Thsi is not really a question. It is a statement on prn to pdf.

Adobe should inform everyone who has an older machine. to NOT upgrade to reader X because it saves ALL pdf formats as a prn.
Even if you choose 'save as' as PDF in the menu.
All you have to do is uninstall Reader X and reinstall 8.5.
SUPER FRUSTRATING,  Acrobat nerds, and not cool!!!!!
Not everyone in this economy can afford a new computer.
I have XP SP3.
SO FYI to everyone in MY boat.
If READER asks if you want to update....DONT!!!!

I totally understand where Kym is coming from.  I never had this happen until recently, now Adobe saves everything as a .prn file.  Same as Kym I do not have the option to not saave as .prn, and I Do have my printer showing.
I believe Adobe is missing the point here, sometimes I do not want to save a copy, I just need to print an invoice for  my records.
Why should I have to go into advanced mode every single (darn) time to do something I was able to do without the extra steps.  You (Adobs) are not making it easier, you are making it harder.  Please change this back.
I run windows 7 on  a Dell Opitplex 390.  I have also noticed on my MacBook Pro (running OSX 10.6) at home, that I have to actually hit ctrl and click on a pdf now to download it, or the page online does not display - equally annoying.  I could also mention that I don't understand why you never made the tools for Illustrator and Photoshop the same, but now I'm really ranting...)
Bottom line - change it back!

  • This Is Not Really A Question

Well Apple this is just a suggestion. Wouldnt it be cool if our pictures could be a slide show like when you are on your pictures and you press and hold the arrow button and it starts making the pictures pass by really fast. Can u make them into a wallpaper slideshow like a constantly moving wallpaper. i think it would be really cool if u put it in the next update. i took lots of pictures of myself and i held the right arrow and i saw my pictures going by really fast and it looked like i was talking with no sound and it looked kind of like a really short video. this is a suggestion so you can put it in your next update for the Ipod Touch ios 4.3.6 if you wanted to. can u at least think about putting it in the the next update please and thank you

  • This is not really a question. I just wanted to say thank you.

I just want to say "Thank you." to Phillip for answering my question about the programs that downloaded when I downloaded Firefox. I could find any place else to say thank you, so I'm doing it here. Thank you, Phillip.

Closing thread because it is not a question.

  • This is not really a question but just a highlight. I have been for 20 minutes on the phone through the express lane support and I have been told that iCloud DO NOT stores music or video and cannot be used to pushes any music you bought through iTunes !

I have been amazed from the Express Lane support. I have been asking information about how to store/push my iTunes music in the iCloud. The answer has been that iCloud DO NOT stores you iTunes music at all !!!!! Is this real ?
I am Mobileme user since the beginning and just bought OS X Lion and all necessary software to maximise the use of iCloud and now I have to discover that what has been advertised for months on the web is just ballsheets.

Wow!  It took you 3 week to come up with that ridiculous response?
Since I don't have access to the 11/13 web pages (my time machine is out of order), I can't provide that.  However you know full well that iTunes Match has been live for the last 3 weeks, and it isn't "ballsheets."
As far as the "gift you may have to spend too much time on internet", it took you far longer to compose and post your whining rant that it would have if you just searched it with Google and got your own answer...

  • Not really a question just a funny observation with shares and Finder

I was messing around with the new feature of automatically showing computers with shares in the side bar of finder. One question I do have about this is there anyway to have finder show more about the specific computer I select information on? For example, I right clicked a Windows 2000 server that was automatically showing up and finder told me the computer was a PC however all of the other data was blank. The funniest part about it though was the picture it assigned to the preview of the Windows 2000 server. It just displays a PC with a BSOD lol. Here's a link to the picture.
    http://www.soggypickle.com/link.php?id=375&cat=Technology

What information would you like to see? If you mount a share on that server, go into Computer (Command-Shift-C) and select the share you just mounted and open an Info Window to it, you should get a bunch of info.

  • Not really a question- just fyi the 4.0 version is no longer compatible with Indexhibit (a website template program).

I can no longer up load images into the backend of my site that I built with Indexhibit. The previous version worked. I'm able to get it done with Chrome but would like to keep everything in Firefox if possible.
Thanks for an otherwise great browser!

    sorry, I forgot: indexhibit.org

  • & nbsp; and pre Question: OT- Not Really a DW Thing

I posted a question on this a couple of weeks ago.  The poet that I'm building this site for makes pictures with words and does so using spaces and returns.  It means that depending on the editor she uses, we end up with awful looking code absolutely chocka with <br />, or <p>'s and these  s.  Anyway, the nett result from the discussion previously was to use the <pre> element which, handily is offered as an option in the wordpress post editor.
So now I have decided to go with <pre> as a container for the picotpoems, I'm still a little confused.
If the poet uses Notepad and cut's and pastes into the Wordpress editor she can introduce a million   characters but if I reproduce the poem and strip all that out, and add the spaces in teh wordpress editor I don't see any   characters and the code looks a lot cleaner.  Incidentally, so far, I only see them using Firebug and the view source option in FF and IE8 don't show them.
Here's the poet using Notepad: http://www.pictopoetry.co.uk/2011/01/whip-lash-2/
Here's my version typed direct: http://www.pictopoetry.co.uk/2011/01/whip/
Both poems indicate adult content: They are not really Adult, just a bit er... suggestive.
    Here are my questions:
    Is either way better?
Am I losing sleep needlessly worrying about those  s
Why does Firebug show them and Veiw>Source in the browser doesn't
    Thanks
    Martin

Firefox's Web Developer Toolbar allows you to edit HTML code that is inside the <body> tags and your CSS files.

When you get things how you want them.  Copy the code and paste it into Notepad, NoteTab or some other plain text editor.

  • Pivot not working; Analytics question

I got a lot done this past weekend on tough query for me but now have more questions. You must run the top query to understand the understand the second.
    Background:
This is a period to date report which includes amounts from beginning of the year as well as last year.
My example Report is for Period 9 which begins on Aug 24, 2009
    Period has 5 weeks (Most periods have 4) ;
Also if period is requested in Week 3 then only weeks 1 and 2 will be reflected on report
The report looks like this: (Data provided should produce these numbers except for maybe the YTD column.

My challenge over weekend was to get entire year of data vs. just the period data.
There are 7 columns on this report. 5 weeks of period, PeriodToDate (total of the weeks) and YearToDate (PeriodToDate + Sum of all data from beginning of year to the end of the previous period.
I'm not really concerned with the PTD, the program can handle that. I got the BOY date with the following code:
All data is summed for the week and grouped by storeid and TRUNC(date, 'IW') which is the Monday of each week.
of each week. (The resultset contains data for 2 stores instead of 1. This is there only to make sure my query was filtering correctly)

    Analytics:
Boneist gave me some code to try last week:
    Combining refCursors  and Summing
    that created the PTD column.
I could never get it to work because I was tweaking so much with the Query but is there a way to get the PTD without
having to add an extra PTD column for each week.
    One other thing:
I would like to know how to use analytics to roll up report by division into a different cursor.

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

  • Edge keeps resetting composition size ( not really responsive experiment )

    Hello all,
This is more a question to the adobe edge animate team i guess rather than the community.
I recently had to do a project in adobe edge animate. I noticed the scale/responsiveness/resize is not really fitting my requirements, so i decided to tweak the resizing a bit. I wanted to achieve a fully responsive layout starting from x:0,y:0 ( top-left ), so the composition is always shown at 100% width & height.
The problem with the current animate scaling is that , it always has blank/white spaces on the sides. Even if using the BOTH option in the composition settings it always fits( scale ) the content just by one of the dimensions( the bigger fitting one ). It would be either by height or by width , but not both. The other dimension is compensated with blank space.
I made it work. Here's the demo. It's not completed and not sure if it will be because.. When the stage/composition loads, stars resizing(drag) the window. You'll notice that the stage resizes correctly and all of a sudden a smile starts appearing on anyone face, but unfortunately every time a user clicks a button ( or any action is executed ) the runtime resizes the main app again to it's original dimensions, breaking the fullscreen resize. For example , click on the black button NEXT , and you'll see the stage resized again with the edge resize logic
I'm attaching my resize logic immediately after the resizing of the edge animate( binding it to the window resize ), that's why everytime a user resizes the window the resize is correct. The aspect ratio is preserved everywhere and everything works as I wanted, but for some strange reason for me everytime an action ( timeline action/trugger ) , or even a button action/trigger, the resize logic block is executed.
So i guess my questions are:
1.Why does edge animate resize the wrappers and the composition everytime an action is executed ? Isn't this also a performance problem?
2.is there a way to stop this behaviour. I even made the composition non responsive hoping for even better result. In this case only my logic would be executed instead of two times for each resize event ( edge resize & my resize )
3.Is there any way to overload the edge resize method or any way to make this work( stop animate to resize the stage and wrappers for every action )
4.Also.. currently there is a resize initially so the stage is also resized on first view without resizing the window. but again i guess, because there are actions in my stage they are resetting the first resize aswell. I guess this one will not be a problem if the previous issue can have a workaround somehow.
    Thanks a lot..

    Hi Dalex,
    1. You need to know that Edge animate handles the responsive scaling by using css scaling the stage div element along X and Y axes by the same amount so that the aspect ratio is maintained. And that's the reason, when you apply responsive scaling value to both, Edge checks which of the attribute (height or width) fits the whole screen, and depending upon that it applies the scaling with aspect ratio maintained.
    2. By looking at the demo, I think that you want to have responsive scaling such that the game fits the whole screen along width and height. If I am thinking right, then that way, I think it will have a bad user experience if the user resize the window more in one direction, then you will loose the aspect ratio.
    3. So, what I would recommend is that you use "responsive scaling"=> "height or both", and "Center Stage"=>"horizontal or both". This way you'll have empty white space on either side but will have good user experience. Also, this way, you no longer need to use any extra code to handle responsive scaling yourself, and responsive scaling will work even after clicking buttons(as in your case).
    4. But still, if you don't like step#3, then you will have to create the whole anomation in Edge with units as "%" instead of "px". But in your case, it won't look good if user resizes browser window more in one direction.
Let me know if that helps.

  • A really easy question...I think.

    Hi everyone,
I have turned the internet inside-out looking for a simple
tutorial on this and so far I think they have all taken me kind of
a long way around. Basically what I want is text/photos/buttons/
    inside the
    box that are
"scrollable" without having to scroll left or right. My Flash
document is 800x533px. I've tried doing the whole ScrollPane thing
going through about 5 tutorials with different methods but it says
I have to do New Symbol/Movie Clip and the so-called "stage" that
you construct the movie on doesn't allow you to change dimentions
as far as I know. I can only change the dimensions of the main
Stage and the ScrollPane. I feel like this is a simple task so any
help would be greatly appreciated. I apologize if this is a stupid
    question. Thanks everyone.

I have not been able to dig this out, but I have a vague
    memory of there
being an URL parameter you could pass to a page to allow it
    to run longer.

Yes the Mac can read that drive but you would need to Copy the data off of it to the Mac as apposed to Move, which implies Deleting them from the drive as they were transferred from the external to the Mac. Since the Mac can Not Write to NTFS drives it can't Delete anything as that is really a Write operation, IE Making changes to the NTFS formatted drive.
Once you have that Data on Both your New Mac and you Older Windows PC you can format that drive to work on both system.
If you want to and plan on doing that post back and I'll explane how, it is simple but should be done on a Windows PC.
If you only plan on using it on the Mac from now on that is fairly simple also and is done on the Mac, Once you have the files from it stored on the Mac.
Yes you could burn those photos to DVD but that is just a waste of DVDs, you don't need to.

  • I'm not really a computer guy.Just got a Kodak easy share camera. When I  import the photos, they go to the area with my name in a file with the date. How can I move them to iphoto, or even better, import them directly to iphoto??

I'm not really a computer guy. I just got a Kodak"easy share" camera. When I import the photos they go to the section with my name in a folder. How do I get them from there to iphoto, or better yet, how can i import them directly to iphoto?? As stated, I'm not knowledgable, have an imac and need real rudimentary direction.

in the iPhoto preferences be sure the action when camera is connected is open iPhoto
What program are you using to import the photos?
If they are in a folder you can drag that folder onto the iPhoto icon in the dock to import - our launch iPhoto and under the file menu import from that folder
For real rudimentary directions try the iPhoto tutorials - and it would be a worthwhile investment of time to take the iphoto tutorials - http://www.apple.com/findouthow/photos/ - they are very helpful and will save you a lot of time and frustration. for the concepts - actual commands mya have shanged in some cases - and under the iPhoto help menu ==> iPhoto help - watch the videos there

some of my contact names are not appearing when they text message me.  They are just showing up as their numbers. I have them saved in my phone so i am not really sure why their names aren't showing up when they message me?

I have this identical problem.  For a while my group texts didnt show up on my ipad.  Then one day they did, maybe everyone in the group started using the same os version or something.  Ever since my first reply to the group there have been complaints of multiple threads.  I can not find a pattern for when my group text's decide they want to create a new thread. (it doesnt happen every time)  Everyone in the group has deleted the thread, we've all toggled imessage on/off etc.  There still hasn't been a solution.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks
