Thunderbird sometimes takes 60-90 sec to delete a message. Turning antivirus off didn't help. ???
I'm running TBird 31.3.0 in Windows8.1, using Kaspersky Pure 3.0 antivirus. Making an exception for TBird in Pure did not help. Also, turning Kaspersky completely off did not help either. What else can I do??

Does problem go away?
- If no, then problem is either: bug in Thunderbird, in your Thunderbird profile, your mail provider. Please post into topic the contents of Help | Troubleshooting | copy text to clipboard
- If yes, (still in Windows safe mode) ... start Thunderbird normally
-- If problem is still gone, then cause is a program loaded during windows startup. Possibilities include: antivirus SW, virus/malware, background downloads such as program updates
-- If problem is NOT gone, then cause is likely a Thunderbird addon - eliminate them by disabling each one at a time in Tools | addons | extensions and restarting

I just had this same issue. It occured after I joined my school's Wi-Fi. Suddenly, my home ATV2 and iPhone4 weren't on speaking terms. All five other iphones, ipads, and macs were operating as they should. My phone was not. I tried everything: unplugging and restarting ATV2, deauthorizing all my devices and reauthorizing them, deleting and reinstalling remote app, and countless home sharing on and offs on all devices. Finally, I turned the Wi-Fi off and then on in the setting of my iphone. Boom. Situation remedied. I hope this helps.

Saved texts deleted after turning iMessage off
All my saved texts were deleted after I turned iMessage off. Anyone know why and how to get messages back without restoring?
If I try my app with the DefaultGrayPhone or QwertyDevice, it works ok, the data keeps stored after a turn the mobile off, like the DefaultColorPhone used to work.Looks like you're using WTK - right? When I had problems like you describe, I typically cleaned up appdb folder.
appdb folder is usually located in WTK installation directory. In some versions it could be placed somewhere in "user documents" directory.
Typically, I simply removed "DefaultColorPhone" subfolder of appdb. To be on a safer side, you better make a backup copy of this folder prior to its deletion.

I am using oracle APEX 3.2 ;
Can anyone please help me out with this issue. I want to identify whether OK or cancel button is clicked for the delete confirmation message when the delete button is clicked by the user. I am using the javascript
confirmDelete(htmldb_delete_message,'DELETE'); message for deleting a record. I have an alert message popped out after delete confirmation appears. Below is the javascript function which does alerts the user.

So, can anyone please help me like how to make the function deleteProcess() conditional ; I mean alert message should be popped out only when user clicks OK on the delete confirmation message.

Unfortunately confirmDelete() returns no value to test on (shame - that value can be very useful). As a work-around, replace your URL target with this:

Stop/start oracle 11 only takes about 2 secs
I am using oracle 11. Sometimes my application tells me cannot connect to oracle, so I restart oracle service OracleServiceORCL11. But it is very weird stopping and starting only takes around 2 secs(normally it takes 1 minute).

Why does it sometimes take 30 seconds for the dock to come up after bringing the curser to the bottom of the page?
Try doing a Dock restart using the following Terminal command:
killall Dock
Log out/in and test. If that doesn't work.
You need to look in your user Library/Applications Support/Dock for the .db. Use the Finder “Go To Folder” command. Enter ~/ Library/Applications Support/Dock. Move the .db to your desktop.
Then try a dock reset.
Applications/Utilities/Terminal enter the command
killall Dock
Log out/in test. If it works okay, delete the .db from the desktop.
If the Dock is the same, return the .db to where you got them from, overwriting the newer ones.
If you prefer to make your user library permanently visible, use the Terminal command found below.
Show User Library
You might want to bookmark the command. I had to use it again after I installed 10.8.4. I have also been informed that if you drag the user library to Finder it will remain visible. -
i unchecked the ask first before compacting, now it takes 20 to 30 secounds to delete each messages i want to turn the ask first feature back on, I hate the thunderbird email when any button is pushed for whatever feature the software goes haywire, plus when using a virus protection is also goes haywire what is up
Compacting occurs when a set amount of disk space is recovered. The only way that could occur on every delete is if you have the threshold and your message size set the same
Tools menu (alt+T) > options > Advanced > disk space and set the limit to 100Mb and compacting should happen very rarely
If things go haywire every time you change a setting like your describing, you have far more serious issues than you are seeing. I change setting almost daily to replicate what people here tell me is happening. Usually I can not replicate their problem, let alone make things go haywire.
If I can untangle User Agent strings, It look like your using windows 7 with internet explorer and no anti virus. You provably need to remove a virus or two before anything will work correctly. -

IPad mini now terrible to use, apple support no help because warranty is up. All cause by new ios8 update, wifi issues, many apps no longer work, apps that do work now crash regularly and sometimes take several instances and reboots to even open.

Hi I got a new mac book pro retina display of 8G ram and 256GB ssd (late 2013 model). I was trying to shut down.It was taking around 20-30 secs.Is this normal? When i say shutdown i mean , i just login and shutdown.Do nothing else. I repeated the same process for 4 or 5 times. The numbers are the same.
The boot up takes around 15 secs. Are the numbers crazy or normal.

I dropped my iPhone and i tried to turn it on but it only comes on at curtain times. And it turns back off when I drop it just a little bit. Sometimes it takes like three days to turn back on. How do I get it to work regularly again?? Please help!!!
Seems like there is some physical damage causing an intermittent issue of the iPhone being unable to power on.
You could try a reset:
- hold the home button and sleep/wake button down at the same time
- the iphone will turn off(keep holding) then when the Apple logo appears release both buttons
If the reset fails I would suggest next time it powers on to try and back it up to either iTunes/iCloud then you can try a restore to factory settings or just back up and book an appointment at an Apple Store to have the iPhone evaluated.
