Tiger "Welcome" video: how has it been made?

Hi all!
I was wondering what software has Apple used to produce the Welcome video, played the first time you start Tiger?
Can Motion 2 do this?

Motion would have a little hard time doing this... with the 3d nature of the video. I'd say it was done in AfterEffects if I had to guess.

You can tap the word to hear it. It's clearly a widget right? But it doesn't behave like a normal html widget - it's full screen right from the start and doesn't have the x in the corner

Restrict TECO if Usage decesion has not been made

Hi All,
I have a requirement. Can I restrict system status TECO for an Order for which Usage decision has not been made just only by SPRO settings ?
I do not want to use User exit.
Also, I do not need automatic TECO status set at the time of UD which I see in majority of threads.

Hope you can achieve this with the help of assignment of User Status in Order type.
Go to OIBS transaction there we can give status profile to the order.
you can give 2 statuses by using TECO allowed or NOT ALLOWED you can control the status change.
In transaction OIOG you can assign this status profile to Order.
if it is not full fill then you have to for the enhancement.

My mac book has been a total disappointment. How has yours been?

First screen cracked now it will not load looks if the hard drive has been wiped. it cannot find it and apple replaced the charger because it would not charge
I am going to have to pay a lot of money to have it repaired and it is only 18 months old

I have had the crack for about a month and it only stopped working last night.
That doesn't rule out hardware problems. I dropped a MBP, and it continued working normally for about a month, then just suddenly died with a bad logic board. Physcially damaged electronics can fail later, as cycles of heating and cooling in the course of everyday use cause cycles of expansion and contraction (in metal especially), which stresses damaged components and eventually breaks delicate connections.
You say that "it cannot find [the hard drive]." If the hard drive simply doesn't show up in something like Disk Utility, that's a hardware issue. Either the connection has been broken or the drive itself has died. You also say that the magsafe connector won't charge it, which again is an indication of hardware issues. (You could try resetting the SMC, though with the other problems, I wouldn't have any confidence that that would help.)
To my knowledge it has not been badly handled.
The key there is "to your knowledge." It's a given that something happened to break the screen.
I took it into apple and they said it would be £400 to repair.
Was that the total, to fix all problems, or just for the screen? It seems like the right price just to replace the screen. Keep in mind that, if I'm right, the total bill to repair everything else will be considerably higher.

Jetpack 5510L needed for Polycom video conference - is this possible - has progress been made?

We've has a successful connection when a static IP was available and we can at least connect to a bridge and see the template and the image of our own classroom in the top right corner, but we can not see or hear the far end and the far end cannot see or hear us.
How should we approach this when the bridge is our only IP option to connect to? What is required to make this connection complete on both ends?

I would actually contact PolyCom since they are the video conference vendor that own the software you are attempting to use. PolyCom most likely has experience dealing with VZW network connections and should be able to help you identify why their application is not working.
If you truly have a static and public IP address assigned to your Jetpack then the port forwarding options will be available to you. You may have to customize the ports to get all of the video conferencing communication lines opened.
If you can find a specific limitation from PolyCom then come back to us and let us know what it is. We may be able to provide you with steps or suggestions on how to customize your Jetpack to work around them. For now, the problem could be anything so VZW and the community really cant help you.

How to edit a video that has already been exported?

I have a video which was exported, however I would like to go back and edit some things. When I open FCPX, I am unable to find the video file at all, and the only way I can even see it in the program is by importing the already exported file. Obviously I cannot edit the video. If there are any suggestions on what can be done to retrieve the file, it would be very much appreciated! Thank you!

FCPX is generally good at keeping track of your projects, events and media.
What version of FCPX are you running?
If you dont see the project at all in your projects/events list, it may be that you moved some files about outside of FCPX in Finder? I suspect it isnt lost, just misplaced

How has this been done

I was looking at the source code for apples site and found this

so it seams their entire navigation bar is done with a single image file
Individual parts of the bar respond to events such as mouse overs with image swaps (as you can see from that link the bar has 4 possible states)
what i want to know is this
how can individual sections of the bar have an image swap when the only image they have is an image of the entire bar
I can think of one way but i dont know if this is what they have done or not
each section is its own DIV/ list item/ Span tag (whatever they used) and each section links to the file but offsets it with absolute positioning and overflow hidden so that only the relevant part appears? but if this is what they have done how have they made the mouseover effect work in the same way?

1) a single image file has a fixed width and height, ofen a DIV does not - this is the reason why we use DIVs not tables.
Huh? Tables have no fixed height either. But the reason has nothing to do with the going in statement. Sorry I don't get your point here.
sometimes a site will set a background to repeat. but this only works when you need the exact same colour repeated over and over. If the image is a complex one then applying it to a canvas without a fixed size wont work unless you are willing to stretch and distort the image.

2) if your using a single image to give you all the background images you have a lot of "white" or "transparent" area, this ammount to extra data that has to be downloaded.
WHAT? We are talking about using a single image for a sprite-based rollover. That's all. And whitespace adds NOTHING to the page's weight or bandwidth.... Sorry - I'm not grasping where you are trying to go here.

Analog VIDEO OUT - has this been killed forever?

So, have we reached the end of the line for ANALOG VIDEO OUT on ALL devices?
Apparently, there is NO analog video out on iPod Touch 5th Gen, iPad 4th Gen, or iPhone 5th Gen - all devices with the ridiculously small 8-pin connector, which all run iOS6
Apple's sales site for the $30, 8-pin to 30-pin connector clearly says "Video not supported"
What?
So anyone with an expensive car video system, 30-pin composite video link, home AV receiver, etc. is out of luck?
Is this a sign that Apple has rolled-over to Hollywood in advance of an Apple TV system that only transmits HDCP-style-encrypted digital TV signals?

Anyone have the answer to this? I've read here that people with 4th Gen devices (iPad 3rd Gen) running iOS6 are also being denied video since the update from iOS5 to iOS6 (which some "believe" is a "software" error in the update).
Is that true as well?

Trojan found - has it been made safe?

McAfee has just 'done' its weekly full scan of my computer. The security report says it detected 1 trojan. It also says that my system is secure and no action required.
This may be an obvious question - but is there anything I should do to remove the found Trojan? If so I can't find a way to remove it. Or, which I hope is the case, has McAfee dealt with it and I have nothing further to worry about?
I always look at the security report and this is the first time it has indicated that something has been found.

Videos - How to save changes made via Adjustments?

The new video features: Great!
I tried CTRL+S to save changes (changed Exposure to totally black for testing) to my .MOV video file - however, the file is unchanced. I'm guessing the adjustments are still just sitting in my Lightroom catalogue.
Is the correct way to export the video and re-encode it then?
If export is the only way - shouldn't there be some "save" function? I never trust the Lightroom catalogue to always keep all changes, I always do some CTRL+A, CTRL+S to save the changes to the files, so they are hardwired - would I have to export the videos, copy them back to the original folder and delete the original videos?

You cannot save changes to the video files as you can do with photo files.
In this case, everything is saved in the catalog, and you will need to export to render the video.
However, it is generally admitted that the catalog is a safer place to record changes, compared to individual files, and it is also easier to backup.

Placing text from Viewer onto a layer that has not been made yet?

I have video in V2 and I want to place some text above it into a new layer, though that layer does not exist so I can not drag the v1 switch to target that layer. I end up having to drag the clip in the Timeline up to create a new layer, V3, then I drag it back down to V2 so I can drag the v1 switch to V3 and place the text from the Viewer into that layer.
What is the right way to do this so I can go straight from the Viewer to the Canvas and into a new layer above the highest layer in the Timeline?

If you'd just drag the Textclip from the Viewer directly to the Timeline. Drag it to where layer 3 would be and let go of the clip. V3 is created automatically. Regardless of the settings of the Tartget buttons.

How to apply a Character Style that's already been made in a template document?

First of all I'd like to thank everyone that helps. I'm a complete beginner at scripting and appreciate all your help.
I'm basically using GREP expressions to find patterns in a document and apply a Character Style which has already been made. This Character style was not made using script, but just in InDesign when making and setting up the template.

This is how I currently have it. I will manually define the changes to the text. The problem is, each template uses a different set of fonts and not all of them use Bold e.g. Sabon can use CE Bold.
I would like to learn how to apply a Character Style and have tried looking around but nothing seems to work.
Any help would be much appreciated.

In versions 6.5 and lower it is my understanding that the Bridge is a single threaded
process. Has it been made multi-threaded in 7.1 or 8.0. If not, are there any
plans to make it so in the future?

The Bridge is not multithreaded in any released version of TUXEDO.
We are not oblivious to the need, though.
