Thumbnails are displayed as Hourglass

I use Elements 8. When I launch the Organizer, my thumbnails for my most recent images (approx. the last two months) display as an hourglass, and it takes minutes to change to normal display. All my older pictures ( more than 2 months) display normally.

Use File...Catalog to open the Catalog Manager window. Select your catalog in the bottom section, and hit the "Repair" button (use "Repair anyway" if prompted), then hit the "Optimize" button.

Thumbnails are not displaying in LR4.4 64bit on I7 laptop with 16gb ram

I cannot get thumbnails to display the image in library mode. I can click on develop on a particular blank thumbnail (blank thumbnails are dislayed and they are numbered).
What settings do I change? I am using an i7 laptop with 16gb ram. Wins 7.

Browser thumbnails not displaying correctly

I've noticed that in some of my projects, some of my photos show the wrong thumbnail. Instead they show a thumbnail from one of the other photos in the project.
If I make an adjustment to the photo, then the thumbnail updates. But after a while it returns to its old incorrect state.
However the problem is with large projects I can't tell which images are displaying the correct thumbnails, so it appears as if some images are missing (or repeated).
Is anyone else experienceing this?

Yes i have the same problem.
I imported some pictures from my memory card and started stacking while the previes was created.
Currently i have pictures in the stack showing images from other stacks in the thumbnail view. When the image is selected the right image shows up in the viewer.
Any solutions ?

Preview Thumbnails not displaying...

I am working with CS3 Bridge 1.0.0.545, running OS 10.4.11 on an iMac
Whenever I launch Bridge, I get an error message telling me that there is a problem with the database, and "......" was not updated correctly. This may affect searches (see attachment Picture 10).
I have no choice but to click OK, and then I am unable to see any preview thumbnails. All folders appearing in the left panel are displaying as though they are empty, even though they contain files. (see attachment Picture 16)
So I am always told that there are no items to display.
These same files display perfectly in Bridge CS3, on my computer at the office....
This is getting very frustrating....Any suggestions?

That version of Bridge is known to damage and even disappear files. Update to to Bridge 1.0.4.6 ASAP. It's a free update.
While you're at it, make sure you have updated to Photoshop 9.0.2.
Once you have updated, you will need to Purge the Cache through the Tools menu in Bridge.

My PDF bookmarks are displaying weirdly

My PDF bookmarks are displaying weirdly: they are displaying in blank boxes (apart from the title), rather than as neat single line (or wrapped text) boxes. Also, the left-hand side of the Bookmark column is blank, the bookmark 'thumbnails' are way over to the right ..?? Any idea what's going on?? I'm on a Mac, Acrobat 9

Please check with other PDF files how does the bookmarks appear as this might be a document specific issue.
What version of MAC OS are you using?
Was this PDF created using Acrobat or other tool?

New thumbnails showing up as hourglass older ones fine Photoshop elements 7

I had been using Adobe photoshop elements 7 for several years now with no problems. about a week ago my thumbnails began not showing up on newly added photos. All of the older photo's thumnails show up as usual in the organizer, however anything new I add either by scan or with my camera now shows up as an hourglass thumbnail. When I select it the full size shows up as a regular picture/photo. Just thumbnails showing up as hourglass (only on newly added ones all older ones still show up correctly. Can not find any way or setting to get this back to way it belongs. I uninstalled the program and reinstalled it and still not working....

Not sure what OS are you using.
Assuming it is Windows, Close Organizer. 1.Go to Start panel, Type %programdata%
2. Go to Adobe folder.
3. Then Elements Organizer folder.
4. Click on Catalogs folder.
5. Locate the exact catalog you are using, click on the name.
6. Delete the file face.thumb.9.cache and thumb.5.cache.
7. Then go to BreezeData folder, Delete the file BreezeSession.dat.
Open PSE Organizer, it should generate all thumbnails.

What version of Acrobat are you using, and what OS/version? What happens when you change the Page Display preferences to use the System Setting for resolution, as opposed to a custom resolution?

Thumbnails are upside down

I'm using CS2 and when I go to open a file eg jpg, the thumbnails are all upside down! I tried reinstalling the program but it didn't help. It didn't do this till last week. Perhaps an automatic patch messed up? How do I fix it? Help...

Have you installed any Codec or Shell Extension.... Nope
A Google search turns up a number of folks reporting a similar problem, and fixes range from reconfiguring an XVid codec to updating display drivers to reinstalling Windows. Obviously we don't want you to have to start over. oh no please :|
Do you have another user account on your computer you could log into? If so, does the same problem exist? I will have a colleague login to my PC on Monday and let you know.
If so, on a hunch, try visiting the web site of the maker of your video card and downloading the latest update to the display driver they offer for your hardware.
By the way, are they rotated 180 degrees, or mirror-flipped vertically? If the latter, that sounds more like it could be a display driver issue. The images are mirror-flipped vertically. So I would need to search for a display driver for Windows 7...?

Certain pictures are oblong format but thumbnails are upright format

The iPhoto on my wifes iMac (G5 iMac,MacOS 10.4.10, iPhoto 6.0.6) shows a bizarre behaviour since a couple of days:
Some pictures that were taken in upright format, first appeared in oblong format (which is normal). After my wife has turned them in iPhoto to the upright format, they appear upright in the overview. But if you doubleclick them, they are displayed in oblong format. An export of these pictures showed, that the originals were not turned to upright format but just the thumbnails.
Affected are only newly turned pictures, not the older ones.
I already launched iPhoto holding down command-option and rebuild the library and the thumbnail cache, but this did not help.
What else could I try?

I now know, when the phenomenon appears:
It appears, when I import the pictures using a card reader instead of connecting the camera directly to the computer.

Import appears to work but when choose STOP, no thumbnails are generated

I've been using iMovie 08 to import with Canopus 55 as converter from VHS deck. Yesterday it worked fine and i left my MacBook Pro on overnght. This morning I can choose IMPORT, I've tried adding to existing EVENT and creating new event and the import screen displays the input video but when I hit STOP, the video isn't importing. I have seen the THUMBNAILs being generated screen taking several minutes for a 15 sec clip and no thumbnails appear. OR I hit STOP and the import screen goes blue with STOPPED on it, but no thumbnails are generated. If I need to clear iMovie pref, I don't remember how. Thanks alot.

Do you know what version of flash you were upgrading from? I want to try to reproduce this.
In the meantime, if you really need the flash right now, I would suggest downloading google chrome browser. It comes with its own package of flash and should work despite it not working with your safari.

I have an iPhone 6 with 64 GB of memory. I have iTunes Match turned on my account and on the phone. Suddenly, the Music app is only displaying music purchased directly from iTunes and no playlists are displayed. This occurred after updating iTunes Match on my PC; when new music did not appear, I turned off iTunes Match off/on the PC then did the same on iPhone 6. It looks like iTunes Match is trying to do a full download to the phone but it never completes. Ideas?

Problem summary: Not all users are displayed for log on after a reboot or startup...
This problem only occurs after a fresh start-up or restart. The only users displayed are the initial (admin user) and "Guest". Two other (non-admin) users are not shown for log on.
To work around this problem and get them to log on we have to log on as the admin user, then we can see the other users in the Fast User Switching menu (top right-hand corner of the screen), listed under the current logged on user. After selecting the non-admin user we can log in and use the laptop as normal.
If we lock the screen, use fast user switching or log out all users; all users are available for log in, until a reboot is done; at which point the non-admin users disappear again and we have to log in as the admin user and use fast user switching again.
The laptops are both brand new MacBook Airs. The initial configuration of Mac OS X Yosemite was done using the Apple ID of the purchaser (parent) and then the OS was patched, immediately, through the App store (no further updates available as of the date of this posting). After this Family Sharing was activated and new users set up for the two children who will be using these laptops.
Has anybody else experienced this problem with Yosemite?

Users not enabled for FileVault unlock are only able to log into the computer after an unlock-enabled user has started or unlocked the drive. Once unlocked, the drive remains unlocked and available to all users, until the computer is restarted.
FileVault has to be On.
To Enable the users to be able to unlock FileVault Go to:
System Preferences > Security & Privacy > FileVault ( Tab ) > Click the Lock in the bottom left > Put in your administrator password > Should see an option to Enable Users > Enable User.
