TIF not printed in the PDF

Hi,
We are developing a report using TIF files to represent the structure of the report, because we find it quick and easy this method for a particular report that we are developing.
We include the link to the folder where the TIFs are placed in the first page and the data structure in the second. In the test presentment this works fine and we see the report perfectly. After this we move to the Unix server where the reports are published and run in batch mode, there we do not see the TIF file image inside the report.
The !format event pointing to the TIFs is: \defineresolveGLOBAL:TEMPLATE,"@LOGO_PATH.@_$_..tif" (LOGO_PATH is an environment variable).
Background of our system:
+ We have the server installed in HP-Unix.
+ In the data file we call each TIF file.
+ The data is contained in a text file, which join with the .MDF by a Unix job
We use Adobe Output Designer Version 5.5.0.317
Any help, suggestion or alternative on how to do this will be much appreciated.

Hi Tom,
No, the TIF I'm using are simply created by "printing to file" from MS Excel. An in my PC when I run it from the editor I can see it OK.
The problem is with the compiled file.

You can use printPages(1, 5), however I need to know how you print current page.

Brother laser printer not printing Acrobat 8 PDFs

My beloved Brother HL 5250DN laser printer was not printing Acrobat 8 PDFs, and since installing CS4 it won't print PDFs OR InDesign files. Help!
The PDF printing problem started suddenly about 6 months ago. Now, as I mentioned, it won't print from Acrobat 9 or InDesign CS4. This is greatly compromising my graphic design job search, as the Brother is my little workhorse! What could this conflict be? Why does it seem to be getting progressively worse? Thanks for your help, all!

If you haven't thrown away the DMG file yet. You deleted using wrong application.
Use Printer Utility.
open Printer Utility and remove the instance of your printer.
Remove from list.
now open the Printer Driver File you download. look and see if there is an Uninstall. If so, run it. On HP Drivers if you hold down Control or option key it will change from installer to uninstaller.
Now this time Install driver let it install everything.
Now open Printer Utility and have it to locate Printers. Your Printer should pop up in list. Now choose and make it the default Printer for system.
Now open Acrobat, (if you have Acrobat 9, hope and pray, you don't have the no show printer in page setup) in setup choose desired printer the choose type paper, (8.5X11 letter) then choose orientation Portriat.
Now click on Page atributes, and click on Save as default. This set the default setup Acrobat will go to when first opened.
Now open a PDF and Try.
Repeat with inDesign, note: Using your printer, only prints already created PDF's does not create Pdf's.

My new Officejet Pro 8500a on a Windows XP machine will not print from the Internet.

I just purchased and installed an Officejet Pro 8500a all-in-one and everything seems to work fine except that the maachine will not print from the internet. I use Windows XP home and and the Firefox browser. The printer is connected directly to the computer, and is not directly connected to the Internet or any other network.

The Officejet 8500 printers take individual ink cartridges (IIC); that machine requires that all cartridges be installed to ensure that the printhead does not get damaged. Ink is used in the printer not just for printing, but maintain the printer and the printhead. One can reduce the amount of color ink the printer uses by changing the printer settings to Grayscale or use black ink only. Page 34 of the user manual shows how one can change those settings when printing documents. For further information on how ink is used in the printer; one can look as this page here where it goes into detail on the different ways that ink is used in the printer.
I would just replace the color cartridge that the printer indicates needs replacing when the machine alerts you to low ink. I would not replace all colors at once when only one is in need of replacing.

I can't print from firefox. The paper feeds throught the printer but does not print. The same web pages will print when I use internet explorer. And the printer works fine with word, excell etc, just not with firefox.

Whenever I try to print any page opened in firefox it will not print. The paper feeds through the computer, but does not pring.

When you saye a you have set all the parameters, does that include the cell size in the print module? Are you printing on 5 x 7 paper? And, if you are, have you set that paper size in the page setup?

Possible to take notes direct in the pdf (with pen)

i use this program in my work, as i am building a electrial cabinets
but i miss the function of taking notes directly in the pdf, and being able to "check" (make a mark) with my touch pen where i am and what i have done.
but this program is not able to take notes like that it seems?
i use adobe reader in an android tablet also, and the funktions in that program are excellent. i want those funktions in my windows tablet
is it possible?

Assuming that you are running Windows 8/8.1/RT/RT 8.1, Microsoft Reader is already preinstalled on your system.
Here's how to find Microsoft Reader and launch it.
1. Open the Search Charm.
Touch: Swipe in from the right edge of the screen and tap the Search button.
Mouse: Point to the upper-right or the lower-right corner of the screen and click the Search button.
Keyboard: Press the Windows key + S.
2. Enter "Reader".
3. Select Reader (with the white logo on the orange background).

This can be the result of selecting the wrong driver. An older, unsupported laser printer will sometimes work with the generic Postscript driver.

C4780 does not print off the internet

Since I upgraded to Windows 7 (64 bit HP laptop), the printer will not print off the internet. All other printing jobs work fine. I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times to no avail. I have also downloaded and installed the latest patch for computers that have upgraded to Windows 7. I have spent several hours with HP support both on the phone and online and they have been unable to solve this problem. Does anyone know what to do to fix this?

what are you trying to print i.e.. are you printing from your PC or are you trying to print using the ePrint service (print apps direct from the front panel or sending an email to your printers email address)

Export to PDF is not printing all the columns in one single page.

I have a report, I am exporting the report to PDF, but ALL the columns are not printing in a single page, It is getting printed 2 or more pages.
I am okay if I have a horizontal scroll bar or if the test size is reduced. Please see the recording and let me know whether it is possible.

So it is defenitely possible to make ALL the columns appear in the same page in PDF regardless of how much width the report occupies?
If yes, can I see a horizontal scroll bar or the text will be shrinked to fit the page?

PDF not printing all the iamges or backgrounds

I have a PDF document that has some various images and things on it. Certain things are not printing for some reason.
The specific information is I have a sheet of Guitar information. On one page there's an example of a chord block. The numbers showing what finger to put where shows fine but the actual gridlines that make up the strings and frets do not work.
An example is this:

The numbers in circles show up but the actual lines do not.
On other parts, whole examples of sheet music with bars and notes and everything just don't print. They show up fine in the little preview window but not on the actual page.
I found that if I set the "Print as Image" box, then it does print but it then takes 45+ seconds to process each page before it actually prinst which is not something I want to wait for.
I'm not sure if these are setup as images or backgrounds or what in the actual PDF as I didn't create it. Is there a setting to print backgrounds and things if that's what it is or is there any other setting anyone can think of other than the Print as Image option?

What I found is that if I print to my main printer (HP 4300), the gridlines of the pictures in the middle of the page don't show up.
If I print to the Xerox 6360DT that I have, the picture shows up fine.
There must be a setting in the HP properties that's making it not work but I haven't been able to figur out what the setting is.
