Thunderbolt connection not active between iMAC Late 2013 and MBA Late 2013

Hi,
I'm not able anymore to connect again the iMac and MBA by Thunderbolt cable. Some months ago I was able to use iMac as MBA external display and to activate Thunderbolt bridge. Now, the bridge is not active also if cable is connected. Is there some steps to do to reactivate the connection.
Thank you.

  • Airdrop not working between iMac mid 2011 and MBA mid 2013

    Hi everyone,
This week I bought a MBA 2013 for my girfriend and myself, they see eachother when attempting to use Airdrop, flawlessly transfering files. I have an iMac from mid 2011 which will not see either MacBook AIr over Airdrop. It is quite annoying to say the least. I have read around the posts here and there seems to be little to no support for this problem, which seems to afflict quite a few people.
They are all on the same network, all have file sharing enabled in system pref. and all of them clearly support Airdrop. I have deleted and re entered my Apple ID info to no avail.
Does anyone have an answer to this problem? It seems like there are enough people to warrant intervention on Apple's part.
Looking forward to any and all replies, cheers Pluckaduck

  • Notes does not sync between iPhone 6 plus and iPad Air

The Notes app does not sync between iPhone 6 plus and iPad Air. These used to sync before when I had an iPhone 4. I have been trying to troubleshoot this for about an hour now, so all the basics such as deciding on a default Notes account, to turning on and off iCloud functions for both devices, as well as signing out of of my apple account on both devices, then back in. Nothing seems to be working - is this a fault in the current iOs?? It's driving me nuts.

    You can't pair iOS devices.
    that's not how continuity works.

  • Is there a recommended procedure to connect the connectors between an AP-224 and AP-ANT-35A antenna?

Q: Is there a recommended procedure to connect the connectors between an AP-224 and AP-ANT-35A antenna?
    A: AP-220 series has 3 Antenna connectors (ANT0, ANT1, ANT2).
In the AP-ANT-35A antenna there are 3 connectors but there is no notification on those slots similar to the ones on the APs.
    Answer:
There is no recommended order. Any arrangement will  work fine.

Are you able to go online when you connect the computer to the bridge directly...?
On which port you have connected the bridge to the router..? It should be on the Ethernet port.

  • I have built sites on my imac, mac mini and MBA all in iweb09

i have built sites on my imac, mac mini and MBA all in iweb09 is there anyway to get them all on the same machine ? (i use mobile me)

    Here's what worked for me,
I have two sites, one I mad on my macbook and one I made on my iMac.
First go into the "Library" Folder. In there you will find a folder labeled application support.
Go into that folder and you will find another call iWeb. Your site is in there.
So I took the file for the site out of the iWeb folder on my macbook, and copied it to my
    iMac.
I keep them separately. If i put the file from my Macbook into the iWeb folder on my iMac, it would replace the file that is already there. When you start iWeb it will automatically open from that folder.
SO to keep them separate and organized, and to open the one you want there is a little trick.
First copy them all to the machine you want them on.
Take all your site's files and keep them in their own folders in the location you choose.
Make sure that on the machine you are using there is nothing in the iWeb folder native to that machine. Just move that file to another location where you wont lose it.
Now, start iWeb. When you do, iWeb will prompt you to either create a new site or allow you to choose one from a location of your choice. Tada! That is when you can choose whichever site you want to work on from the location where you are keeping them.
    Good luck.
What is your site by the way?
    mine are www.kloran.com and www.myenglishimages.com

  • Resolved: Issues connecting iTunes Library between Macs, PC's and Apple TV (1

I was having trouble connecting my wireless Macbook Pro to my wired MacPro on the same network.  It turns out that they can see each other fine and even communicate on the ports required: UDP 5353 and TCP 3689. If I took the Macbook Pro and wired it into the ethernet, it worked fine and the iTunes Library showed up.  I was even able to connect to another wireless iTunes Library to the Macbook Pro.  My Apple TV could not see the library from my MacPro either, so I knew it had to do something with the Wireless Router settings.
    Resolution:
If you're using a wireless router, make sure to disable IGMP Proxy.  This will allow your connection to go through and easily share your content with your Apple TV.
Good luck and I hope that helps many of you fix the problem with a lot less frustration.

I am wanting to see if I can (it sounds like you at least have that working Steffen) have the iTunes library on my Ex HDD on the Airport and have both iTunes (Macbook and iMac) point to it for use. Not physically have the data on either computer but each conmputer's iTunes use that data located on the NAS to listen to music/movies etc.
Yes, you can do that. It's not a problem as long as you don't have concurrent access, i.e. iMac and MacBook trying to WRITE to the library at the same time. And you will have to store not only the media files on the NAS, but the iTunes library ("iTunes" folder you usually find under "Music" on your Mac) as well.
I also want to know if I can rip a CD or movie on either computer and will it update that one library (NAS)...so both computers have total up to date info?
Yes, sure. If you tell iTunes to manage the files and to copy them to the iTunes library as soon as you add them to iTunes, it will work seamlessly. It doesn't matter if you rip and add them on the iMac or the MacBook because both computers are using the same library.
Hopefully that wasn't too confusing and again it sounds like Steffen is where I want to be minus the ATV issue.....sharing one library on a NAS between Macbook and iMac...AND any changes made only affects the NAS but both computers would get the latest and greatest.
As I said, it works as long as you are not trying to sync an Apple TV with that configuration.

  • Ctrl+Shift do not shift between languages in Firefox and Opera browers

Pressing Ctrl+Shift on the keyboard do not shift between languages when typing in Firefox and Opera browsers, but it works fine in Word and other applications. I have Windows XP SP3. My browsers are updated.

Firefox has menu items that use the Shift and Ctrl modifier keys (e.g. Ctrl+Shift+Z = Redo) and those can interfere, especially when typing in a text area.
You might have more luck with Alt and Shift instead.
Try to assign different keyboard shortcuts to each of the installed languages instead of using a key sequence to cycle between installed language layouts.

  • I can't get a thunderbolt connection to work between my iMac and new macbook air

I would like to establish a connection between my iMac and new macbook air using a thunderbolt connector. Nothing seems to happen when I plug the cable in to each device. When I open Settings/Network it shows up the Thunderbolt bridge as 'Not Connected' on the MacBook and as 'Some Connected' on the iMac. I have no problems with connecting another device (iPad) to the iMac. Can anyone help please?

Nothing happens when I try to boot up using the command+R keys.
Did you hold down those keys before booting and continue till you get to a selections window?  You should get this:
If you can't boot into the Recovery volume make an appointment with the nearest Apple Genius bar for a diagnosis.  You're still under warranty.

  • Shared Internet Connection not working between G3 iMacs

Trying to share an AirPort connection on iMac 1 over ethernet to iMac 2.
iMac 1 is a 400 MHz iMac G3 running OS 10.2.8. It has AirPort and I set the Sharing-Internet pane to share its AirPort connection over Ethernet. The Firewall is off.
iMac 2 is connected to iMac 1 via crossover cable. It's a 500 MHz G3 running OS 10.3.9.
AirPort base station is set to Pass-through for IP addresses, and is connected via the WAN port to a D-Link Dl604 router's LAN port; the router connects to a cable modem via ethernet from its WAN port. The network consists of about 11 Macs and 3 PCs. 4 of the Macs connect by AirPort and 6 plus the PCs connect by ethernet, leaving the odd man out, the iMac 500. I don't use the network to share info between machines, just to allow all to access the internet
In the Network preference pane on # 2, I have a green light for ethernet -- but it isn't being fed the right info in TCP/IP ... the router info is not the IP of # 1 nor is it the IP of my Router or of my AirPort base station -- I have no idea what it's from but it looks like it's self-assigned. The Router address of #2 is 192.168.2.1, and the supposed network address of #2 is 192.168.2.4.
So, iMac 2 won't connect to the Internet. If I unplug the ethernet cable, the TCP/IP info on #2 disappears, but the same info reappears as soon as I reconnect the crossover cable. I have rebooted the machines to no avail.
Now, I also tried a direct connection from #2 to my router in another room (conventional ethernet cable) and #2 had no problem getting online.
I also tried #2 connected to my Dual G4 (running 10.3.9) in a third room, with the G4 sharing its AirPort connection over Ethernet - result is the same as when connected to #1 -- green light, no internet connection, and a wonky router address. To top it off I run Remote Desktop 2.2 from the Dual G4 and it can't see #2 even when the supposed network address on #2 is entered into ARD manually.
The only thing that's right is the subnet mask.
Any ideas? I've done this with other Macs and never had an issue til now. I even started over and reinstalled OS 10.3.9 on the iMac 500, to no avail.
Is there a cache file or plist file somewhere I need to trash? Too bad there is no way to manually "reboot" TCP/IP. I did try the Internet Setup Assistant, and it told me I would have to enter a manual address. I don't get it -- it's fine with a direct connection, but not through a shared connection....

    Solved!
I forgot about permissions and disk repair in Disk Utility. After doing this, the tethering is working again.

  • File sharing is not working between iMac and MacBook

I had been sharing files between my iMac and MacBook.  My settings haven't changed and all of the sudden my shared files aren' t showing up in the sidebar.  Firewall settings show to allow file sharing.

I had much the same problem except that it was a PB running 10.4.11 to a G4 running same.
    Check this article - http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20070226213016446
The PB could connect to an iMac with no problem and the G4 could connect to the PB and iMac and vice versa.
Turns out that com.apple.ByteRangeLocking.plist had been deleted from the G4 Root Library at some point. Copied it from the user preference file and everything now works again.
