Thumbnail appears but no image in the display field

I have downloaded several photos from the same Canon camera into Image Browser (software that comes with the camera) and I have imported them into iPhoto 6 but only some appear in the display area for editing etc. They all appear as thumbnails in the upper field. The ones that wont display when double clicked show a grey field with dotted white square and ominous exclamation mark! If there is some explanation that goes with this in iPhoto I can't find it. How do I get the images to work?

Assuming that you haven't changed things in the iPhoto Library Folder, and rebuilding doesn't work, try downloading iPhoto Library Manager and rebuilding with it. You can read about it here:http://homepage.mac.com/bwebster/iphotolibrarymanager.html
You could also try to force rebuild the iPhoto cache by going to Home / Library /Caches and delete the iPhoto Folder there.
However, if none of these work, then you may have a seriously corrupted database. In that case, you'll need to create a new library and start from scratch. To rebuild the library: move the iPhoto Library Folder to the desktop
Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
Go into the iPhoto Library Folder on your desktop and find there the Originals folder. From there drag the individual rolls to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library Folder on your desktop.
In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.

Try this: select one of the photos that are showing the wrong title and use the Photos ➙ Batch Change ➙ Title to File Name menu option.
See if that will put the name that you want under the thumbnail.

Using a devices camera and adding the image to the display list

My students and I have not been able to make an AIR app that can take a picture using the devices camera and then add the image to the display list. We are able to open the devices camera and of course take a picture, but that's it.
We've been using these two tutorials/examples:

Do I have to add the picture to the cameraroll in order to add it to the AIR apps display list?
Both examples from Adobe claim that their examples work. Do they not?
In the example, the event handler asyncImageLoaded is never called. The output text field shows -   result_txt.text = "Asynchronous media promise."; So the Event.COMPLETE is being added. But I don't think it's being dispatched.
Any ideas?

I had the same or similar problem after installin iTunes 11 on my Acer Laptop with Vista. The new iTunes ran but I
completely lost access to my CdRom/DVD drive. Error Code 19 was displayed in Windows Device Manager. Found out
this is more widespread of a problem than expected. After trying several forum recommended fixes, the Only thing that gave me back my CdRom drive was doing a Windows Restore to a date prior to iTunes 11 install. I got my drive back but it also restored me to the prior 10.0.7.21 vers of iTunes which no longer worked due to missing files. iTunes help
recommended a Reinstall. I am reluctant to do that for several reason. That's where I am at for now until I find out if there are any other risks for using iTunes 11 vs. Registry Errors vs. Losing access to my CdRom drive. Brad

First reboot the iPad by pressing and holding down the home and sleep/wake buttons (power) at the same time until the apple logo appears on the screen, then let go.
If that doesn't work then reset the phone by going to settings/general/reset/reset all settings

A few weeks ago, my Macbook pro(A1212) stopped displaying. It only showed a white screen, but you could get the display via an external monitor. A friend looked at it and we discovered a burnt Mosfet (SI3443DV) which was item Q9400 on the motherboard. He went and changed it but it only displayed for less than 5 minutes and it went back to the white screen. would you please advice on what to do since i am not in a financial position to take it for repairs at the apple store?

Forget it.
1: If it was tampered with, then it doesn't qualify for warranty or AppleCare.
2: Repairing it will incur a new expensive logicboard, because that's how they do things. Swap parts out.
3: No money, means no Mac.

Apple (and no one else) can not assist (with serial number or iCloud) in finding a lost or stolen iPad.
Report to police along with serial number. Change all your passwords.

Can we enhance the display fields of any iView?

Hi,
I have developed ItemDetail iView in SAP Enterprise Portal
In SAP MDM ItemDetail iView, we can display fields which are available from the MDM Template iView when it is connected with MDM System Object and MDM System alias.
Now, once the iView is created we can edit the iView and also add and hide some of the display field from the iView but we can't add any new display field which is not available
in the SAP MDM iView Template and i think this applies to any iView like SAP Web Dynpro iView.

click and hold on one cell, then drag to select the range, then release, then type the delete key. Only inlude cells in the range you do not want to keey the contents of the cell. You can remove one-off cells by holding the command key and clicking cells to add or remove as needed.

How can I modify the display field names on the output port of my bi query

Hello,
I integrate my bi query in the visual composer storyboard.
Then I click on my output port of the query and see the output fields.
The display field names are very strange.
For example:
ABZCNQMDOPWJGHS1Q5Q27090
I have never save such a field name while I create my query in the query designer.
Have somebody an idea, where I can modify my displayed field names??

Hi Thomas,
the cryptical names are the technical names of your query components. If there is no decription available (depends also on your portal language) then the technical names are displayed. Check your portal language in your user settings and then check if you have entered a description in the query designer for this language.

I have a macbook pro with lion os. and i want to connect it to my optoma dlp projector. when i connect through a mini display to vga adapter in MBP it detects as OPTOMA XGA but no image on the screen.

i have a macbook pro. i want to connect it to projector and i have a minidisplay to vga adapter. i could connect my MBP to benq projector successfully and for all other displays( Monitors). but when i connect it to optoma projector, MBP detects the display as OPTOMA XGA but nothing on bigger screen. i tried changing the resolution and refresh rate also but no changes.
In my office we got benq projectors , for that it is working very well.(plug and play).
and also i want to say that there is no problem with the optoma projector seems, because all other windows laptops are working well with that.
i was struggling with this since one month. i googled it could not find anything supportive for my problem. please help me regarding this. i am new to apple. i hope there must be genius around here.

I need to know which MacBook Pro you have. Only mid-2010 and later MBP's transmit sound through MiniDisplay Port to HDMI. I have no information about the Mac Pro, so you might want to go to that Forum and ask there.

Problem adding an image to the display list

I'm trying to create a component to add images to a Panel (id=hbox). I seem to be loading the images successfully (because the trace statement works), but can't add them to the display.
I'm using the following line of code, but getting an error:
hbox.addChild(event.currentTarget)
What am I doing wrong?

You cannot add an image directly like that... why not dot the following

hpefully it should work.. i'v neva seen image being added to the hbox like that... it will work only if you embed it / put it in source element..

I would appreciate some help with the following problem:
SYMPTOMS: Screen is black, but I can see that there is a faint image in the background.
I get a good image in external monitor.
I suspect, _among others_, that there may be a faulty *lid sensor/switch*, but I have been unable to locate it, although I have disassembled the unit.
If somebody knows, please let me have the exact *location* where I should look for the switch.

You are probably right, it is likely that the inverter is faulty, or it might be a bad lamp.
Nevertheless, I cannot exclude the possibility that there is a bad or stuck lid switch. That is why I insist to check that one out as well.
I would still like to know where the lid switch is located on the L40.
