Thunderbird is incredibly slow in downloading email when I first turn on my computer and go to my cox email. How do I speed it up?
Sometimes my e-mail takes as much as 5 minutes to download.

I’m having an intermittent problem with my midi controllers triggering Mainstage 3.
I’m using a PreSonus Firebox audio interface.
It’s been working fine for months, but now when I first turn on the computer in the morning , I’m not able to trigger MainStage from the keyboard. I tried different midi controllers, different keyboards, different midi cords, and check midi preferences. The audio interface is working fine and is recogonized, but the midi doesn’twork. I re-started the computer several times and then finally it miraculously starts working again.
I’ve been having to this every day now. Any help or ideas is very much appreciated.I Had the same problem with a FireStudio. Try unplugging the FireWire plug and the power plug. Wait for a few seconds, then plug both back in. The light on my FireStudio was flashing blue/red which means "not connecting." I did what I just described, and everything works again. Hope it works for you.

The pop up when I first turn on the computer that tells me that an update for Flash Player is available. Is this actually from Adobe or is this some prospective malware to be avoided? It pops up even before I log on to my ISP.

If you have a Windows machine, this could be a valid dialog. If you have your Flash Player configured to notify you when an update is available, when Flash finds an update is available it creates a registry entry to display the notification upon log in. If you'd like to verify if this is valid, please take a screenshot of the dialog window and post it here. Also, when the dialog displays, open Task Manager and look for a FlashUtil_VersionNumber.exe process. Get the exact file name and post it here as well.
Alternatively, you can update Flash Player on your own by going to get.adobe.com/flashplayer. Once Flash Player is updated you should not receive any more updates (unless you elect to receive notifications at which point, the notification will display when an update is available). If you use multiple browsers, you'll want to visit this page with each browser, as it's configured to detect the OS/browser and offer the appropriate player type depending on the browser.

I have downloaded the latest version of itunes to my computer and when I sync my new iphone, it says it is syncing but doe not pull the music in my library. The ability to do that would depend on the type of email account that you have. If it is a POP account, it cannot be done. If it is an IMAP account, it should sync across devices automatically. If you are not sure what type of account it is, who is your email provider?

my computer has crushed so i have to download I tunes again,and maybe all my information will be lost.but i had I cloud and last time when i used to i tunes they have asked me to do I cloud so i did,so now when i will again setup my computer and I tunes will i get all my Contacts and Inofrmations cause i had i have an account on I cloud
If you used icloud for your contacts and calendar then you should have no problem. They will all come back on the phone once you put the icloud user name and password in. Itunes does not store the contact information except in a backup file and if you were backing up using icloud you can use that backup to restore with.

Just got the Iphone 4s in June, now everytime I go to download an app, it will not download. When I go to get updates, the apps will not download. I tried, reinstalling, resyncing, turning the phone off and on, what is happening? How do I fix this?

I recently returned from an eight day trip during which I took over 100 photos. When I returned home yesterday, I turned on my computer and about half (randomly numbered) of my photos downloaded to Photo Stream. I have been waiting for about 36 hours now and the rest have not downloaded. What could be the problem?
As additional infromation, I tried turning OFF Photo Stream on the I Cloud Control Panel and then back ON to no avail. And all my previous pictures (taken on other trips) have downloaded completly with no problems.
FVP36Have you checked your Photos application for Photostream? Photos are saved for 30 days in photo stream and can be moved to camera roll.

Delete the song from your Itunes music list, then redownload it, Itunes will ask you if you if you want to download it for free. This seems to be the fix for my problems.

My iPhone 4 will not turn on, when I plug it into my computer and load up iTunes its in recovery mode and the only option is to restore my device to factory settings, I have no back up of my phone I've also tried the home/sleep button thing but nothing, I have literally done every method I was told, I checked for water damage and that's fine. I don't want to restore my phone or buy a new one or pay for repairs because that's wasting money when it could be a simple way to fix it. And yes, I've also tried charging it and turning it in. I really need some help with my phone
That does happen. It depends on how hard the server is being hit, as well as the connection speed of your system. If you are on a windows system, you will want to disable any antivirus or firewall software during the download.

I just updated my iTunes, and I need to delete photos from my iPod 4, and there is a Photo Library that synced to my iPod when i plugged it into my computer, and now it doesnt have the option to delete them off my iPod. How do I get rid of these photos? I have read other questions that say to plug the iPod into the computer and like un-sync it, but I downloaded the new iTunes and it doesnt have a photos tab. Why does my Kernal_Task run so high when I first start up the computer
Okay...I recently found out that my macbook pro 13in late 2011, main problem is my Kernal_Task......I notice it started happening this past Saturday. Everytime I put it to sleep, my CPU kernal_task runs high of 204-396% which is not normal. Then my fans kick on afterward.....it does the same thing when I properly shut down the computer and start it back up again, with nothing running or open. I did the Disk Utilty of Repair Disk Premissions, and still it is an on going issue with the kernal_task. And before all this happened, I never had a problem of putting my macbook to sleep at night, and wake it up the next day. Sometimes, I don't shutdown until 3 or 4 weeks at time....but now, since my kernal_task is acting up, I was told I now have to shut it down when I am not using it, like a PC machine. Can anyone here give me suggestions to sovle the kernal_task problem, of having it go back to normal use at 2-5% of CPU use, instead of 204-396% of CPU use....I am hitting a wall and want to find out if I have to reinstall OS X Lion or not...
Thanks...The kernel is using excessive processor cycles. Below is a partial list of causes for this condition.
Throttling
When it gets high temperature readings from the hardware, or a low-voltage reading from the battery, the kernel may try to compensate by interrupting the processor(s) to slow them down and reduce power consumption. This condition can be due to
a buildup of dust on the logic board
high ambient temperature
a worn-out or faulty battery in a portable
the malfunction of a cooling fan or sensor
Note that if the problem is caused by a sensor, there may be no actual overheating or undervoltage.
If the computer is portable, test with and without the AC adapter connected. If kernel_task hogs the processor only on battery power, the fault is in the battery or the logic board.
The Apple Hardware Test or Apple Diagnostics, though not very reliable, is sometimes able to detect a bad fan or sensor.
Installed software
User-installed software that includes a device driver or other kernel code may thrash the kernel. Some system-monitoring applications, such as "iStat," can also contribute to the problem. You can test for this possibility by completely disabling or removing the software according to the developer's instructions, or booting in safe mode. Note, however, that disabling a system modification without removing it or booting in safe mode may not be as easy as you think it is.
Corrupt NVRAM or SMC data
Sometimes the problem is cleared up by resetting the NVRAM or the SMC.
Peripherals
Connecting an external display to some MacBook Pro models via Thunderbolt may cause this issue. I don't know of a fix, other than to disconnect the display.
Encryption
Transferring large amounts of data to or from an encrypted disk image or FileVault volume may put an extra load on the kernel. If both the source and the destination are encrypted, the load may be doubled. If you transfer data from an encrypted disk image on an encrypted partition to another such image on another encrypted partition, the load may be quadrupled.
This issue probably doesn't affect late-model Macs with an Intel i-series, recent Xeon, or later processor. Those processors support hardware-accelerated encryption. You can determine what kind of processor you have by selecting About This Mac from the Apple menu in the menu bar.
