Tiger Intel ARD 3.2 connecting to Leopard  Not working Setup Help?

Hi,
I have a Macpro running 10.4.11 and ARD 3.2 trying to connect to a Leopard macbook. ARD doesn't see the machine online with a 192 IP(Cnfirmed correct), DNS is unknown, the user name and password are correct. The Remote service on the Macbook is turned on with all the check boxes on for services within that.
Is there a apple doc on setting up this CONFIG? Or Any step by step for this config someone can share?
Thanks,
Paul

There will have to be a switch or hub there somewhere for you to have more than one computer connected to the Internet connection. Are both computers connected via a wire that is plugged into something, or is the MacBook (or both systems) connecting via a wireless network?
And just for clarity's sake, DSL and cable modem are two different technologies. If the computers you're trying to link are both in the same place, the type of Internet connection won't really matter, but if you have questions in the future, it may be important to know specifically what the Internet connection really is.
Regards.

  • Iphone 4s both the 3g and wifi appear to be connected yet do not work! Help please?

I've had my iphone 4s for a while, and although I updated to the latest iOS 6.1.3 (I believe?) I've not had any problems with it. However, two days ago I lost the ability to connect to my wifi at home (strangely I can still connect to the wifi at my college) (I've checked the wifi with various other devices and there isn't a problem there) and then today my 3g stopped working entirely too!
I performed a full restore earlier which solved nothing, only now I've lost all of my apps due to the restore and I can't redownload them because I haven't got wifi or 3gs!
If anyone has a similar problem PLEASE help me. I'm really desperate to get my phone sorted as I'm going on holiday soon and I've got my boarding pass on my phone!!!

Have you tried resetting the router at your house?

  • Safari in Leopard NOT WORKING PLEASE HELP

I just installed Leopard on my iBook G4 and for some reason I cannot get safari to work at all. When I try to open safari I get a notification saying it unexpectedly quit before the GUI even loads. I tried to reinstall the Safari 3 beta and when I try to do that I get to the screen where you "choose destination" and my hard drive has the red exclamation point and a little message saying "You cannot install Safari 3 Beta on this volume. This volume does not meet the requirements for this update." Meanwhile my hard drive has over 20 gb of space and anything else I should need. UGH please help.

  • I have bought  three iPhone 6  one for me and one each for my two kids  we have just done the update iOS 8.01 now all phone  do not connect to service provider and touch id is not working ,  APPLE HELP !!!!

i phones  updated iso 8.01 all three phones  will not connect to service provider and touch id
will not work  APPLE HELP !!!!!!!!!
anyone know  i fix as  i have spent over 2000 pound on three phones that won't work
all three where working fine until the 8.01 update

Apple just pulled the update because it is a major fubar! You will have to rollback your iPhone to the base iOS 8 using iTunes and Apple needs to seriously test its patches!
    Update:
Simply connect your phone to iTunes and back up your data. Then, click the “Restore iPhone” button and follow the on-screen instructions. It’s a huge pain, but at least it’s better than having your shiny new iPhone turned into a big expensive iPod touch.

  • TS1398 I have an iPad 2 that is updated and using 6.0.1. It is connecting to my wifi just fine. I just purchased a 4th generation iPad. It shows it is connected to the same wifi, same strong signal, but it will not work. HELP!!!

I have an iPad 2 that is updated and using 6.0.1. It is connecting to my wifi just fine. I just purchased a 4th generation iPad. It shows it is connected to the same wifi, same strong signal, but it will not work. HELP!!!

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

I'm trying to reset my iPhone 4S but I have no internet as my wifi has broken and I have no data left, I have tried connecting to a computer which did not work any help would be grateful thanks

A reset has nothing to do with Internet access or data access.
A reset is simply pressing and holding the home and power buttons until the white Apple logo appears.
What are you really trying to do?

  • IPhone 4s bluetooth connects but does not work handsfree

Why my apps are not transferring from PC to iPhone 5? When I connected to PC the icon shows when I select apps it show 'will install' but it never show on iPhone, I re installed iTunes, deleted all apps and downloaded again but its not working pls help.

Next time an app update gets stuck try a reset. Press and hold both the home and power buttons for10-15 seconds till the Apple logo appears. Then release both buttons. Wait till your iPad starts on it's own. Try now. Also YouTube is still available. If you can't find it the the app store go to the bottom of the app store page and tap purchased. All your deleted apps will be listed and you can reinstall YouTube from there.

  • Tiger to Leopard transition- user name and password not working. plz help!

Hi all. Last year I purchased a MacBook Pro with Tiger OSX. Anyways I wanted to switch to leopard, so I did. Now when I want to install updates, as usual it requires my user name and password. But after I installed leopard, my old user name and password does not work (my login name does not even show up in the box anymore). I can not install any new software on my computer because of this so called "new password." Any assistance would be greatly appreciated because this is very frustrating since I just purchased an iPhone and I can't sync it because I need the new version of itunes.

can you log in at all as another user? if not activate root and log in as root using [these instructions|http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1278]. then look in the /Users folder at the top level of the hard drive. do you see the home directory with your old username there? post back with what you find.

  • Mac OS X Leopard not working (grey screen with question mark appearing)

Hello. I have a Desktop Mac Running on Leopard (not Snow Leopard) and it gives me the grey screen with a question mark. It has been doing this for a month now, and i had to restart it holding the C key every time, and now it has stopped working. I am using a Logitech mouse and keyboard, and had a disk inserted so i cant insert the installation disk. What should i do?

You will have to reinstall OS X. Connect the original keyboard and mouse. Restart the computer and hold down the mouse button immediately after the chime. This should force the optical drive to eject the disc. Otherwise see the following:
Five ways to eject a stuck CD or DVD from the optical drive
Ejecting the stuck disc can usually be done in one of the following ways:
    1. Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the left mouse button until the disc ejects.
    2. Press the Eject button on your keyboard.
    3. Click on the Eject button in the menubar.
    4. Press COMMAND-E.
    5. If none of the above work try this:
Open the Terminal application in your Utilities folder. At the prompt enter or paste the following:
    /usr/bin/drutil eject.
If this fails then try this:
Boot the computer into single-user mode. At the prompt enter the same command as used above. To restart the computer enter "reboot" at the prompt without quotes.
Once the disc has been removed you can try to do the following:
How to Perform an Archive and Install
An Archive and Install will NOT erase your hard drive, but you must have sufficient free space for a second OS X installation which could be from 3-9 GBs depending upon the version of OS X and selected installation options. The free space requirement is over and above normal free space requirements which should be at least 6-10 GBs. Read all the linked references carefully before proceeding.
    1. Be sure to use Disk Utility first to repair the disk before performing the Archive and Install.
Repairing the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported, then quit DU and return to the installer.
    2. Do not proceed with an Archive and Install if DU reports errors it cannot fix. In that case use Disk Warrior and/or TechTool Pro to repair the hard drive. If neither can repair the drive, then you will have to erase the drive and reinstall from scratch.
    3. Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When you reach the screen to select a destination drive click once on the destination drive then click on the Option button. Select the Archive and Install option. You have an option to preserve users and network preferences. Only select this option if you are sure you have no corrupted files in your user accounts. Otherwise leave this option unchecked. Click on the OK button and continue with the OS X Installation.
    4. Upon completion of the Archive and Install you will have a Previous System Folder in the root directory. You should retain the PSF until you are sure you do not need to manually transfer any items from the PSF to your newly installed system.
    5. After moving any items you want to keep from the PSF you should delete it. You can back it up if you prefer, but you must delete it from the hard drive.

I have a macbok pro running 10.7.5. My internet has always worked on it but I decided to try changing my router set up - the set up didn't work so I reverted back to the original setup that had previously worked.
Now, I have an Imac running tiger - I can connect to the internet via WIFI or Built In Ethernet with no problem.
When I try to connect to the internet on the Macbook Pro running osx 10.7.5 my internet will not work
Safari Says (You are not connected to the internet) and Google Chrome says (Page is Unavailbe) and lists some trouble shooting options that I tried.
When I go to System prefrences > Network my WIFI and Ethernet both say "Connected" and have a green light next to them.
I have tryed deleting the connections and starting new ones and I have even tried deleting the Location and starting a new one.
Nothing works - no matter what I do, even know the WIFI or ETHERNET says Connected, the internet will not work on the Macbook Pro.
The Internet works fine on my Imac and I have tried everything such as swaping cables but there doesn't seem to be a problem with my internet
or with my router - it all works fine with my Imac running Tiger.
Can anyone help me get my internet working on my Macbook Pro again? Any ideas?

    Hello ASGR.SYS amd WahWar,
I tried both of your suggestions and neither of them worked.
ASGR SYS - When I tried it your way i got a message saying that the that the diagnostic couldn't repair the problem. It shows the thw WIFI, WIFI SETTINGS, NETWORK SETTINGS, ISP, all turn green. But the Internet and Sever stay red. The thing is, there is nothing wrong with my internet connection as I can connect to the internet on my Imac running tiger, both through ethernet and wireless. When I go to System Prefrences and Ntwork the WIFI and ETHERNET both say "Connected" even know I can't veiw any websites.suggestion
When I tried WAHWAR's suggestion I get a message that says cannot connect to the WIFI network and then it lists your typical trouble shooting tips. Like Make sure you entered the right password and make sure you are in range of the wireless network
Again, just to confoirm - My internet connection is working fne both the WIFI and the Ethernet. When I use it on my IMAC running tiger, everything connects as it should and it works perfectly. But when I try to connect with the MacBook Pro, Even know the connections in the Network settings window show up as "connected" the MacBook still seems to think that my internet connection isn't working at all.
I have tried creating new connections, creating new locations, and I have even gone as far to reset my router and start completely from scratch. The result so far has been the same - the IMAC running tiger will connect - my blackberry and iphone will connect - but the macbook pro running lion will not connect..
    I'd apprechiate any other suggestions
