Thumbnails not linked to Files anymore

Last night I was organizing my computer, deleting old documents and such. Now, as soon as I opened iPhoto it asked me to select a Library, so I found the iPhoto library icon (I had accidentally moved it into a sub folder within my pictures folder) opened the folder...Whew! What a relief, all of my photos are in iPhoto now...or so I thought. If I look at "Photos" every thumbnail is there, if I look at "Events" they are blank until you open an event then all the thumbnails are there! I used spotlight to find the actual files in my computer, and they are located in "leanna>Pictures>iPhoto Library>Data>2012>NameofEvent>filename". I must have moved the files somehow so that now the path that iPhoto is using to find them is wrong...
To summarize, I have the thumbnails and the files but they are no longer linked together. Is there anyway to relink them or should I just wipe out iPhoto and reimport? Thanks in advance for your help!

Sorry but you're not very clear to me.
Neither the thumbnails, events nor photos are missing.
Seems to directly contradict
The Events are there, but blank no thumbnails or photos showing.
If you think you've deleted something then the quick and simple solution is to restore from your back up.

Template not linking to files in folders

Hi,
I have a template that is for about 5 folders. Each folder
has 3 html files in it. All the files in these folders are
identical.
The template has links set to go directly to those identical
pages in each folder.
For example:
Template
- home
- about
- contact
Folder
- home.html
- about.html
- contact.html
The problem, is that when I save and post, Dreamweaver is
adding /Templates/ into the link:
/Templates/home.html
How can I set the link, so that it stays in the same
directory/folder? I have tried ../ but this will take it to the
root directory.
Any help is appreciated!

Which DW? In versions prior to DW8, you would have to make
your links like
this -
<a href="@@('whatever.html')@@"...
and DW will leave those links alone. The downside is that by
leaving them
alone, they will not be managed, so you'll have to do that
yourself.
In DW8, just set your Site Definition > Templates to NOT
update relative
links. Make sure you understand how this will affect other
relative links
that you may *want* DW to manage....

My "Home" is a GIF file on my C: drive, but the Home button will not display the file anymore.

I am now on Firefox 6.0.2. Prior to this upgrade when I clicked the Home button I would see a GIF file from my hard drive displayed. This is how it was coded in my Options:
file:///C|/$USER/OTHER/BITMAPS/THINK.GIF
This file is also a Bookmark of mine and clicking that entry in the Bookmark bar works perfectly fine.
But now in 6.0.2 when I click Home it opens a new tab and then I get an error message saying:
Server not found.
Firefox can't find the server at www.$user.com.
and in the address bar it says:
http://www.$user.com/OTHER/BITMAPS/THINK.GIF
So my question is, why is it changing the "file:" specification to an invalid "http:" specification?

Thank you for the clue which solved the problem! I changed the "C|" to "C:" and it now works. But I am still mystified about what changed because my Home page has been set to file:///C|/$USER/OTHER/BITMAPS/THINK.GIF since my Netscape days, and like I said, it worked fine with the previous versions of Firefox, it only broke when I went to V6.0.2. The other mysterious thing is that my bookmark with the "|" instead of the ":" still works just fine, it only was broken with Home button, nowhere else. But now it works so I'm happy, thanks again.

Adobe will not create PDF files anymore

I have been using Adobe Acrobat 7.0 on my laptop for years, suddenly it stopped working. I try to reinstall and it won't activate so I still can't use it.. Why????

I am so sorry for the inconvenience caused. However this is just because Adobe Acrobat 7.0 is an outdated version & the now the activation server for it does not exist.
Please refer to the following KB doc. Error: "Activation Server Unavailable" | CS2, Acrobat 7, Audition 3
The above link will help you to install a special version that does not require activation.

Quicktime is not opening .mp4 files anymore

Hi, my quicktime stopped opening .mp4 files I record with my cellphone, that's pretty strange because I thought it was a problem with the phone but I can open them everywhere but in my Mac. This happen after I updated quicktime.
Does anybody knows what could it be?

I am having a similar problem. .mp4s are not playing. Used Handbrake to create an .mp4 file. It plays fine on every system but the one I need it to play on. Quicktime 7 won't play any video, just a white screen like it is missing a codec. I haven't had this problem before, and nothing has been recently installed that would effect Quicktime. Is there an easy way to reinstall the codecs? I've reinstalled Quicktime several times with no effect, recreated the .mp4 file several times, everything else plays fine. Any ideas?

Can not open PDF files anymore

My computer recently installed the latest Adobe reader and now I cannot open any PDF files, it looked like it is going to open, then closes. Does anyone know what the problem would be? I do have Norton 360 on my computer.

Lightroom 4 does not import RAW files from D610

I've just purchased Nikon D610, and my Lightroom 4 is not importing RAW files anymore. What is the problem?

The current version of LR 5 is 5.7 so I’d guess LR 6 will be out at some point later this year, in the next few months. If money’s no object then upgrade to LR 5, now and to LR 6 in a few months. If you’ll be very upset to learn you’ve paid $80 to upgrade and then need to pay another upgrade fee for LR 6 then maybe wait and do the DNG thing for a few months, and then upgrade from LR4 to LR6.
The other concern is whether your OS is new enough. I’d suggest you download the latest LR 5.7.1 update and run that in trial mode for a few weeks—you have 30 days, to make sure your computer can handle it, before spending the money and finding out you need a new computer, first.
The other thing to consider is the $10/month Photography Plan subscription which gets you the most up-to-date versions of Lightroom and Photoshop as long as you keep paying. Since you have your old LR4 serial number, you can decide to cancel the subscription after a year and use the LR4 serial number to buy the LR 6 upgrade, then. This assumes that LR 6 will be available as a serial-number-licensed product, still.

RH10 not creating XML files in whxdata

We converted from RH7 to RH10 earlier this year, and our application uses the XML files in whxdata to connect help buttons to topics. It seems that RH10 is not creating these XML files, which is breaking this functionality.
Some searching indicates that these files should be created when the primary WebHelp layout is being built. I can't find any settings anywhere that indicates whether or not they should be created.
Is this a consequence of the conversion, or does RH10 not create these files anymore?

We have updated the script to recursively convert all RH10/11 js inside whxdata and resource folder in to XML format. The steps to use the script is as follows:
2)      - Double click on the script.
3)      - Provide path of whxdata folder of RH10/11 output. All the js files will be converted to XML and will be placed in My Document\RoboHelp_XML. E50 not opening zip files

I have an e50 and a week ago I updated the software of the phone from the Nokia web site. The current version is 06.41.3.0. I am not sure but since then my phone does not open zip files anymore. When opening them from an email attachment it says the object is not supported. When opening them from the phone or mem. card it says unable to open. When trying to start the Zip Manager app. - nothing happens, just throws me back in the office folder.
Does anyone knows what is going on. Is there something wrong with the phone or just I do not know haw to work with it. All the rest supported files I can open /pdf, doc, xls, ppt/

A .zip file should open in StuffIt Expander when you double-click it; if not, open the StuffIt Expander application in your /Applications/Utilities/ folder and drag the file into the open StuffIt window. If you don't have StuffIt Expander on your computer, you can download it for free.

.MTS files in elements organizer: no thumbnails, not playing

Some google searching shows that i´m not alone with this problem, but i haven´t found a solution.
.MTS files plays in premiere elements (lagging terribly though) but not in elements organizer, where i get this error message:
Updated quicktime as suggested, no improvement.
Source of .MTS files is a Panasonic G5.
Running W7 64 bit. same problems in both elements organizer 11 & 12.
If it was a codec issue i assume it would not play in Premier elements either?
Any suggestions?

1. I'm using Premiere Elements 9. I have an Asus laptop with windows 8.1
2. I believe i have the latest driver. I have Intel HD Graphics. I ran a check to look for updated drivers and it came back as saying I had the latest.
Background
I've only had the laptop since October so that's how long the program has been on the computer.
I was able to use it a few days ago. At that time I had been using video from the same camera but that time it I had saved it originally to the camera's internal memory. When I had the problem last night it was with video I had saved to a memory card. A message which I do not remember came up asking if I'd like to change the preset as my current settings didn't match the video format. I said yes and then nothing worked after that. I can't even view the project I did several days ago now either.
How I search for the presets? I've never changed these before.
It is AVCHD file type and 1080 but I am unfamiliar with the how to know anything further.

You put yourself at a disadvantage by tagging on to an older thread and not starting a new thread of your own. I just saw your post now.
So let us get to the troubleshooting...
1. What version of Premiere Elements are you using and on what computer operating system is it running?
2. This has all the symptoms of a display problem. Do you have the latest version of your video card/graphics card according to the web site of the manufacturer of the card? If so, we are going to need to delete the BadDrivers.txt file. But I need the information in "1" to tell you how to get there and do that.
Some background information please....
1. How long have you been working with this version on its current computer operating system?
2. How would you class this issue "It worked before but not now" or "it never worked before"?
3. What is your project preset?
4. What are the properties of this .mts files...AVCHD video compression? 1080i or 1080p or other?

I moved by iTunes files to an external drive because I was changing computers. I then moved the files to the new computer. My iPod is not linking with the files on the computer. What can I do?

I moved my iTunes files from my old computer to an external hard drive. I then moved those files to the new computer. My computer and iPad are not linking up (recognizing each other?). I installed the latest version of iTunes onto the new computer to see if that would help. It did not--I got the message that an iPad can only be linked up with one computer and the new download would not work with this iPod. So the iTunes' library and my iPod are not connecting, and I have no way of installing or removing new songs onto my iPad. What should I do to correct this?
