Thumbnail Captions for Flash Web Galleries

Oh I do love Lightroom!
However... :)
My clients occasionally are going to be wanting to refer to a certain image number and I would love to have a Lightroom Flash Web Template that included the file name near the thumbnails for reference. Anyone know how I might do this? Take it slow, I am a noob with the coding and whatnot.
Thanks!

Erik,
I have the same question/problem. I do need the second link or ability to enlarge one of the posed image. Have you found the answer?

  • Web link for id plate for flash web galleries

I've created a number of html galleries, where you have the ability to make your id plate a link- very useful as this can link back to a main page with links to other galleries. This is pretty straightforward for HTML:
My problem, however, is that the flash galleries do not have this option for some reason! I don't see a way to make the id plate into a link for flash galleries under the web export...
I don't even mind going back after exporting to my local computer and adding in a link... but I am not proficent with flash, and don't know where to add it.... the index.html that is created as the home page of the web gallery didn't include anything I could edit... I guess flash buries things a bit and its harder to edit it manually....
Any help in allowing a link to be made from the id plate for flash galleries would be greatly appreciated...
    thanks,
    Erik

  • Make CS4 Bridge flash web galleries customizable

A few of the flash web galleries allow the addition of metadata. But you can not select the content. I need to be able to add the "description" to my images. This is a simple but vital function that was easily available in the older HTML galleries.
Please add it to the flash-based galleries!

They stripped it from the token HTML gallery as well. Everyone seems to agree that the few web galleries included have been dumbed down and it does not seem to allow for third party galleries.

  • How can I add captions to CS4 Web Galleries?

I need to create an image slideshow on a website, something I have never done before, and Bridge CS4 seems to offer a useful selection of Web Galleries. However, the standard Web Galleries only seem to display the filename (whether you like it or not) and do not appear to offer any captioning facility.
Am I missing something? Without the ability to add my choice of multiline captions, the Bridge Web Galleries are not much use to me. If there is no way to modify these galleries to add captions can anyone suggest an alternative solution, ideally at zero or minimal cost?
    David

    David,
The caption options in the Bridge web gallery feature are limited. You can specify titles, captions, and descriptions that appear on every page of a gallery, and you can choose to display filenames, cell numbers, or all metadata for individual images in some templates. Otherwise, the templates do not display unique captions with individual images. Documentation is at
Create a web photo gallery with Adobe Output Module.
The web photo gallery feature from Photoshop CS3 is now an optional plugin for CS4. I believe some of those templates have some additional caption options. You can find out about downloading and using the optional plugin at
    Creating web photo galleries.
If you'd like to make a feature request, go to www.adobe.com/go/wish.

  • Help: Controlling transitions in flash web galleries from CS4/Bridge

    Hi all,
Is there a way to control the transitions from one image to the next when generating a flash web gallery? I'm using CS4/Bridge on WinXP.
The fade out/in from one image to the next is very chunky, no matter what the file size.  And that's on my local copy before I've uploaded it to the web.
I also haven't found a way to generate web galleries from within CS4 itself (looked at file/automate, as well as window/output, but nothing obvious in either location).
    Many thanks for your help!
    j

Your procedures are correct. The pertinent features have been moved from PS to Bridge. You can use the old method by finding the respective scripts on your install DVD's Extras section (or downloading them). Regarding transition performance and speed I don't think you can do anything. that is solely determined by the Flash template used for that and if you have no way of creating your own ones, there doesn't seem much point in even worrying about things you may not be able to change. Use it or loose it, if you allow me to put it that way. You can however certainly find enough other gallery tools on the web, they may just require you to change your approach and learn some basic web design stuff...

  • Index file missing from flash web galleries

    Hi All,
I usually make a flash web gallery for my clients to view and select from online. For some reason now I can't get the web module to work correctly. It is acting a little funny from the start but mainly when I export it creates the file without the index file in it. I have version 1.4.1 and 2 beta. The problem is the same in each.
I am on a Mac Pro quad core 2.8GHz with 6GB ram and two hard drives with lots of free space. I hope that is relevant.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Sincerely,
    Keith

  • Posting multiple Lightroom flash web galleries

I am trying to create multiple Lightroom galleries for my web
page, but i keep getting the same set of images in the different
galleries. I am using Frontpage 2003 and would like to know if there is
something I need to do to direct the hyperlinks to the different
    galleries and image sets.

This problem most likely wont happen when it is running off of a server.
So upload it to your server and test it, but it should be fine.

  • Export small size images (for may web galleries thumbnails)

    Hi,
when I export versions whith the preset I create (jpg 100 pixels) the lower size file created is 50KB!!!??? also with "0" JPG quality (max compression) and a very small quality (not usefull for me). If I try whith the same images version exported to "Aperture web gallery", the thumbnails are exported in 4-8 Kb size for 100x62 pixels and a good quality!!!
But I have my ASP pages and DB on the web and every week I have to publish 3-4 new galleries and 2-3 slide show. All is presetted, and I only have to export thumbnails and large images and upload them via FTP on my web server.
I bought Aperture in order to be able at the end of my workflow, to export in a folder and directly upload my images and thumbnails without using another application like now! Any experience?
(Master files are Canon .CR2 and export is setted at 72 DPI, 100 x 100 pixel, without adjustement, only file are renamed vith a 3 digit counter.)
I also whould like to know what is the requested knowledge to realize a plug-in with Aperture SDK?
Many thanks.(sorry for my english language)

    Hi,
after posted my first question, I have noticed that a very strange things occurs to the aperture exported jpg files. I'm veryy new with MAC and i'm working on both MAC and WIN systems; when I copy from Mac to Win the folder where file were exported from Aperture, I see a double serie of file: the first one is the regular namefile.jpg and a second kind of file named "._namefile" (012.jpg and ._012).
The first can be used and distribute also in win systems, and is very smaller in size than the orginal created by Aperture; the second is always around a size of 50-60 Kb and is not know by win systems. The sum of the two files seem to be the size of the original MAC/Aperture created file!?
So, in win sys, a 150x100 pixel file is about 6-8 Kb (exactly what I'm expecting from it), and on Mac the same file is 60 Kb!!?? A MAC file of 480 x 320 pix at medium quality is about 140 Kb, but it is 80-90 Kb when copied on a win system (the correspondant ._nomefile is always around 50-60 >Kb size.
You know why and how can I obtain optimized files for web from Aperture?
    Many thanks.

  • LR3 64 Bit - Not loading Flash Web Galleries

I recently upgraded to Win7 64bit and bought the 64bit version of LR3.
Unfortunately, LR won't load any flash galleries and just gives me a blank screen without any preview.
    Screenshot:
    http://www.andyhuddartphotography.co.uk/Misc/screenshot.jpg
I've got the latest version of Flash running although it must be said not without its problems; anyone else having LR and Flash related Win 7 issues?
I'm not having any speed issues in other modules and my catalogue from LR2 moved across fine so I'm one of the lucky ones so far...

I am having the same problem... running LR3 64 bit, Win 7, 24 gigs memory, but when I try to preview a flash gallery, the screen stays blank.
The only way I can preview the flash gallery is to preview it in the browser.
    Any solutions out there?
    Thanks!

  • Flash web galleries which do not resize photos

Are there any? The ones that come with LR still resize photos in certain window sizes, which, of course, makes them look hideous. Are there any web gallery plugins that totally disable resizing?

    If you go to
Adobethe TTG HTML and TTG Shadowbox Gallery are more configureable than the Lr HTML Gallery and you can alter the image size.

  • Color management for flash galleries

I have recently found out that Flash 10 (currently in beta) supports color management (finally!). However, for it to work it needs to be enabled by the flash application itself. Therefore, I'd like to request the Lightroom team to enable color management for the LR2 flash web galleries.
    Thanks for reading!
    Simon

    Bill,
I'm having the same problem.  My exported web galleries are all shifted to the red.
    Here's an example: http://venture-multimedia.com/photoshoots/jim/index.html
The guy looks like he has a sunburn.  In lightroom he looks fine.  I checked on two diff computers and the web gallery looks red on both, yet in lightroom it looks fine.
Just switched to Windows 7 and I'm wondering if that has somthing to do with it.
    Suggestions please?!?!?!

  • "Tell a friend" email for web galleries- black on black for PC users

Whenever I send out an email to friends with info for a web gallery, everyone who uses a PC (most everyone I know) gets the email and the text is black on a black background and they can't read it. I have to add text to the email with the username and password. When I cc myself on the email and get it on my Mac, it's white text on black background.
What's going on here? It's been this way for 4 web galleries so far.

    Dave:
Try using the Tell a Friend option in iPhoto's toolbar instead of the option of the online gallery. It will look like this except I've changed the font and color of the lower URL line which you can do with this method.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Flash Web Photo Gallery Auto Play

    Hello!
I'm using the Flash - Gallery 1 that came with Photoshop CS2. Is there a (hopefully easy) way to get the gallery to automatically play the slideshow when a user visits the page (instead of clicking the play button)?
    Thanks!
    Sonya

    Sonya,
Unfortunately it can't be set through the options-but it can be done.
It's is not too hard, but you do need Flash.
The source files for the web galleries are generously posted for downloading at:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=2960
    In the _as folder there is a text file named coreFuntions.as. Near the top there is a listing of GLOBAL VARs. Change the line that reads: _global.showPlaying = false;
    to
    _global.showPlaying = true;
    save and you're almost there.
Launch the Gallery1.fla and Publish (or test). It should produce a gallery.swf that you can drop into your original gallery folder (with the other controlling files.

  • Code for Responsive Web gallery

Hi, I'm looking for some sample code for Responsive web galleries. Not Flash ones. Web ones.
Ones that will respond to tablets, pads, and various web pages, including iPhone/iPad even (no flash)
Straight forward web pages are fine. Maybe HTML5, and Responsive.
    Thanks for any help.

Have you checked out http://shop.theturninggate.net/collections/core-elements-3/products/2014-html-gallery to see how they do it?  It is a free gallery for Lightroom 4/5 and you should be able to take a look at the code and see how it was done.  That should get you going in the right direction.

  • Why do web galleries often appear "digitized"?

I occasionally find after creating a web gallery that it will appear digitized once viewed online, both on PC desktop and laptop.
Recent gallery seemed fine on my La Cie monitor but "off" on my HP laptop. I'm wondering if it's a screen resolution mismatch.
    Thoughts?
CS5; Windows 7 - desktop; Vista - laptop; plenty of RAM, etc.

    Thanks again.

OK you using a non color managed Browser. Color space may be an issue I don't see an option to convert to sRGB but that may be the default mode of operation. I don't use the Bridge for creating Web Galleries IMO bridge's output module is very poor. I think Adobe short changed their users by adding it and removing better features from Photoshop. I use Photoshop to generate HTML web galleries. I installed Photoshop Old Photo Web Gallery support to generate customized HTML web Galleries and I use Photoshop scripts to generate Flash Web Galleries.  While the Bridges  upload Web Gallery to web server option seems to be a nice option. I would rather do that as a low priority Background Windows FTP job and be able to use Photoshop during the upload for upload web connectios bandwidth is slow and uploads can be long running.  Adobe really disappointed me when they added the Bridge's output module and removed better features from Photoshop. With the Bridge
output module you can not customize Web galleries well and its PDF support lacks the abilities of the PDF support they removed from Photoshop and that PDF support can NOT be downloaded from Adobe's web site and installed into Photoshop.  If you need the removed support you have to keep two version of Photoshop installed on you system and forget about getting support for the old version you need to have.  Adobe's support is very poor and they drop support for old version of Photoshop like a hot potato.
