Thunderbolt looses sound in middle of a call.

My boyfriend has a the Thunderbolt for about a month. When he calls my work number (I work for Verizon, in a Verizon owned building) we can talk for a few minutes then the sound goes out on his end. I can hear him talking, but he can't hear me. Sometimes the sound picks back up after a few seconds, sometimes its minutes. We've taken it into an experience store. They can't find a problem. He knows he's not muting it because I wouldn't be able to hear him if he was. It even happens when he has the speakerphone on. This happens to one other person he calls. But that person is using a HTC Sense(?) on Sprint. Has anyone else encountered this problem?

It only happens when he calls me on my work phone (landline) and he calls his friend (cellphone). We are the only 2 it happens to. Otherwise it works perfectly. I have the Droid X...if he calls me on that we can talk non-stop, no interruption and if he calls anyone else...any other network and other number he's fine. We took it in after he had it only a week and they could find nothing wrong with it.

My 8310 dropped the sound in the middle of a call. What i mean is, I was talking to someone and all of a sudden i couldn't hear them at all. Dead silence. It is still that way. I can hear a phone call if I put it on speakerphone, but otherwise nothing. I can't figure out how it happened or how to fix it. The calls are connected, I just can't hear anything. Does anyone know what this is?

Hearing problems in the middle of a call

ive having problems with my call lately , iam in the middle of a call and the other part begin to hear a kind of static meanwhile i can hear them clearly, its weird because it happens quen the headsets are plugged too, but when i put the mophie juice pack on the phone the problem disapears, i wonder why this is happening and if theres a software update to relieve my phone of the static noise=?

It may be that the phone is set to remind you when your balance falls below a certain amount. Its usually $5.00, I have been on the phone for long lengths of time and have never had this happen. Check under Setting and Tools and sound or voice settings. Also notifications settings. There mights be somewhere that says "remind me"

Why do apple headphones with mic loose sound???

i've had numerous apple headphones with mic and they seem to loose sound from one earplug!
Anyone know why? At £26 pound each time, they're not cheap!

headsets have been shortlived since I had walkmen in the early 1980's sure expensive ones last a bit longer but they all die pretty early
best way imho is to buy a stereo bluetooth headset which support the bluetooth profiles called a2dp

try general>settings>reset>reset all settings and start up as an new phone.

I recently upgraded from an iPhone 4s to an iPhone 5. I have a Motorola HX550 Bluetooth Headset which worked flawlessly with the iPhone 4s. However, since upgrading to the iPhone 5, I frequently lose audio when in the middle of a call. I am not certain whether it is a full disconnect or just an audio loss. The person on the other end reports still being able to hear me, however, I suppose they could hear me speaking over another source even if bluetooth disconnected. The loss of audio is always preceded by a quick shrill noise, so I can easily tell when it happens. All I have to do to fix the problem is to select Audio Source on the call screen, temporarily switch audio back to the iPhone, and then switch back to the headset, and then it starts working again.

Really nice Headset unless you own an Iphone 5. I own several Plantronics headsets and have always loved the quality/ performance. This headset seems not to be compatible with the new Iphone 5. In the middle of a conversation it will lose all incoming audio. This leaves you trying to switch audio sources really fast in order not to lose your phone call. Ive tried 3 legend headsets and they all do the same thing. Hopefully this gets fixed soon because the headset is really nice
Since this issue appears to affect multiple headsets from multiple vendors, I think it is fair to conclude that it is an issue with the iPhone5 bluetooth itself.
I am posting this as a new discussion as I don't see any other posts specific to this iPhone 5 Bluetooth issue. I would have reported this as a problem to Apple, but don't seem to be able to find a way to do this on the web. Hopefully they are already aware, but if not, maybe they will see i here.

here is an interesting thing: take the iphone and set lock screen to never. Now make an email with siri--be sure to activate her with call button. get to the body and get some text in there. then just stop talking. LOCK SCREEN APPEARS!!!!!! and of course you draft is gone.
There does seem to be a work around for some--maybe all these issues. Don't use the call button--use the buttons on the phone.
Siri seems to behave properly with scenerio above---sans call button. She does not go to lock.

My Iphone5 was replaced and having same Problem. Only does this when using bluetooth for talking.

I have the exact same issue... I've been using a Jabra Extreme2 and just this weekend, bought a Plantronics Marque2 and today had the same issue, so it's clearly not the headset but the phone or OS.
I might try a restore and see if it helps...

i have been using the video ipod since a month.i use videora to transcode videos..but today i dunno why but exactly after 30 sec. the movies get stuck for say 3-4 sec. and then i loose sound but the movies play from where they left..
i restored my ipod to factory settings but the problem still continues..i'm using the latest version of the software and i dunno whatz wrong all of a sudden..please help

It won't. I'll make it much worse. Stick to the 1.0 updater that came with your iPod and don't upgrade to 1.1.

I don't think the two are related. The noise is most likely the camera's autofocus mechanism and is normal. Wifi issues are not normal. Search this forum for iP5 wifi issues to look for solutions.

Without having the top button, you couldn't do a hard reset.
I'd say you might be looking at backing up and restoring through iTunes unfortunatley.

Loose sound on games, PLZ help

i download games but on a lot of games i loose sound, they will play for a while then the sound will go, its only on the games, sound works fine on everything else. thanks for any help

Maybe I understood your problem. Get to Settings > Sounds > Ringers and Alerts >Turn Change With Buttons to Off. And if your Side Switch is assigned to 'Mute', turn it back on, else, use the control center to turn off mute.

If its your original iPhone case that would be the problem.
If the case covers the top of the phone around the earpiece then it will also cover the sensors. Apple moved the sensors in the new phone so most full cover iPhone original cases will not work correctly with the iPhone 3G as it will thinkyou always have your head against the phone and so blanks the screen.
To test, remove phone from case and try it, think you will find it works fine.
