Thunderbolt Display Didn't Show Anything!

I recently got Boxee. I connected to Thunderbolt Display 2nd port, but it's not working! I connected like this:
Mac Mini (2011) --> Thunderbolt Display built-in port
Boxee --> (HDMI to mini DisplayPort cable) --> Thunderbolt Display 2nd port
The Thunderblt Display didn't display anything from Boxee! Am I doing right? Do I need any other intermediate devices to ge this config work?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The Thunderbolt display will only work with Macs that have a
Thunderbolt port.  They are not compatible with any Mini Display Port
source.

Hallo there. I have a problem ! if i switch my iPhone 4 on, the dispay remain black. but i woner it is recognised by the itune. What problem can be?

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).  Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.

  • I cannot start-up my I Pod Classic. The display does not show anything. It won't power on...There is no icon of any kind..kinda 'dead' looking.

I cannot power up my I-Pod Classic. It is 2 years old  with serial # 7U7448PJY0P. Battery Problem ???

Connect to the USB port, for at least 2 hours, if after 30 minutes, the iPod LCD screen is still black, then it is not not the battery, but more severe hardware issue.
If you can see some life on the LCD Screen, then it is the battery, replaced it at any Apple Store or 3rd Party iPod service centre.

  • There is no display on Apple Thunderbolt display, when Daisy chain connect with six LaCie Little Big Disks.

    Hi, Everyone,
I have aquestion with Thunderbolt daisy chan.
I have six LaCie Little Big Disks and Apple Thunderbolt Display to make daisy chan and I got a problem.
I place the Apple Thunderbolt Display at the end of the chain, and six LaCie Little Big Disks infront, and Apple Thunderbolt Display does not show anything.
If I plac the dell u2711 (DP1.1) Display at the end of the chain, and six LaCie Little Big Disks infront , dell u2711(DP1.1) displays.
If I place the Apple Thunderbolt Display at the end of  the chain, and five LaCie Little Big Disks infront. Apple Thunderbolt Displays well.
Is it because the hardware limitation that Thunderbolt daisy chan can only have maximum 6 Thunderbolt deivce?
Apple Thunderbolt Display Should be DP1.2, why it doesn’t display?
My workstation running Windows 7x64 or Windows8.1x64
    Thanks ,Myron

if you reduce the number of disks to 5 and the display works, I think we'll have your answer.

  • The LCD just doesn't show anything...!!

    Dear all,
My computer just didn't show anything on the 17" LCD monitor last night, when I tried starting it after back home. At first I thought the computer itself couldn't start up. But after some tries, I found that the system actually was finished (the CD rom can be launched & sound was heard when I pressed on some keys of the keyboard accordingly). So I guessed it was the displaying problem. But I just didn't know what else I can try following...besides if I can find another mon to test it...
Would that be possible that something wrong happened to the display card of my computer ?
    Thx.

Anyone have this similar problem? or know what I need to do?

  • Thunderbolt display suddenly not working

I have a brand new MBP (retina), purchased about 2 months ago.  I also purhased a 27in thunderbolt display about 1 week ago.  The display has been working fine until tonight.  When i tried to wakup my laptop from sleep the thundebolt display didn't do anything.  I re-plugged all the cables and still got nothing.  Rebooted MBP, nothing... shutdown MBP, still nothing.
Removed all USB cables from display, pulled power cord from display, re-connected, still nothing.
Went through the guides on here about reseting PRAM, NVRAM and SMC.  Done all that, and nothing.
Also did the delete the /com.apple.windowserver.plist file... nothing seems to work.  I can still charge the laptop from the display, but plugging in the thunderbolt cable does nothing at all.
Pretty ****** off, this display is one week old and it suddenly dies?
I have another display (dell) which works fine from either thunderbolt port from the mac.
Any thoughts?  Is it the MBP or the display?
Software on MBP is Maviricks 10.9.2

So i left the MBP shutdown and the display unplugged from power overnight.
Connected it up this morning and nothing happened... left it connected and after about 10 minutes the display magically came to life out of no where...
    Seems a bit dodgy!

Yes, each blue rectangle is a screen. You can create different geometries, to suit your needs. For example, you can even make this kind of thing... :
    Or this:
I don't know why you would want to do that, but you can!

  • We didn't find anything to show here in archived emails

We use Outlook as an email client, since we don't have a Exchange Server. When I make an archive 2 months ago, it works perfect, I could see all my older messages in my inbox and folder created.  For  some reason (I believe after the last office
update or patch), every time i make an archive, when I open the file this message appear  "We didn't find anything to show here in archived emails" and it's very annoying. Nothing appears even it says that there are unread emails on the folder.
    How can I fix it?

    Hi,
Please check if you have any filter applied to this folder, try to click "Clear All" on filter dialog and see if it works:
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-au/outlook-help/view-settings-is-under-view-current-view-HT102769168.aspx
    Also, try to
use scanpst.exe tool to repair your archiver data file. Please refer to this article on how to use scanpst.exe:

    Hope this helps.

  • How do i show iTunes video on my Thunderbolt display?

I have a Mac Book Pro conected to a Thunderbolt display.  I buy movies on iTunes and would like to play them on the display. How?

I assume the same way - use Displays preferences or if the monitor has its own onscreen adjustment controls then use them.

  • Thunderbolt Display fan runs continuously in sleep mode

    Hello,
I have a new Thunderbolt display and new Macbook Pro 15" just setup.
I have been running in clamshell mode without any problems, but when I put the Macbook to sleep, the fan inside the Thunderbolt Display starts running quite loudly. When entering sleep, the display goes black and seems to be off, but after a few seconds the fan starts up and I can feel a stream of air coming out from under the display (the screen stays black).
The Macbook itself seems to be sleeping ok (the led on the side slowly flashes).
The fan in the display seems to run continuously at high speed: I left it in sleep overnight, and the fan was still running in the morning.
When I wake up the Macbook, the screen turns on and then the fan cuts back to normal (quiet) levels.
The various Thunderbolt software updates were all installed OK yesterday but didn't make any difference (the problem was there before and after installation).
(I also noticed that if I just plug in the power to the display, without the macbook cables connected, the fan will also run at high speed and never turn off, thought the screen itself seems to be off.)
Anyone else experiencing this or have any ideas how I can fix it?
    Regards,
    Ben

I hope you guys can get Apple to replace the display.
I have now received my replacement display and it works fine. No fan when the computer is sleeping or when the TB cable is disconnected.
If you are going to pick up a replacement screen in a store (or if you are buying a new one), I'd suggest you ask them to unpack it and plug it in while you are still in the store.  This particular problem seems to be apparent within about 30 seconds of the power being plugged in (make sure no computer is connected to the Thunderbolt port).
The store is often noisy and it may be difficult to hear the fan. So to test it, hold your hand under the bottom edge on the left side of the display (as you face the front of the screen) and see if you can feel the air stream from the fan (you will need them to peel back the plastic wrapping from that edge first, otherwise the vent is blocked). The fan does not turn on straight away when you plug in. I found it can take 30 seconds or so to start up.  With the faulty display, the blast of air is quite obvious to feel.
I bought another Thunderbolt display recently (at an authorised dealer, not an Apple Store) and made sure that they let me do this check before accepting it. Fortunately it was completely silent and no fan started running when the power was plugged in. They initially thought I wanted to check the screen itself, so at first they had it plugged in to a Macbook to show something on the screen, and they thought it was odd I wanted to check the display without anything connected - they hadn't heard of this fan problem before.
Good luck getting this sorted out!
    Ben
