Thunderbird junk controls in Account Settings not being recognized

I recently switched over to Thunderbird, and for the most part all is going well except for the account junk settings. When I go to the junk settings section for my POP account or for Local Folders, try to change something, and click OK, the changes do not take effect; when I go back to the junk settings section all of the old settings are still in place. Even switching to another section on account settings and back results in the junk settings being reverted. This doesn't happen for the global junk settings in the preferences box, nor does it happen for any other section of the account settings box. I looked in about:config to see if I could set the junk settings there but it appears that only the global junk settings have entries. Has anyone else had this problem? I'm using Thunderbird 13.0.1-1 from the repositories.

I don't recommend it because you'd loose all training information. So you'd need to start from scratch again should you decide to get back to the TB built-in junk filter.
I'm not sure I really understood your problem. By disabling TB junk mail controls, no new messages are being checked and eventually marked as junk by Thunderbird. Isn't that good enough?

Solved the problem. I had to allow cookies for safari and it run - as here: Re: itunes keeps asking for my apple id password. it's NOT entered incorrectly.

Control chart limit calculation not being done

I have maintained MIC, sampling procedure and Insp plan for a char and have made two lots with them. Though charts are being displayed correctly, control limit calculation is not being possible. Msg is "Control limits for track 1 could not be calculated".
What customization should be made for this?
And in QGC1/2/3, only one insp lot is there, what went wrong?

I tried with status 3. When i remove lot created start date, it shows me the fist lot with which we statred SPC in SAP. But If i put any specified start date, it returns no value. Does that mean with status 3 it will show the very 1st lot with which SPC usage started? Then what are the cases for status 1 and 5?
My sampling procedure setting is:
sampling type: Fixed sample
Valuation mode: SPC inspection
W/O inspection point
Sample size: 1
Chart type:115 Shewhart chart for X bar/USA
Inspection plan setting is:
SPC criterion : 020 task list char/materia
Base qty : 1KG

This what finally worked for me
updating apps on 4s iPhone and iPad 3.
delete apps on both devices.
restart both devices.
then you should be able to use everything appropriately.
AT&T was having problems last week, I removed that app plus coupons, gas buddy and one other.
Actually I removed that would not update.
I still can not connect to safari.
The error message says it can not find the server.
Do you know how to fix this?

My iPod is stuck on the Apple logo and won't do anything! It won't turn on, doesn't give me the option to power it off, and to top it all off, it's not being recognized by my computer OR by iTunes when I plug it into my computer.

So yeah...last night I was checking out my iPod (bored at the in-laws) and all of a sudden the screen went blank and the only thing I can get it to do is have the black screen w/ the white apple logo on it. It won't turn on, doesn't give the the option to power down, it won't charge, AND it's NOT being recognized when I plug it into my computer. Not by iTunes OR my computer. I've tried holding down the top button and the home button at the same time...nothing. And since it's not being recognized on my computer, I cannot restart it or go back to factory settings. This seems to have started happening after the last Itunes update I did as I was able to put music on my ipod touch a month or so ago. Is there some way to go back to an older version of itunes? I really have no idea what else to do since I followed every step on the trouble shooting page for windows 8.

Go to 'Settings'
'Music'
Scroll to the bottom and enter your password to log onto your home sharing
Then connect to iTunes and sync!

IPod Shuffle not being recognized by my PC

Hi, I just bought 2 Apple iPod Shuffles from eBay. I have a slight problem. When I plug them into my USB port, iTunes does not recognize them. They show up in My Computer though. When I try to re-install/reset the factory settings it says "Plug in a device" or something like that. My guess is that I bought them from a Mac user.
My question is: How might I go about converting it from Mac to Windows?

I have a similar problem, my iPod Shuffle is being read in my Windows 2000 but in the iTunes it's not being recognized.
When I try to play the iPod, the green and orange lights blink simultaneously.
When I try and double-click on the icon for it in My Computer, it's saying that it can't be accessed because of an I/O device error.
Finally, I come to the site and get the latest update and when I try to update, it's saying that there's an iPod service error.
Hope that generalizes everything of what I'm saying and similar to Niko's problem as well.

Canon G9 not being recognized by MacBook Pro

I'm having some issues with a Canon G9 not being recognized by the particular MacBook i have to use. When i connect the G9 via USB (obviously with a good cable and camera switched on) neither Image Capture nor iPhoto recognize it. I have tried connecting the camera to a bunch of other macs (Powerbooks, latest MacBook, same model of Macbook and system as the one I'm using), they all didn't have any trouble recognizing the camera. My MaProxy-Connection: keep-alive

ook can see any other camera I have tried without trouble... I'm using 10.5.6...
The System Profiler does actually see something being connected via USB, but it only shows up as "Composite-Device/0x04a9(Canon Inc.)".
Any ideas what might cause the issue?

Updated information ... these card do get read on an older iMac, circa 2010 or so, also running 10.8.4. For some reason, they're not being read by the internal SD reader on the macbook pro. Odd.

Hello, Im trying to connect my SONY HDR-FX1 and import video to Final Cut, but the camera is not being recognized, when I plug it in by firewire, the Camera displays the usual "DV-IN" but nothing happens on the Mac.

Is your tape HDV or just DV? If the camera displays DV in, you have your camera set to play standard DV footage, or downconvert HDV footage. If that's what you want, then you'll need to use one of the DV Easy Setups in FCP.
The important thing to do first, though, is turn all your equipment off. Camera, computer, all.
Make sure the camera is connected to the computer via FireWire first, then turn it on and load your tape.
Now turn on the Mac, and launch FCP. Close any previous projects that may have opened.
Now choose the proper Easy Setup from the FCP menu. This will depend on whether you are NTSC or PAL, and if you have HDV or DV footage.
NOTE: If you have HDV footage, you'll need to make sure the camera is set to play out HDV, and choose an HDV 1080 setup.
Next, open a new untitled project, and open the log and capture window.
Now, your camera should be recognized, and you should be able to control it from the keyboard, and begin to capture.

I am trying to backup my ipod but the device is not being recognized on my computer. When I go into the folder manage devices it is not there. I have gone and hite restore factory settings and that has not helped either.

I have two iPod touch and two iPad2. I got the second iPod touch before the iPads. When I plug it in to sync ( all are on my account), iTunes lists the I
Pod's name. But it always syncs to my iPod one unless I spend 30 min manually syncing.I don't have this problem with the two iPads. Tonight, I noticed on the computer that iTunes says it is supporting three devices not four, any thoughts on how to fix this? I am actually not wanting to sync the second iPod because it is so frustrating.

One is called Kimberly's iPod the other is Jenae's iPod. Jenae's iPod is the one not being recognized by the computer and has to keep being manually fixed, it won't sync automatically. Should I still try changing the name on iTunes and assume it didn't pick it up the first time.

HP office jet 8600, wireless not working, IP address not being recognized

Purchased new HP office jet pro 8600 N911a. Inserted CD software on relatively new Toshiba laptop using Windows 7, but problem is that printer IP address is not being recognized. Wireless router is Apple airport extreme. Have checked various potential solutions, including the following: deleting software and re-inserting CD, turning off router, computer, printer and resetting, running a wirless network test (no problems found, wireless on and working and connected), ensuring that laptop and printer are on the same wirless network (yes), ensuring that printer IP address is entered correctly, and ensuring that firewall issues are not a problem. Airport extreme settings show this printer's MAC address as a "wireless client" and its IP address as a "DHCP client"; however, when clicking on the "printers" heading in Airport extreme printers, no printers are listed (this is the pane that shows the USB printers connected to your Airport wirless device). Any suggestions would be appreciated

Why don't you connect the printer wirelessly to your Airport Extreme?
You may do so by clicking the Wireless icon on the printer screen, click Settings and follow the Wireless Setup Wizard to connect the device, then it should recieve its own IP by using the printer capabilities..
If you prefer to use such a Print Server configuration, you may try using a different USB and check if that may help, otherwise I would suggest you to contact Apple as they know their accessories the best..

Acomdata 500gb External FW Drive NOT BEING RECOGNIZED!!!

I have been running an Acomdata 500gb FW External Hard Drive for my data intensive applications such as FCP and it has been working flawlessly for about the last year...
Yesterday I powered up the Mac and turned on the drive along with my external USB drive and the Acomdata drive turns on, lights up, and makes noise like it's working, but it is not being recognized at all by the Mac. I tried unplugging it, switching out the FW cord, changing the FW slot it was being plugged into, and everything else of that nature that I could think of. Of course the USB drive that has non-important work related stuff works just fine :/
So I'm wondering, does anyone think the drive has officially crapped out? It turns on and works so I can't tell. I'm PRAYING this is not the case, but I didn't know if there were any possible FW configuration settings that could have been changed or something like that. Any ideas?

Did you recently update to 10.4.10? Is there another computer that you can plug the external into to see if it's recognized? Have you tried plugging another FW peripheral into your main computer to see if it recognizes it?
Some people have had good results from the following:
1. Downloading and installing the combo updater of the system software update they've just applied via "Software Update...". In your case the update you need is at:
10.4.10 combo updater
2. Another trick is to restart each by zapping the parameter RAM:
Zapping the P-RAM:
After the startup tone, hold down <commandd><option><r> until 3 additional startup tones are heard, then release the 4 keys.
3. A 3rd tip would be to do Open Firmware resets on each:
After the startup tone, hold down <command><option><o><f> until the text screen is visible. When text can be entered, type the following commands, followed by the <return> key (there are no space characters in each command):
reset-nvram
set-defaults
reset-all (the Mac will boot up after this command is entered).
