TI4200 drivers

i have G4Ti4200-TD(MS-8870) card and it seems that i cant use any drivers over v30 as it causes win 2k to hang up on startup.
Is there any solutions to this, apart from being stuck with out of date drivers, until i buy a new card?
xp1800
512 pc133
win 2k (all updates)
directx 9 (8 tried also)
G4Ti4200-TD(MS-8870)
also bios on graphics card is upto date
Also any way of uninstalling DX9? coz progs that required DX8 will no longer run    X(
cheers in advance

Few methods to try...
Try the 41.07 or 41.09 drivers and also updated your mobo drivers.
Update your Win2k to service pack 3.
Do clean un-installlation first, restart com and re-install the driver again.
By the way, how much power does your PSU supply and what are the programs that requires DirectX 8.1 only at you side? Sounds intruiging to me somehow...
All the Best...  :D !!!

  • How do I remove MSI Ti4200 drivers?

    I have an MSI Ti4200 and Win98.
I installed the latest MSI video card drivers.
But now I want to remove them and install the Nvidia ones.
No matter what I do, I can't seem to remove the MSI drivers completely.
    What's the uninstall procedure?
    Thanks,
    MrMatt

    MrMatt,
After you uninstall the MSI drivers, do a search for msicpl.dll and delete it. You will find it in your Windows directory.  That will get rid of the MSI tabs.
    Take Care,

  • Driver Updating?

    Hi All
Am new to this forum so Hi to everyone.
I am having a little trouble updating my GeForce4 TI4200 drivers.  I have downloaded the latest file from the MSI site called " 4107ME.EXE ".  When I double click to install it simply unpacks the archive to the destinantion folder that I specify.  How do I actauuly at that point then install the new drivers into the system?
    Hope someone can help me.
    Cheers Hally

    Hi SPS
I use Win98se here.  I have tried live update but it reports that 98 is not supported for live updates.  All other cards I have had it was simply a case of running the exe file and it updated the current drivers.  Not with this one though it simply unpacks the archive to my chosen location and there does not appear to be an installaition programme.
    Hope you can help

  • K8T Neo crashes pc with 3d card's driver

I recently bought a pc containing a K8T Neo motherboard with an Athlon 64 3200+ cpu and 2x512mb 3200 DDR400 Ram.  It came with a standard VGA driver installed, so I went into safe mode (it has Win98 SE installed), removed the standard driver, restarted and installed the driver for my Geforce4 Ti4200.  But when I restarted my pc again, I got all sorts of problems : windows protection errors, blue screens, the pc just freezing (sometimes with all sorts of colours on the screen) or messages that there isn't enough memory available to run Windows .
I tried using both the AOpen driver and the Nvidia Detonator one (45.23), but both had the same result.  I also tried this with a Geforce2 MX card, but with no change either.  I also removed my soundcard and am using the onboard sound and networking.  I installed the latest Via 4-in-1 drivers and all Win98 SE updates I could find.
I already formatted my hard drive twice and everything installs perfectly until I try using the card's driver.
It's possible to install a Super VGA card and Super VGA 1024x768 monitor driver, but whenever I try to switch to more than 16 colors and restart, I get a message that the adapter type is incorrect or the settings don't work with my hardware, and it gets set back to 16x640x480.
Is there a BIOS setting I should change?  Or maybe there is a problem with a Via chipset combined with Nvidia cards?
And why does the system find a "PCI VGA compatible adapter" when I have an AGP card installed?
That's the third day now that I'm doing nothing but restarting and seeing error messages.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!
    (sorry for the long post)

I installed the 4-in-1 drivers, then my card's drivers, after which ... my whole C: drive became corrupt and I had to format and re-install Win98SE.
During this install I got a BSOD but Windows seemed to install correctly anyway.
I did the above step again (installing the Aopen Ti4200 drivers and software) and got a black screen after restarting and 2 cursors, blinking randomly.
Do you want me to tell you voltage values from my BIOS?
And if so, where can I find these?
I got a 350W power supply which came with my Aopen A600A case btw.
Are you suggesting my card/pc isn't receiving enough power to work at full blast?
I indeed get most of the problems resulting from too little voltages as mentioned in the link you gave me.
And if by a "sirene" they mean a constant beeping sound, then yeah it's most probably a voltage problem.
    [edit]
Here are my 350W power supply voltage settings :
    +3.3v  28A
    +5V  30A
    +12V  16A
    +5Vsb  2A
    -5V  0.3A
    -12V  0.8A
    (+3.3V & +5V = 220W Max)
And in my BIOS they fluctuate as follows :
    Vcore  1.552V
    +5V  5.168V
    +12V  11.923V
    -12V  -12.071V
    -5V  -5.077V
    Battery 3.520V
    +5V SB  4.993V

  • GF4 Ti4200 and Win98 - HELP ! serious problem with drivers !

Ok, I could successfully install the MSI GF4 Ti4200 128 in Windows 2000, no problem there, everything is working.
I then installed Win98 as a second OS, I launch the drivers setup (from MSI CD) and I reboot as wanted by the setup. The PC reboots, the Win98 screen appears and suddenly...it reboots by itself, no message, no black screen.  I tried with other driver versions from NVidia and this time, I get a freezed black screen after the Win98 screen, I must press reset.  I had to enter the safe-mode to remove the drivers and get the usual 640x480 in 16 colors.
What's going on ? I tried to change my bios parameters, disable the virus detection option, everything that could make problems ... but no success. I also tried a second Win98 installation, with DX 8.1 installed before the drivers but still the same problem.
My system is AMD XP 2100 with Asus A7V333 motherboard - 300W for power, is the problem caused by some VIA chips ? I tried with their 4-1 drivers and stuff on the CD but it really doesn't want to work.
    Please help...

after searching a bit on the forum, I found a thread where someone pointed out a problem caused by memory, greets to him.  I have 1 gb of ram and I added these lines to my system.ini :
    [vcache]
    MinFileCache=65536
    MaxFileCache=131072
    ChunkSize=2048
    NameCache=4096
    DirectoryCache=96
    ConservativeSwapFileUsage=1
Values may change with more/less memory...And now it works perfectly in Win98.

  • Lastest Drivers for Ti4200??

im just wondering... if i have i have a ti4200 8x, should i updatye the drivers to the latest 1 for Geforce, 6672?

If you have an absolute need then go to the latest 4X.XX You can try the latest but you could have problems. The only reason I would entertain upgrading is if a game specifically requests it.
But I would stear clear of the latest as they are more focused on the GF6.
    As a rule of thumb:
    GF3 3X.XX
    GF4 4X.XX
    GF5 5X.XX
    GF6 6X.XX
Here you can get them all http://ftp://download1.nvidia.com/windows

  • [GeForce4 Ti] Ti4200 TV out doesn't work properly with 78.01 Nvidia Drivers

I downloaded the new Nvidia drivers because the computer was restarting suspiciously after installing a new DVD unit and cloning to the TV. I downloaded the drivers and installed, restarted and everything was working properly. However, when I tried cloning to the TV I got this black and white scrambling terrible image. I have tried checking the plug and everything, changing from PAL to NSTC-M (and some others too) but to no avail. Changing to another resolution, color, etc will only get it worse.
    Any suggestions?
    H A R A

Then just revert back to the 71.84's and see if the problem continues. Instead of going up, go back if you still have problems. You could even try the 71.89's
I don't recommend re-installing your OS unless you've done it before. It can be a big project if you haven't taken the proper steps to prepare. I don't do that unless it's absolutely necessary, you aren't there yet...
How about you read my suggestions for posting and getting better answers at the top of this vga forum, create a signature, then come back after trying the previous drivers, and if necessary, some older ones. If you stilll have problems, then come back with some history of your PC and what you've tried.
You may want to consider using driver cleaner http://www.drivercleaner.net make sure you read and follow the instructions...

  • MSI 128mb g4 ti4200 glitches/distortion

    Hi.
I,ve had this problem for a few days now i,m sure its affective in most of my games but i'll use quake 3 as an example, ok in game I get minor glitches/stutters/distortion, they mainly happen at speed, i,ve been gathering information from various messageboards on what might be causing this irritation. But its really difficult to single out the cause.
Anyway i have try mostly everything from bios tweaks, all available settings, various detonators.
Also tryed it with nothing running in the background etc.. to no avail.. Now I know my system is capable on running it smoothly. Here's why,
I was uninstalling some detonators to try some other ones, and i accidently installed the windows xp pro display drivers, so i started up quake 3 and everything was fine, (but these drivers are basic and don't have any options, also give weak performance)
so i went back to the latest detonators (back to distortion)
(does this single out my drivers ?)
Anyway today i was told to imput r_swapinterval into quake 3 this did the job!!, but only on quake, and with a major fps drop .
I really hope hat one of you guy can take this info and pinpoint a solution that will give me max fps and performance..

  • G4 Ti4200 problem...

    Hey folks,
I just installed this mammoth of a card, and thought everything was going well.  In fact, the first time around, it went through it's paces in 3DMark2001SE and did better than my previous cards had...but I noticed that the AGP traffic wasn't enabled.
So, I grabbed the CD that came with my mobo, and installed drivers for the AGP slot so that it could take advantage of the faster AGP traffic.  Restarted my computer, tried 3DMark again, and it stalled after 2 tests forcing me to reboot.  Did this over and over and over.  Finally, I removed the AGP port drivers, figuring if I put it back it might just work again...however, it's still not working properly, and I'm not quite sure what to do.
EVERY time I run a 3D app, it'll run for a short while and then stall forcing me to manually reboot the computer.
    My specs :
    CPU - Athlon XP1700+
    Ram - 384mb
    Graphics - MSI G4 Ti4200-TD 128mb ddr
Not sure what other specs would be needed...but I thank anyone who can help me in advance for their time and help.

And here we go for weird.  It seems to work perfectly when I lower my CPU's settings from 133/133MHz in the BIOS to just 100/100MHz...which drops me from a 1.55GHz PC to a mere 1.1GHz, which seems to run a tad slower...
If this helps anyone figure out what the problem is and what the subsequent solution to my problem is, please let me know.

  • Nvidia GF4 Ti4200 Driver problems!!!

I have built up a new system with the following:
    MSI K7N2G-ILSR
    nVIDIA GF4 Ti4200 128mb DDR
    AMD XP2400+
    512MB 333 DDR
    PSU 350W
    WD 80GB Caviar (partitioned)
    Thermaltake Volcano 9 HSF
I have installed XP-PRO (+SP1). The problem I have is the drivers.  First off I install the nFORCE 2 platform drivers - Fine, then I install the VGA Driver disc 40.72's. According to the installation, all is fine.  When the system reboots, we have a no go (blank screen). I then need to go back to last known settings....yeah, yeah!
So far I have downloaded nearly all the drivers off the Nvidia site as well, using my other PC. (1MB CABLE).  Each one cause pretty much the same problem, including all the WHQL versions.
I even downloaded the Nvidia nFORCE 2 platform package, which included a VGA driver.  This still caused the same result.
My next step was to swap over with my other PC.  Once I inserted a GeForce2 64MB DDR PRO/GTS, all appears fine, the drivers install...no problem.
I insert the GF4 Ti4200 into my ECS K7S5A, and low and behold all is fine here.....drivers, no problems.
    Any idea's......anyone??????
Like compatibility problem or what..... I'm totally lost and confused now!!

No, Markone from UK, novice PC builder..... :D
    Borgstif:
"uninstall the driver in safe mode and the Reg entry in WinXp "
Explain exactly what you mean, I can choose start up in safe mode yes, but what will that do for me??
    gfilitti:
Not sure exactly what specs you want? this is my first build ever.  The PSU is a bog standard fitment inside an ATX Case, not a separate fitment.  Can you be more specific about "timing etc..."
The Ti4200 is working fine in my less advanced ECS K7S5A machine......with 300W PSU.
And likewise the Nforce 2 machine operates my Geforce 2 GTS/PRO also with no problems.

  • DVD Playback problem with H/w accel on Ti4200

    Hello folks,
I have a problem with DVD playback using WinDVD Platinum on my MSI 128Mb GF4 Ti4200 (MS-8700). When I play a DVD with hardware acceleration enabled I get a sort of ghosting or delayed flash photography effect similar to that which gives headlights trails. This doesn't occur with the Detonator 40.72 drivers
or MSI 41.07 drivers but occurs with
the NVidia 41.09s, 43.00s and now 43.45 drivers under WinXP SP1. The problem only occurs with hardware acceleration enabled and has happened with both DX8.1 and 9.0. I didn't have this problem with the 41.09s under Win2k SP3.
Does anyone else have this problem or know of a solution.
    Thanks,
    Morpheus
    System Specs:
    Athlon XP 2000+
    512MB DDR Ram
    Asus A7V333-R
    Soundblaster Audigy Player
    Realtek 8139 based NIC
    Win XP SP1
    DirectX 9.0

Sound is fine its just the picture that has the problem but I have narrowed it down further by downloading WinDVD Tweaker. If I disable DxVA but leave hardware decode and colour selected the problem isn't present. Therefore I suspect something has corrupted my DxVA   drivers however as I originally had 8.1 installed and then installed 9.0 in an attempt to fix this I don't think a reinstall of DX will solve the problem.
    Any ideas.
    Cheers,
    Morpheus

I don't recommend installing VIA chipset drivers on a SIS chipset motherboard, please refer to the ASUS website for support and documentation on your motherboard....better yet, take the system to a qualified technician because from your posts, I have come to the conclusion you do not have the experience necessary to rectify your problem.

  • Monitor not detecting connection after installing TI4200 8X

Attempting install of GForce4 TI4200-VTD8X (MS-8894). Searched through the manual and says it can support 4x agp but when I put it in the computer the monitor cannot detect a connection to computer but behind the message saying so I can make out activity while my computer boots up...the stages of the boot process are noticeable but are moving rapidly from left to right and fast enough to be not able to see. But the main factor is that it says it cant see the computer but there is residual display behind the message saying so. Since I cannot boot the computer to install drivers it must be something else perhaps in the Bios but ive verified its set to 4X AGP (which is max) especially since I was using AGP beforehand. Perhaps there is another setting I might be missing in the Bios?
    ASUS A7V 133 4X AGP
    768MB Ram
    400 watt powersupply
    KDS monitor "19"
Ah yes currect video card being used is a GForce 2 MX also agp

Cannot even see to boot to safe mode. Only thing that can be seen on the screen is the "cable plugged in?" and behind it the chaos indicating at least some activity. No readable text. Just the changes in the boot process are noticeable from the changes in the "chaos" color behind it. Text is there but its skewed severely and flys from left to right too fast to read. Swapped in prior card and works fine and while there lowered resolution to 640X480. Although the resolution shouldnt matter since the boot process and mem check all have the same behavior.
