Thumbnails not displaying

My old laptop tried to self-destruct, so I was forced to move a huge amount of art files to a new laptop. Now, I have no thumbnails in Photoshop (PS3 using XP Professional) and oddly enough, it appears that often entire folders and files aren't showing up when they're actually there. The only thing I'm seeing is the PSD logo. .tifs, .jpgs, and other formats aren't even showing up as being on the disk.
I've gone through all settings that I know of and can't seen to find the 'fix'. Any clues?

Odd, tho - it's the exact same operating system I had on the old computer. It's the exact same version of Photoshop (CS3) - except that they (Adobe) had me do the 'workaround' for all these upgrades all these years, rather than my starting by installing PS7 and going thru all the upgrades I've bought all over the years. I think this is where the problem is.
Anyway, as stated previously (why isn't my post here where I posted it earlier????) we have three computers for our business and only one has the processor that will support Bridge. So, the workaround IS important if the processor can't handle bridge and crashes the entire system.
And Yani, what I'm seeing is the Photoshop icon instead of the thumbnail for .psd files.

Thumbnail not displaying when attaching image to email

Suddenly my Mac is not displaying a thumbnail image when I go to attach an image to an email. I have fixed permissions, restarted and relaunched Finder, but it's still not displaying. I've also unchecked and rechecked "show icon preview" in View Option while in the Finder. Anyone know any solutions?

Couple of ideas...
• After you have attached the image and it is showing in the email, right-click or Control-click the displayed image. From the menu that appears, select "View as icon". Then send it as a test.
• Once the image has been attached, fiddle with the Image Size dropmenu choices - this dropmenu is located in the lower right corner of the New Message window after adding the image.

.mov thumbnails not displaying in Bridge CC

My .mov file thumbnails do not display in Bridge CC. It worked previously with CS6. Mac Operating system 10.6.8
Tried purging cache without any luck. Any suggestions.

Still waiting on and answer for this. Has anyone found a fix? I can view my .mov thumbnails in Bridge CS6 but not CC. I have all the latest Adobe and Mac OS X 10.10.2 and QT updates. I've removed the media cache folder and purged my cache - every possible fix I've seen on the internets and still, not thumbnails for .mov files in Bridge CC. I'm working on an important video project for a client and this is the first video assignment I've worked on with CC and so far, it's not working out well.

Bug: thumbnails not displaying on library grid view

Since using v1.0 the thumbnails will not display on the grid view (there is simply a grid of empty grey squares which can be clicked on). All beta versions worked fine. I started a new library with no improvement. All other screens work as expected. Using Windows XP SP2. Any ideas?

joel, I'm experiencing the same issue - the thumbnails start to appear but once they get to the point where they would be fully loaded, they disappear. I used beta as well, and that worked perfectly fine. Just sent in a ticket to the customer support at adobe, hopefully they can help with a solution. I'm only running the trial version of lightroom.
Where you able to figure out a solution?

MTS thumbnails not displaying in PrE9

I have a thumbnail problem. I just bought PrE9 because I was unhappy with Studio V14's slow/jerky performance with AVCHD. I have a Canon HF20 and used Windows to move the videos (MTS's) over to my harddrive. They are all HD videos in MTS format. My PC is a Dell Pentium D, 3.46GHz, 4GB DDS RAM, 1GB of "free" harddisk space, ATI 4670 Graphics Card.
I had imported a number of MTS files from my Canon to harddisk using Windows and then imported them from harddisk into Organizer. The thumbnails were blank so I deleted them and tried re-importing just one clip but got the same problem. The clip can be inserted into a timeline and shows up with the first frame of the video but has a blank thumbnail in both Organizer and PRE. They play fine in either PrE9 and Organizer. Any suggestions.

Thanks for posting the screenshots. Thumbnail drawing does not seem to be taking place at all.
I dont think it is a codec related problem because had that been the case the playback also wouldn't have worked.
There is another place the thumbnails are seen and that is the "Project" view. Can you check if the thumbnails are seen in this view ?
Also, on the system running Pentium D how much RAM do you have ? Adobe states a minimum of 2 GB RAM for avchd editing.
(Though I would recommend 3 or 4GB). And since on your other system which has 8GB RAM things appear to be fine, low RAM could be
a potential reason for thumbnails not being seen. Again, I am just speculating.

Thumbnails not displaying in SAP BI Mobile app

Hello all,
I have published a Design Studio dashboard to the SAP BI App on Ipad and it's all working fine.
However, I haven't managed to customise an image to be displayed as Thumbnail when displaying all reports in the 'Tile Mode' (as opposed to the 'List Mode')
According to the Mobile App administration guide, I have added the image URL to the Keywords section in the document's properties but it has had no effect on the view (It just shows the tile as an empty white square).
Please see below the details of the environment:

SAP BusinessObjects Design Studio 1.2

Photo thumbnails not displaying in Media Browser

Every time I open a program that features the Media Browser (which is just about everything in Leopard, these days), I never see thumbnails for my iPhoto images. I just see exclamation point icons-- in other words, the images themselves are never displayed.
In iPhoto, I can see individual pictures, but not events. For events, the images are just embossed "blank" boxes. I don't understand what's happening... can anyone offer some help so I can get my Media Browser working the way it's supposed to... along with iPhoto?

Canon 7D2 RAW thumbnails not displaying in Finder

Does anyone know when Apple will provide an update so that 7D2 RAW files will display correctly as thumbnail images instead of just icons?
I do not use iPhoto and I do not wish to upgrade from Mountain Lion.

Page Thumbnails not displaying in Pages Panel

Hi all,
Hopefully a quick question...I've searched through the Forum and not spotted a similar issue.
I have a user who is experiencing an unusual issue in InDesign CS6 - Page Thumbnails aren't displaying in the Pages Panel (such that the panel is completely blank - no new page icon etc.), and Swatches aren't displaying in the Swatches Panel (default swatches or new swatches - the panel is completely blank). I've checked all of the Panel Display options, and have toggled the thumbnail display size up/down, and on/off to no avail. This problem is also non-document specific, it's happening on all documents either previously saved or freshly created. I've also tried multiple workspaces and that hasn't helped.
I've also tried binning the preferences and this hasn't helped...
Any thoughts where to start? My hunch is possibly plugins not working/missing, but I'm not sure what/where to check.
Any help would be very much appreciated...

I hate to have to bump an old topic, but replacing my prefs doesn't work either. Tried restarting the computer too. Nothing really works and I hate to have to waste time reinstalling when I doubt that would help at this point. (hates windows).

Photoshop CS 6 thumbnails not displaying on Windows 7

I have Creative Suite CS6 and just got a new Dell. After reinstalling the suite I found old photoshop files displayed their thumbnails and keywords fine in Bridge and photoshop. The new photoshop files I save only show imagename.psd and I am not able to assign them keywords in Bridge. All other formats work fine am I missing a preference somewhere? I have looked, but no joy on my searches. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

If it was a dll or msvc i should find an error in the eventlog. The only thing i got was a message box saying i need windows 7 to run is.
My Xp sp3 workstations have all the critical and recommended patches. Besides i already run photoshop cs 6 on this machines. The only difference is that i downloaded this version from cloud connect. I assume its a newer version, but still cs 6 (13.x)

Microsoft organizer clipart thumbnail not displaying correctly

We use MS Office 2010, when I try to do Insert>Clipart>then type a keyword(ie. ball). It displays the local clipart images but not the images from online Microsoft organizer. It just displays X-mark on the thumbnail.
I've already repaired MS Office, cleared temporary internet files but to no avail.
It will only work if you right-click on the thumbnail with X-mark, then choose 'make available offline' to save the clipart locally. This will take as you have to do it for each.
Has anyone experienced this issue and fixed it?

Preview Thumbnails not displaying...

I am working with CS3 Bridge 1.0.0.545, running OS 10.4.11 on an iMac
Whenever I launch Bridge, I get an error message telling me that there is a problem with the database, and "......" was not updated correctly. This may affect searches (see attachment Picture 10).
I have no choice but to click OK, and then I am unable to see any preview thumbnails. All folders appearing in the left panel are displaying as though they are empty, even though they contain files. (see attachment Picture 16)
So I am always told that there are no items to display.
These same files display perfectly in Bridge CS3, on my computer at the office....
This is getting very frustrating....Any suggestions?

That version of Bridge is known to damage and even disappear files. Update to to Bridge 1.0.4.6 ASAP. It's a free update.
While you're at it, make sure you have updated to Photoshop 9.0.2.
Once you have updated, you will need to Purge the Cache through the Tools menu in Bridge.

NEF Thumbnails not displaying in Bridge CS3

I decided to dip my toe into RAW images. However unlike jpegs and tiffs the NEF thumbnails are not rendering in Bridge CS3. However when I double-click on an unrendered thumbnail it does open normally. As seeing thumbnails would be very helpful I decided to do a software update to see if this would cure the problem. During the install process I got the following message - Installation Incomplete - The Updater is unable to locate the product to be updated - Adobe Camera Raw 4.6 Update failed to install.
Outcome - NEF thumbnails still not rendering. By the way my NEF images were produced on a Nikon D60.

Browser thumbnails not displaying correctly

I've noticed that in some of my projects, some of my photos show the wrong thumbnail. Instead they show a thumbnail from one of the other photos in the project.
If I make an adjustment to the photo, then the thumbnail updates. But after a while it returns to its old incorrect state.
However the problem is with large projects I can't tell which images are displaying the correct thumbnails, so it appears as if some images are missing (or repeated).
Is anyone else experienceing this?

Yes i have the same problem.
I imported some pictures from my memory card and started stacking while the previes was created.
Currently i have pictures in the stack showing images from other stacks in the thumbnail view. When the image is selected the right image shows up in the viewer.
Any solutions ?

Why are files 00003.MTS, 000004.MTS, 000009.MTS and 00010.MTS not showing a thumbnail? In the pane on the left you do not see a thumbnail of 000003.MTS but when clicked it shows as on the right. Also, why are the filenames out of sequence?
The camera is a Canon M50. The filtes were copied to hard disk and then imported into Premier Pro CS6, v6.02.
Any help greatly appreciated and thank you!

Those are sequences, not clips. Sequences don't get a thumbnail. Scroll up and you'll see the clips, which do have thumbnails.

Thumbnails not displaying on youtube or facebook.

I made some changes to my computer the other day and now have no idea how to fix what may have potentially caused the thumbnails on youtube and facebook to no longer display.
I checked to see if the thumbnails worked in Internet Explorer and Chrome and they did, so I know the problem is linked to Firefox.
Did a websearch to see how to fix this issue and tried each method to no avail. This included: disabling add-ons, changing the cookie settings, deleting history, checking settings under about:config. None of this worked.
I don't know what to do! It might be an actual computer setting, as opposed to a firefox setting, but I can't remember what I did or where.
