncheck the "search entire library" option in the search bar then check it again.

Three finger double tap not working

Since updating to iOS 5 on my iPhone 3GS, the Zoom feature has stopped working. (Actually, when I double tap with three fingers, the screen enlarges a few pixels.) Any ideas on how to get this feature back? So far, I've turned it on and off, rebooted the iPhone.

I don't really understand what the first part of your query is about. However: with respect to your query about uploading:
There are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto: You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Command-Click for selecting multiple pics.
(Note the above illustration is not a Finder Window. It's the dialogue you get when you go File -> Open)
You can access the Library from the New Message Window in Mail:
There's a similar option in Outlook and many, many other apps. If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
If you want to access the files with iPhoto not running:
For users of 10.6 and later: You can download a free Services component from MacOSXAutomation which will give you access to the iPhoto Library from your Services Menu.
Using the Services Preference Pane you can even create a keyboard shortcut for it.
For Users of 10.4 and 10.5 Create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use this free utility Karelia iMedia Browser
Other options include:
Drag and Drop: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
File -> Export: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
Show File: a. On iPhoto 09 and earlier: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected. 3.b.
b: On iPhoto 11 and later: Select one of the affected photos in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Reveal in Finder -> Original. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.

Double tap on locked screen doesn't bring up controls when no album art

I think this is a bug, can others confirm please? It's pretty easy to test. Using the iPod Touch 4th gen 32 GB with iOS 4.1. When playing music, and the screen is locked and turned off, double-tapping the home button brings up the music controls only when there is album art with the song. If there's no album art (only the home background shows, the controls don't come up with double-tapping. You have to triple-tap in this case (one to bring up the "slide to unlock" screen, and two to bring the music controls).

it's the same with iOS 4.2. Does this not annoy anyone else? Triple tap just to change songs is kind of annoying.

Annotating pdf documents in Preview - the text search feature doesn't work?

Hi everyone,
I'd like to annotate my pdf documents using preview. However, I realized the other day that as soon as I start annotating a document (with notes, shapes, highlighting, etc), the preview text search doesn't work anymore.

This is a known problem. I have seen one suggestion to print the annotated PDF as a new PDF in order to get search capability back. You can try the Apple Discussions "search" feature at the upper right corner to look for more suggestions.

Launchpad Gestures doesn't work after install Lion

Hey people, I have this problem, after install Lion all gestures works properly, but Launchpad and Show desktop doesn't work even with the option in the Trackpad enabled.

HT1338 On macbook MAIL the search function doesn't work?

On my macbook retina pro with latest updated softwares the search function in "MAIL" doesnt work. It is supposed to be pretty simple fucntion and on my iphone and othe rmail programs it works fine. However once i type anything in "Search bar" at top right then inbox goes empty and nothing appears. Whereas the search bar gives options of sveral email names etc, even if i select one. It doesn't work.

Which search function do you mean?
*searching via the location bar (pref: keyword.URL)
*search bar on the Navigation Toolbar
*search bar on the about:home page (pref: browser.search.defaultenginename)
*other search bar (e.g. added by extension)
Is this about the about:home page?
If there is a problem with searching via the default about:home page then try to reset the search engine used on the about:home page.
Reset the browser.startup.homepage_override.mstone pref via the right-click context menu to the default on the about:config page and close and restart Firefox to restore the about:home page to its default.

If this didn't help then delete the delete the chromeappsstore.sqlite file in the Firefox Profile Folder and repeat the above.
You can use the SearchReset extension to reset some preferences to the default values.

The shuffle control shows up when you touch the screen in album view. This brings up the scrubber bar, repeat control and shuffle control. The shuffle control appears as crossed arrows. When it is blue it is On. When it is white it is Off.

Since upgrade to iOS 7.1 yesterday when I double tap to close apps nothing happens

For whatever reason, this problem has gone away by itself. All back to normal. I have no idea why.
