Free Skype Calling on The iPhone?

I'm wondering since Skype is an online application and therefore uses internet resources, if I can make calls through Skype for free?
I wouldn't think this to be a problem since Skype is easily available online and the iPhone has Safari. Then i'm assuming I'd be able to make a call through Skype thanks to the fact the iPhone has a microphone.
I've been watching videos on YouTube of people doing this through some site called "SoonR".
I would think this all does not break any rules while using the iPhone, I don't want to break any rules here.
But I see this as a great thing to do: making skype calls to landlines and mobiles through my Skype account.
Obviously this makes me ask the only question I need to ask: Would making Skype calls through my iPhone use my ATT minutes?
*I'd assume not since I'm using Skype through my Safari Internet.

SOONR actually calls you back on your IPHONE to complete the call, therefore your are using yor minutes. I use SOONR for international calls - then I only get "charged" as local minutes

Skype calls to landline: recipient costs

Hi, I have purchased a subscription to make Skype calls to Belgium from my PC at home in South Africa. The recipient's telephone bill has now shown a significant increase. Are there costs for the landline recipient? I don't remember seeing anything about this when I subscribed. Thanks, Marc.

I bought a ipod at target and the screen shatered after three months who do i call about the warranty ?

i bought my ipod 5 g on october 26 2013 three months later it shatered because a bowel fell on it and its cracked every where on the screen . the screen has lines a 4 white boxs on it and can not be used . i was wondering if thier was a warrenty on it and for how long ? if thier is who can i talk to to get it repared ?

unless you have apple care you cannot get it fixed but you can get credit to buy another one, you could find a local company to replace the screen on your ipod but that would cost $100 plus, but this will void the ablility to trade it in later

I recently subscribed to a free 30 day trial and I do not see the Bahamas listed as one of the places that can be called. Is the Bahamas a location that is included in this trial?

Skype call to India

Hi, Since I am from India I am not able to make any call to Indian mobile and landline numbers. I found the below message in the help section. As of 10 November 2014, if you are in India, calling from Skype to mobiles and landlines within India will unfortunately no longer be available.This change only affects Skype calls to landlines and mobiles; you can still make free Skype-to-Skype calls within India, and you can still call mobiles and landlines in India from outside the country (as well as make calls from India to other countries) You can also use any Skype Credit you currently have to use Skype WiFi or to send SMS messages to your contacts. Next week I will be travelling to US and I might need to make some calls to Indian landline and mobile numbers from the US airport. As per the above message by skype I will be able to make calls to Indian numbers from outside India. My question is, if I am at a place outside India how will Skype know that I am calling from outside India ? Do I need tochange any region settings or any other settings in my mobile or profile. Skype to Skype calls won't connect, to phones will

I developed a problem with Skype sometime last week. I can connect Skype to phone lines using credits with no problem. I cannot, however, connect Skype to Skype calls. I can send a contact request, see when it is accepted, and exchange sms messages with the contact. However when I attempt to call the contact, or when they attempt to call me, the call hangs up on "connecting" and the other party never sees it coming in to be answered. Later, however, the missed call will appear in the call history.This does not happen with every attempted skype to skype call, but most of them. Skype and Windows 8 updates were run recently before the problem started happening. The other contacts have various versions of Windows including 10, 8 and lower (and unknown.) All Skype calls to landline or mobile numbers are completing as normal. Have tried disabling all firewalls, making sure skype is on the allowed list with firewalls, uninstalling and reinstalling, checking every possible setting we can think of. I'm stumped, my company's helpdesk is stumped, really need to find a fix for this.

Hi,I have received an email saying that I can have free Worldwide calls for one month. I am going to Tunisia at the end of April and want to ring UK every day because my parents both have cancer.So if I use my UK mobile phone in Tunisia to ring a UK landline number will it be completely free? or will I have to pay a rate per minute. I can't believe it'll be completely free. In fact if the calls don't have to be paid for, at £8.49 a month it'll be worth doing every time I go on holiday. Thanks in advance

Hello, I moved to Amsterdam recently and the "pay as you go" plan is now not practical.I attempted to sign up for Unlimited World calls to landline and mobiles but when I selected Free trial button, I received a message that the offer expired or is not available to my skype login. I only have one Skype login.I just signed up for Premium service thinking maybe I need to do this first, then I can upgrade to Unlimited World but that didn't work either.How can I sign up for Unlimited World? I don't care about the free trial, I want to sign for a monthly subscription that best meets my current international mobile and landline calling needs. Thanks for you helpNancy

Free world calling for 1 Month - mobiles ?

I got the free calling plan for 1 month and tried to call a mobile overseas. It did not work but wanted me to buy some extra skype credit...if it said "free calling to mobiles and landlines" how come i cannot call ? (It is to an I-phone - don't know if it matters..anyone have an idea ?

Free skype to go with monthly subscription

Hi how can I change my 'free skype to go number' I'm subscribe with monthly subscription. The thing is My friend has her own skype account and also me then we are both subscribe to 400min monthly subscription (Philippines) and we are here in Singapore. We have the same 'free skype to go number' but diffirent skype account and we are using one common the same Home Landline number. I just wonder how will skype know which is which to charge. Your Subscription covers calls to Greek landlines. Calls to other countries and/or phone types (e.g. cellphones) require either a Subscription which includes those call types OR Skype Credit.

One Month Free Phone Calls.

I have applied for free phone calls and have received confirmation that I have a free one
month subscription. However when I dial a number it is rejected and I am requested to
first pay a suscription . Why? My Skype name is warwick.krige.

OFFICE 365 and SKYPE free world calls free

I have office 365 and activated to skype free calls it shws i have a subscribtion and 60min free but when i try to call first my credis were gone and after that it shows that i have to buy more credits.
When i try to buy once more credits it shows that i allready have this subscibtion.
Whats wrong? Are you people working on this or not? How to use my 60 min free??????????

Your account shows that you were attempting to call a Lithuania cellphone. Your free minutes are for calls to landlines only. To call cellphones you need to purchase Skype Credit.

Please take a look at the introduction page "What is Skype" which explains all the free Skype features. Calling Skype to Skype, both video or just voice, are free. Just keep in mind that you need a internet connection (either WiFi or mobile internet) on your Android device which might come with a price tag.
Those Skype-to-Skype calls are free regardless of whether you are in the same country or tens of thousands of kilometers apart on the other end of the world

Infact network also good at that time.Not sure about the problem.
I contacted AT n T also and explained about the problem, They suggested to monitor few more days...whether it is real network issue or not. But I am very sure it is NOT network issue because one day I was waiting for my brother at my office open parking space, And i called my brother whether he is ready at his place so that i can go and pick him, but he told it takes sometime...and he told, he will call in 15 mins, So i was at the same location (NOT even moved 1 inch also ), just sitting and listening music and after 30 mins, I called him back and asked Still not ready, then he replied he was trying me from last 15 mins and it is going to voice mail , I got similar complaint from others as well. Today also my cousin called my landline and asked Is your phone switched off ? because i was trying to reach you but it is going to voice message, I saw the signals at that time, Signal strength is very good. I think there is some problem in Iphone5 may be LTE or something.
Taking phone to next levels is good, But it should NOT hamper it's basic phone functionality ( Make calls, receiving calls, Voice mail etc ). Please let me know if any fix for this.

You say it started on yours after upgrading to iOS 8. I've been on iOS 8.0 for quite some time and only recently did this issue spring up.
The one thing I haven't tried is downgrading it back to iOS 7 (which would be a shame, but if it's the only answer...)
I'll get back to you once I've tried that.
