Thumbnails layout

Hi all,
after the installation of SP15 we can't see pictures in Thumbnail layout, only the icons of the document. What can it be?

Hi Inna,
good news! Looks like the note is now release, here the direct <a href="https://service.sap.com/~form/handler?_APP=01100107900000000342&_EVENT=DISPL_TXT&_NNUM=911395/">link</a>, and the patch as well.

How to display thumbnail image of file in KM navigation layout

Hi, I'm using a km nav iview to display some files to my users. The files are all images and it would be more useful if the images could be displayed right upfront instead of clicking on the file name and having the page reload with preview.
I am aware of the layout "TreeList preview explorer", does anyone know of another way to add a thumbnail next to the file name just in a new column instead of in the preview area?

Create Collection with a defined layout (thumbnail)- KM API

Hi, I have developed a code that create a folder (collection) in KM using de the API. But I have the problem, that the folder have to be set with thumbnail layout. Have anyone any idea of how to do that?. Thanks

    I wrote this code to set a layout set in a folder:
configurarLayout receive as parameter a folder an a user. The idea is for this user and folder set a layout set profile "Managers_NewsBrowser_Profile".
Don't forget to create this profile, for it you only need to configure from portal.

PDF Portfolio Navigator with horizontal tab layout

Hello, Experts
         I am trying to create a PDF Portfolios with horizontal tab layout structure;
         several .NET libraries allowed me to create PDF files with thumbnail layout, but, in order to populate a horizontal tab
         layout, it seems, I would need to create a custom PDF navigator and import it into PDF Portfolio prior to inserting PDF file components ?
        preinstalled navigators look great, but I just need a simple horizontal tab view, where each tab only contains file's name and nothing else;
         buy clicking on each tab - corresponding file would be activated in the viewer
       is there any library of predesigned navigators that I can use ?
        is there any way to extract navigator from one and import it into another PDF portfolio ?
       would I need to use Flash or can this be done via .NET ?

can't see the Navigator project wizard in Flex Builder ( 4.6 )
The plugins have been extracted to:

The NavigatorSupport folder has been extracted to:

Can I create a portfolio slideshow using custom thumbnails?

Hi. After searching the forums and watching several Lynda tutorials, I can't seem find an answer to my specific question. I'm creating a new portfolio website for myself and for the actual portfolio page, I went ahead and created custom thumbnails for each of the pieces I want to display and gave them all the same rollover state (see the screen capture image below of how I'd like them to look when hovered over).
I was expecting to be able to use them as a trigger to get a pop-up slideshow, but it appears the only way to do so in Muse is by using one of the pre-existing widgets. I know you can customize the widgets, but I don't see any way I can use the custom thumbnails I already created. Am I overlooking something or can this simply not be done in Muse and I have to change my thumbnail layout to match what the widgets allow?
And for a secondary question, my portfolio images are all different sizes (depending on the type of design, of course). Do any of the widgets in Muse have the ability to change their size and shape based on the image? Or do I have to make all of the images fit into the same size window?

sebrame Thanks for pointing out the compsition widget! I was able to make the gallery with it, without moving my project to dreamweaver! I don't know about your slideshow widget, but for me it doesn't let me to make the triggers different sizes. If you resize one thumbnail, it will resize all of them at the same time. :/

RimVai Yeah, last week I actually made it with the composition widget - which was truly more time consuming than the slideshow > lightbox widget. But there're actually some little presets making it just a bit less hard with compositions. (You just have to be extra careful when adding the images.)
You may know these already, but I write them here in case someone who doesn't know happens to read this thread.
You don't need to add all 200 thumbnails one by one. Just place the composition widget, and then use the "place" tool to add all your images. Click the very first thumbnail box with the place tool: Muse will automatically add all 200 pictures into separate 200 thumbnails that you'll then be able to rezise and move around. The order of the pictures (without broking the link between the lightbox picture and the thumbnail) can be changed after adding the lighbox pictures, by moving the thumbnail object to front or behind within the widget.
While adding the lightbox image, make 100% sure that you are in the lighbox page of the very first thumbnail, then use the "place" tool again and click the box that should be holding the content of the first thumbnail. It will again place all 200 pictures into the separate lighbox "pages" or whatever they are called. If you were in the box of the first thumbnail, the pictures will now be in order, and linked to their correct thumbnails.
I agree, the composition is much more inconvinient to use than the slideshow widget, but in my case I really needed different size thumbnails for my gallery. So for me it was worth the work, I guess. The best thing Muse developer team could do with this, would be to enable the different size thumbnails with slideshow widget as well, but before that happens this was the best option for me.

Thumbnails in WebDAV

when i access a "KM directory" (DB Repository) via WebDAV interface, the thumbnails of images are not displayed.
Is there any chance to display the thumbnails via WebDAV?

Hello Jörg,
When you are working with WebDAV you are working in the windows environment. Or so I suspect. This means you lose all extra's such as thumbnail layout that where added by the portal.
I can not test this for the moment but the only thing I could suggest is trying to change the view of this windows folder using webdav. ( so don't use IE but go to webdav making a network drive). Right click the folder and pick the windows thumbnail view.

PDF Thumbnail

Hi All,
I have a folder with images and other type of documents (ex. PDFs,PPTs...)
I used a modified Thumbnail Layout Set to have a Images preview...
I know to have a Pdf preview I need a Thumbnail PlugIn, but I'm looking only to have a bigger PDF ICON!!!
That means, I have a 100x100 image preview, but a very small PDF icon... ;(
a problem is also if I change the PDF.gif in /etc/public/mimes/images
I change the pdf default icon size... not really so interesting...
Is there any way to set a default image for PDF 100x100 Thumbnail ????
I was looking also for something like having a two Collection List Renderer Settings,
one for images, one for other documents... but I think it's not possible...

IPhoto 6.0.4 hangs/crashes

I cannot construct a web page, edit a photo, double-click on a thumbnail, layout a calendar, or make an iPhoto book without it hanging mid-process. Oddly enough, if I change to full screen mode, I can view any photo and even edit it.
I have reinstalled the program from the iLife disk then upgraded, rebuilt the library, imported the orginals again, deleted the plist, and run Batchmod--not necessarily in that order.
Is anybody else struggling with 6.0.4?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. To rule out any messed up permissions download and run BatChmod on the iPhoto Library folder with the settings shown here, substituting your account name for mine. You can either type in the path to the folder or just drag the folder into that field.
Also run OnyX to clean out the user caches and run the cron maintenance scripts.

How to create slideshow for pictures on blank page

G'day,
I'm just starting to use iWeb 09 and would like to ask a really basic question. My apologies in advance if it has been asked and answered in the past.
I have created a page using the "blank page" template and added some text and pictures. On the photo page, I understand that you can click on a photo to see a larger version and to run a slideshow. Is it possible to create this functionality for pictures placed on a blank page? Or is this functionality only available on a photo album page?

I believe you can do so. Create the photo page, click on the thumbnail layout box and copy it. Go to the blank page and paste. You'll have to lengthen the page using the Inspector/Page/Layout pane so the entire thumbnail layout box is visible in the body. Then go back and delete the photo page.
This test slideshow page was copied from another site in iWeb and pasted on a blank page: PhotoCopy. It seems to work just like the Photo page.

"My portfolio" presents the reports in unrecognized format

Hello,
Under the "Business Intelligence" tab in the portal a user can go to "My portfolio" and see there all the reports that have been published to him.
The iView uses a thumbnail layout and includes a download link that allows the user to download or view the report.
The problem is that when clicking on download the downloaded file does not have any extension and it is in unrecognized format.
If I view this file in the KM it appears to be with MIME Type: Binary file (application/zip).
If I save it as zip file (after adding .zip extension manually in the download window), unzip it and view it's index.html I than have a link to the report.
How can I save all this by simply providing the user a link to the report?

This problem has been resolved by changing the broacasting output format.

KM How to Change Sandard Folder Symbols to Images

Hi
I try to change the stanadard folder symbols on a km repository directory to specific images or symbols. Is it possible to set up a folder layout that looks like the thumbnails layout. I changed the Resource Renderer Settings or try to add additional properties but it doesn't works.
Is there anybody with experience in layout design configuration

Just to place the name under the image you can write in the displayed properties of the collection renderer something like that:

However, to create a true thumbnails display you should advance copy ConsumerThumbnailExplorer and play with it a little to achieve your gole.
for example:
In the copy of ConsumerThumbnailAlignRenderer you can change Row Spacing and Column spacing. Also you can set Folders Selection and Links Selection to all, and in the copy of ConsumerThumbnailTaxonomyRenderer change Folders Selection and Links Selection and Files Selection to off that way you get a simple breadcrumb on top and a thumbnails display on the bottom that displays files folders and links all together.

Copy Pages from Page Thumbnail pane to a Layout document?

How can one copy a single page or range of pages from the Thumbnail pane of a word processing mode document to an open Layout mode document?

It doesn't appear that it can be done. Probably because the page layout mode doesn't support the text layer that the word processing mode has. You could select any text, copy & then paste it on to the PL document which will create a text box. Any objects could also be selected, copied & pasted. It would require two steps as there is no way to select both the text layer & the objects in word processing except by copying the thumbnail.

Help with layout of photo thumbnails

Is there anyway to change the layout of the thumbnails on photo pages created in iWeb? I know how to change the distance between photos, how many rows, etc., but is there a way to change the display? Perhaps a larger photo with tiny thumbnails beside that? I don't like how all the thumbnails are displayed on the page, and then you have to hit "play slideshow" to view them. Many thanks in advance.

The only way that I know of to increase the size of the thumbnails is to reduce the number of columns and the spacing between them. The largest thumbnail is obtained by 1 column. If you double click on a thumbnail you will bring up a larger version of the photo with a thumbnail tray of the others on the top llike in this example. You don't have to enter the slideshow mode.
There are other methods of presenting photos. These demo pages have examples of them:

I don't mind it taking a long time, as long as the results are repeatable as I want to be able to do this with 20 fabrics or so and I want it to look as real as possible. I am a novice at Photoshop, would you recommend I pay someone to accomplish this? How long do you think it would take? Is it something I could learn because I plan on doing 20 of them and maybe more?
