Thunderbird receives duplicate messages on all computers

Sometimes only a few messages are duplicated, sometimes all the messages are duplicated a few minutes after downloading - as in when I first start up Thunderbird. I use the "delete duplicate messages" add-on. This problem was on my Windows XP machine, and my Laptop. I replaced the Windows XP machine with two new computers. The problem is on all computers and has been happening for perhaps a year on the XP computer and laptop - the new computers are 1 month old. I use Windows Live as a server - the same account. I check the account on line, and remove all files. I have set sent files to save on the server. I have set archives, templates and drafts to location other in Thunderbird. I have unchecked the save files box in Thunderbird. I have deleted the popstate.dat file, to no avail. Any suggestions?

Go to Settings > Messages > Send and Receive From and select only the phone number on each phone.
Do this on each phone having problems.

    I have run every version from 2 to 30 and the message filters have not been an issue in any of them. Perhaps if you restart from the help menu (Alt+H) > restart with add-ons disabled and see if an add-on is causing your issue.

    To “avoid” receiving duplicate message in BizTalk, only solutions is to avoid configure BizTalk receive location to the source system which sends the duplicate message.
    But you can “Reject” (or stop processing further) the received duplicate message in BizTalk.
    BizTalk would receive all the recognised messages from the configured source system. Defining a message as DUPLICATE or not is a custom business condition/requirement. This custom business condition/requirement
    various to various integration. Hence its not part of the BizTalk by default. You have to handle this business condition/requirement in BizTalk.
    If you don’t want the duplicate message to be published into messagebox or proceed further in BizTalk, you can consider using a custom receive pipeline component where you can implement a logic
    to check wheather the received message is duplicate or not.
    For example, if you receive a Order message and if OrderID definies the uniqueness of an order, then in custom receive pipeline once you received the message, access its OrderID and check it against
    a custom database to see if this OrderID is present in the db already or not. If the OrderID is not present in DB, then insert the OrderID in DB (for subsequent checks) and proceed the message furture. If the OrderID is already present in the db (then the
    received order is duplicate), then suspend (or don’t publish the received message furture) the message.

    Yes - I connected my phone to my computer / Itunes and went into the apps section, but from there I have no idea how to manage the push notifications.  I even tryied going into itunes that is installed on my phone.  I still cannot find anyplace to manage these popups.  I have also gone into settings - notifiations - and tried turning all notifications for these apps all off but that didnt work either.  Any guidance is MUCH appreciated - Im not sure where to go from here.

  • Receiving duplicate emails from all last year!

    I have been receiving duplicate emails from November 2011 all morning, and they were long since received and deleted.  The total will be 14,955, and after five hours, we're only up to June.  What's going on, and how can this happen?  I can't get my current emails until this is finished!

    I'd like to get an answer for this as well.
    A couple of days ago, I updated from os 10.4x to os 10.5x. Since then, there have been a handful of e-mails which have been plaguing my system. Roughly 10 times a day, the e-mail will show up as a new e-mail. When I use "mail2web.com" to double check that there are no messages on my server, it shows that they are no longer there. Still, every hour or two, these handful of messages show up again as if they are new, and this has been happening for 2 days now.
    Feel free to e-mail me if you have any suggestions. The suggestions already listed didn't work for me.

  • Entourage help: receiving duplicate messages!

    Sometimes I get the same message 5 or 6 times in Entourage and then it won't let me delete them. I press delete and nothing happens. When I log in to my webmail account (which Entourage is linked to) the message is only there once. Help!!

    Sounds like maybe you have Entourage set to leave messages on the server, which will cause it to download the same message again and again.
    Go into Tools / Accounts and choose the account you want to edit
    Click Options / Server Options and deselect "Leave copy of message on server"

    I updated my phone on Saturday, 8/9/14, and since then many of my messages are sensing twice and I am receiving messages twice. It doesn't happen every time but almost every time!     how can i stop receiving duplicate messages and emails

    I have an iPad, and added my centurylink and hot mail accounts to it in addition to my new iCloud add. I get duplicate emails.  When I get an email from someone, in a couple of minutes I get the same email over again,  I looked at the settings over and over, don't see a way to stop it except deleting the two added accounts, I did try deleting one at a time to see what happen and then I did not get any mail from that account.

    I've received group messages and sent them before on my iPhone 4S . Until recently I received group messages extremely late . And now I cannot receive group messages at all . I can start group messages and send them but I can't receive the messages that the people in the group send . My group messaging is on and I have already tried turning off my phone and turning it back on . I can receive regular text messages in one on one conversations perfectly fine . I don't really know what else to do ! Please help !

  • Duplicate Messages sent

    I am trying to figure out why I receive duplicate messages from my message queue. We have our Entity Beans send out messages when their state changes. When the beans are deployed first, and their state changes, only a single message is sent out, but if the state of the bean is changed again, then multiple messages are sent out. I guess the message queue does not get flushed after the delivery of the messages. Can any one shed some light on this issue?

    Does this not sound like a problem at the sending-side (your Entity Bean) rather than the receiving-side (the GUI code you have below).
    You say that when the Entity Bean is deployed it sends one message which (I assume) is handled OK by the GUI code. Then, when the Entitiy Bean changes it starts sending multiple messages, isn't this a problem with the Entity Bean message sending code?
    Anyway, if you are sure it is the receiver side I suggest placing a try catch (Throwable) around the code in the onMessage and printing the stack trace. At the moment you only catch JMSExceptions. The reason I say this is that maybe the message.acknowledge line is not being called which has resulted in a redelivery for some reason.
    I can see several points in your code where a NullPointerException could be raised which would result in the message not being acknowledged. For example if the message does not contain the property "scnName" then a NullPointerException will be thrown by the call to hash.containsKey(scnName). If you were to catch Throwables then you can tell if there is a problem with the onMessage method (or the messages it is receiving).

  • Iphone5 MMS: older phones not receiving group messages

    Iphone5, iOS6.1.4, Verizon. Brand-new phone I bought a couple weeks ago. So its brand-new, mint condition, untouched.
    My phone number was ported from AT&T to Verizon. No problems as far as I can tell.
    I've been sending group messages, not realizing more than half of my friends/family were not receiving them.
    1.My aunt lives on the other side of the country and has some kind of smartphone(not iphone) and she's been receiving them just fine.
    2.My mother has a normal cellphone that is several years old AT&T, but she has only being receiving the subject line of the message. When she tries to "retrieve" the message, it always says "failed to retrieve". She has no problem getting text messages from everyone except me.
    3.My brother has a different model of a normal phone and he is on the same AT&T plan with my mother and he is able to receive my group messages.
    4.Some other friends with older phones and AT&T are not receiving the messages at all.
    So it's been very hit 'n miss on who can receive these group messages.
    I turned off iMessages first, then I finally turned off MMS Messages, and my mother was finally able to receive a group message from me.
    She has always been able to receive an individual message from me with MMS and iMessages turned on. This is strictly a group message problem of some kind.
    I was only sending her messages with text content, but the group messages always say MMS at the top regardless of what you send. I'm assuming turning off MMS forces group messages to use SMS.
    Why is iphone not able to degrade gracefully with a group message? Why can't it detect older phones in a group message and say "hmm...maybe I should use SMS, especially since the iphone is sending a message with text-only content anyway."
    It's really irritating that I have to either, remember to send INDIVIDUAL messages to every single person, OR keep MMS turned off just so older phones can receive a group message.
    Has anyone else had these kinds of problems, and if so, what did you do?
    I feel like the problem is on my end(Verizon) rather than my friends' end since so many of them are not receiving MY messages. They are receiving everyone else's messages.
    Facts:
    1. INDIVIDUAL messages work. (MMS is turned on.)
    2. SMS-ONLY GROUP messages work. (MMS is turned off so SMS is forced.)
    3. MMS group messages, even with text-only content, are not being received by some people, others are receiving them just fine.

    iMessages is not the problem. None of my friends have an iphone so I haven't been using iMessages at all.
    The problem is SMS vs MMS on group messages. For some reason, the default for group messages is MMS, even though the contents I send are only text. My mother and some of my other friends cannot receive MMS messages, but they can receive SMS messages. (I don't know if its because their phones are too old or because of their specific txtmsg plan with their provider.)
    So she automatically doesn't receive messages when I send them as a group instead of individually because they always send as MMS simply because they are GROUP and not because of the contents of the message.
    Why do group messages always send as MMS instead of SMS?
    I turned MMS OFF, in order to force group messages to always use SMS, but then the MMS setting turns itself back ON the instant I send an individual MMS to a friend who can receive those types of messages. Once MMS setting is back on, I don't realize it and send out a GROUP message, which doesn't reach everyone because once again MMS is being used instead of SMS.
    If group messages would send as SMS when I am only sending text, then there would be NO problem. It shouldn't use MMS unless I'm sending a picture or something.

  • Incredible not receiving text messages

    Ive had this phone for about a year and a half and to be honest i love... no major issues... only complaint would be it constantly tells me to free up space even tough it says over half my storage space available... weird
    The problem i have now is I can't received text messages at all on my phone, sending texts and receiving/making phone calls/emails all work fine
    I googled the problem and found a discussion where someone apparently said i can take in my phone and a get a refurbished incredible 2 for free.... ima go after i get off work and see if there's any truth in this
    My wife has the droid 2 and HATES IT! and cant say i blame her - i tried to talk her out of it  when we went to get new phones but no wife will ever listen to her husband (that advice is free) ... the keyboard doesnt work and now when she texts after every word the digital keyboard goes away so he she has to bring it up to text every word.... verizion stores just keep resetting the phone and the problem comes back within 12 hours... they refuse to replace the phone even though its still under warranty... wife wants an iphone now because apple customer service is the heat apparently... i told her just dont get a phone with a slide out keyboard because they notoriously suck...

    brinface, I'm sorry you and your wife are experiencing issues with your Incredible. Messaging issues and keyboard problems can definitely be hard to deal with and cause frustration when using your device. In regards to messaging issues, you can check the messaging settings on your phone to ensure you enable the appropriate features. I will list the steps below to check all your messaging settings. I also recommend clearing the cache, browser history, and long message thread. I will list a link below with steps.
    If your wife's phone continue to have issues, we can replace the phone if its under the manufactures warranty and doesn't have any physical or water damage. The replacement will be with the same device. To help with the keyboard issue, clearing the cache and data for her message application on her phone can help resolve this issue.   • Apple Mail duplicate messages

    Hi all,
    For the past month or so, I have been getting duplicate messages for all incoming emails in a specific account when using Apple Mail. The account uses exchange. My gmail account does NOT have this problem in Apple Mail. I had this problem in Leopard, and it has continued despite upgrading to Snow Leopard.
    I also installed a Time Capsule at around the same time the duplicates started appearing, and in other posts on this forum some have suggested the problem is with the Time Capsule. However, the same users that stated this (and said that Apple support was able to fix the problem) did not provide an answer about exactly how to fix this issue.
    Since it appears that I am not alone in having this problem, perhaps it would be useful if somebody who found a solution via talking with Apple Support could share the solution here? Or any other suggestions?
