Thumbnail problem in IE

For some reason, unbekown to me, I have a thumbnail gallery where the thumbnail border line is equal in FF, Safari and Opera. In IE there's a thickish black line at the bottom of the thumbnails. Any ideas how to make the borders all equal please? Link below.
http://bajor.servers.rbl-mer.misp.co.uk/~sunridge/photo.html

Hi,
to give peace to your soul: I can't see any borders, neither below nor above. But to be on the safe side, you could do it like this:
<img src="http://bajor.servers.rbl-mer.misp.co.uk/~sunridge/photo/p1.jpg" alt="Title #0" border="0" /></a> (Nancy will stone me, she prefers css formatting)

P.S.
1. or: border="1" / aso.
2. I see many tabs in your code.

  • Has the duplicate erroneous thumbnail problem been resolve in the current Elements software?

I have used both Elements and Lightroom in the past, but have dropped both because of the redundant thumbnails of the same photo when they are moved from one folder to another.  Since the complete file only resides on one place other thumbnails are present but only serve to complicate finding the actual file.
I purchased a new Lightroom, but the problem still exists with the current software.
My questions regard the handling of files within Elements.  I have 50,000 photos in my inventory and with a work flow that requires moving existing photos from one folder to another, I can not afford to generate erroneous thumbnails with each subsequent move.
Has Adobe addressed the duplicate and erroneous thumbnail problem in the current Elements software?  Does the use of Bridge avoid this problem?  Is Bridge available within Elements?  Is Camera Raw available within Elements?  What is the annual cost of Elements if procured thru Creative Cloud without access to the full Photoshop program?

    Jerry,
I don't understand your problem. Moving files from within either Elements or Lightroom doesn't create redundant thumbnails.
There has been problems in older versions of Elements where the 'Folders' view was corrupted and did not show the real content of the folders.
    http://www.johnrellis.com/psedbtool/photoshop-elements-faq.htm#_Folder_Location_view
If that's what you have experienced, the problem is solved since PSE11.
Without knowing exactly your workflow, it's difficult to understand your problem. Moving files from folder to folder require taking into account the possibility of files with the same name already existing in the destination folder. Do you get files renamed with a suffix in the destination folder ?
    - Bridge is not available with Elements
    - The camera raw version in Elements is limited to the 'basic' and 'detail' panels
    - Elements is not available in the Cloud subscriptions.

  • Does upgrading from Premiere Elements 12 to 13 solve the Organizer thumbnail problem?

Thumbnails do not show up after importing clips into Premiere Elements 12 Organizer.  I've tried right clicking on a clip and telling it to recreate the thumbnail but it doesn't work. I've tried refreshing and repairing the catalog.  I've even started a new catalog and reimported the files.  The system says it's creating thumbnails but they still do not show up.  Does upgrading from Premiere Elements 12 to 13 solve the Organizer thumbnail problem?

    listiak
That is one of those questions best answered by evaluating Elements Organizer13 with your specific files in your specific computer environment.
Each of the Elements Organizer versions often appears to carry along its own baggage.
One of the things that came up about Elements Organizer 13 thumbnails recently was a problem with files with MPEG2
video compression. The Adobe word on this was that this is only an Elements Organizer 13 tryout issue...supposed not to exist
    in the purchased version.

  • Thumbnail problem

since my last update, I see on my thumbnails several times the same old picture.
When I click on it,  the old picture dissapears andI can see the original ones. When I open full screen view, the pictures do not show at all. Anyone experienced this? How can I revert it?
since my last update, I see on my thumbnails several times the same old picture.
    -version of iPhoto : Iphoto'11 version 9.1.5
    - What version of the Operating System. Mac OS X version 10.6.8
    - Details. What were you doing when theproblem arose? Appeared after last software update
    - Did it ever work properly? Yes
    - Are there error messages? No
    - What steps have you tried already tosolve the issue. If I drag en drop the picture to desktop and delete it from Iphoto and then re-enter it in Iphoto by dragging it from the desktop into Iphoto the problem is solved. But I am talking about thousends of photos, so almost impossible to repeat this action for all these pictures
In full screen view of the thumbnails, the old picture dissapears and a blanc picture is seen, as you can see on the screenshot

I have tried what you said, backed up with time capsule and relaunched iPhoto.
It says after a while "rebuilding library; 20179 versions restored" but than stops, nothing happens.... (even after 7 hours!)
I have tried to find back all my pictures on the time capsule, and in library>pictures>iPhoto i cannot find them!!! I only see the icon of iPhoto and it calculates 49,3 GB on disk but how can i get them back in iPhoto....
    please help....

  • Spry Image Slideshow with Filmstrip, thumbnail problem in Safari

I'm adding a spry image slideshow with filmstrip in Dreamweaver CS5 on a Mac. I have a folder of images with a large and small (Thumbnail) version of the photos I'd like to use. I've relinked all of the images that are inserted as placeholders by the widget: Source for thumbnail versions and link for large versions. When I preview in Firefox all is well. When I preview in Safari, the filmstrip has white boxes rather than the thumbnail images. Everything else is fine. (It previews correctly in Safari before I change the links.) What am I doing wrong?

I have a similar problem. I've added a note to reference your problem. I've not got an answer to date.

  • PSE7 Thumbnail problem  Offline Media bug(?) in restoring from PSE5 to PSE7

My problem is this: (It is similar to http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.59b7e77a, but the solution there is not applicable to my situation; at least I do not think so)
I have used the Photoshop Elements 5 backup method for storing the photos and catalog information, and I am trying to get it working in PSE 7 on my reformatted computer. Upon restoring the information, however, although all my files are unpacked at the location I choose, my entire catalog is listed as offline in PSE7 (with the red offline symbol shown on each ?-marked thumbnail). This seems to what is called Wrong drive type in catalog on the psedbtool homepage (http://www.johnrellis.com/psedbtool/). Sure enough, checking the properties of the photo-files in the catalog, the old D:\... path is shown. I do not have two partitions on the computer anymore, however, so anything listed as D:\... is surely external (if not, as you note, properly denoted as offline).
The problem is listed on the psedbtool homepage as minor in effect, which sounds hopeful, but they are major at the moment to my subjective eye, since I cannot access any of my photos from PSE. The data is there, of course, but I cannot reconnect using the proper command, since it does not label anything as missing files. Only "offline". What I would like to do, if possible, is to rewrite the metadata so that I can tell PSE where my files are, since the internal structure seems to be perfectly correct. (Unfortunately, I cannot redo the procedure since I do not have access to the original catalog files anymore, only the photos themselves in addition to the backup file. I hate to lose all my metadata, however, including all my albums etc.)
Immensely grateful for a suggestion on how to fix it.

    Thank for the quick response!
The full output file is attached below (sorry, my bad), and the photos are restored in subfolders under the path C:\Documents and Settings\Niklas\My Documents\My Pictures\Foton t om september 2008.
As may be noted in the output below (which is changed from the one posted before, in addition to being the full output this time), I have managed to get some photos reconnected. Reading through your help FAQ I noticed that I could make the offline content online by trying out Quickly reconnecting large numbers of photos suggestion 4 (http://www.johnrellis.com/psedbtool/photoshopelements-6-7-faq.htm#_Quickly_reconnecting_ large). It worked sort of, but unfortunately I have almost a thousand folders to go through (due to the import option creating a new folder for each day a photo is imported), so I wonder if there may be a better way of re-pointing the catalog.
    Again, thanks!

  • IPhoto thumbnail problem

I'm running iPhoto 08.  Normally, when I'm in "Photos" under "Library" I see a page of thumbnails of my photos.  Something has happened so that now I just see a single photo.  If I click 'edit' then I get the thumbnails in a bar up top - but I can get them back tiled as they used to be. I've looked at other answers to similar problems and have tried holding down command/option and using the rebuild thumbnails options (there are two - one for 'small thumbnails, one for 'all thumbnails') - neither one has worked. Any other ideas? I'm not very saavy, so pls provide as much info as possible! Thank you so much.  I'm running OS X (version 10.8.2).

Try rebuilding the database file as follows:
Make a temporary, backup copy of your library if you don't already have one (Control-click on the library and select Duplicate from the contextual menu) and  apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
    Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

  • BIG Thumbnail problem

The last few weeks Aperture started driving me insane. After massive permission issues and ending up rebuilding my library - at least now I can access it again.
HOWEVER - I still have issues with the thumbnails - they keep rebuilding every time I open Aperture. Some of them load successfully then disappear again, others don't load at all.
Also selecting all images in a project and selecting "generate thumbnails" doesn't solve the issues.
    Any ideas appreciated!!! Thanks!

in my case it's managed, and the import is via the import dialog that opens when the memory card is inserted into the card reader. I've never had this problem before with any previous imports of lumix LX3 photos, nor 40D photos. Don't know what changed. I tried repairing permissions too. Will try a few more things.

  • Windows 7 x64 and PDF thumbnails problems

I have CS5 and Acrobat 9 and under Vista x32 I could see the pdf thumbnails nicely.  Yesterday I installed Windows 7 x64 and now all I can see are the Adobe icons.  I read some other threads that describe opening up the files through acrobat and then changing to either large icon or extra large icon to fix the problem.  This works, but when I go back through windows explorer everyhting is back to just icons.  I have made sure that explorer is set to always view thumbnails and I don't have this problem with anyother file types such as Word documents or image files.  I have also tried rebuilding the installation as anthoer poster had suggested.  Has anyone found a permanent fix for this?

Thanks for the link to the fix (by Pretentious Name . com).
I note that over a year has passed since you posted this solution, and Adobe has still not corrected the problem.
Problems, errors, and omissions in software are normal and acceptable - what is not acceptable is that Adobe choses to not take action to correct certain problems, especially when the user community identifies both the cause and the solution to the problem.
The folks at Adobe shoud take a close look at this web page: http://www.pretentiousname.com/adobe_pdf_x64_fix/ - it contains a complete and well-documented description of both the cause of the problem and the solution to the problem.

  • When is the dailymotion thumbnail problem going to be fixed

In Dailymotion, the thumbnails are blacked out even with the age gate off. I have tried all the fixes found here in the support, but none of them work. It all started with the last update of firefox, so I assume it has something to do with that. Dailymotion works fine in IE and other browsers. Firefox is the only one with the problem. I would like to get it resolved if anyone can help.

Yes the age gate is off

  • Thumbnails problem

    Hi guys!
I need to make thumbnails of fixed size from the image that user selects and store them into DB.
Putting image into DB is no problem, but what about scaling?
As I'm storing them into BLOB, I need byte[ ](Is there any other way with DB2?). So the question is how to operate between classes that can do scaling stuff(by the way, wich is worth to use?) and byte[ ] array.
I looked in forums but couldn't find anything.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance

Obviously you are not looking hard enough.

  • IMovie Generating Thumbnails Problem

    Hey there,
I'm pretty much a new comer to the Mac World. And I was importing some video footage from my Sony HD Cam. Now there must of been at least 3/4 hours of HD recording and managed to import it all. I set the importing at Full Res. and it imported fine, now the problem that I have is the Thumnail Generating Process. Yesterday, the thumbnail generating process said 23 hours, so I left it to run overnight, and it is now saying 70 hours ? So what/where is the problem ?
    Thanks
    Sangiev,

It sounds like your iMovie is in a "hang" condition, because it should not take that long.
I would recommend that you close iMovie. Then, in the finder, go to the Movies/iMovie Events folder and find your Event. In the Event, you should see the files you just imported along with two additional folders: thumbnails and cache. Leave the main video files alone, but drag the thumbnail folder and cache folder to your desktop temporarily (In case this does not work, you can move them back).
Then reopen iMovie. It should regenerate the thumbnail files.

  • Ipod touch 4g video thumbnail problem?

I have an iphone 4 but bought my wife a new 32g touch which came yesterday. All seems fine except thumbnails of videos transfered to the device are shown as a sort of negative. Video's shot on the touch are fine but anything else like vids shot on my ip4 and movies converted from dvd to work on the iphone/ipod show up as negative/dark thumbnails. The videos themselve run perfectly its just the thumbnails. Anyone else had this problem? I've never had this happen with any of my iphones or my wifes 1st gen tough.

I have the exact same problem and I still cannot find a solution. This happens to videos that I convert to play through my ipod app as well. I'm starting to believe this is related to a bug in iOS 4.0. Hopefully this problem will be corrected on the next iOS update.

  • Thumbnail problem ... WHY ?

On FCP7 I keep losing thumbnails in the timeline and on clips in the browser. I know how to get them back by deleting 3 thumbnail cache files but does anyone know WHY this happens and how to prevent it?

    hatstead wrote:
When I save as a PSD file, I get this blue thumbnail every time. What happens when you save as JPEG?
PSE uses the system fonts. They should be in Control Panel>Fonts. Can you access the "missing" fonts in another application?
    Message was edited by: hatstead
Also, when you access the type tool, highlight the font name, then use the keyboard arrow keys to scroll through the font list. Are the fonts displayed via this route?
    Hatstead,
Are you having the same problem with the tiny icon inside the white paper too? Did you ever try to get that fixed?
Anyway, JPEG and PNG files show up fine, this is what JPEG looks like:
I just looked through my Fonts ( >Control Panel >Fonts) and 2 fonts that I used a lot, Monotype Corsiva and Balloonist (to name just a couple) are not there. Then,  I opened my Editor and scrolled down through the font list and fonts are displayed ok, but those 2 are not in there either.
Before I sent my laptop to HP, I copied everything I had (Docs, pics, info, etc.) to a USB drive, then I had to delete everything.  I did copy some fonts too, but only the ones I had downloaded plus a few that I had purchased, about 100 total.  I had a little over 400 fonts in there!  I thought that all fonts were inherent to Microsoft... appears that's not the case. *big sigh*
Anyway, I'd really like to have my blue PSE thumbnail back.  If you or anyone else can help me solve this mystery I would really appreciate it.

  • Possible solution to iMovie generating thumbnails problem

I have been using iMovie '09 (version 8....) to import videos from a SONY hdr-cx360 camcorder for almost a year without problems.  The camera was set (by default) to also take still photos whenever it detected a smile on a face.  Last week I noticed one video event had a lot of associated still photos, and I decided to import these into iPhoto.  When I was done and went back to iMovie to import the video I started to have all kinds of problems with "failed imports" or successful imports followed by never-ending "generating thumbnails" processes.  I searched this community and other online sources and tried a few suggestions.
First I used iMovie to create an archive of my camera on my hard drive.  I then tried to import video events from the archive, but encountered the same problems as when trying to import from the camera.
I then deleted from my iPhoto library all photos I had imported into iPhoto from the video camera, but the problem persisted.
Then I deleted the "com.apple.iMovie8.plist" (and the iPhoto preference file) from   /Users/USERNAME/Library/Preferences
Restarted the computer and iMovie, but this didn't solve the problem either.
I used Disk Utility to fix permissions and verify/repair the disk, but no difference.
I had already looked in Macintosh HD/Library/Preferences/ for an iMovie preference file to delete, but there isn't one.  Today I looked again and noticed that while there isn't an iMovie preference file, there IS an iLife preference file:  com.apple.iLife09.plist
I moved the file from the folder to my hard drive, rebooted the iMac, and launched iMovie.  Again I tried to import from the camera archive on my hard drive and this time every video imported fine and thumbnails completed successfully.  We'll see if the solution sticks for the next round of video imports.
Not sure what to do with the com.apple.iLife09.plist since I noticed it was not recreated in the Preferences folder.  Will hold onto it for a while I guess.
[BTW - I think in my case the trigger for these problems was having iPhoto and iMovie open at the same time and both connecting to the camera].

It sounds like your iMovie is in a "hang" condition, because it should not take that long.
I would recommend that you close iMovie. Then, in the finder, go to the Movies/iMovie Events folder and find your Event.
