Thunderbird: Email contents display as blank after renaming or deleting a folder

After deleting or renaming an email folder we find that, on choosing another folder, all email is blank. That is the headers are displayed correctly but on clicking these to view the message body the lower panel is entirely blank. This applies to all subsequent folders selected.
On closing and re-opening ThunderBird the folders and email display correctly again.
We wound back to an earlier version and the problem does not exist. Have switched off updating.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Details:
We have this problem with version 28.X to present, including Betas.
No problem with version 24.X and earlier.
imap using Dovecot 2.2.10 on Centos 7.0.1406

Very many thanks indeed for your quick reply. We have tried that, but no luck I'm afraid. Only closing and re-opening Thunderbird gets round this problem.

The following Knowledge Base article offers up some great steps for troubleshooting issues when iOS is not functioning as expected. When performing Step 1, I would recommend closing all apps:
iOS: Not responding or does not turn on

If a single application is not responding or stops responding when it opens, you can force it to close.
If the device is unresponsive or if certain controls aren't working as expected, restart your device.
If the device remains unresponsive or does not turn on (or power on), reset your device.

If you are using an iPad, ensure that it's connected to the USB Power Adapter supplied with the device.
Let it charge for at least twenty minutes, then see if it starts normally.
If there is no image on the screen, press the Sleep/Wake button to attempt to wake the device.

If the above steps do not resolve the issue, or the if the screen remains black or shows a persistent Apple logo, try restoring with iTunes:
Connect the device to your computer and open iTunes.
If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane. Learn more about restoring iOS software.
If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try to force the device into recovery mode, and then restore it.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, contact Apple.

Content retrieved through RIDC after add/edit/delete is not updated

There is a functionality such that a user is shown the content details like folder name and content under the folder name to be displayed on the portal.
Basically, the metadata of the folder and content need to be displayed and add/edit/delete operations need to be available for the user.
So any updates performed on the UCM content from the portal need to be updated on the UCM.
To enable this functionality made use of the RIDC API. Everything as to content display, add/edit/delete operations are all working fine and getting updated on the UCM front also.
But the issue is that after these operations being performed the user needs to be displayed updated content information on the portal. But while trying to retrieve the results using SEARCH RIDC Service, results are fetching the old data and hence the content information displayed on the page is also stale.
While trying to hit the URL again i.e. a new request then the updated contents get dispalyed.
Can anybody tell me what could be the issue? I am unable to understand the issue.
All this has been done using taskflows.

Most probably the content is not indexed in the interval when it is updated and then retrieved with search call . As a test , recreate the issue and then open UCM Web UI - Content Information (of the content updated / searched ) - check the Status value for the latest revision .
Most likely it will be in Done status (if no conversion is being used) .
Second time when you the actual correct data shows up then check the Status and there it would be in Released status .
I believe that you are trying to search / display the content even before the new version is indexed and made available for search .

Why do I need to close photoshop if I want to rename or delete a folder in windows explorer.

Why does photoshop lock a folder for which it has no use. Restarting a program that take forever to open every-time I want to delete or rename a file or folder is not efficient.

I do not advise using unlocker as I wrote I have not installed it in years. If not used with good understanding on the user's part it can help them to destroy their file system. One should not mess around with files system locks. I only mentioned unlocker for I believe Windows may at time fail to do some unlock that should have been done to one reason or an other. Unlocker can if I my memory is correct identify what locks exist for a file.
These days when I run into a lock problem I first try log off and log on. I don't care what is holding the lock the log off clean up process always seem to clear up the lock causing my problem.
If one looks at what programs like unlocker can kill they should get the idea that these programs can be dangerous.
Similar programs and why Unlocker is better
Of course I only compare here the unlocking features. Process Explorer and Take Control are very good programs featuring much more things than just unlocking folders. The goal of this list is not really to pretend Unlocker is better but instead to provide a list of all other alternative programs in case you have some difficulties with Unlocker.

I have just formated my laptop and installed windows 7 Ultimate 32-Bit Os.
As i installed intel hd graphics driver first then my laptop screen gets blank .
even though i download driver from hp site and which are for my 32 bit OS

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have read your thread on your HP Pavilion dm4-1219tx Notebook and the graphic drivers giving an error message. Here is a link to the driver for your system, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 6370 that was installed not the Intel.

Bookmarks display bar blank after restore

restored bookmarks, can see them from bookmarks in upper menu, but when I click bookmarks ICON, left panel opens up blank, no folders.

Outlook 2013 email stuck in outbox and after restart outlook deletes them

We're running outlook 2013 + Exchange 2010 SP3.
I have a user that twice now has called helpdesk to say his email is stuck in his outbox. His client was in cached mode but connected to the exchange server. The first time, after trying a manual send/receive, I exited outlook and very quickly saw the outbox
empty of the 9 items that were there. I went over to sent items expecting to see them there and they weren't. The recipients never received the emails.
Today, the same thing happened (it's 2 weeks later and he hasn't had the problem since) but this time we saved everything before exiting outlook. When outlook started again, the messages in outbox were deleted. I did message tracking on the transport servers
and they never made even made it to the hub transport. However, because I had a record of the precise emails he was responding to this time, I search for them and they actually show that he has replied at X:XX time, but they were never sent.
I think this has something to do with cached mode so I've switched his client to online mode in the meantime but I was wondering if anyone has seen anything like this. It's the first time I've ever seen outlook (Any version) actually delete email.

I'm getting the exact same thing with one of my users.
We're using Gmail connecting to outlook through a add-in (Google Apps Sync).
The user in question has this occur about once a month. As we don't use exchange it can't be the link to exchange that's causing this. I think it's got to be down to something in the local mail cache, OST file?
We have a lot of users in our business, none have reported this issue apart from this one user. The only thing which differentiates this user from the rest is that she has a lot of PST files mapped and open at any time. I'm talking like 30+ which is
killing performance. I know this is a huge NO NO in terms of operations but this user is adamant that she needs each and every PST open. She has management back her up with this so my hands are tied. I'm wanting to abolish outlook and just use gmail, just
so that I have an excuse to get all her mail in the cloud.
But anyway, this has to be something to do with the local mail store running out of memory or something like that.
If I ever get mails into the cloud, I'll let you all know if this issue stops occurring.

Lost Lightroom Edits After Renaming and Re-Importing Folder

Hello Experts,
I renamed a folder and it seemed to lose my files. So I re-imported from the same (renamed) folder. Now all my edits are gone. Is there a way to restore my edits? (I am using a Mac, by the way. Just in case that is relevant to the question). I have portraits that are due to my client, so any help that someone can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Josh
If you rename files or folders using Finder, then Lightroom will no nothing about it and you will have broken the original links in the database. Always rename, move etc, within Lightroom.
Is the original folder still showing up, with missing files? If so you could try to get the files back to their original state on the hard drive and then re-connect the missing files - the thumbnails will have the missing file icon. If you have deleted the original folder; then your only hope is to use a previous catalog backup to turn the clock back.

Can I recover my junk folder and its contents after I inadvertently deleted the folder, and then empties my trash?

If your mail server has a browser interface (webmail access such as mail.google.com), do the messages show up there? Otherwise, there is probably nothing left to do.

Where is the "Manage" Bookmarks option in Firefox 19.0.2 so I can rename or delete a folder?

I have tried the "wheel" icon to manage / delete/ rename the bookmark folders as the tutorial suggests but it will not allow me to select the "delete" option (I can see "delete", won't work ) and it offers no option for renaming folders. Problems with re-installing Itunes after I've deleted the folder in P-Files

I have a big big problem! For a time ago, I had Itunes on my computer... Then I though that it filled alot on my computer, so then I walked into the folder +C:\Program Files\+ and deleted the folder, where Itunes lay in.... And now I can't install Itunes again.... Thank you!

Opening next message after viewing or deleting

Please can anyone tell me whether it is possible to adjust mail settings so that the next email is displayed when one is viewed or deleted. At the moment, when one email is opened or deleted it is necessary to open the next from the list. There appears to be no facility to view next or previous emails when viewing an email.

I've found numerous threads on this topic and no solid answer if Mail can do this or not. I don't think it's just a Mail thing, but Entourage behaves exactly the same and it's pretty darn annoying after awhile. It's just counter-intuitive to every other email client I've ever used. Any help or a simple confirmation that "it just workes that way" would ge appreciated.
