Thumbnail Size when Browsing in PS

I am a brand new Mac user and have just converted over my Photoshop from Windows to Mac.  I am trying to increase the thumbnail size when I am browsing my images to open directly from Photoshop without going through Bridge first.  I have increase the size of the thumbnails using the Apple preferences but this does not seem to effect the thumbnails when viewing files directly from Photoshop.  Can someone tell me if I can do this and how?

In column view I only get one thumbnail at a time and only after I click on the image name.  This defeats the purpose of the thumbnails for me as I want to see the thumbnails in order to select the image and not view the thumbnails after I select the image.  The problem with the matrix view thumbnails is they are too small to make that selection with as I can't see any differences if the images are similar at all.  What I'm hoping for is that the thumbnails can be made larger in the matrix view but I can't seem to find any setting in Photoshop that change the default settings.

  • How can I increase the thumbnail size when using Safari to upload an image to a website?

I upload many images to multiple websites and when using Safari to upload these images, the thumbnails are so small I can barely make out what the image is. I can easily figure out how to increase the thumbnail size when viewing them in Finder and set the default to my liking, but I cannot seem to find a way to do this in Safari. The last topic I saw on this was form 2013 and have not seen any update. Is there a way to do this?

    Delete all unused, invisible layers.
Sometimes zip compression is better than jpg compression (in the pdf output settings). Zip is lossless, and works better with non gradient colour or no images.
Flattening the image before you save it to pdf can reduce the file size if you are using jpg compression.
Post a preview of your pdf and we can comment further on how to reduce the file size.

  • Thumbnail size in Browser (Grid) View?

    Greetings,
In Browser View, I change the size of the thumbnails to five across. When I close and then reopen Aperture, the thumbnail size has changed to four across. Is this the default size and is there a way to change it to keep it the way you set it?
    Thanks in advance - Scrags

Aperture 2.0.1 will remember any adjustments to the size of thumbnails in the "Browser Only" window. If you select "Browser + Viewer" AND film stripe for thumbnails (not grid) then the thumbnail size will automatically be adjusted according to the size of the Browser window.

  • Why doesn't Aperture rembmer thumbnail size when turning on/off viewer?

I noticed that when I turn on/off the viewer by pressing V, the thumbnail in the browser will go back to the smallest size. Do I have a corrupted preference file or something like that?
Am I the only one experiencing this annoying behavior?
    Thanks for any input.

    Thanks for these suggestions.
I have added the sites to the trusted sites in IE and that didn't help.
Things are a bit more complicated with the global security settings of the flash player. When I click your link, I see the note (Note: The Settings Manager that you see above is not an image; it is the actual Settings Manager itself.), but no settings manager, so I cannot click any tabs. I can rightclick to go to global settings, but I can find no global security settings. A complicating factor is that I'm located in Poland and even though the installer correctly notes that I'm running an English language Windows system, it will only install flash player in Polish - and translations are usually not so good. So I have an "advanced" tab in the settings manager and I added my secure sites to the trusted sites, even though it says this is for programmers only. Anyway - this didn't help either.
Please help, as this problem has cut me off from my bank account!

  • Thumbnail size when uploading pics to Websites

Ok, I've asked this question on several sites with no luck and getting a little frustrated. When attempting to load photos from file on my local harddrive to facebook, 500px, flickr, email, etc. the the thumbnails are fixed in size. The option to enlarge or reduce them is not available in any viewing mode. This only happens when attempting to upload them to a third party website. I've also tried both Safari and Chrome, I've adjusted thumbnail size in "finder" and they simply revert back to the fixed size when you open the upload window. Does anyone know the fix for this? Yes, you could use cover flow, but thats a work around at best and does not solve my problem of not being able to adjust thumbnail size at all in the upload window. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

I cant open album pictures on facebook on my computer, but i can on others. I can see pictures thumbnail size, so I can still see pictures, but when I go to open them to see them full size it will not load or show up.

  • Photos convert to thumbnail size when printing

I am trying to print on an EPSON R300. When printing from iPhoto I select the size/layout that I want, but when I go to preview and/or print it doesn't not fill the page. Everything is getting downsized to "thumbnail" size. I've tried everything I can think of, including reinstalling the printing drivers, nothing is working. HELP!!!!

    2Xclone:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Just to be sure we're on the same page here's the workflow I use to get a borderless 4x6:
Steps for printing 4 x 6 prints from iPhoto:
    <li crop the photo to 4 x 6 beforehand in iPhoto's edit window.</li>
in Page Setup select your printer, proper page orientation and paper size, i.e. 4x6 or 4x6 borderless
click once on the picture you want to print to make sure it's selected.
now click on the Print button in iPhoto.
in the iPhoto print window, select your printer again, select Style = "Standard Prints", Size= 4x6 and click on One photo per page.
    click on the Print button.
Is that how you're going about it?
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application, iPhoto dB file backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Crash when Browsing JPEGs after Changing Browser Thumbnal Size

I am getting repeated crashes in Aperture when browsing a 3500 JPEG file project when I change the browser thumbnail size while browsing. The crash usually occurs after the thumbnail size has been changed and I am scrolling in the browser window. Has anyone experienced this crash? are there any work arounds?

Unfortunately, eradicating the current Nvidida driver and running a different one has not solvede the issue.  Although the Windows RunTime error now stays up long enough to Screen Cap:
    Todd,
We are aware of the specs, but due to circumstances beyond our control, we are stuck with either trying to get the programs running again in XP64, or switching editing packages.  We would obviously like to avoid switching.   Two other designers are running the programs fine on the same set up, and as I mentoined before, we were also running fine until recently.  Since we didn't change any drivers or download any codecs prior to the onset of these issues, I'm not sure what else to do.

Just bought brand new new iMac. When browsing in Safari, sometimes the text suddenly gets super large. I'm doing nothing except reading the screen, tho I usually have my hand resting lightly on the mouse. I can get back to normal size by clicking "actual size" in View. But then it does it again a minute or two later. What gives? Something seems defective--but what?

From System Preferences, Mouse, Point & Click, Secondary click.  Go to it hover over Secondary click and watch the short video sequence change it left right, left right, you will see exactly what is does. No I do not think your Mouse is defective, you simply need to take control of your Mouse finger.

  • Adobe Illustrator CS5 does not show PDF thumbnails when browsing

When I am browsing through PDF files to open one of them in Adobe Illustrator CS5 it does not show the thumbnail.  When I am browsing in Adobe Acrobat it does show the thumbnails.  If I have Adobe Acrobat open and am browsing through files and the thumbnails are showing then if I open Adobe Illustrator and browse for a file the thumbnail does show up.
How can I get Illustrator to always show the PDF thumbnails.  I have to frequently browse through thousands of PDF files and it is imperative that I can see the thumbnail for these PDF files.  I primarily use Illustrator to edit PDF files.
The computer is Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit edition.  Thumbnails barely work when browsing files through Explorer.  Some thumbnails will show, but not very many of them and it is extremely slow to load the thumbnails that will display.

    Bob,
So I am assuming you are talking about viewing the files using this method first:
To use the 32-bit version of Windows Explorer, follow these steps:
Click Start, click Run, type the following in the Open box, and then click OK:
    Drive_Letter:\windows\syswow64\explorer.exe /separate
Note The placeholder Drive_Letter represents the drive where the x64-based version of Windows is installed.
Please let me know if I am missing what you are saying here.

  • GenPrint spitting out Thumbnail size PDFs when using AddMultiPageBitmap

    Hello,
I have an odd situation occurring that has me a little stumped, wondering if anybody has any insight. We setup a project to run in one of our test environments. The project uses the AddMultiPageBitmap rule to pull in one or more PDF's from the Linux server it's running on for some transactions. What's odd is that when the GenPrint shell script is executed by the scheduler (we use Zena), Genprint runs fine, and our resulting Metacode output contains the expected PDF's, but they're very small (we've been calling it 'thumbnail' size).  When I run the GenPrint shell script using a super-user ID (the one that was used to install Documaker on the server, as well as defined the majority of the folder structure on the server that our project uses), then the PDF's are normal/full size. It doesn't matter 'who' ran GenData, the NAFILE is the same.
Since the only difference is where the scripts are located that are being run (the scheduled one is in an "installed to" location, whereas when I run it using the super-user ID, I'm just running it from a 'scripts' folder that I copied to the same parent folder that the Documaker project's subfolders are in), and the ID itself that's running it, that seems to imply it's authorization related, but there's nothing different in the log files, nothing in the output listing, errfile, etc. I've wondered if there's a Debug option I could try turning on to see if that spits out anything that would help, but not sure which rule to use/turn on.
Has anybody ever run into something like this before, or have a better grasp on what could be happening and where I should look next?
We're running 11.5, patch 4, and as I mentioned, we're running it on the Linux platform, creating Metacode output.
    Thanks,
    Gregg

    Hi Gregg,
Everything you've mentioned seems to indicate that it's related to permissions. Is it possible that you could change the permissions on the PDF file (something like chmod 777) and see if this makes a difference in the resulting output? I've not heard of something like this before.

  • Adjusting thumbnail sizes in the browser

Hello everyone. Is there a way to adjust the thumbnails in the browser? I dropped the view menu down and there is only an option for small medium and large. I would like to adjust them to an even larger size so I'm curiuos what options I have and how do I achieve it.
    Thank you so much
    erv

There is no "Extra Large" setting in the view options unfortunately. S/M/L it is.

  • When emailing photos from iphoto, they are sending in thumbnail sizes..

I used to be able to send photos through email just fine. Just recently all of my pictures are being sent in a thumbnail size format. I don't know how to get it to send reg. size pictures as it was before.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. After sending them to Mail with the Email button in iPhoto go to the bottom of the window and select the size you want to send with the menu there.

  • Thumbnail size images are not loading

On some sites such as Myspace or Facebook or even the Images search on Yahoo, the thumbnail size do not load up at all. The browser will take longer than usual to load the page but when it finishes loading the images show up as a box with a question mark.
Can somebody tell me what I can do to prevent this from happening? It's becoming really frustrating when I do searches.

I've had this problem for the entire year that I've had my Mac so far. I thought it was a normal thing until I used Safari on a few other Macs. Everything else on my Mini is nice and fast. The same pages render in blazing speeds when I use Firefox or Opera when compared to Safari. Anyone have a solution?
