Greetings
Grim

I am trying to find out where i can get this software for THX configuration. I bought an XFi Extreme Music card. However, the Driver/software CD was cracked when I opened the box. This didnt bother me too much as im on XP64 and it probably would have been of little use to me. Now I hear about this THX Config software, I would like to try it. Is there a version that supports XP64. Also where can I get the documents that explain the features of the Driver configuration utility for XP64. I did find one help file for the XFi, but its about the hardware not the software.
Thanks for any help

  • X-Fi THX console for windows vista? (need low pass to subwoof

Hi, back on XP the installation CD included a THX console that could be used to setup a LFE or subwoofer channel. Since I've "upgraded" to vista x64 I haven't been able to find a working version of this nor a workaround. I have a plugin for foobar which accomplishes this task; but, I'd like to take advantage of it while watching dvd's and gaming.
Does anyone know where I can find a THX console for Vista x64 or any other way to do this uni'versally?
    Thanks,
    Rob
ps: this is for the x-fi xtrememusic

Let me try to explain it again. First you install the old windows xp. Go to the sound blaster install folder. Look for the THX console folder. Save it to a disc. Install windows vista. Put the saved folder back on your computer it can be anywhere. Install the vista driver and then you will be able to open the .exe file in the THX Console folder and it should work. It works for me. Hope it works for you.

  • Petition for Creative to provide updated THX console for Audigy 2Z

    Hi everyone
I do not wish to upset the apple cart here, but I felt something had to be posted on this very forum. Yesterday I installed an X-FI Fatalty FPS soundcard for a client, and might I add it is a very fine soundcard indeed. I noticed the software/driver CD contains an updated and unreleased version of the THX console found on the Audigy 2ZS/4 driver CD's.
Now I can understand you might think so, who cares if it's newer?
Well this all new THX console application has a bass profile tab where you can configure the level of your sub and the size (radius) of your speakers, but the real must have feature is this new THX console contains profiles for several Creative Brand Speakers. E.g. instead of just having generic 7. speakers you can chose to Gigaworks S750 or Inspire T7700 from the menu. In fact it includes speaker profiles for a lot of speakers.
Since the 2ZS/4 are already THX approved soundcards which include the THX console software application I think it is only fair Creative release an updated version of this application for us to, because it is far more useful than the one bundled on our CD's
Might I add I also like the new Entertainment Centre.
Please add your name to this list and if we generate enough attention, who knows maybe Cat will pass on to the software team our interests.
Remember we have just got the updated version of the DVD Audio Player, so almost anything is possible.

    Hi <SPAN>johnston2
Thanks for offering to help. I copied the THX console off my clients driver CD onto my USB Pen, unfortunately it does not work with the Audigy 2 ZS, for some reason it does not install and I do not know how to get it to run
I would very much appreciate any help you are able to offer, but obviously for a kosher application for the Audigy 2 ZS/4/4 Pro by Creative would be awesome.

The default location for the iTunes library on a Vista system is in:

After getting into the choose library dialog, if you browse inside there do you find your own library inside there?

I know that using DK's packs i can install the THX console and i 've used them for my older x-fi cards(really great packs for those older cards btw!). but installing his packs seems to alter other things even though all im installing is just the THX console. is there a way i can install just the THX console for my auzentech Home Theatre HD without one of DK's packs?

    Today is your luck day.
Just sent this to a friend, so I've decided to make it publicly available.

There is no hardware check, so it will install on any system, but obviously will only support devices with a X-Fi PCI or PCI-E chipset.
Finally, to make it clear, it supports Auzen X-Fi Prelude, Forte and HomeTheater HD cards.

  • Audigy 2 ZS THX Console in Vi

Anyone managed to get THX console working in Vista for Audigy series? I'm using Audigy 2 ZS.

THX console for Vista is a really tall order.
I mean, they can't even release a driver that deli'vers 5. properly.... :robotmad:
I believe daniel_K did release a package with it in though. Unofficial Audigy Series Software CD for Win2000 / XP / Server 2003 / Vista?32/64-bit .
Sorry, but the release notes say XP support only.

  • Creative THX Console sorfware for window

    Hello all.
I am running a Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS and using Windows XP Pro 64. Can anybody tell me if I can get a version of the "Creative THX Console sorfware" for my OS?
I Found the software really handy when I was running windows XP 32bit. could I use the software that came with my soundcard driver CD with my 64bit drivers.
Thanks for reading my silly noobi question
    Oddsodz

I don't know about the X-Fi, but Creative tech support told me that with the Audigy 2 ZS I should?completely uninstall all the software from the CD since it would not work correctly with the newest drivers. If the same situation applies to X-Fi cards, you might find that the THX console doesn't work correctly with the new drivers anyway.
Creative told me that the new drivers were designed to put everything in the new "Creative Audio Console," which is a regular "windows like" panel that contains adjustments like EAX, effects, etc. They would not give me direct answers to some of my questions, but the idea appeared to be that they were moving away from the proprietary "Creative" versions of the adjustments, like the Creative Mixer and so forth.

  • Audigy WORKING with 5.1 AND software(EAX, THX console, bass redirection) Vista 32

This has taken me a week of fiddling, but now on Vista Ultimate 32bit I have most things up and running...
EAX effects and environments from the control panel work, THX console works, surround mixer, speaker settings work..Also I'm getting proper surround output =]
This isn't a complete fix; EAX console and the EQ don't work, and also it only lets me set 6bit@96khz in the control panel, 24bit isn't there =[
    I'm using an Audigy 4...
First, I installed creative official vista drivers. Then uninstalled the drivers but left audio console installed.
    Install Pax-Apps 2.32sp2 http://www.youp-pax.org/viewthread.php?tid=443&extra=page%3D
Reboot...now my audigy was not working here but all the creative apps were installed. THe youp-pax drivers caused a BSOD after the reboot but after another reboot it went into windows just without the sound working.
Run the Pax installer again, select remove drivers and remove them but leave the software, reboot.
Install the official Creative windows XP drivers. This is the hard step, I had some problems and had to reboot and uninstall-reinstall about 0 times before I finally got it working...but now it works.
Still, I want my 24bit and my EAX console =[

I have this (well kinda) problem also. Sometimes my system (see below) will work fine, but then suddenly the channels will swap or the sub just won't give any bass.
Have tried contacting both Creative and Microsoft support for some insight but nothing apart from the standard stuff so far. I guess its a vista/4Gb RAM issue. Looking forward to using WaveRt drivers in case they give a difference.

  • THX Console doesn't exi

I have scoured the forums up and down, and I've seen similar problems, but none have been resolved satisfactorily.
Simply put, I have an X-Fi and no THX Console. None. Nowhere.
As a matter of fact, the only thing that got installed (along with the drivers) is the Audio Console. I have the original install CD, and I can see the THX Console on the CD, but can't install it directly. Anyone have the same problem? Know how to fix it's? I may end up just downloading a new installation disc ISO and hoping that gives me the option to install all the other apps that are on the CD.

    RyanJW wrote:
None of the Vista drivers come with anything more than the basic audio console (the thing that looks like a generic Windows application) as far as I'm aware. What I had to do to get the THX console and everything else (the EQ adjuster was most important for me) by downloading the youpax drivers off BitTorrent.
The youpax drivers as far as I'm aware basically the apps modified a bit so they work on Vista. I don't believe you can normally download it anywhere so a crash course in BitTorrent may be necessary (or so pro Googling).
First of all you are assuming they are referring to Vista and not Xp. Also look at the date when this thread was started, March , 2006; doubtful the OP was talking about Vista (or ever came back here either). And as far as the apps for Vista did you miss this,?http://us.creative.com/products/prod...7&product=6743?which you can also find on most torrent sites. Not only that but you get ALL the apps, and not just the ones that youP managed to modify.

  • Console Launcher/THX-Console do not recognise X-FI Titanium

    Hi,
I bought a PCI-E SB X-FI Titanium yesterday. Unfortunatly I have got some major Problems.
First no sound was played, but I managed to fix it. Then I tried to install the Creative Console Launcher & THX. No Chance.
The Installation either won`t recognise that i have got the newest Media Player or it told me that no suitable soundcard is installed (tried different versions), although Windows recognises it as SB X-FI and sound works "fine".... Also my mic isnt working. After a whole day of searching and severals reinstallations of several driver versions I am now using the daniel k drivers .. Console Launcher and THX-Console are installed now, but if I try to start them, it tolds me that it hasnt recognized a suitable soundcard again....Mic also still isnt working, but sound is really fine. (I found a solution for the mic problem, but the console launcher is required...). Right now I'm really pi... off, and considering to send the card back and buy another one, but hopefully someone can help me, because the sound seems great to me.

The other motherboard I got it to work fine on was an ASUS Maximus Extreme that had the x38 Express chipset.

  • THX console hangs with pegged

While slidiing the THX control bass redirection/cutoff freq. slider (was using it for a minute or two), the thing locked up. I checked the taskmanager and one CPU is pegged. The offender is
    CTXFISPI.EXE
Must be in a infinite loop, maybe waiting on the driver? Sound still works. Just the THX console program is not responding. Have to kill it to put me out of my misery.
Also, in Game mode (I'm using the web driver), lots of ticks in bf942. If I use Entertainment mode, no ticks.
    xfi pro
Tip: In the THX console, if you use LARGE for your front speakers, the subwoofer channel won't get any general output (perhaps only used when it gets special LFE input?). Switch it to small and you get the woof back in. That's in entertainment mode, at least. That may differ in other modes.

    Noone who knows?

  • Problem THX Console Audigy 2

I am having following problem using the latest official drivers of the Audigy 2 ZS:? In THX Console changing the dB number of each individual speaker has no effect. Also I noticed that in Audio Console, CMSS3D options moving the fader slider also has no effect. Changing the CMSS mode only works for switching to CMSS2 mode, but the sliders still have no effect. Also selecting CMSS off, sound keeps coming out of all 5 speakers (5. configuration). I have tried resinstalling the drivers and software of my Sound Blaster but it has no effect.

Yes, the settings are saved. Only if I enter the number by keyboard they are not, but I think that is a known issue. The problem is more global than the THX Console itself, because the change of settings through the Audio Console or even EAX Console is ineffecti've. It defaults to CMSS upmixing and although I can change the option to Stereo Surround it doesn't make a difference. It is very strange, because before I reinstall Windows all was working fine. Ohh yes... And I tried yesterday to install the original drivers and during the install Windows gave me an error about "NTWrite..." something. There was only an OK option and I clicked it. The drivers did install, despite the warning?and everything appears to be working apart from the fader,?CMSS and THX options., as previous.

    Hello,
i have creative audigy 2 and work very well, but THX Console -> Callibration does not rememmbered my setting and after reboot every time i must reconfigure it. How i fix this problem? I have lattest THX Console.
    Regards,
    John Smith

    Hi folks!
Well, it's been a long time, since this thread was created! Unfortunately, I'm forced to re-open the topic once more - though, I don't think I'm getting any helpful replay anyway, or? ;-)
First, Jeremy, AV may be the solution, but in most cases it isn't! In fact, you can pretty much mess around in the registry, without being bothered by any AV or FW alerts (eventually, Windows itself will refuse the change settings due to some access-restrictions) - I know it, believe me!
Second, John, I do have the same problem with my Audigy 2 ZS (now for a pretty long time!). Creatives is well aware of the problem, but just did nothing (or almost) to change it. When I bought the card and installed the drivers, no THX-settings were saved at all. It was just because of bad drivers! Although Creative offered a patch soon afterwards, the problem was solved only partially.
Because I don't think, Creative will improve the drivers anymore; I actually was hoping to find anyone knowing where in the Windows-registry one can find the parameters (distance, dB, angle) of the THX settings!?! Does anyone?
Help would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance!!
    Cheerio,
    JackaL
