Tiger suddenly can't connect to int. Net Setup, Syst Prefs keep timing out

I'm starting this new topic because sem to be having a variation on the wireless connection problems so many here have been experiencing.
Tiger 10.4.10
Powerbook G4
Verizon fios wireless router
Other 2 computers in house connect no problem - PC's
Lost connection for no apparent reason 2 nights ago
Airport connection shows that it is connected
Network Preferences won't respond: 'beachballs" and I have to force quit
Ditto System preferences.
Can't select Diagnostics.
Assist Me freezes up.
Can't verify or repair disk : Won't accept my name or password
Tried plugging Ethernet right into the router but no dice.
At least I was able to run Diagnostics that way. Still, I got message that I was connected to internet properly.
Can't find my Install disk
I'm going to the genius bar in a while to try to get Tiger re-installed but seeing all of these similar problems made me suspicious.
Has the Leopard launch messed everything up, even for we non-Leopard folks?

After installing or whenever you need it, reboot holding down CMD+s, then when the prompt shows, type in...
applejack AUTO
Then let it do all 5 of it's things.
At least it'll eliminate some questions if it doesn't fix it.
The 5 things it does are...
Correct any Disk problems.
Repair Permissions.
Clear out Cache Files.
Repair/check several plist files.
Dump the VM files for a fresh start.
PS. I don't think Leopard has as much to do with our problems as the switch to Intel, iPods, iTV, and the iPhone do.

Ive posted before but still finding nothing to help me after the leopard install . Everytime i start mac up its says choose from network list, my netgear is there then i click it it asks me to enter password or wepkey which i do but everytime i do it says connection timeout .So go to network preferences and have to go thru the diagnotstics to get a connection when i enter wepkey there its fine and im online till the next time i start up and it back to choosing network again ......Like alot of people i never had this issue before leopard, it would have a connection as soon as i would start up no choosing from a list or having to do the diagnostic

Hi, I thought it was me.....I'm having the same problem with BT.HomeHub. and their BTYahoo mail, and BT are useless at solving the problem. I've Bookmarked both the BTYahoo Home Page, and the Mail Pages separately. The home page opens everytime, but the mail page is hit and miss with the it coming up Timed Out.
I have a question for you or anyone else out there: I've just bought my MacBook 2.2ghz -120.00GB Hard Drive. But when I look at the volume, I have HD Capacity of: 111.47GB
Available: 93.35GB
Used: 18.12GB on disk
Where's: 8.53GB gone
Am I being really dumb? I paid for 120.00GB, I know space is taken up by the Software applications.
So why have I only got 111.47GB capacity?

Laserjet 1505 connected to AEB 802.11n via USB keeps timing out after print

I have a HP Laserjet 1505 connected on my AEB 802.11n via USB and shared on my network, on my network are two macs connected via wifi and 3 WinXP PC connected via wire. I have Bonjour and WinXP laserjet drivers installed on all Win PC. Everytime I print from any of the computers, it will print the first time, but when I try printing again from any of the machines, the macs and winxp pc's cannot detect the printer. When I go to airport utility, the printer cannot be detected anymore. I have to hard reset the AEB for it to detect the laserjet printer again. But the same thing happens again after I print out another document. Has anybody encountered this kind of problem. Can anyone help me resolve this?

Here is what I got from HP support :
The driver for the Laserjet P1006 is not available yet for Os 10.5...we are hoping it will be release in the next week or so...please click on the link below to sign up for an email update as soon as it is available..As a workaround, some people have been able to use the 10.4 driver from the cd, but this is not guaranteed to work in all applications therefore the only solution is to wait and install the 10.5 driver.

Suddenly can't connect to windows server

I suddenly can't connect to the windows server. The username and password is correct, but it says "Connection Failed: Unknown user, incorrect password, or login is disabled. Please retype the name and password or contact the server's administrator." It pings the server as well. My internet and email works fine. The IT guys can't figure it out either, but they are not mac gurus. Connecting via smb comes back with "Could not connect to the server because the name or password is not correct" before I even enter login information, if that is helpful information. I also tried connecting through the server alias under the network and its the connetion failed as going through Connnect to Server and entering it as AFP://ipaddress.
Can it be from the 10.4.11 update? It was fine before the update I believe - but I can't recall for sure. I'm a lone mac user in a very pc company, so any mac expert advice would be helpful.
Is just strange since I have no problems connecting to our work email via GroupWise.

Connecting via smb comes back with "Could not connect to the server because the name or password is not correct" before I even enter login information, if that is helpful information.
Yes for any previous connection, Macs will send what's in Keychain Access, even if it's wrong, before you get asked... delete that reference in Keychain Access.

Suddenly can't connect to music store

i suddenly can't connect to the music store. When I try to connect to the music store I get:
iTunes could not connect to the Music Store. The network connection was reset. Make sure your network connectionis active and try again.
I also haven't been able to connect to ichat. My internet is working. I can view websites and everything. I don't know what's going on or why. It's been going on for a couple days. I'd be grateful for any help!

after installed oracle9i, I can use sqlplus, but when I try to use sql navigator, I can't connect to sql*net.

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
    •    Launch Settings app
    •    Tap on Wi-Fi
    •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried, until the problem is resolved. Some of these steps are only possible if you have control over the wireless router.
Step 1
Turn Wi-Fi off and back on.
Step 2
Restart the router and the computer. Many problems are solved that way.
Step 3
Change the name of the wireless network, if applicable, to eliminate any characters other than letters and digits. You do that on your router via its web page, if it's not an Apple device, or via AirPort Utility, if it is an Apple device.
Step 4
Run the Network Diagnostics assistant.
Step 5
In OS X 10.8.4 or later, run Wireless Diagnostics and fix the issues listed in the Summary, if any.
Step 6
Back up all data before proceeding.
Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
Enter the name of your wireless network in the search box. You should have one or more "AirPort network password" items with that name. Make a note of the name and password, then delete all the items. Quit Keychain Access. Turn Wi-Fi off and then back on. Reconnect to the network.

Reset the System Management Controller (SMC).

Can anyone help me!!! i have an i pod touch and the 4 digit passcode has been forgotten. i have tried a number of times to restore the factory settings on i tunes and have put the i pod into recovery mode, but attempts keep timing out

my son has forgotten his 4 digit pass code for hios i pod touch. i have been instructed to disable it and connect to i tunes to restore factory settings. when I do this the download time is anything up to 20 hours and it keeps timing out. it is now saying that i tunes cannot connect to the i pod because it is locked with a passcode and saying that i must enter the passcode - can anyone help?
