Thumbnails blurry then normal.

When I'm viewing my collection of pictures, if I scroll down or up too much too fast then I notice the pictures will be blurry for a few seconds before they are normal, it's not such a big deal but sometimes waiting for them to un-blur can be annoying.
I have made a cache for all of the options (256, 1024 and full size), and enabled 100% previews, but it didn't fix this.
Is there anything I can try to disable this, or is this just how the program works? thanks.

Where is the option of quick thumbnails? I have a pretty nothing-special video card, just a standard one for a notebook so it's very likely it could be the problem and can't render all the high resolution pictures fast enough, if that's the problem it's fine, I just thought maybe it was some option somewhere that I had on.

  • IPhoto 11: Thumbnails show as normal, but photos are blank

Hello everyone.   I have a problem that I bet is common, but I'm not seeing it here in the discussions, maybe from people describing it as different things.
I just opened iPhoto 11 to access some photos, went through the thumbnails, found the ones I wanted, clicked...and I get a black screen.   Same for ALL the photos I've tried.
I know there have been many people with problems after upgrading to iPhoto 11, but I have had it for some time without issues, in fact the most recent photos I'd imported into the program were a month ago, when it seemed to be working normally.
I made a backup copy of my iPhoto Library, and used two of the 'rebuild' functions, 'Repair the iPhoto Library Database' and 'Examine and Repair the iPhoto Library file permissions' but the problem is still there.
Will likely go ahead with the rest of the 'Rebuild' functions but would welcome some knowledgeable advice.
    Thanks in advance!

Yesterday I d/led the demo version of iPhoto Library Manager, opened it, and it immediately 'found' the Library and everything displayed correctly--within iPLM.
Curious if that would carry over to iPhoto itself, I then opened it and...it did.   Then I closed iPLM and iPhoto, reopened the latter by itself, and again it was fine.   24 hrs later it all seems back to normal.
I have no idea how iPhoto Library Manager works but it solved this problem.

  • Doc thumbnails blurry

Recently two of my Dock thumbnails have become blurry (pixilated) instead of the normal clear and sharp.  First, Firefox and today the Downloads folder.
Could this be a virus or a signal that my computer is failing?  I use OS 10.7.5

Where is the option of quick thumbnails? I have a pretty nothing-special video card, just a standard one for a notebook so it's very likely it could be the problem and can't render all the high resolution pictures fast enough, if that's the problem it's fine, I just thought maybe it was some option somewhere that I had on.

  • 5th gen iPod freezes when play iTunes video, then sad icon, then normal

I tried to watch some Tv shows I downloaded from iTunes and sometimes it would play. Then the next time I select the video it freezes to a black screen. Sometimes I can press "menu" and return it the the main screen. But if I select the video again, it freezes completely on the black screen. I do a "reset" and then I get the sad face icon. I plug it into the computer and it says it is corrupted. If I leave it alone plugged into the computer, it tries to start itself about every 15 mins and the sad face icon appears. If I wait awhile more, it will restart itself, connect to iTunes, and be back to normal. As long as I don't play a video. I don't see any posts with a similar issue. Anyone have a clue?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
Right click the video in iTunes and go to convert selection for iPod. Does it convert again (through iTunes)?
If so, update the iPod and see if it works.
    If not, try these...

  • GF Ti4800SE - Blurry Through normal D-sub/vga port

I've got a GF Ti4800SE card, connecting it to my monitor (21in CRT, running at 1600x1200@85Hz) through the normal D-sub port the image quality is very blurry. However if I connect it using the DVI port and the DVI-VGA converter the image is fine.
I’d have no problem with just using the DVI-VGA converter, however, I wish to use two monitors now.
I’ve tried, updating the bios, re-installing/cleaning drivers, running the comp with only the gfx card in.
I’m assuming I’ve just got a dodgy card, but I’m hoping otherwise as I can foresee it taking some time and a lot of hassle to return it for repair.
    Any help much appreciated.
    Thx.
    Comp spec:
    21in Sony E500 CRT
    21in Sony 500PS CRT
    1.4 TBird
    A-bit KT7A-Raid

Cool, thx for all the replies... I checked back a few times and thought no one was going to reply. Impatient I guess.
    Anyways,
Kingfisher: Yeah I've got the latest drivers and colour management profiles for both monitors, and the latest bios for my MB, and installed VIA Hyperion 4in1 drivers.
    GlennVidia: It's a Ti4800SE-VTD8X
frOzEn: Yeah, I've tried from very refresh rate from 60-85. Still v.blurry.
Edit: Also for some reason when I connect both monitors the comp detects four!.
I've tried uninstalling the 'imaginery monitors' but the card just detects them again when I reboot.
Does anyone know if the 2 ports on the card are supposed to give different quality outputs, for non-LCD/TFT screens that is?
(BTW, I use a BNC cable with the Sony-500PS monitor, even though it's never seemed to make any difference to a norm vga-cable, since I've had it).
    Thx, again everyone...
Oh, I spoke to the vendor and he said that it has a 2-year-manufacturers-warranty and to return it to MSI, and that it would take about 3-4 weeks for them to repair it. (BTW, It's 8 months old).

  • TS2932 Aperture 3.5.1 thumbnail picture shows normal.  When I click on the image to view full screen the filter effect is gone and all images appear really dark and almost blue in tone.  I also have photos that are distorted.  The faces are out of proport

Thumbnails appear normal.  But the master image is totally wrong...

No.  Also, There seems to only be one project that is doing this... here's a screen shot of another project that appears normal.

  • My computer is slower then normal

In 2011 i bought the best macbook pro i could, and i have been very happy with its performance. I upgraded to 8GB ram and when i first got it no matter how many applications i had running it rarely dipped below 4GB ram available.
My computer is noticeably slower now then it was when i bought it, and if i look at the activity monitor even with absolutly no apps running it only shows 3.5GB ram available.
Do i need to defrag my mac? or what els could i do to speed it up and free up some ram?
is it possibly from a virus or something?  I used to be a pc guy so i dont know much about macs
any advice will help! thanks a lot:)

This is definitely not caused by any kind of malware!
Note that you should not be obsessing over how much free RAM you have. Free RAM is wasted RAM. Start worrying if you begin to have RAM-related issues, in which case the Page Outs value in Activity Monitor's memory pane will start climbing. If that value gets to within 10% of Page Ins, or more, that's an indication that you're running short on RAM for the tasks you're doing.
You definitely don't need to defrag, or do any of the other kind of "cleaning" that is typical on a Windows PC. See The myth of the dirty Mac.
But all that is telling you what the problem isn't... regarding what the problem is, take a look at my Mac Performance Guide. If it doesn't help you, post back here, with details that resulted from the things you did while working through that guide.

  • Exported audio is high pitched rather then normal

After i edit a sound clip cutting and moving them around. Everything sounds normal and good, but once i export the audio clip and play the exported file. It sounds like its playing twice as fast and speed up. I don't know what to do. Can someone please tell me whats going on?

I'm having this problem as well. I think it has to do with mixing sampling rates. My project is 48k and I had one track in 44.1. Other 48k tracks sounded fine in the export mix, but the 44.1k music sounded sped up. I worked around it for now, but resampling the music track before using it, but this is an annoying extra stamp that I never needed before.
I should also note, that this issue is not consistent for me. Some 44.1 tracks mix in just fine.

  • Image/graphic quality is not as good as IE or Chrome, in other words, Firefox is blurrier then the other. How to solve this?

Firefox is showing blurry images and text. I don't have this problem with IE, the image is much more sharper and clean.

    Hi,
    Welcome to the    Discussions
So we have DSL Modem <-> Base Station <-> Computer connected by Ethernet.
    Is the Modem Routing ?
Is the Base Station set to "Share An IP" ?
(i.e are there two DHCP servers on your LAN ?)
Is Internet Sharing On in th G5s System Preferences > Sharing pane ?
In the Base Station is Port Mapping Protocol Enabled if it is doing routing ?
It is in the NAT tab of the Internet Pane.
Is the G5 also doing WiFi to the Base Station ?
Also check the Modem is not Blocking PINGS as this log shows no PING (But I am not sure it even got that far)

  • Settings for: Internet faster then normal on WIFI!...

i have found that changing a simple setting, allows you to have faster internet while on wifi, at the expense of battery power.
while i thought that my microb browser was fast already, it blinks pages (some) instead of loading.
pretty simple actually, just came accross it while messing with my settings.
    settings/internet connections/connections
choose your wifi connection to test it on/edit/next/next/next/advanced
    click on the "other" tab
    power saving drop-down/choose (On(max), On(inter), Off)
after choosing off, it will give you a warning about battery power...wont hurt anything.
    voila!
faster internet.   give it a couple of minutes to take effect, then open a new microb and try it out!
    hope that helped.

    Thank you very much!
