THX setup console is NOWHERE to be fou

so far this question has been posted about 40 times and there has been no solutions for it so i'll ask it again,I?cannot find the THX console anywhere, it is on my setup disk but when i run it i get "setup has experienced an error" there is no download for it anywhere (accept for audigy) and i have tried about0 different things from various post to try and resolve this, including a full uninstall of all drivers and sofware (in safe mode) STILL no thx console, and i assume this is where the proper speaker config settings are as the creative drivers have none,So i have a sound card that is more expensi've than my motherboard but i get better 5. from my realtek on board sound!!?is there a way to fix this!!!theres not much point in 5. if you have no rear speakers,?it is getting old realy fast and so far the only fix iv found is to just not use the card, which isnt what id prefer to do with a brand new sound card.

Thanks for the reply, those drivers look pretty cool, i'll give them a try later!!
I managed to resolve the problem, its caused when you get the latest drivers and install them WITHOUT installing the ones from the disk, once youv put in the new ones you cant put in the old utilities, so for anyone else getting this problem. .uninstall all creative software (ALL)2.uninstall device in device manager.3.restart.4.install the drivers and utils?from your disk.5.restart, then install newer drivers.6.JOB DONE!?

  • THX setup console, no digital out

I have Audigy 2 ZS notebook. I connected it to my home theater system via optical cable but I can not get 5. sound from all of my speakers. I can not select digital output on THX setup console. It is even not highlighted. Am I missing something? Looking forward to getting help.

hey, i'm a newbie to all of this but i remembered that when i installed the sound card there were two sets of drivers, one for 5. surround sound and one for 2. stereo sound. you might not be able to select 5. surround because the wrong drivers are installed. try uninstalling it and reinstalling it with with 5. from the initial set up. maybe that will straighten it out. just thought that might help. but if it doesn't, well, i'm a newbie......

  • THX Setup Console Involuntary Configuration Cha

Presently I have a 5. speaker selection which works fine (sometimes). For some unexplained reason my default settings in THX Setup Console periodically change from 5. to 2., with the resultant cutoff of 3 speakers. At the same time, the location of my Front Center Channel Selection changes from my settiing of 'Above monitor' to 'Below monitor. My default changes remain in place for a variable time, ranging from several days to several weeks. I have installed the latest Audigy update (SBAX_WEBUP_LB_2_08_0004) with no effect. Win XP Pro, SP2.

It looks like you are not hitting r2 through the console, you are hitting r2 via telnet.
If this is true, you should be able to put a password on vty 0 4 and sucessfully connect.
"Password needed and none set" is a telnet error ... not someting that would come from a console connection.
In your host definitions on the TermServer, remember to use a loopback address of te TermServer (along with the port 2001, 2002 ...).
Like: host r2 192.168.1.1 2002 <--192.168.1.1 is the loopback address of the termserver (itself).
    Good Luck

    Today is your luck day.
Just sent this to a friend, so I've decided to make it publicly available.
    http://hotfile.com/dl/3546352/e568d/AuzenTHXConsole_3_50_05.exe.html
There is no hardware check, so it will install on any system, but obviously will only support devices with a X-Fi PCI or PCI-E chipset.
Finally, to make it clear, it supports Auzen X-Fi Prelude, Forte and HomeTheater HD cards.

  • Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Music Bass level control in THX setup cons

hi, i have a Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Music, plugged in to a Logitech X-530 speaker system. The problem i'm having its in the bass redirection controls in THX setup console... The crossover frequency works fine, but i can't control the subwoofer level, i tried it a few days ago and it worked, it was the first and last time it worked... any help?

Hello, I know this is un related but I require your help. Im on the same setup as you but I have the next speakers up the X 540. However the sound card seems to be louder on the left than the right. Is this something to do with the Crossover you mentioned?
    Thanks for you help.

  • Problems with the/while opening the THX Setup Cons

    hi everybody,
hopefully i'm not asking an already often answered question, but since i didn't find a solution for my problem on the initial forum search i'll try my luck with a new thread.
my first (little) problem is that whenever i open the thx setup console all volumes are set to the maximum. not that big of a deal, but still annoying. is there something i can do against this?
the second (not that big either) problem is, that the calibration settings, to be exactly the db-settings, in the thx console aren't properly saved. sometimes (i didn't yet find out after doing what or when or why) they are just changed, and i have to set them for my setup again. any ideas?
thx for your help in advance,
    -vio

I had the same problem. Sometimes the settings just seemed to change, not sure why. I don't know of a fix and there is no save button.
I just finished uninstalling everything Creative and then reinstalled the THX Console off the original disc only, then the new Audio Console, then the new Beta Drivers. Everything is working fine for now. There is also an update for the THX Console, but I haven't installed it yet.
    Good luck, hope this hel

  • Why Creative site doesn't have Speaker setup console installer?

I mean they ship with install disc with Vista version and they expect it to work perfect with Windows 7 or upcoming Windows 8? I want Creative to post there thx console setup or speaker console setup standalone installer on there website. So it would be easy for everyone to download the latest version(if they have updated).

Well, nobody seems to have this problem?

  • EAX Console issues: An error has occur

Hi there. My name is Emil, 2 years old, and from Gothenburg, Sweden.
I have a SoundBlaster Audigy 2ZS and EAX console , 5. i think. I've searched the board and read the FAQ without any help at all, so i made a new thread.
Yesterday, my EAX Console flipped out, or as a matter of fact, my whole Creative MediaSourcePlayer and all of it's function flipped out. Whenever i try to launch the following program, it says an error has occurred:
    Surroundmixer (Surmixer)
    EAX Console
    AudioHQ
    Creative MediaSource Player
    THX Setup Console
    Speaker Settings
    Diagnostics
    Graphic Equalizer
    I've tried the following things:
    ) Reboot
    2) Installing CMS_PCAPP_LB_3_30_2.exe as stated in the help.
I don't know anything about Hardware, so for me to switch PCIslots and stuff like that is impossible. I have no issues about regedit or stuff like that, but I just can't handle anything concluding the hardware.
Thanks in advance, and regards // Emil Svensson, Sweden.

IIrc, this issue has already been here (though looooong ago) and the cure were to reinstall some dll(s), but I can't remember which ones.
If not already tried this, try w/ reinstalling the whole software bundle from original CD (no drivers, but software only). You can start the installer from CD by running the start.exe which can be found on folder CTRun\.

  • Missing THX or EAX Center with X-Fi Xtreme Mu

Hello and greetings from Germany!?I recevied my Creative X-Fi Xtreme Music and plugged it into my computer. I started the system and Windows XP reminded me "found new hardware...". I installed the drivers with the included Creative Installation CD for Windows XP. All worked fine and Windows XP said the new hardware is now ready to be used.Ok, fine. I found the new Sound Blaster as "SB X-Fi Audio [E000]" in the sound-settings of Windows XP. I've also got the Audio-Console from Creative, where I'm able to do some preferences like CMSS-3D, Crystalizer and so on. I'm using a 5. System from Teufel and I get sound out of all speakers except the Subwoofer! I can manually turn its volume to maximum, but there's nothing. I'm completly missing preferences as they are shown here: http://www.teufel.de/de/Magazin/Prax...tion/index.cfm?I don't have got a THX-Console or a EAX-Console. I didn't find any software in the downloads for X-Fi Xtreme Music which looked like as they include such a Console...So I'm not able to activate the bass redirection, to test the several speakers for themselves, to set the distances of the speakers to each other, to set the audio signal and so on. Perhaps the problem is connected with the following thing:?I installed the drivers with the Windows XP Assistant (CD in, and then it started...), but when I insert the Installation CD from Creative now, I got two possibilties: "Sound Blaster X-Fi" and "Creative Media Source" I also installed "Creative Media Source" completly, but I didn't find anything like THX- or EAX-Center there. If I try to install "Sound Blaster X-Fi" it goes on like that:?Install-Shield Wizard starts and before it really starts with the installation, the following window comes up:?"Error?Setup can't find any supporting product on your system. Please check if your product is correctly installed, before you start the setup again. The installation is finished."?That was a loose translation by me of that upcoming window. When i press "OK" then in that window, the Install-Shield Wizard goes on with the installation (?) and the software says, that the installation has been successfully and that i have to restart the computer. So I don't really know, what or why this error message comes up, but fact is, that I haven't got any THX-Console or EAX-Console. I hope I could describe you my problem in a passably understandable way. *g*?As I said, I'm using Windows XP and the X-Fi Xtreme Music. Before I used On-Board Sound from my mainboard with the Realtek AC'97 software/drivers. I hope I could get help from anyone - I would be really happy. ?GreetingsSkYfiGhTeR?Message Edited by SkYfiGhTeR on 05-9-200704:32 AM

  • X-fi Gamer, 5.1 Setup advice requi

    I Have a X-Fi Gamer. I also have a RCA theater system: http://www.rcaaudiovideo.com/product...uct=22&post=38
    When I plug my /8" into output into the card and 2 rca ends into home theater system i dont get all speakers working. If i change the /8" into a different output different speakers work when I run test through windows and creative own software. I think I grasp why. So I have a couple of questions;
) is it possible to buy a triple /8" Cable too 2 RCA connections so that I can have all my outputs connecting to one input on my home theater ? (it doesnt allow mutliple inputs from what I can see) Anyone heard of one of these or an adaptor that works ?
    2) Flexijack- Does this run all the channels at once ? If so, could I just puchase this : http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...oductId=202693?, plug it in, plug in my coaxial cable to that and into the digital coax input on the home theater would this allow the test to work ?
    3) From what I have read on forums looking for answers to the above, I would have to disable my cards dolby processor as my theater system has one ? I couldnt find where to do that in the settings, any pointers?
Most of the links in the FAQ dont link to where they are supposed too, i did look there first.!.
    Thanks for ya help!

Hi, I have the same setup as you except I am using the extreme gamer, I have some questions about the positioning of your speakers. First of all how accurate is your speaker layout?, second have you gone through the thx setup console in your speaker settings and checked off all the right options, and have you inputed the correct distances?relati've?to?your seating position?, thrid?what kind of music formats do you usually play? When I first replaced my audigy 2 for the x-fi I personally thought it was horrible, I couldnt seem to bare the high and low tone's and the midrange was just out of wack, i thought man i got ripped off, so i was screwing around with it one day looking at all the options and decided to check out the music creation mode setting. I just happened to be listening to?a song at the time and I noticed on the graphical mixer that the input source was distorting also known as the wave line, so I turned the wave input line down to 3 percent, and noticed a phenomanel difference, that was just the starting. I then went back to entertainment mode and went to the thx setup in the speaker settings console, and used a tape measure to get my distances, and a little bit of autocad to figure out my angles and then I set it up accordingly, turned the sub volume down to 66% and set all the speaker sizes to large,?I am also using the Xpand feature, not too many people like this setting but i?find once?all the?speaker distances?are setup and all the?right options are selected it sounded amazing, I also turned off the crystalizer, SVM,?EAX, and the EQ and I set all my other irrelati've inputs to 0 and muted them all. I cant believe the difference in quality I got from spending some time and thoroughly setting it up correctly,?the X-fi?now?completely blows my audigy?2 away. DVD's have never sounded better,?games are working so much faster, music is unbelivable, now just some new Speakers. I hope this is useful to you later

  • 7.1 Setup problems with X-Fi Card

I just installed the Soundblaster X-Fi card and hooked it up a new set of GigaWorks S750 7.1 speakers.
The problem I?m having is that I'm getting almost all of the sound out of the front 2 and center speakers and very little (almost like a bleed over effect) out of the side and rear speakers.
When I run the THX assignment test (or any of the tests to get the speaker placement and settings) to see if the sound is coming out of the correct speakers I get very strange results. The front left, front center, and front right speakers all sound fine and you can only hear the test coming out of the speaker that you are testing as it should be. However, when testing the side and rear speakers I can hear the test faintly in them and very well from the front speakers (when testing the side right speaker I can hear 'side right' from the side right speaker but mostly from the front right speaker at a ratio of like 90/10 in favor of the front speaker, the same goes with the rear speakers).
I would imagine that if you test the rear right speaker you should just hear the test coming from the rear right speaker, not mostly from the front right speaker. There must be something screwed up with the way that the speaker settings are set up, but I can't figure out what to do to get the speakers to all pull their own weight.
BTW, everything is connected and hooked up correctly to the soundcard and the speaker wires are all connected as they should be. The system is setup in 7.1 in both the Windows advanced audio properties and the Soundblaster software.

Well, after testing this in a game I've noticed a problem. With CMSS-3D enabled I'm getting complete surround sound from all speakers (great for listening to music, but I'm getting no locational sound in that setup - i.e. if something makes a sound from behind the character I'm hearing the sound from all the speakers). By disabling CMSS-3D I'm only getting sound out of the front right, center, front left speakers again and no locational sound in this fashion either.
I imagine that if you are testing the speakers and you test the front right speaker you should only hear the response from the front right speaker, and when you test the side right speaker you should only hear the response from the side right speaker, but I can't seem to get this to work. Sound is either only coming out of the front speakers or it's coming out of all the speakers, either option is acceptable and I know it has something to do with how the sound system is set up but I can't figure out what I need to do to get everything working correctly.
Basically when I test the speakers (in the volume panel or the THX Setup Console) I want to hear the test response for the front right speaker only coming from the front right speaker and the test response for the left side speaker only coming from the left side speaker. This is not happening and I'm pretty sure it should be, everything is hooked up correctly so it has to be something in the setup.

  • Creative Console Launcher To Autost

    Hi!
When the new driver was released I did a clean install.
I removed all of the previouse SB installations with Add/Remove.
    Rebooted
    Installed the drivers.
    Rebooted
I then went into the X-FI driver disc and selected only THX setup console and Creative Console (I think that is the correct name of it).
    Rebooted.
Now here?s the "problem" Before I had some other stuff like midi things (dunno the real name) and I didn?t want that anymore.
The Creative Console Launcher autostarted and put itself as a little icon right beside the windows clock. Now it doesn?t.
I don?t want do add it to startup couse then I don?t get the little icon. Instead i will have the full menue.
How can I get that little autostarted Icon back?
Update: The icon appears to be named "X-Fi icon" and can be seen here

  • THX certificatio

hello all,i was browsing through creative website and came accross X-fi xtreme gamer card, and As i scrolled down to the end of the page i read the following lines? "Enjoy truly cinematic movie sound
The Sound Blaster X-Fi sound card deli'vers THX? certified surround sound and includes Cyberlink's PowerDVD software with DTS? and Dolby Digital?-EX decoding via free download for an unbeatable DVD movie watching experience. (Internet connection is required)"?please notice that in the second line it says THX certified surround sound,so i immeadiately went to thx website,?? http://www.thx.com/products/home/desktopmm.htmland to my shock in the thx certified desktop systems this sound card was not at all listed!.is creative lying?."beware new buyers don't buy this xtreme gamer or xteme audio as they are not at all X-fi".please reply to this message with your opinion.

I'm pretty sure the XtremeGamer is THX certified. After all?there haven't been lawsuits and?certifying a multimedia product isn't as hard as certifying a movie theater, however, since the certifications specs are not public, it is impossible to verify if any card really fullfills the requirements. Most likely the list hasn't been updated. The only card that isn't a 'real' X-Fi is the XtremeAudio, and on the product page it doesn't claim to be THX certified. Furthermore, the only tangible benefit from the THX logo in the box is the ability to install the THX setup console to do some speaker calibration.

  • THX Supp

With the first Vista drivers for the Audigy 2 ZS everything seemed to work. I was getting all 5. channels to work correctly and was able to set my speaker distances in the THX setup console. Starting with the second set of beta drivers that were released in mid-January I've had no such luck.
I'm currently running Vista Home Premium 32 bit and the most up-to-date drivers for my Audigy 2 ZS. When I set the soundcard to function in 5. the rear two channels are repeated over the front two, i.e. rear left plays over my front left speaker.
When I attempt to open the THX control panel an error message pops up "Error obtaining THX Interface! Please install and register CTTHXCAL.DLL."
The EAX Console simply will not start.
Any clues for how to fix this?

I am having exactly the same problem. The .dll file is definately there in my system 32 folder, but still this messgae comes up & I'm unable to access the TXX console.Any ideas?TIA.
