Thunderbird 24.5.0 blue belt on imap inbox archives folder and one subfolder. What does this mean and can it be changed?
Thunderbird 24.5.0 has a blue belt on imap, inbox, archives folder and one of 4 subfolders. What does this mean and can it be changed?
I see these on my Windows machine but not here in Linux, so I guess it's connected with the icon set available in your OS GUI.
Changing the theme may provide the result you want.Given that icons are OS and theme specific, it's hard to find definitive descriptions of their meanings. :-(
This [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Icons_-_Thunderbird_2 old article] is silent on this topic, whilst indicating how two major platforms are quite different in their appearance.

When I open thunderbird and get logged in my Email address name at the top of my thunderbird email has a Paddle Lock on it. What does that mean? Can I get it off? I am using a VERIZON email address. Over the last 2 days I have not been able to down load any of my incoming email messages. It keeps asking me for my Password which I type in and then it says its incorrect. After resubmitting my password I get a Error message says #0012 password incorrect. Is this something thunderbird did or happened from the new update for Ver. 31.1.2? I need help.
The padlock indicates a secure connection to the server. You don't want to get rid of that.
Please check with Verizon whether something has changed on their end.

HT1710 What does it mean if the blue screen appears and stays on with no further activity?
My disk failed. Apple store replaced it with a disk with OS X. I tried to load from valid time machine backup. eventually I got a blue screen.
What does this mean and what should I do?
Here is more of this story:
When I picked up my computer after the disk was replaced, I was told I could do a time machine recovery. After about 6 hours the recovery said it had less than a minute to go and was transferring "your" network settings. at 9 hours it said the same thing.
I rebooted DVD to try to reload MAC OS X but it crashed with "INSTALL FAILED MAC OS X could not be installed on your computer Click restart and try again"
I did but it would not boot.
I reloaded the disk utility and and it showed no problems but the next OS X install failed (hung).
I then wrote zeros to all the disk (could not find a reformat command). This went tith out error.
I restarted the OSX install and it appeared to work.
I started the install from time machine again and it hung in the same place. (less than a minute remaining. The completion bar had a sliver of white at the end but was mostly blue)It just means it's hungup just before completing, we can get more info with Verbose boot...
CMD+v keys on bootup...

Hi. I often use the conversation search option when archiving my emails from inbox. I find this a very useful method of finding trails where I and multiple people have responded to each other. However If I have already moved one or more of these emails into the archive folder and select all to move, Thunderbird will not move any. I then need to individually select those that need to be moved.
Although not a major issue I use this regularly and often come across the problem. a recent fix which allows location tab to remain on in search helps but does not resolve this issue. A slightly annoying problem and I was wondering if any one else has this issue. Also is anyone looking into a solution?FCPx answer: At least the answer that worked for me...
I had the same problem, as I believe many others had.
In my case the problem was with one of OSX Mavericks' new features: APP NAP.
It looks like this is ON by DEFAULT for ALL Applications and that FCPx, or Compressor for that matter, will not work if this is enabled on them.
I just disabled App Napp on FCPx and now it works, again, like a charm.
This is how you disable App Nap: http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13727_7-57612009-263/how-to-disable-app-nap-in-os-x -mavericks/
I hope this helps,

What does it mean when you computer crashes and when you turn it back on it shows you a blank blue screen with a little folder and a question mark in the middle? It's a old imac from 1997.
I don't have original discs that it came with.
Then you still can use the second option with the keyboard combo I posted, called "resetting the PRAM."
Also when you way hold the c key down do you mean turn computer off and turn back on holding the c key?
Yes, or you can simply restart. As you don't have the CDs, this isn't on the plate any more.
The internal backup battery is not expensive and, in most iMacs is user-replacable. If yours has a tray-loading optical drive like this one:
it takes a major teardown to replace the internal battery. If this is the case, you'd be better off to leave the computer plugged in all the time; that eliminates the main reason for having a working battery.
If it has a slot-loading optical drive like this one:
things are much easier. The battery is visible through the RAM access door on the bottom of the computer case. The manual:
http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/iMacG3_2000UserManual.PDF
has sketches of how to access the RAM and therefore the backup battery. Unfortunately, the pdf on the manual goes up sideways on-screen and the RAM instructions are pretty deep into the manual. It's probably easier to scroll (for a while) to the section on adding RAM and print the applicable pages.
When you work on the battery, some sort of non-conductive pliers or large tweezer or forceps help unless you have tiny fingers. Make sure to note the polarity of the old battery and install the new one in the same orientation.
The battery itself is readily available. If price is no oblect, you can get it for a small rasom from Radio Shack Store ("Tandy" outside the US) as part number 23-026.
Online, they are dirt-cheap even after adding shipping. I buy backup batteries form this outfit:

Why is it that when sending text messages, sometimes they go through in blue and sometimes in green? What does that mean ?
My second question is, at times after sending a text it says: Sent as a text message.....I'm thinking, really? that's what I thought I sent in the first place !
Some one please help me out.......Hi JoFan0465,
Welcome to the Support Communities!
Good question!
Blue messages are iMessage conversations (Apple's messaging service)
Green messages are SMS - standard text messages.
SMS is the acronym for Short Message Service.
MMS is the acronym for Multimedia Message Service (audio, pictures, video can be added to messages).
With MMS turned on, you will see a little camera icon in the bottom left corner of your screen when you are in the Messages app. Also you will see the word iMessage where you type your text.
The link below will explain more:
Apple - iOS 6 - Messages with iMessage, for unlimited texting.
See the iPhone User Guide - pgs. 64-66 to learn more about Messages:
manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf
The article that you referenced, iOS: Using Messages explains all of the parameters and requirements for sending messages on your iPhone.
I hope this information helps ....
Have a great day!

My Thurderbird says 84% in a small rectangular box at the bottom of my Thunderbird e-mails. Does this mean I'm almost at capacity and how can I lower that percentage?
Can you post a screenshot?

Can this be from an add-on? -
I have had a permanent vertical blue line on the right side of my imac screen for some time now. It does not affect the use of the computer. A red one has popped up on the right side of the screen and is not going away either.
Would you know why these are appearing and perhaps how to get rid of them please?
Thank you in advanceBest guess is that either your GPU or LCD is failing. You should take it to the nearest Apple Store or AASP for proper diagnostic. Once you know what the problem is you can decide wether or not it's worth repairing.

Mail Messages I receive are preceded by aq blue when unread.
Recently I have received mail messages that are preceded by !!! What doe that mean?
Why do those marks appear?Excellent. I knew someone would know. But a small addition in the form of general information.
Not everyone has a priority option set next to the signature. You need to know that the option exists and that's found by clicking on the innocent looking envelope icon (which tells you nothing) at the bottom left of the header section. Then, the drop down menu > Priority field > reveals an options panel next to signature.
But of course, that's for use when you are the sender. For the recipient your answer is dead right. -
