Ti4800SE (8X) dual VGA or not?

I've purchased a ti4800SE 8X, to run with my P4 (4X) motherboard.
On the ti's box it says DUAL-VGA, but try what I like, I cannot get the seperate display working under Windows 2000.
It's OK when the machine is booting (showing BIOS info & Win2K loading screen), but when the non-standard VGA drivers kick in, display switches to on card only (the one attached to the DVI port).
Is the card actually capable of proper dual-video (ie not just cloning)?
Any help appreciated.
thanks
Pauwl

pauwll,
As long as you hook up the Monitors correctly and you use nView to extend your destop etc. You are all set.
Dual Monitors works with both the MSI and the nVidia Drivers.
Take Care,
Richard
P.S. I use the nVidia DetonatorFX Drivers from the nVidia Website.

  • G4MX440 Dual VGA and TV-out Possible?

I finally got my tv-out feature working by using the unofficial bios from MSI.  This resolved the "orange/brown" screen issue. :O
    My new issue:
I have the g4mx440 with dual vga output. (not one vga jack and one dvi with an apadpter, just two vga connectors).  I am running two analog monitors with the card and they are both working fine.  But, since i have now gained the use of my Tv-out feature, i was wandering how i would set up this card to use my TV as a third monitor.  When i goto my display settings it only shows two monitors that i can alter but if i disable one and reboot with only 1 analog connected and the tv-out it works.  I was playing with nviews settings and somehow made my tv the primary display and lost one of my analogs (kinda like all 3 wont work at the same time).  What am i doing wrong or what do i need to do.
I had accomplished this set up before with a Geforce2 Mx400, but i was using a second pci card to run my second analog monitor.
Any help would be sweet.  Thanks in advance for anything.

    Hi,
Here's some generic advice, but which might not apply to your specific hardware.
You can't get 3 *different* pictures from this type of card, only 2. It effectively has two independent channels, and one channel has the choice of *either* VGA out *or* TV out. It may even be possible to use both at once - but it will be the same picture. You might need a third party utility like TVtool to let you use VGA and TV out simultaneously, and your VGA monitor might not like the non-standard frequencies on the VGA that are a byproduct of generating TV out frequencies (especially in PAL). LCD monitors are generally worse than CRTs in this respect.
    Cheers

  • G5 dvi to vga adapter not working

DVI to VGA adapter not working with my G5 Dual 2.3 GHz Power PC. I am trying to use a VGA Monitor but can not get a signal. I also am using a Dell with a DVI Input and that works fine using a DVI Cable from my G5 to the Dell u2410.

    Bad adapter?
The G5 ports are DVI-I. Any good DVI-I to VGA adapter should be fine.

  • Dual VGA + TV out

    Hi !
    I have a FX 5700LE
I'm using the dual VGA mode for editing videos.
I'd like to use another screen (a simple TV monitor, plugged on the TV out connector of my card) to see the video only (not an extended desktop or whatever, only a video out)
Can you tell me how I can do ?
    thanx by advance !

    Hi!
You cant do that.... because one of the VGA RAMDACs are shared with the tv-out and then its impossible use both at the same time

  • Dvi to vga converter not working anywhere

Hi guys, recently my lcd screen went completely black, the macbook pro (from 2007) still turns on and still makes sounds, but the screen is completely black. i need to save important info so i used the dvi to vga adapter (not the mini one but the one i got with it in 07) and i tried it on 2 old moniters, and 2 new lcd monitors. none of them work, i am very concerned. the 2 moniters just stayed black, and the 2 lcds said "no signal, going to sleep". guys what's going on, please help me

do you still hear the chime? try the smc reset - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1411
    & the PRAM: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379
if your screen is still black, then your video card has likely failed, so you won't see a display at all.
to recover data, boot the machine holding T. once it chimes, hold it for about a minute or so. now plug the mac into another via firewire cable. if it's another intel mac, you should be able to boot from yours, restart the 2nd mac holding OPTION, select your drive when it's listed & press return. you should then be able to reover files, export contacts, bookmarks, etc. to another drive or to DVDs.

  • How do I move an entire app to a dual monitor? Not just a window?

How do I move an entire app to a dual monitor? Not just a window? I can drag single windows, but if I move a window to the second monitor and hit a button, like 'New', that opens a new window, then it opens the window in the first monitor. I want it to open in the second monitor instead.

Right. Mail remembers as well. I have the menubar set on my larger display, and the main Mail window on the MBP display. When I create a new message, it displays the composition window on whichever display I used the last time for composition. So after the first time I moved the composition window to the larger display, it always opens on that display. I can't remember if it remembers that behavior after taking the MBP on the road, where I use only its display, and then reconnect the second display back at home.

  • MSI VGA Bios Not available

I ran Sandra last night to pull up sys info. The MSI 9800GT BIO was written in the year 2000. I also know the next comment will be,> what do you think a bios does and why should it be update.
It should be updated to unlock parameters that were not taken into considerations ten years ago.
I have never seen Sandra miss read anything, it has always been on the money, and very conservative in its reply.
Where is the updated BIO for MSI Graphic accelerations?

There is no such, the BIOS is not a driver and shall be not updated when everything is working fine.
If need it, it can be provided by MSI Tech.

That VGA is not 10 years old I fail to see how VBIOS can be 10 years old in such case.

  • Dual Band or not?

How do I know which model numbers are dual band and which are not when buying a used Airport Extreme? I am looking at one identified as APPLE MB053LL/A and the seller says it is dual band but I am getting conflicting reports. Thanks,
    Rich

    Welcome, Rich.
Easy to see how things can be confusing here.
The MB053LL/A is dual band, but not a "simultaneous" dual band model. It can create a wireless network either at 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz, but not both at the same time.
The newer models are "simultaneous" dual band versions, which means that they can create both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks simultaneously. In addition, these models include a "Guest" network feature, which is also a "dual band" network if enabled.

  • Dual Ethernet will not connect if set to share Single IP address

The subject says it all. My trusty old Dual Ethernet will not connect if set to share Single IP address.
I cannot get anything but a self assigned IP address with it set to share a single IP address.
Before about Tuesday of last week I had connected to it a Mac mini, iMac, Dell Desktop, Dell Laptop, and PS3 all working fine. I think Comcast or Apple updated their system or Airport software and now the old dual Ethernet will not share a single IP address.

So far as I know, there has been no recent change in Apple's software affecting the Snow (a/k/a Dual Ethernet) base station. About 2-1/2 weeks ago, Apple distributed an update to AirPort software for Intel Macs running Tiger, but it would not have affected the base station.
Your topic implies that when the Snow is not set to share a single IP address (i.e., presumably, when "Distribute IP addresses" is unchecked in the Network pane of AirPort Admin Utility for Graphite and Snow), one of the computers is connecting to the Internet through the base station. I also imagine that the self assigned IP address you mention is the IP address of that computer, rather than of the base station, and that that computer obtains an IP address from Comcast when the Snow is not distributing IP addresses.
Assuming that that computer is connecting wirelessly, then whatever settings that computer is using for TCP/IP and PPPoE in the AirPort part of System Preferences, while the computer connects to the Internet, should be the ones used for the base station, in the Internet pane of AirPort Admin Utility for Graphite and Snow. (Most likely, it is simply "Using DHCP.") The IP address obtained from Comcast should be received by the base station, when it is set to distribute IP addresses in the Network pane, and the IP address should show up in the Internet pane. (When the Snow is distributing IP addresses, it has two IP addresses itself, a WAN IP address obtained from Comcast and a LAN IP address, 10.0.1.1, visible only to devices in your network.)
Even when the settings are correct, the Snow might not be able to obtain an IP address if your cable modem remembers the computer, which had been receiving the IP address previously. You'll probably need to shut down the computers and unplug power to the base station and cable modem. After waiting 5 minutes, restore power to the modem, then after another 5 minutes, restore power to the base station, then after another 5 minutes, start up a computer.

  • Dual Vga output w/G4 Ti4200?

I just bought a G4 Ti4200, and it has the VGA out and the DVIout with the converter and the box says DUAL VGA SUPPORT so i know it's possible with this card.
I went on the nVidia website and found in some online manual to check this option "treat other displays as separate outputs" or something in the Desktop Utilities tab in the additional GeForce 4 Ti4200 properties...etc.
Anyway, that whole option isn't there.  There's just the "Display quicktweak" and "Enable Desktop Manager" boxes there.  So, i'm a bit confused, and I just want to get separate displays going. Also if anyone knows how to do i anyother way, that'd be great.  Cloneview does work, it's just getting windows to have a second display.
    Thanks

Thanks, Bela, for your reply.  What you're saying makes sense, but i'm insure of the order and timing that you mean.
    1. Should any clone view stuff be turned on?
    2. Is the main monitor plugged into the DVI-out jack and the secondary in the VGA?
    3. I understand to have a monitor in the DVI jack when booting but when do i plug in the second monitor? before or after windows boots?
Thanks for your help once again

  • Z97 Gaming 5, Dual Channel RAM not working?

    Here are my specs for the moment , Windows 7, Intel Core i7 4770k, 8,00GB Single-Channel DDR3 @ 666MHz (9-9-9-24), Nvidia GeForce GTX 780 (EVGA)
As the title says dual RAM is not working, when I put all 4 RAM sticks in their slots or even just two in dual channel mode my monitor will not respond and the screen is just black, can't even go to BIOs.
The BIOs settings are at 1333 MHz and 1.5 v, I've tried raising the volt and lowering it, anyone have any ideas?
I've tried the 1-3 and 2-4 slots with two 4gb sticks and it does not work, but the 1-2 and 2-4 works fine, have also tried all the individual sticks so none of them are faulty.

Please clarify. You mean a single stick works in 2 or 4 but not 2 and 4 together? So that means DIMM slot #3 is the only one that doesn't work at all? My suspicion is a grounding or short under the mainboard by an errant standoff, or the DIMM slot has some debris in it, or the slot is just plain faulty. Other possible is a pin problem in the CPU socket.

  • Elitebook 810 - Displayport to VGA adaptor not connecting dual monitor

I bought a displayport to VGA adaptor (Insignia) for connecting Elitebook 810 to my old HP monitor. When I connect the monitor 'goes to sleep' and won't display. Received msg I can't recreate about not recognizing the hardware and to use HP hardware. Any fixes? Thanks!

    Displayport is a digital signal.
    VGA is an analog signal.
This will never work. Your solution is to either get the ultraslim dock that comes with VGA or get a monitor that has displayport OR HDMI.  Then you can buy the DP to HDMI (because both are digital signals). DP and HDMI carry the audio signal so you can hear audio from the monitor (if it has speakers).
