Thunderbird is not saving my chats. I need the chat history. What can I do?
Thank you for your help.

This can be a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

Make sure that you do not use "Clear history when Firefox closes" to clear the <i>Browsing History</i>.
*Tools > Options > Privacy: History: [X] Clear history when Firefox closes > Settings

  • Saving Chat History

    Hi all,
I'm trying to make text chat application using shared object. I'm using api Shared.getRemote("so",m_nc,true); to make the data persistent. It makes the file with extension fso. I want to save the chat history in notepad for further reference, and also load that data as per requirement. Please help.
    Thanx in advance.

Do you want to write the file on the server side, or on the client side?
On the server side, use the File class to create a text file and write a line to it each time a chat message comes in.
On the client side, you'll need to use AS3/Flashplayer 10 to use the FileReference class (see the save method) to write. In this case, the user will be prompted to create a file location using the browse dialog.
If you want this to be invisible to the end user, do it on the server side.

  • Lync 2011 for Mac not saving conversation history on outlook 2011

I have MS Office 2011 on my MAC. I have noticed the conversation history is saved on the MS Lync History folder on the MAC. However the outlook mailbox folder called " conversation history "  is not updated with this info. Any idea what could
    be happening ?
    OS : 10.9.5
    Lync : 14.0.9
    Outlook : 14.4.4
    MS Exchange server 2013.

    Hi,
For Office 2011 on MAC, the Conversation History isn’t stored in Outlook.
The conversation history is stored in the path: /Users/<username>/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Microsoft Lync History

  • Firefox is not saving my history at all - why?

In drop-down menu, it shows the last 10 places I've visited, but if I go to "Show all history", there's nothing there.
I can search for specific things in the history dialogue box, and then they come up, but I can't see where I went today, yesterday, etc.

This can be a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

  • Urxvtc not saving my history

If I press the up arrow in a spawned urxvtc terminal, it only shows the commands I used in the tty console, but never any that I used in the GUI (xorg)
    It's really annoying.

On one of my 2 computers, Mozilla is not saving browsing history beyond the last seven days. On my other computer, it saves all my browsing history.
Is there a setting I need to change? Is there some other reason for the abbreviated history?

  • Safari History not saving recent searches

My Safari is not saving recent history. A few days ago my trackpad wasn't opening programs and now it seems to be fine. Now my preferences change every time I restart. Similarly, every time I reopen Safari, the newest history that shows is a few days old. For a few days now it's shown Friday the 17th (it's Monday now). I cleared the history and when I restart the application the history shows up like as if I never cleared it.
Any help would be great, thanks.

Repair Disk actions from the Install DVD
Did Disk Utility report that the disk, "appears to be ok" ?? The instructions at that link were to check the startup disk for problems, not repair permissions.
I didn't know how else to get to the user accounts
Open System Preferences / Accounts. You can access non admin accounts there.
If you haven't set one up, follow the instructions here.
Creating a new user account: 10.5
The reason we ask that users try another user account is to "test" Safari there. If you have the same "history" problems there with Safari, that's why you need to check the startup disk.

  • BBM - No option to save chat history on Bold 9900

I have the Bold 9900 and upgraded the software to 7.0.0.579 as well. I have the latest version of BBM but I don't have the option of saving chat history. This option is just missing from the list. I have asked my friends who own this same BB but they have this option on BBM. Help this is very annoying.

Here are my privacy settings again. My formatting in the original question did not hold:
    Use custom settings for history
Always use private browsing mode - unchecked
Remember my browsing and download history - checked
Remember search and form history - checked
Accept cookies from sites - checked
    Accept third-party cookies - unchecked
    Keep until: I close Firefox
Clear history when Firefox closes - checked
The 'Exceptions' submenu has several domains set to "Allow" - these are the cookies I would like Firefox to keep on exit.
Settings for clearing History - In this submenu, 'Cookies' is unchecked. While this is unchecked, Firefox will not delete any cookies on exit, even though I have the 'Keep until I close Firefox" option enabled. But if I check this box, Firefox deletes all cookies on exit and ignores my Allowed Exceptions. This seeems to make no sense to me.

  • Recover bbm chat history

    hi
    i m using Blackberry Curve 9380.
i wish to recover my complete bbm chat history which i accidentally deleted while trying to delete a particular contact history.
let me tell you what exactly happened.
    1) opened a particular contact chat window
    2) pressed BB Menu and scrolled up to press"view chat history"
    4) pressed BB menu and that's here where you get two options a) delete contact history and b) delete complete history.
so i accidentally selected "delete complete history" which erased my entire saved chat history with all contacts.
i wish to recover and view all of them in original format, what i mean by saying original is, after recovery i wish to view them all in bbm just as we normally view chats in bbm as i also want to capture some screenshots of particular chats which are very important in nature, as they happen to be associated with my business clients.
although i have chats saved in media card  in .csv formal which is viewable in excel, but i dont wish to view them in excel format. i wish to view them in bbm.
is there a way how i can do that. is there a way to view chats in bbm that are saved as excel files. Please help as it is very important. advice me on any particular application or software available to view bbm chats as we see them bbm.
    please please help. thanks

    Hey rajkumar_bharti,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
    Thanks for the question.
If you deleted the history it can not be restored in BBM.  The saved chats you do have can be viewed in CSV format but it will not be viewable in BBM.
My apologies, let me know if you have any more questions.
    Cheers.

  • Blackberry messenger chat history not viewable for bold 9700 (onyx) OS 6

As the title said. I have the problem of view chat history for the past few weeks. I have downloaded the latest version of bbm (5.0.3.22). The chat history has always been saved in memory card. There is a link that said "view chat history" in any chat window, but once I clicked it will keep loading for hours to no avail. Is there any solution to this problem?

Found a solution in another forum!!
    * For Whatsapp:
in Whatsapp's Settings, disable saving the chat history.
Connect your phone to your PC as USB unit. From the PC go to the SD Card and in the "databases" folder delete the Whatsapp folder.
Then eject and unplug your phone, go to whatsapp and enable chat history again. It should work!!
    * For BBM and Windows Live:
in BBM and Windows Live Settings, disable saving the chat history.
Connect your phone to your PC as USB unit. From the PC go to the SD Card and in Blackberry/im delete the "history" folder in both BBM and Windows Live.
Then eject and unplug your phone, enable chat history again. It should work!!
If BBM doesn't work, connect your phone again and create yourself the folder "history". I'm sure Windows Live creates it again but not too sure about BBM.
Hope it solves your problem as it solved mine!!

  • IMessage chat history being saved

I deleted a conversation and when I made a new chat window for the person, it loaded previous conversations as well. I don't understand why as I have "save chat history" unchecked in the settings.
    Cheers!

    Hi,
When Messages was iChat you had to manually select "Save Chats"
The option is still there in Messages and it will save both Chats with Buddies (AIM, Jabber, Yahoo or Bonjour chats) as well as iMessages conversations.
However iMessages also has  chat.db set of  database items and these work as you say:-
As soon as you restart a connection with someone you have iMessaged before then the "History" of that chat is shown.
The process of showing the the "history" with that person also works with Saved Chats.
Some people see the dismissing of the conversation or  chat from the Main window as a "deletion" much like it would be on an iPhone.
The Menu item  to delete a Chat/Conversation in the File Menu with it's Keystrokes of CMD + Backspace were not there in iChat. This suggest it should apply only to the iMessages side of things. However my small amount of testing (I like to keep everything) seems to make it inconclusive for me.
My personal experience is that your App is working as it should.

  • Chat history displayed correctly in Outlook, not showing in Lync 2013 client

    Morning all,
It seems like I have an un-searchable issue with many hits returning that conversation history flat out doesn't work, which isn't the situation here...
The backend consists of Exchange 2007 with Lync server 2013. Clients (a mix of Lync 2010 and 2013, XP and 7 respectively) have no issues connecting and the chat history works fine from Outlook, however, on the client, conversation history is not displayed
and we are just given the option to "View more in Outlook..." (Which again works fine).
Is the chat history not meant to be displayed within the Lync client or are there any options or boxes that I have left unchecked that could cause this issue?
I've checked any addons on Outlook that sound as though they might be in any way affiliated with Lync and ensured they're ticked to no avail.
I'll be happy to follow up with any further information if my explanation is a bit cloudy.
    Cheers.

The Lync client will attempt to connect to Exchange Web Services in order to display items like Conversation History and Visual Voicemail.  If it cannot connect to EWS, it will fall back to a MAPI connection via the Outlook client.  The MAPI connection
will allow chats to be deposited in the Conversation History folder and display presence information within Outlook and a few others, but the EWS connection provides a richer experience.
You can check how it is connecting by holding CTRL + right click on Lync system tray icon.  Then select Configuration Information.  You should see items for EWS internal/external URL, MAPI Information, and EWS Information.
Unlike Outlook, Lync does not use the Autodiscover SCP to locate EWS.  Lync relies on the Exchange Autodiscover DNS A record to be setup both internally and externally.  Assuming Autodiscover and EWS are working properly, the following are required
in order for Lync to connect to EWS successfully:
    - User's SIP URI and Primary SMTP address should match
    - Autodiscover.sipdomain.com DNS A record setup internally and externally for each SIP domain supported
    - EWS Internal/External URLS accurately configured on Exchange
Let us know what you find.
