Thumbnail Lightbox slideshow in Accordian starts with first image, regadless of trigger

I created my lightbox on a separate page and it works just fine.  I placed that same lightbox inside an accordion panel.  Now (only on the first click) it doesn't matter which thumbnail I click on, the first image comes up.  If I close that image and click on another thumbnail, the right image comes up.  I need to get rid of that glitch.  Any suggestions?

Islandpixie,
Thanks for posting this. I've discussed this issue with our engineering team and we are able to recreate the problem you're experiencing. The problem is related to the state of the Accordian panel that holds the Thumbnail slideshow. If the slideshow/lightbox triggers are in a panel that is open on initial view, the large images (the "heroes") will display in the right order. If the slideshow  is nested in an Accordian panel that is initially closed, the first image in the slideshow will appear first regardless of which trigger thumbnail is clicked.
The only workaround we have at this time would be to use the Lightbox Composition widget instead of the Slideshow widget. This widget does not cause the same issue with hero order, however it will be more work to setup your slideshow. It will require you to create your own thumbnails for your triggers, then associate your hero image with the trigger (whereas the Thumbnail slideshow does this automatically). Here's a brief video on working with the Lightbox composition widget: http://muse.adobe.com/video-create-a-lightbox.html
Thanks for your patience.
Best regards
Corey

  • Select everything starting with first char

    Hi,
I have a simple question and forgot how to do this. I need to do a select statement and select everything from the table for a field i.e. WERKS starting with 'D'. Any help would be greatly appreciated and rewarded.
    Thanks,

If you simply put your cursor on a SELECT statement and press F!, you'll get your answer very quickly.

  • How do I make a PDF Slideshow from Bridge CS4 with 500 images?

Every year I go for an extended photo shooting trip. I use about 400 to 600 of the images to make a PDF slide show. This worked fine in all previous versions of Bridge, but no longer works properly in Bridge CS4. I can create PDF files with up to 329 images, but when I try to make a PDF file with more than that, the PDF file is corrupted. Sometimes, the PDF file opens, but about 10% of the image at random location are corrupted, and their thumbnails show up as white or black patches. At other times, the file does not open in Adobe Reader. I get a variety of error messages. The most common is #109.
Just to be certain it is not caused by my images, I used 550 images I had used to make a PDF show last year with Bridge CS3. I get the same problem. The slide show created last year with 550 images in Bridge CS3 still works in Adobe Reader, ruling out the Reader a being the cause of the problem. It appears that some bug has crept into the CS4 Bridge code.
Unfortunately, a while ago a deleted CS3 from my hard drives without making a copy of the downloaded dmg of CS3, so I can no longer re-install CS3. BTW, other than this bug, I am very happy with CS4. As a photographer, I find the improvements made in CS4 ACR stunning.
Is there a known work-around for this bug?
Is it likely to be fixed in an upcoming update?
Is there a way I can download a copy of CS3 allowing me to install CS3 Bridge, or, if needed, the whole CS3 suite?
(I still have a record of my CS3 registration code.)

I found an answer to my own question. A work around of sorts.
Download Photoshop Elements 6 for Macintosh. With PSE6 I made a slide show with 550 images 1920x1200, without thumbs. I ran into one problem making the slide show. My images contained 4 images which had not ben created by Photoshop and could not be included in the slide show. Opening the images in Photoshop CS4 and re-saving them still did not make then acceptable. Not a big deal. I probably could have fixed the four images by stripping all EXIF data before opening them in Photoshop. BTW, PSE6 made the slide show in demo mode.
I hope the bug in Photoshop CS4 will be fixed in Photoshop CS5.

  • Slideshow Does Not Start at First Slide

Using Keynote '09, I recorded a voiceover for the third slide of a presentation. Now if I play the slideshow, the presentation will not start at slide one. (Yes, I select the first slide to begin. No go.) The presentation begins at the slide with the voiceover. If in Document Inspector I select "normal" or "self-playing," the show begins at the first slide, but there is no sound. When "Recorded" is selected, the voiceover plays, but the slideshow begins with the recorded slide. Any help appreciated.

You're running the slideshow directly from an album or an Event, correct.  This has been a problem for a number of users and there's not been a fix discovered.
Many found that creating the slideshow in the slideshow mode will eliminate that problem.
    Give us details.

  • Making QT Movie slideshow from iPhoto/iMovie with sharp images

Can anyone tell me how to make a QT slideshow that has sharp images after the rendering stage, or if there is any software that can make a good slideshow for a photographer to show clients

It all depends on your "distribution" format and the video codecs used in it.
iMovie isn't a good tool because it is intended to be used on true "video" and would have to convert your images into video formats.
To avoid conversion your should use QuickTime Pro to assemble your project and leave it in a QuickTime format (no exports to iDVD).
Video formats have a predefined frame rate. TV is 29.97 frames per second and your single image file would have hundreds of "duplicates" depending on the frame rate.
QuickTime Pro can create files that have widely varying frame rates. You could have one frame play for 10 seconds and the next play for 1 second. Mix and match to your hearts content.
Older version of iPhoto could also make these low frame rate files but newer versions make your image files into "video" so that leaves iPhoto out (for the most part). There are some tricks but I won't go into them here.
To make a project using QuickTime Pro you would first resize your images to the final distribution dimensions. For playback via computer your could size them to the dimensions of your screen. For "projector" projects size them at 640X480 (4:3 aspect).
You can import these as an "Image Sequence" using QuickTime Pro if you want all the images be displayed at the same frame rate.
Let's assume you have 50 images from a multi-megabyte digital camera. You can use iPhoto to export them (to a Desktop folder) to resize them to computer display size (your screen resolution) or to a fixed size (640X480 for TV or projector).
Use the Finder to rename the files in sequence (1.jpg, 2.jpg, etc.) and open the image sequence via QuickTime Pro.
You could also add them one at a time to an audio track. This allows you to vary the display time of your images.
Open the first of your image files using QuickTime Pro.
Select all (Command-A) and Copy (Command-C).
Open an audio file with QuickTime Pro and make a selection (via the controller to set in and out points). Once you have a selection use the Edit menu and choose "Add to Selection & Scale".
This will add your single image file to the duration of that selection.
Leave the "out" point as your next "in" point and make a new selection in the audio track. Open your next image file and repeat the steps above. If you want to display all black (no video) you could move the selection further forward in the timeline (past the previous image).
Now your file has your series of images or individual files set in a timeline. You could "Delete" the audio track (to play just the images) to keep just your varying frame rate movie.

  • Launch lightbox slideshow by clicking on pic or text?

    Hi guys,
Last question for tonight, it's the big one: how can I configure something so that upon click, it'll launch a lightbox image or slideshow?
    For example:
    - If I have a pic in a text box that is essentially acting as a thumbnail, and I have in text, "Click below to embigify!" so clicking on the pic launches a larger version in a lightbox. Possibly not a larger version of the thumbnail, as on the lightbox verison I may have it cropped differently, etc. So, I want to be able to configure them both independently, one will launch the other.
    - Same goes for if clicking on a pic would lauch a lightbox slideshow. ("Click pic to launch slideshow!") Maybe the pic they're clicking is just a graphic icon or something, and not actually something that'll appear in the slideshow. Click the icon to launch.
    - Same goes for some selected text, clicking would launch lightbox pic or slideshow.
Really hope this is a achievable in Muse. Thanks yet again!
    D

Abhishek, I have done this very thing, but my lightbox slideshows don't start on image 1. They start on random images each time they are opened. Here is the thread (I show the settings of the composition and the slideshow itself): How do I get a lightbox slideshow to start on the first image in Muse?
and here is my test site: Portfolio
Is this a bug, or pray tell, do you have a solution?
Also, this configuration is not working on the bottom row of trigger squares on the iPad. When you touch a box, you should see the words on the square (the rollver state of the trigger) .  It quickly shows, then disappears and then the square of words in the row above highlights instead. And there is no way to open the bottom row of slideshows. It works fine on the desktop. I was trying to avoid creating a separate tablet configuration, but I don't even know what I would do differently.
But any help with the FIRST problem would be appreciated. Thanks.

  • Auto slideshow with progressive image load

    Hello everyone,
Does anyone know of a good autoplay slideshow script that
    starts with the
first image on page load and then downloads the additional
    images when
called? In other words, if there are 20 images in the
    slideshow, it doesn't
load all 20 images before displaying the first.
I have just a couple of specific requirements.
I don't need any controls (pause, forward, etc) on it.
Most of the javascript slideshows I've looked at in Google or
    have in my
snippet list have the image name hardcoded in the script.
    Image1.jpg, image2.jpg, etc, which won't work.
I'll be feeding the images dynamically depending on the
    category the user
chooses and the image names are variable.
I'm currently using javascript that automatically shows and
    hides divs with
the same class name by changing the display style from none
    to block and
back to none as it loops through them.
This works well as I can dynamically write as many divs as
    needed by looping
through all the items in a category.
But alas, this one still doesn't start to run until all the
    images are
    downloaded.
    You can see it here:
    http://www.onelongfellowsquare.com/
There's actually 3 "slideshows", stacked one on top of the
    next, using this
    in the "Featured" section.
Thank you for any help or ideas.
    Take care,
    Tim

    Thanks, Jeff.
That's the functionality I was looking for.
I just need to figure out the best way to dynamically fill
    the array with
    image names from a database.
    Take care,

  • EPub validation errors for chapters starting with an anchored image

I am generating an epub file using InDesign CS5.5.
I have set up a TOC and selected it during the epub export. It has one level based on my paragraph style “Caption” and works perfectly when I test the ePub file on iBooks.
Most chapters start with an image, followed by a caption (in paragraph style “Caption”, the same as I’m using to generate the TOC) underneath.
Images are anchored (using the blue box) to this caption in the Indesign file.
I have forced a page break before the image in the export to epub to ensure the image comes at the top of the page.
So far so good. All looks great and everything, including TOC, works perfectly in iBooks on my iPad and in Adobe Digital Editions.
However, my file will not validate because the TOC markers in the chapters which begin with the anchored image are missing – even though the TOC works perfectly as I’ve mentioned earlier.
As far as I can make out from the HTML, the anchored image is overriding the TOC marker, hence the error.
I’ve manually edited the chapter files concerned for now as I’m under time pressure to finish the job, but I’d really appreciate any advice on how to set up my InDesign file to avoid this error in the first place for future books.
(I’ve tried anchoring the image to a space before the caption text, and anchoring it to a soft and hard return but no joy. I could start the page with the caption followed by the image and force the break after the image instead of before it to solve the problem but my client wants the image at the start of the chapter and I agree it looks much better that way round…….)
    Any suggestions much appreciated.
I can post the HTML code the Indesign export is generating and the edited code if that helps at all.

    Hi Steve,
    Thanks for your quick response.
I have Version 7.5 of InDesign CS5.5. Not sure if that includes the patch? If not, where would I get the patch from?
On the error, here are a couple of examples from the first 2 chapters - it occurs in every chapter that begins with an image:
    ERROR         OEBPS/toc.ncx         23       62       'toc_marker-2': fragment identifier is not defined in 'OEBPS/Inspirational_Love_V1-1.html'
    ERROR         OEBPS/toc.ncx         29       62       'toc_marker-3': fragment identifier is not defined in 'OEBPS/Inspirational_Love_V1-2.html'
Also, here's an example of the original HTML generated by the export which is missing the TOC marker:
    <div class="Basic-Text-Frame">
    <p class="para-style-override-1"> <img
    src="images/VX61_Fogra_USM_fmt.jpeg" alt="VX61_Fogra_USM.jpg"
    height="467" width="1400" /> </p>
    <p class="Caption">Refuge Cove, Wilson's Promontory, Vic</p>
And here's the corrected code which validates:
    <div class="Basic-Text-Frame">
    <p class="para-style-override-1"> <img
    src="images/VX61_Fogra_USM_opt.jpeg" alt="VX61_Fogra_USM.jpg"
    height="467" width="1400" /> </p>
    <p id="toc_marker-4" class="Caption">Refuge Cove, Wilson’s
    Promontory, Vic</p>
    Thanks for your help.

  • Getting Started with Lightroom 1.3

I grabbed a download copy of LR 1.0 at the $200 web price. I upgraded as they came along, but never did much with the package.
I was using Bridge and CS3 along with DxO.
Well now it is time to get going with LR. I like what I have seen and heard.
My question is, "What is the best way to start my catalogs and move all my old photos?" Do I dump all my photos in one catalog? Create folders for everything? Use meta data labels?
    Thanks,
    Tom Loeb

Not sure whether this is what you are after, but my advice is to not change your folder structure--or anything else--to accomodate LR--or any program for that matter. Your folders are the lifeblood of an archive and should be organized hierarchically and named such that any image can be found reasonaby fast with any decent browser. File naming should also reflect what you require in your collection design.
Then import to LR--or whatver app you use. I concur that you should start small, but not too small--we started with 5000 images to be used for test purposes when LR was first released. That was increased to 15 k for LR1.2. We unfortunately found a major inadequacy in LR (for use with a group of 5 pros)and discontinued testing , which will now resume with 1.3.
Our problem was that LR 1.2 could not consistently recognize even exact duplicates on importing. Our particular workflow requires importing batches that often have up to 20% duplicates. It is not mentioned anywhere but maybe it is fixed in 1.3. If so, we will up the db to about 30K images as a next step. If not, we will stick with our present workflow--Bridge plus and independent DAM. If we do adopt it we will eventially probably have 150-175 k images in the DB--that is if it can handle that many.
I hope to do some tests later today, but duplicate finding aside, 1.3 has some substantial improvements over 1.2.

  • In an iPhoto slideshow how do I get it to start with the first image?

It seems as if the slideshow starts with a ramdom image.
Is there any way to have an i:Photo slieshow start with the first one in an album?

When playing a slideshow directly from an album the show will start with the first photo in the album unless another photo is selected.  In that case the slideshow will begin with the selected photo.
There's also an setting pane for the album slideshow with an option to randomize the photos with each playing.
Make sure the Shuffle checkbox is not selected.

    Back up all data.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
    Step 1
If you have more than one user account, and the one in question is not an administrator account, then temporarily promote it to administrator status in the Users & Groups preference pane. To do that, unlock the preference pane using the credentials of an administrator, check the box marked Allow user to administer this computer, then reboot. You can demote the problem account back to standard status when this step has been completed.
Triple-click the following line to select it. Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
    { sudo chflags -R nouchg,nouappnd ~ $TMPDIR.. ; sudo chown -Rh $UID:staff ~ $_ ; sudo chmod -R u+rwX ~ $_ ; chmod -R -N ~ $_ ; } 2> /dev/null
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The command will take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear, then quit Terminal.
    Step 2 (optional)
The first step should give you usable permissions in your home folder. This step will restore special attributes set by OS X on some user folders to protect them from unintended deletion or renaming. You can skip this step if you don't consider that protection to be necessary.
Boot into Recovery by holding down the key combination command-R at startup. Release the keys when you see a gray screen with a spinning dial.
When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
    Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open.
In the Terminal window, type this:
