Thumbnails and images

Can anyone shed some light on this, the stress level trying
to solve this is very high.
<a href="images/IMG_3849.JPG">
<img border="2" src="images/IMG_3849_small.JPG"
xthumbnail-orig-image="images/IMG_3849.JPG" width="100" height="75"
alt="pic1"></a>
The above will not validate in W3C, I've checked and checked
and cannot find a problem.
We are using the following DOCTYPE.
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01
Transitional//EN" "
http://www.w3c.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">
I keep getting the following:
Error Line 52 column 72: there is no attribute
"XTHUMBNAIL-ORIG-IMAGE".
...852_small.JPG" xthumbnail-orig-image="images/IMG_3852.JPG"
width="100" height="75" alt="pic1"></a>
If I had Fireworks an album could be created but I don't have
it yet.
Thank y'all.

Whats this property added into the image tag?
xthumbnail-orig-image="images/IMG_3849.JPG"
I would guess if you remove that, you will validate.
One other thing - you might want to add a title tag for
accessibility.
Cheers,
Rob

  • Help with adjusting spacing between thumbnails and image in slideshow

How can I adjust the spacing on the slideshow page?
Customer wants more space between the thumbnails at the top and the image(s). Can I move the image & navigation tool or adjust the image size relative to the thumbnails and navigation tool at the bottom?
Although I'm familiar with html source code and working on simple stuff at that level, I have yet to locate it in iWeb and make any adjustments.
If anyone has step-wise instructions, I'd appreciate it. Thanks much.

iweb photos page's elements: header controls, detail view and footer controls are generated by ajax widgets, so there is nothing to in page source for you to find.
If anyone has step-wise instructions, I'd appreciate it. Thanks much.
that would be the instruction on how ajax widgets build photos page... there is none.
you can send feedback to apple and ask for details on iweb widgets and tools to build widgets.
that said, it can be done... check out with safari: http://temp.cyclosaurus.com/DetailView_Rearranged/Photos.html

  • Thumbnails and image viewer

I need to make a page with a bunch of thumbnails, where
clicking on any of the thumb nails makes that image appear bigger
in a different part of the screen. I know this can be done but I
cant remember that the terminology is. Could someone tell me what
this is called so I can google a tutorial on this?
    thanks

    Hi.
It´s easy. I will try, with my bad english, explain you
    how to do it. Only
    as trainer.
    1. Create a table with 2 cells and 2 rows.
    2. Now in the first left cell insert one of the thumbnail.
    3. In the second left cell insert another thumbnail.
    4. Now select the two right rows, while click right and
    select table-combine
cells. Insert here one of your big image. This will be the
    image wich will
be seen when the page loads.
    5. Select the images, one to one, and down in the Properties
    Inspector you
will see a small image. Give a name to every image in the
    small white box.
    6. Select the first thumbnail and click the Tag Inspector
    menu. Click the +
in Behaviors and select Swap Image.
    7. In the new Swap image box select the name of your big
    image and in the
Source image click browse and select the big image wich
    correspond to the
thumbnail you select in point 6.
    Repeat the process.
For default the swap image is set on mouse over, click over
    "on mouse over"
and change it for on click.
I hope that you understand this steps.

  • Thumbnail and image issues iPhoto 'o8 & Leopard

I installed iLife '08 a few weeks ago and then installed Leopard on the day it was released. I have recently imported a few high-res images (adjusted in Photoshop CS2) and some of them are listed in my iPhoto library but I can not see the photos. I simply get a black thumbnail and when I double click the image it does not appear in the separate window. I can see the image when I go to make a slideshow, but I can see the image when viewing it in the folder or event. Any idea what the issues are?
    Thanks,
    Mark

Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the apple and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.

  • Tried to reinstall iPhoto library from external hard drive, it shows that the photos and events are there but there are no thumbnails and if you click on an image or video nothing comes up.

My hard drive crashed recently and we took it to apple to get repaired. The apple employees said that they would have to replace the hard drive but they didn't have the equipment to get the data off my hard drive. So I took it to a computer store who had the right equipment after a month and a half of waiting they finally got all the data off my hard drive and put it on an external hard drive (Seagate Expansion Portable Drive). I then took it back to apple who replaced the hard drive. Now I'm in the process of reinstalling everything. I have never done a Time Machine back up or backed my laptop up to . Which I now will do very often once I've reinstalled everything. I have reinstalled all of my desktop images and folders as well as my iTunes library with no issues. However when i went to reinstall my iPhoto library it came up blank. I then Rebuilt the library several times and this was the result.
It shows that the photos and events are there but there are no thumbnails and if you click on an image or video nothing comes up.
Please help i have three years worth of images from holidays on here and would be devastated if i lost them.

iPhoto cannot find the thumbnails or the original pictures.
Go to your iPhoto Library in the Pictures Folder.
Right-click on it and from the resulting menu, choose 'Show Package Contents'.
This will bring you inside the iPhoto Library package. There you should see a Folder called Masters. Within that, there should be folder containing your actual photos.
    Are they there?

  • The photos in my IPhoto have all become mini-thumbnails and I can't open or edit them. When I print the image it comes out normal size.  How do I get the thumbnails back to the standard size and be able to work with them?

What version of iPhoto and system are you running?  On the guess that you're running the latest iPhoto, 9.4.2, Try the following:
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the thumnails, Option #2.
2 - It may take 2-3 attempts so don't give up after only one attempt.

  • Web Gallery - need file name on thumbnail and large image

I think I have tried all the CS3 templates, but haven't found what our client is requesting. Is there a template that shows the file name on both the thumbnail and large image, and will make large images of 600-800 pixels (long dimension)?
    Thanks in advance,
    Dan Clark

Thanks for your reply Nini. Yes, I had gone through all the presets and options. Was hoping I might have missed something, or that someone knew a trick/workaround. We've been using Table-Minimal for years, which is my overall favorite. I like to ability to make a large image, but it can't do what the client is requesting. They've made a list of selects from some very large galleries (200-300 shots each), and now want to jump directly to the shots they've previously chosen, in order to show their coworkers. I've also considered "Add Numeric Links", but I find that either confuses people, or they give me that number, instead of the file name/number, which makes a lot of extra work for us.

    Art,
I am trying to follow your very precise steps, and in my case (PSE11 also, Win7), the focus stays on the edited picture after I return from the editor to the Organizer. I am pretty sure that in the previous post describing your situation, I was able to reproduce the problem, but I don't remember on which version. I just tried in 'Folders' view mode to edit in a selected folder, then I clicked 'All media' so that no folder was selected. Same result in both cases.
Even if you prefer to work in folders view, you could take advantage of the ability to use 'albums'. It's a misleading word to describe a selection, a 'collection' of pictures, which you can sort as you want. It's a kind of  'playlist' like with music items. In the organizer, you can select a folder and create an album (even a temporary one) just by choosing 'create instant album'. Suppose you have made an album from a folder or a selection of highlighted pictures to edit. You can order them in date order, import batch or 'custom' order'. Since PSE12 you can also sort them in filename order. You should never lose the 'focus' on your last edited picture when coming back from the editor to the organizer. If the purpose of that album is only to help in organizing an editing session, you simply delete the album (the playlist) if you don't want to keep the list afterward.
I hope someone will be able to confirm how that can happen...
    Edit;
I have just read Brian's post.
    That may be the difference...

  • Black thumbnails and negative images after import

I'm experiencing a problem with iPhoto 6 and some images importing with black thumbnails and negative main images.
I've tried replacing the sRGB Profile.icc (it wasn't missing for me), but that didn't work.
    Any suggestions?
1.83 GHz Intel Core Duo   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

Are those negative images B/W photos? If so they may be Grayscale mode. Download the "Embed sRGB Profile" Automator application form Toad's Cellar and drop the original files for those photos onto it. If it's a grayscale mode file it will correct the situation. iPhoto 6 does not play well with Grayscale images.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Enable video file and image file thumbnails WITHOUT enabling thumbnails for other filetypes

Hello. I am new to Mac and pulling my hair out at some of the limited UI options
I am wanting my image-files and video-files to appear in Finder (desktop etc) as thumbnails
However, I DON'T want PDFs, Excel, Word, PowerPoint files to have a preview thumbnail
Basically how things are now either way, it's very cumbersome visually to distinguish between file-types while cruising around my folders with a quick glance.
if thumbnail previews are on for all, its hard to tell at a quick glance which are PDFs, Excel files vs. images
similarly, the little "pdf" or "xlsx" or "docx" text overlay on these previews is so small and non-color coded as to be useless for quick-glance recognition of which filetype
if thumbnails are off, it's impossible to glance at files in a folder and know which image or video each is without wasting my precious miliseconds clicking on them, or trying to actually read truncated filenames
Here are some possible solutions which I hope somebody knows how to do:
globally enable or disable icon previews by filetype (preferred)
stipulate adding overlayed mini icons to certain filetypes
example: if it's a pdf, show the icon preview, but overlayed on that would be the red Adobe pdf icon/logo roughly a quarter of the size of the file icon (like is possible in Windows 7).
this way image and video previews can be seen at a glance, but having a big red or green or blue logo makes for immediate recognition of filetype
(least prefered but could help) ...somehow change the font color and increase the font size of the overlayed "pdf" "xlsx" "doc" "pptx"currently standard on these filetypes while showing icon preview but ALL are miniscule black text no matter which filetype
I'm quite dumbfounded right now that something for better immediate-glance filetype recognition isn't standard, or at least easily Google'able. All I've found is the Either/Other bamboozle.
Would love it to hear of a solution for this. Thanks all.

Put all of your separate flash movies into one move, and then
    use flash to
load the movies into a top section of the flash document.
Your site (this page) sounds like it would be best viewed
    entirely in Flash
    (at least easiest w/o reloading).

  • Is is possible to have the images as thumbnails and make it so you can click on them for a larger view and then click them again to have it go back to the original size? In an interactive pdf?

I am designing an interactive catalog in a pdf. Is it possible to have the images as a thumbnail and then click them to enlarge the image and then click again to make them go back to the original size?
    Thank you in advance!
    Stephanie

It can be done with Show/Hide buttons:
Here's a button created from a small version of the image (notice that it's selected in the image below):
The small button has a Show/Hide Buttons and Forms action. It's action is to make the Larger Image visible (eyeball turned on) with the small image hidden (eyeball turned off).
The large image is also turned into a button (shown below):
Notice the checkbox "Hidden Until Triggered". The large button is hidden until it's triggered by the small button. Clicking on the large image also causes a Show/Hide action which shows the Small button and hides the large button.

  • PS CS6 Win7 taskbar thumbnails and peek images blank

Most the the Creative Suite misbehaves with respect to the Windows 7 taskbar. One behavior that's particularly unproductive is seeing a bunch of gray icons for open application windows, and having the associated full size peek image grayed out too. I frequently work with many open image windows that I prefer to keep undocked. If they're minimized, more often than not there's a gray taskbar preview.
    Screen capture example attached.
Once I click on the thumbnail and activate a window, the thumbnail taskbar image updates. But when I switch between applications, the updated thumbnails will usually go blank next time I peek at the PS6 taskbar.

I'm not seeing misbehavior, in that I appear to be getting all the thumbnails, but interestingly I'm not seeing the titles in the Taskbar Live Previews like you are.  Maybe it's because I have the Taskbar set to show buttons with the names in them...  I can also see the document title if I hover over the icon.
Regarding why you would be failing to see the document images...  Seems quite likely that would be a display driver issue.  What video card and driver version do you have?
Sorry if we discussed these details before; I recognize your username though I don't recall what we discussed in other threads.

  • Aperture constantly rebuilds same thumbnails and preview images.

What is behind Aperture 2's pathological obsession with constantly rebuilding the same thumbnails and preview images, and is there any way to stop it? I can't link this performance killing problem to any specific action on my part; I see it in many different circumstances. For example:
    (1) Putting the system to sleep while Aperture is open then resuming later
    (2) Hiding the Aperture app, working on other memory consuming apps for a while (e.g. Photoshop), then returning to Aperture
    (3) Switching from one project to another via the "Projects" tab.
    (4) Quitting Aperture then restarting it.
I can say with 100% certainty that this is not the result of some previous thumbnailing/preview generation operation that was interrupted. The # of images in the project doesn't seem to have a bearing. Nor does the type of camera or image type I've imported from the camera.
I can be happily working in Aperture, working with a project created months ago, when all of a sudden the "generating thumbnails" message and the dreaded Wait Cursor appear and my speedy, well-apportioned iMac grinds to a total halt while Aperture does the same ** thing it's already completed before.
The only hit I get when searching Apple's support site mentions a known bug for those who upgraded from Aperture 1 to version 2 but definitely does not apply to me here.

Thank you for the reply Tony. I've followed your suggestion but Aperture continues to (apparently) randomly decide to regenerate thumbnails and previews.
The problem has become bad enough that I've had to stop using Aperture completely.
Doesn't anybody from Apple read these forums? I can't possibly be the only Aperture user in the world to experience this problem...

  • Creating image thumbnail and loading to image control

    Hi All
Is there way of creating thumbnail of image in flex 3.0 desktop app AIR of any size (2 mb ,etc) and then loading it to the image control
    please help....
    Thanks

Instead of using FileOutputStream to output your thumbnail to the filesystem, use the ServletOutputStream returned by ServletResponse.getOutputStream() to stream your data back to the browser client. Make sure you set your MIME type appropriately using ServletResponse.setContentType() so the browser knows what kind of data it is receiving and can handle it appropriately.

  • Folders and images change when hard drive disconnected

I have no problem importing images. From CD's, when the CD is removed the file folder and images stay there with reference to the original location.
However, I have several hard drives and when I import files and folders from one of them and then disconnect it, Lightroom renames all the folders and changes the images--What is causing this?????

Yes, the images stay on the external drive as I don't move them upon import. I have 5 external Hard Drives and my problem is with the two larger ones, both Firewire 800 if that matters. In any case, the files imported from the non 800 drives do not have any problems. They are noted as not being on-line when I disconnect the drive, but thumbnails, location and file naming are all the same. With the 800 drives, the images corrupt AND change name. A few will still show a path to the original, but the folder they are in has nothing to do with where they came from.
