Thunder bolt and usb plug in slowed down WHY?

I feel like with in the last two months my USB and Thunderbolt plug-ins have slowed down and do not transfer files as fast as they did. The computer itself has plenty of room. I was wondering if there was something I could do to fix it.

Can you provide any numbers?  Does it take 10 minutes to transfer a 10 MB file, for example?  Does this change if you reboot?  How much free hard drive  space do you have?  how much RAM do you have?

My Iphone 4 shuted down after tried to instul ios 7.0. I 'm only seeing the sing of iTune and USB plug right on the phon's screen
I really need help because that's only phone i got.

Just back from Genius Bar and two other people at my table had the same problem. Their 4Ss aren't charging either. One of them had a fried board according to the tech. At least my HW checked out OK. It just won't charge.
The tech tried to tell me that it was because my connector was corroded, which I told him was kind of a weak argument since evidence points to that the update has something to do with it.
They're seeing a lot of these and it looks like they already have a script.
Luckily I had enough juice left to recycle it for like $180, so I picked up a 5S with a new 2 year.
It looked to me like this is going to blow up pretty big. Like class action lawsuit big.
If you have an iPhone 4 or 4S, and you haven't updated it to iOS 7, don't for now. See if a patch comes out that doesn't brick your phone. Or get an induction charger maybe? Don't just update and expect absolutely no problems because too many people are having problems right now.

  • My iphone is froze during a reset at the itunes symbol and usb plug

my iphone froze during a reset at the itunes symbol and usb plug with the arrow pointing at symbol.  how do i get past this point as my itunes account is not even recognizing my phone now?

Turn it off by holding home+ power button untill the screen goes black ( as soon as it goes black, release the buttons).. This might take some practice , so dont worry if on the first try your phone reboots and goes to itunes screen again.
Now, with your phone powered off, enter DFU mode:
    Method 1)
Attach the phone to the pc
    Turn the phone off
Hold power and home together for *exactly* 10 seconds
Release power but keep holding home until the pc beeps as a USB device is recognized.
Whilist in dfu mode, itunes will recognize the device and it will ask you if you wish to restore it. Simply click restore, and the restoring proces will begin.
This will hopefully fix your iphone.
    Cheers

  • Hi. I am going to be buying a macbook air 2012 soon with 4 GB of RAM and wondering how much memory space does norton AV take up and does it drastically slow down the mac. Thanks a lot :)

    Hi
I am going to be buying a macbook air 2012 model with 4 GB ram soon. I was wondering how much space (memory) does Norton AV take up and does it drastically slow down the computer. Also, I am going off to uni so will predominantly be using the laptop for surfing and MS office.
    Thanks a lot

Sorry to disagree mende1.  In this age of email attachments and social networks, it is actually a good idea to have a good antivirus on your system. {I realize that this is a religious argument and I will say no more}.  With that said, the general concensus is that Norton AV is terrible. It is intrusive and uses up a lot of cycles.
There are a lot of better AV clients out there.  I use ClamXav which is free and uses the clamav antivirus that is open source.

  • Itunes  logo and usb plug shows  ipad crashed

While syncing itunes ipad stopped working...now shows itunes symbol and usb plug.

It is indicating that you have to connect to iTunes - with the cable - and more than likely you have to restore your iPad. Connect the iPad to your computer and launch iTunes if it doesn't start on its own. Read this as well.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1414
If you get no prompts from iTunes when you connect the iPad then you will have to restore.

  • Elements 12.1 Organizer slow and locks up.  Slows down my entire iMac.

I have an iMac running OS X 10.9.2 and have downloaded the update of Elements 12.1 and also shut off all of the media analysis functions and organizer runs so slow it is ridiculous.  It takes 10 minutes to move one file from one folder to another.  It also slows down everything on my iMac to a crawl.  Hard drive sounds like it is running continuously and the the spinning rainbow of death when doing very basic functions.  I've had to go back to an old Bridge software until this can be fixed.  I would return the whole thing since 12 doesn't seem to add much to my old version 8 in functionality and there are a lot of poorly place UI issues in expert mode.  I'd like to use the software, but it doesn't seem to work.  Any ideas?

    Hi,
Please try repairing and optimize your catalog.
You can do this by: File > Manage Catalogs. Here you can both the options.
    Thanks,

  • I downloaded the Apple update yesterday and my computer has slowed down plus I can't move emails to my different mailboxes.

Why has my computer slowed down?  I downloaded the update yesterday and since then the color wheel keeps circling and I can't download or move emails to my different mailboxes.  There is no consistent patern in which emails can be transferred.  There is a consistent patern with the color wheel coming on while I am typing and stoping the recording of the keys.

Please download, install and run Etrecheck.

  • I have iTunes logo and USB plug pic stuck on my screen

Problem started when Angry Birds game stuck.  I tried to reboot and for the first time ever got an iTunes logo/arrow/USB plug stuck on my screen.  Only option is to restore.  It won't let me do anything else.

Yep, your only option is to restore.  Try restoring from backup.  Yo iPod should be returned to like it was when the last backup was made provided that all the apps and music are in your iTunes library.

  • I seem to be having an issue whenever I open up a new page other sites keeping appearing and the pc has slowed down to a halt. What should i do to restore back to normality?

I foolishly opened a free online movie site and since then my pc has slowed down and i keep getting other sites popping up constantly.
    What should i do??

There is no need to download anything to solve this problem.
You may have installed one or more of the common types of ad-injection malware. Follow the instructions on this Apple Support page to remove it. It's been reported that some variants of the "VSearch" malware block access to the page. If that happens, start in safe mode by holding down the shift key at the startup chime, then try again.
Back up all data before making any changes.
One of the steps in the article is to remove malicious Safari extensions. Do the equivalent in the Chrome and Firefox browsers, if you use either of those. If Safari crashes on launch, skip that step and come back to it after you've done everything else.
If you don't find any of the files or extensions listed, or if removing them doesn't stop the ad injection, ask for further instructions.
Make sure you don't repeat the mistake that led you to install the malware. It may have come from an Internet cesspit such as "Softonic" or "CNET Download." Never visit either of those sites again. You might also have downloaded it from an ad in a page on some other site. The ad would probably have included a large green button labeled "Download" or "Download Now" in white letters. The button is designed to confuse people who intend to download something else on the same page. If you ever download a file that isn't obviously what you expected, delete it immediately.
Malware is also found on websites that traffic in pirated content such as video. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect more of the same, and worse, to follow. Never install any software that you downloaded from a bittorrent, or that was downloaded by someone else from an unknown source.
In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere  should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
Still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
Install system data files and security updates (OS X 10.10 or later)
    or
Download updates automatically (OS X 10.9 or earlier)
    if it's not already checked.

  • How do I reset old 4.1.2 IPAD that shows Itunes and USB plug

How do I rest old 4.1 os IPad that shows itunes logo and usb plug

Placing your device into recovery (DFU) mode:
Follow these steps to place your iOS device into recovery mode. If your iOS device is already in recovery mode, you can proceed immediately to step 6.
       1. Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, but leave the
other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
       2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds
until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
                  * If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the
Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off,
release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
      3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the
device. The device should turn on. Note: If you see the battery charge warning,
let the device charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some
charge, and then start with step 2 again.
      4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen.
When this screen appears you can release the Home button:
      5. If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the following "recovery mode" alert:
      6. Use iTunes to restore the device.
If you don't see the "Connect to iTunes" screen, try these steps again. If you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen but the device does not appear in iTunes, see this article and its related links.
    Additional Information:
If you have a problem getting into recovery mode then try: RecBoot: Easy Way to Put iPhone into Recovery Mode.
Note: When using recovery mode, you can only restore the device. All user content on the device will be erased, but if you had previously synced with iTunes on this computer, you can restore from a previous backup. See this article for more information.

  • USB has suddenly slowed down to a snails pace

I'm not sure how this happened, but transferring anything, from either USB port, and via any device, has gone from fast (USB 2.0), to super slow. Recently, it has taken awhile for my My Book drive to show up, but the transfer speed has always been fine. Now, it just *****.
Anyone have this happen to them, or know of a solution?
    TIA

results from user error or mistake powering down without unmounting first.
disconnect the drive. zap pram on the computer. hope this works and reconnect all and try again.
you could also try a power manager reset.
