Thunderbird deletes all emails at random times but is set to "never delete" them.

It always deletes them when the program is closed and sometimes when it is minimumized. Also deleted them from the archives folder. Most seem to be in the "Trash" but not all. This started at the last upgrade.

Ok is the account IMAP. That is the key.
If you go to the troubleshooting information on the help menu and look at the mail and news accounts there will be either an IMAP, POP3 or SMTP entry for each account in the name.
If it is imap, then the protocol is synchronized ie the imap phone, Thinderbird and what you do in your browser all replicate to one another.

This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Please take this step regardless of the results of Step 1.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2.

That is correct, They don't seem to know about Mac, never got a single scrap of help from them. Try recreating your account from scratch, delete the account, (write down all your settings first) and add an account, see if that works, and if it does, delete the first account to prevent things doubling up on you. I think that's what I did, it was quite a while ago. Hope this helps, or gets you pointed in the right direction. Maybe go to At&t and try creating another account, and if ti works, delete the first.
One other tihing I did was to reset Safari, as AT&T uses the net, that's about all I can remember, like I said it was awhile ago.

most people will tell you to do both pram and smc resets (google) and if you still have issues, either clean install (easy) or troubleshoot (hard)

I have the same problem. Yahoo Sportacular aborts every time I try to open it. It attempts to load and then the device goes right back to the home screen. The problem started April 26 after I switched leagues from NHL to NBA. Closing all apps and Restarting doesn't solve solve the problem.
All other apps on the iPad work fine. IPad2, OS6.
Any other suggestions? I suppose I could delete the app from the iPad and try re-installing it

They play on my iphone and from the itunes library but not from my ipod touch.

If the songs are still on your ipod, make sure autosync is disabled in iTunes on your computer, connect and right click on it in the device list, then choose "transfer purchases" to copy all bought media and apps from your ipod to your computer.
If the songs are not on your computer and got deleted from your ipod as well, you can't get them back, unless you have a backup of your iTunes library as part of your computer backup.

How do I "delete all" emails at one time ??

I use POP3 email accounts. There isn't a slick way (that I can see) to select every email from your inbox and delete them. Has anyone come up with a solution for this ??
And please don't answer with: switch to an imap account.

I don't access an antiquated email account type, so I have nothing to complain about.
If Apple included a delete all at once option for an account's Inbox mailbox, the habitual whiners that did this by accident would come unglued.

Hold the Sleep and Home button down (approximately 10 seconds) until you see the Apple logo.

Is your phone signed into an old iCloud ID ("email address") and you need to change it to your current ID? Is so, there is a way around this.
Otherwise, you can either try resetting your password at https://iforgot.apple.com or by contacting Apple for assistance by going to https://expresslane.apple.com, then click More Products and Services>Apple ID>Other Apple ID Topics>Lost or forgotten Apple ID password, or you can back up your phone to your computer instead. I am about to pull my hair out. My itunes account has been disabled............or at least that's what it says everytime I want to update my apps....I can't do it. Then it sends me to a useless web address www.apples.com/itunes/storesupport/forassistance it never helps me. I've changed my password, etc. But I can't get my apps updated or the "Apple" in the sky to fix it...I don't know where to go for customer service....Any suggestions?

I updated the software on my iphone4 tonight and ran into this same endless loop - "itunes terms & conditions have been changed" - go to itunes, aceept - back to the "T&C have been changed message" with no ability to do anything in the app store until I accepted the new terms.
While not a very direct solution, I was able to finally accept the terms in a way that seem to register with apple by making a purchase through iTunes on my computer. This forced me through updating my payment information and updating my iTunes software to the latest edition (which I had not yet taken the time to do). After doing both of these, iTunes took me through the terms & conditions on two separate pages, but ultimately allowed me to purchase my song. Once I completed these steps, it fixed the problem on my phone, so now I can update my apps and download new ones without running into that loop.

If a phone is sold from one friend to another and wants to use it on a different carrier the friend can contact the carrier it was sold by to request it unlocked. I know AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint will give you the steps to unlock it as long as the original contract it was bought under has been completed. eBay/Craigslist is really not the best place to try to get "unlocked phones" from, if it turns out the phone isn't unlocked then I'm really sorry you got stuck with that one and as stevejobsfan said above I would report them immediately and see if you can recover your money. This is not a complicated problem. And you can easilly solve it. Here is the way about how to recover music from iPod.
Connect your iPod to your computer to restore custom ringtones and ringtones saved to the computer. Click the "iPod" button in iTunes, or select your iPod in the sidebar if you enabled the option to show the sidebar. Select the "Tones" tab, check the box for each ringtone you want to transfer to your iPhone, and then click "Sync." Sometimes a 3 party tool such as Data Recovery may help you in a easy way.
