Thunderbolt signal keep falling out!?

Hello i have problem with the thunderbolt signal keeping falling out.
The problem occurs when i connect my MBA to a projecter or my tv, with an thunderbolt-vga adaptor or thundebolt-hdmi adaptor.
In around 70% of the time the signal is good and display video and sound (when using Hdmi), but 30% of the time the signal drops/falls out and there is either no connection or only sound.
Is the port falty or could it be something else?
Hope you can help me.
Mathias Brix
Ps. If needed i can post a video of the fallout

I must say i'm very disappointed. I payed over 2800 euro's for a new laptop with thunderbolt screen and all i got is frustrations and no help from apple.
Well, they did offer you help, only they'll need to get "hands on". Considering your investment, it's worth a trip to the nearest Apple store or service center, I'd say. Especially if it's unclear what causes your trouble... keep in mind that it could well be "user-inflicted" as well...
For as long as the latter point is unclear, you'll have to admit that you have no reason to complain or similar.

  • MacBook Pro Retina - power cord keeps falling out of machine

Just purchased this MacBookPro 2 days ago and the mag safe power cord keeps falling out of the computer! Very frustrating! Any fixes for this?

I know my wife lets out a *#@! now and then when she realizes her newer MBP had become disconnected from the MagSafe. It does take considerably less tension to pull it free. For those who have owned an Apple notebook with the previous version of MagSafe, this is a common complaint though I suspect Apple considers it a feature. The original MacBook Pro is considerably heavier than the MacBook Air and retina MBP models. Shortly after buying a 2011 MacBook Air I nearly pulled the computer off the table. Had it been the older MBP the MagSafe would have pulled free. So I suspect Apple intentionally made the new MagSafe easier to pull free. But as Oglethorpe said, you can take it back and should - if nothing else to compare your to the ones at the store.

  • XLR adapter keeps falling out of 1/8th inch jack on MacBook pro

I am doing the sound for a play. The sound is ran through a new MacBook Pro 13". I have an XLR cable plugged into a 1/8th inch adapter which then goes to the computers default headphone jack. The XLR keeps falling out when we have a sound cue, so therefore the sound dosen't get played at the right time. Right now we have a piece of paper to keep the adapter level, but sometimes that doesn't work
It anybody has any ideas, hurry please!!!!
The play is in two days!!!!
    Thanks

Would one of these not be a better option or something similar.

  • DSL cable keeps falling out of Openreach modem

I'm having an issue where the DSL cable doesn't "click" when I put it in, so the slightest pull or bump and the cable falls out and I lose my connection. I have had to sellotape the cable into the port just to stop it falling out all the time. I'm guessing this isn't a design flaw and my port is just busted, right? And would BT replace the modem for free?

    Hi there,
I think the issue you're having is that the retaining clip on the rj-11 connector has snapped off, hence the reason that it doesn't click into place. I've had this a couple of times with rj-45 (ethernet) cables in the past.
If I were you, I'd check your rj-11 lead to see if my suspicions are correct and if they are, then I'd go to that well-known auction site and do a search for rj-11 to rj-11 cables in the length you require.
    I hope this info helps.

  • Keeps falling out

Does anyone know a way to stop the Apple bluetooth headset falling out of your ear every time you go over a bump? I'm pretty sure my ears are "normal"! I've tried with and without the foam cover. I love the headset but for me it is definitely form over function at the moment.

I thought I'd have that issue, but fortunately I don't, as it turns out. However, when I was researching the purchase, I did run across iFitear (seems to be available only on eBay).
    Hope this helps...

  • Internet signal KEEPS dropping out!

This issue has been a cronic  problem and was supposed to be fixed by the DSL PRESIDENTAL team on 7/24.   I am still having issues....power cycling the modem on a daily basis, calling into first level tech support and we go aound and around with the same questions, reconfigurig the modem etc.   Received a new modem as well.  First level tech tells me they can not excalate it because he can not find anything wrong on our end ???   Two field techs out here and all come to the same conclusion....that I am on a circuit that is over loaded.  DLS PRESIDENTIAL team supposedly put us on another router/card in the CMO.   It was fine for less than a week and it has started all over again. This happened a few years ago  and affected hundreds in my area for over 9.5 months.   The night mare continues....we are paying ful price for a service that we are not getting.

**Smith**  The information that you are speaking of, is no longer viable.   I reached out to those on here that sent me messages in the past on that team and they have moved on to other positions.    The people from DSL Presidental team that have contacted me via a Private Conversation are no longer responding to that thread as well.     I may be jinxing myself but since Sunday 8/2 we have not had a signal droppage.    Thank you for checking in  on my situation

  • 6921 Wall Mount - The Clip to keep the phone on hook keeps falling out!!

Has anyone experienced this issue with the 6921 on-hook clips.  We turn the clip around when the phone is wall mounted and it hold the phone in.  But it comes out so easily, as soon as you lift the handset out it pulls the clips out!!! we have like 30 - 6921 phones that have done this.  I need to know if its possible to get spare 6921 clips, because we need them, anyone have an info on this?  Thanks

no, All the vendors I talked with say the phone is too new and not worth the money to fabricate yet. Not enough call for them.

  • Battery Keeps Falling Out

    Hi Everyone,
I just replaced my Ibook battery, and it's fallen out three or four times. Never had problems with the old battery, what can I do? TIA!

I would also check the plastic portion of the iBook case. This part of the case is notoriously fragile.
If none of the above work, I would think that it is your 'lock' for the battery. If you use your iBook while sitting on the couch, in your lap, and carry it around, sometimes you can inadvertently 'unlock' the battery.
    Hope this helps?
Is it an eBay battery? Or purchased from Apple? If you have purchased a 'knock-off' battery it could be a minor difference in the specifications, causing it to not fit properly.

  • Signal keeps dropping out when "waking up" from sleep state

When I reboot or reset my network settings,my Iphone 6 gets 5 bars with 3G (with 4g disabled or enabled). But when I LOCK THE PHONE and wait for maybe 1 minute and unlock it, the signal drops to 1 bar, search network and restore to 5 bars.It happens every time I lock the Iphone! I tried already restoring (IOS 8.1.3) and upgrading to 8.2, switching off and resetting network data. Nothing works, I look like it stays in a "low power mode", and when it wakes up the internet come back after searching for the network...I can not use internet immediatly. And this is happening when I am using it too! When I lock the phone, my nightmare start, with the network disconnecting and connecting,

    Hi,
I am coming from the MacBook faction, but there were similar posts in there, regarding at least your picture#2, the vertical colored lines.
The consensus was (and I cannot write from own experience here, just relaying the message) that this has something to do with system parameters. To rewrite these parameters, one has to set a different screen resolution than the current one and save the settings and then go back to the old resolution again and save the settings as well. We were told, this would prevent the colored vertical line issue, at least for the MacBook.
Worth a try, it is easy enough to do.

    Woelund

  • The cord to my Airport won't stay plugged in. It just falls out, and I can't get a connection. Should I just order a new cord, or is there another problem?

What can I do to get a new cord for my Airport/Time Capsule? The cord keeps falling out of my Airport device. When it was loose, I could sometimes adjust it & get wireless service again. Now I cannot get a light to come on at all so no wireless service. The cord does not feel like it is connecting when I try to plug it in, and it just falls to the floor. I would really appreciate help. I miss my wireless!

I don't take offense. The TK isn't new, but had been sitting stationary before a recent move. My son moved it during a visit, then I noticed that the cord kept falling out. I tried several times to reinsert it, but apparently I was too cautious and didn't get it pushed in all of the way.
With your information that it should be a tight fit, I was more aggressive in pushing it in, and it did attach this time. The light is green again. Thank you very much!

  • Has anyone come up with a way to stop Earpods falling out?

Apparently (according to the Ad) these Earpods are actually designed for all ears. Though they sound pretty good, actually comparable to my old Bose IE2 headphones, sadly, they just fall out. One ear is worse than the other but essentially unusable. There must be a way to put them in a silicon cover thing like the Bose. Just hope Apple do as I have read quite a few posts already, to be fair, trade descriptions are being contravened. I’d understand if I had mutated ‘lugholes’ but they really aren’t

I have worked out way of modifying the earpods so they don't fall out. I cut 4-5mm off the big ends of some ear plugs, punched holes in them with a ring-binder paper punch then glued them to the tips of the earpods with loctite 406 (a superglue type of adhesive that works with some plastics). Only use a small amount of the glue though or the ear plugs will soak it up and get too hard to be comfortable. When the glue has set, compress the earplug material as much as possible, then push the earpod ito your ear and hold it in place for 30 seconds or so to let the foam expand, then the earpod won't keep falling out.

  • Gps keeps cutting out on N97

I have just used navigation for the second time on the N97 and the gps signal keeps cutting out making it impossible to use voice guided navigation.
Tried it next to my old Navigator which worked fine once it picked up the signal which makes me think it's something to do with the hardware not the weather conditions.
The signal cuts out every 20 seconds or so intermittently and often can't pick it up again.
    Can anybody help?

To be honest I don´t think there´s anything you or we can do to sort this out, since it is pretty probable that it is a hardware problem.
Help should be provided by a Nokia Care Point to fix your GPS problem

  • How to keep earbuds from falling out?

I got these earpuds with my iPhone 5s But I never really used them because they were a bit uncomfortable and kept falling out my ears. But I'm going on vacation soon and I don't want to lug around my headphones And i was thinking of using my earbuds instead (because of their portability) I'll be sitting in an airplane for 12 hours And planning to watch movies, so what can I do to keep my earbuds in my ears without constantly holding them in.

guess different people have different air sizes I stopped using mine when running because that made them fall out otherwise I never had any issues
for my running troubles I bought a a2dp bluetooth behind the neck headset works perfect
**** now you made me feel guilty that it's been too long since i ran!

  • Apple TV homesharing keeps dropping out ...

The homesharing on my Apple TV keeps dropping off randomly.
I have a mac with wired ethernet access, and the Apple TV uses my wifi connection.
The setup was OK, and YouTube and NetFlix are fine, but the homesharing will drop off at random times (I see the message "activate homesharing on itunes" under the Computers menu option). My mac is set to never sleep, and itunes is running continuously, so I know that isn't the problem. Wifi signal strength is 80% in the Apple TV menu.
    Can anyone help ?

I'm in the same boat. I've had absolutely no problems up until recently. I have 2 Mac computers and both computers can detect eachother's shared library but they keep disappearing from off my 2 ATV 2s. I don't think it's a router thing because I can still access internet content (ATV 2 detects the networks and can still use it) but the shared libraries just disappear. I don't know if the issue is with itunes of ATV 2 but I'm thinking its software related because both ATVs are crapping out. I've had the ATVs for months with absolutely no problems and now I can't hardly use them.
I'm quickly falling out of love with ATV because its like our entire movie collection is randomly unavailable to us and we have to keep resetting the unit to get back functionality...but only for a short time.
Is anyone still experiencing this issue? Anyone found a permanent work around?

  • 3G connection keeps dropping out after 4.2.1 update

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone could help me.
I have the iPhone 4, and it was working perfectly... until I upgraded to iOS 4.2.1.
Ever since then, my 3G connection keeps dropping out, and I'm just left with vodafone UK (with usually 3-4 bar signal) but no 'o', 'E' or '3G' symbol.
After about 20 minutes of no cellular data, I'd get the 'o' symbol, then 10 seconds later it would change to '3G'. But then after 5 seconds it would lose it. The cycle would continue in this way.
Strangely, when at home, the 3G would stay connected. But when I go anywhere, I lose 3G.
When I turn 3G off, I get constant 'o' connection where ever I go. It doesn't drop out.
I've tried resetting the phone, and resetting network settings.
    Does anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks.

I'm having a similar issue with my new iPhone 4 (w/ 4.2.1)... It continually cycles through the following sequence:
    AT&T / 3G
    AT&T / No Data
    Searching…
    Searching… 3G
    AT&T / 3G
    (loops…)
Here is a video of the cycling. Note the iPhone 4 is just sitting on a coffee table in my house.
    http://dl.dropbox.com/u/7186070/ip4fw421searching.mov
Also worth noting, I just got the iPhone 4 and I updated it to 4.2.1 right away. Previously, I had a 3GS which did not exhibit any of this behavior in the same location in my house. Also, my girlfriend still has a 3GS and has FW 4.2.1 without these issues. I have a video of her phone in the exact same location taken just after the clip above and her phone maintains 3-bars / AT&T / 3G the entire time.
I picked up the iPhone 4 while out of state over the holiday weekend and did not observe any of these connectivity issues, in fact the 3G throughput of the iPhone 4 was significantly better (consistently got >4 Mbps down / >800 Kbps up) than what my family members were seeing with their 3GS models.
I believe it is a baseband issue introduced with the 4.2.1 update for iPhone 4, but I also strongly believe there is some tower component to this problem (ie, software revision at the tower or configuration).
Like others here, I also performed a restore to 4.2.1 through iTunes and setup my phone as "New" and I continue to see the behavior. The phone is unusable in my house unless I manually disable 3G. As a final data point, when I'm able to maintain a 3G connection long enough in my house I get the following throughput from Speedtest.net: 1863 Kbps down / 543 Kbps up.
