Tiger Dictionary - Available in French or German??

Just wondering if the dictionary in TIGER is available in other languages. I have it in English-- but would like French and German, too.

Sharepoint 2013: Problem / Error when creating Variation Hierarchy for French and German Languages from Variation root EN

Hi,
I have a website with English and Arabic Language Packs installed. I have the corresponding Variation heirachies created and the whole site collection is published.
Recently the client asked for french and german languages to be accomodated as well. So I followed the same approach I did for English and arabic (installed the language packs) for foundation, ran ocnfiguration wizard, installed server language pack &
ran configuration wizard.
But after creating the variation label, when i try to create the variation heirarchy, I am getting the following error.
"Unknown failure when creating a variation of page http://server:port/en/pages/default.aspx in label /fr/Pages/default.aspx.
The Variations Create Hierarchies job failed with the following error message& Unknown failure when creating a variation of site
http://server:port/en in label fr."
Am not sure what is going wrong. Appreciate a feedback.

Hi,
According to your description, my understanding is that the error occurred when you created the Variation Hierarchy for French and German Languages from Variation root EN.
I recommend to check the Resources folder located at C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\Web Server Extensions\15 to see if the file core.fr-FR.resx exists in the folder.

Has anyone run into trouble data merging foreign languages i.e. French and German?

I am using Indesign to data merge several hang tags that will need to be translated into French and German. I have the translations into the spreadsheet, however, it stops populating when getting to French and German. I noticed that both languages have accents on the letters. Could my CSV not be formatted correctly? I just saved the excel document as a normal CSV with all of the languages on the file (on a Mac).
Please help!

Thank you for helping with the questions. It seems there are two points to this puzzle.
I saved the utf-8 and tab delimited file and then it came out jumbled like in the photo. It seems the accents have translated into symbols unrecognizable. I'm unsure if my file is working correctly but came out like this below:
And assuming that I made the excel file correctly with removed line breaks/hard returns, I'm also unsure how column headings could be named improperly. It seems they are named exactly how they are tagged. Here is another photo of the tags and the excel headers.
I'm new to data merging in a different languages but am hopeful that this process can be finessed so that it's not manually entered for the 50 iterations. Your help is greatly appreciated

Hello.
First of all: Not all programs support the two methods I describe below.
Method 1:
If you have a french keyboard you may simply use this. Unfortunately some programs do not support the Alt-GR key.
Method 2:
Using the "Compose" key (If you have a non-Sun keyboard: Ctrl+Alt+F1). Example: Press "Compose" (and release it), then type two characters (example: "A" (= Shift-a) and " " " (= Shift-2)). You'll get a combined character (in the example: "�"). There is a list of combinations and results from Sun. Not all programs support this method.

Hi,
You can maintain the translations for the messages using the transaction SE91.You can create the messages using English language 'EN' and maintain the translation in other languages.
Using the menu path GOTO -> Translation, you can specify the translations for any language by selecting the desired language from the drop down list.

No dictionary available while writing in pages app on iPad?

I've recently begun to use pages on my iPad to do a lot of work. But I've noticed that when writing within the app I cannot access the dictionary to define a word. There is not even an option to 'define' a highlighted word as there is when typing anywhere else outside the app.
Is this the same for everyone or is something wrong?
I can't see any reason why it would not be available in the app most likely to need it.
Any help or suggestion would be great.

Is their a Mandarin dictionary available in ibooks?

I like to check on words as i read, including words in Mandarin. But no Mandarin dictionary is available.

The iBooks dictionary only has English and Japanese, and there is no way to add others. To ask Apple for more, use the feedback channel:

Canadian Email Support only available in French?

When you're on the english site (as shown here http://www.nokia.com/ca-en/support/contact/ ) you get redirected to french when you try to email support. The chat online feature seems to be down and there's no phone number. I can't get support for my recently replaced 920 which is going "clunk clunk" inside when it's rotated like the components are just hanging around loose!

I would suggest you fill it in from the drop down menu. On the first one select " plainte" on the second one select"appareils"
Then start off"Pardonnez-moi ,j'habite en [insert where you live] mais je ne parle pas Francais. Then set out what the problem is in English and ask them to reply in English. Merci.

Can't install from cs6 cd on windows 7 64bit

-Can't install from cs6 cd-I have a serial number -I've tried the forums I've even tried phone support which no longer exists for cs6,got the correct specs of pc win7 64bit 8gb ram etc.I worked before.
-I uninstalled cs6 production premium for student/teachers as after effects wasn't burning,writing,making image or dvd folders.
-This forum said uninstall everything and run cleaner. I did now when I part in cs6 first gives "restart needed before install" done it twice then ignored, then the install go to selection of software,click next and error 15 comes up tried all again then said installation can't complete contact forum and back to the beginning.
-Then tried downloading creative crowd while I was signed in on my adobe account, download completed but didnt want to install
-Then went to adobe application manager downloaded, aswell didn't want to install.
WHAT IS HAPPENING? to simplestaright for support.

Can anyone tell me how to find or get cs6 installed??via download link, new cd something?

If you have tried everything else suggested THEN:
Adobe forum: uninstall and re-install. ONE slight problem not mentioned any uninstalling or format of PC or adobe software.YOU MUST DEACTIVATE the product first.
1. Deactivate and un-install all cs6
2. Download and use the adobe cleaner Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6 Point 3 and choose OS-Run it .
3.Clean all
4.Run disk and system file clean up.Restart PC.
5.Let system clean run. Once logged in. Run CC cleaner again. BUT NOW select clean adobe credentials.
6.Restart again.
7.Insert your CS6 production premium disc and TADA! It worked for me.
If this doesn't work go to adobe,sign in,choose a certain product premiere,after effects etc, choose installing or activation, and click contact us. There should be an option of CHAT to us not just the search forum.
Explain that you can't install from disc and ask to see your license and serial number if it can be deactivated and then try activate again.
Not the most elegant but efficient for me. I spent 2 days on this searching,phoning, chatting, restarting

Can't install from net-install usb image with ppp on eee

Hi forum,
l downloaded the latest net-install image for usb, set that up and booted into my 900a EEE and ran /arch/setup. I skipped the network part and setup ppp with a usb-serial cable and ran pon <isp> to connect. Selected the mirror and so on until I clicked on Select Package. "Pacman prep failed" it said, look at tty7. There it said "failed retrieving file core.db.gz from <mirror>"..."transient resolver failure". So I clicked OK, and it put me in a window where it said "Package selection is split into two stages etc" OK. Now I was put in a window where it said "Select Package Group DO NOT DESELECT" and there was this "[*] base ^", selected. I did not deselect. OK. Here I was dropped to the prompt with the message
ERROR: ask_checklist makes sense if you specify 1 thing (tag, item and ON/OFF switch)
I've gone through the process several times, choosing 4 different mirrors, and deselecting that thing that said, DO NOT DESELECT with the same outcome.
Can someone please help? Is there perhaps a min speed at which net-install won't work? I'm way down there at ~3 kb/s.

Dictionary in Mail - how to have French & German, too

I have the multi-language spellcheck with Mail - but the dictionary is just English. So, of course, is my Dictionary program with 10.5.8 Leopard, US edition. But how to get the French and German dictionaires as well? And how to link them to Mail?

I don't understand what you are saying. Having multi-language spellcheck means you have spellcheck dictionaries in multiple languages.

This I can help you with. There are a number of French and German dictionaries. Here is one example. If you want free dictionaries or dictionaries integrated with Dictionary.app, it will be harder. I created a free Dictionary.app version of the Le Dictionnaire de l'Académie Française. If anyone knows of a good, free German dictionary I could convert, I would appreciate it.
And how to link them to Mail?
If you use some 3rd party software, you're on your own. Hopefully they have something.
If you use Dictionary.app, you can right (Control) click on a word or select a word and press Ctrl ⌘ D

Do you mean a dictionary for spelling? Or a dictionary for looking up words?
The Mac has included a French spelling dictionary for many years. Just go to Edit > Spelling and Grammar and set your language to be French.
If you are looking for a French equivalent of the New Oxford dictionary in Dictionary.app, then there is nothng comparable. I put together a French dictionary using the 1935 Dictionnaire de l'Académie Française. You can download it from: http://etresoft.com/etreref
Unfortunately, no commerical dictionary publisher with a modern corpus has published anything for Dictionary.app.

French & German on Nano

My original iTunes files show up with the French or German along with accent marks. But, the non-English is getting scrambled in the transfer to both my Nano and Classic. Some times it's only the accent marks that don't move over and other times the entire word is missing.
How do I get the other language to show correctly? Been digging into past posts, but can't find anything that applies.

Hi gurus...Problems with french, german, swedish, italian characters

My configuration is SunOS 5.7(Generic October 1998),WLS 6.0(sp1).
If someone put a french or german or etc. character in an input of my page (simply
