Thunderbird do not send my e-mail

thunderbird do not send my e - mail but recive (on my mail address [email protected]) with regularity the mail or answers of my correspondents.

Read the following article, which applies to all versions of Mac OS X (not just Mac OS X 10.4.2 and earlier as the article states):
.Mac: Server timeout alert message when sending email
BTW, some of the information provided in this article can be found in Mail Help as well. Actually, there is a Mail Help article titled precisely “I can't send email because the connection to the server on port 25 timed out”...

Have you gone into the email settings and making sure the password are still there?

That really sounds like anti virus scanning to me. Try rebooting your machine into safe mode with networking and see if it works correctly then.

  • AE4500 does not send my e-mail by smtp

I have a weird problem with sending e-mail with my AE4500.
My e-mail program (outlook 2007) stopped sending my e-mail (My setting for sending e-mail is smtp.<provider name>.nl).
I get the message that the connection with the smtp server can not be established.
I pinged the smtp server and that worked.
I telnet to the smtp server, but that failed.
I tried also with e-mail program thunderbird, but same problem.
Also my mail server at home has the problem to send e-mail.
I plugged my laptop straight into the providers modem, and sending an e-mail, and that works
Then I plugged back my AE4500 and connected only my laptop to the AE4500 (all other devices I switched off).
    And the problem was back!
I checked for the latest firmware (2.0.37.131047), but that was already on my AE4500.
I replaced the AE4500 for my old E2000 (I used on the attic as accesspoint), and sending an e-mail, and that works
I reset the whole AE4500 and started from scratch, but no luck. If I use the router AE4500 e-mail sending will not work on port 25 (sending e-mail with smtp.gmail.com on port 465 works, but I do not want to send my e-mail by Google!!!).
All worked for over a year and now it stopped working! And nothing has changed!
At this moment as workaround I use my E2000 as router and put the AE4500 on the attic, but I want my AE4500 to cover also the garden and higher speed on the PC in the living room!
I searched the internet, but no solution! Who has any idea?

I believe what you have is an EA4500. Now, using your preferred SMTP server, what's the port that you are using? You might need open that port (triggered) on the new EA4500.
If everyone needs to believe in something, I believe I'll have another beer..

  • Why can I receive but not send messages through Mail?

I recently installed a wireless router (linksys). I can send mail at the local coffee shop, yet here at home I can't. I know it's something very simple, but I'm giving up...and asking for help in fear of tweaking the settings beyond my knowledge. I get a popup that tells me I can't use the listed server for outgoing mail. I have a couple choices...1) lynksys 2)stmp.mac.com:tugboater.
I wish I could get it set up...Its annoying to have to use mt yahoo address.
    Heelllppp!

Help! I have read through this string, but not found an answer. I too, can receive emails but not send them. The problem started last week - I've been successfully using my mail account for 2 years and then last week, stuff I send just disappears - no error messages. I didn't change any settings or do any updates. All sent messages show in my "sent" folder, as well. I have tried everything, including restoring my hard drive from a backup copy made before I was having difficulty.
I used suggestions in the online help, including using the "ping" function to see if I was communicating with my outgoing mail server. Trying to ping mail.mac.com I get the error message:
    "PING mail.mac.com (17.250.248.152): 56 data bytes
    --- mail.mac.com ping statistics ---
10 packets transmitted, 0 packets received, 100% packet loss
I am using mail and .mac mail through a cable DSL line and Airport wireless connection.
I tried changing my outgoing port to 110 and to 25 without help.
    Any thoughts?

  • Mail will not send out e-mails from my gmail smtp server

I am using Mail to send and receive e-mails. I have 3 different accounts that I use, of which two are GMail acounts. These two acounts receive e-mails as normal, but upon replying or otherwise sending out e-mail it refuses to send. It appears that the SMTP server is offline. I have re-entered my credentials etc, but this did not fix the problem. Can anyone help me to get over this annoying issue?
I am running OSX 10.10.1 Yosemite

I am experiencing the same issue. All has been working fine & it just suddenly started today. OSX 10.10.1 Exactly as you describe. I have the same email account settings on my iPad & have no problems there, only on my Mac with 10.10.1

  • My iPad will not send messages from mail

Mail will not send outgoing messages. Error message says client does not recognise or has wrong password.

  • Gmail not sending in Mavericks Mail

Installed Mavericks on a 2011 Mini - first problem, cannot get Gmail to send from Mail app - checked all the settings (even deleted and re-entered account) - it finds and downloads incoming but will not send - the message just sits in the Outbox...  ARGH.

I found out how to make this work with 2 step authentication.
I generated another 2 step application specific password via Google Account Settings (called it mall_app_send).
I went to Mail -> Prefrences -> Selected the Gmail account -> Outgoing Mail Server -> Then selected Edit SMTP List, and changed the user name to include my custome domain (e.g. user -> [email protected]) and pasted in the app specific password and hit ok.  The Gmail smpt server went from Gmail (Offline) to Gmail and now emails are being sent.
    Best of luck - visualjc

  • Thunderbird will not send emails...but claims they are "sent" (no error message)

Up until the beginning of this month my Thunderbird was working fine with my roadrunner email address. I have not downloaded any new software or made any changes to my settings during this time. Now I can no longer send emails (although it claims they are sent) and I never get an error message. I'm definitely in online mode, can receive all messages fine, and can send messages from my road runner server fine through webmail. I have checked to ensure no firewalls or antiviruses are blocking my outgoing messages and know the SMTP is correct. Please help!

Hi...thanks so much for your help! It says "mail sent successfully" and shows it in my sent folder after I click send.

  • Thunderbird will not send email through default, outgoing server.

I have two outgoing email servers: Optomum (NY) and TWC (North Carolina). In North Carolina TWC worked perfect. Now I am in NY and changed the default setting for the outgoing server to Optomum. This is the error message I get, “Sending of message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to SMTP server mail.twc.com timed out. Try again…” At first I thought that a change to the default outgoing server would not take effect until Thunderbird was shut down and restarted. That was not the case. Then I thought to reboot computer. Still NG. Although Optimum is set as default, Thunderbird still wants to send through TWC. Need fix.
    jk

I think you mis understand the default. It is usaed when the one assigned to the account can not be determined.
Tools menu (alt+T) account settings > select the account name and change to the appropriate SMTP server in the drop down list.
