Tild(~) and never share ??

Hi,
For consolidate operator tild(~) ,Essbase dont calculate the child for parent and "Never share" storage type also dont share the value of child to parent(as i'm assuming)..then what is the difference between them?
Please guide me the right thing where I went wrong.
Thanks

Hi,
~ and never share have different objectives. ~ ,as you know does not participate in consolidation.Coming to the 'never share', when you have a parent with single child, its assumed to have implied share. i.e parent and child share the data in implied fashion without even setting any thing.
If you want to break this , you can set 'never share'.
Hope this helps

Using More than One iDevice on the Same Computer
This applies mainly to couples who are adding another device and do not want their email, messages, etc. being duplicated on both devices. To begin read: How to use multiple iPhone, iPad, or iPod devices with one computer. You need to establish a separate Apple ID and password for whomever will use the new iDevice. See Apple - My Apple ID and Frequently asked questions about Apple ID. The easiest way is to do this on the computer using iTunes: iTunes- How to set up an Apple ID within iTunes.
On the computer create a new user account for the person with the new iDevice. This will be the user account that person will always use. He/She will no longer use the other user account. This way that person will have a separate iTunes Library. Note that once done you cannot "share" apps under a single Apple ID. Each of you must purchase your own apps under your own Apple ID. When you decide to split up like this one of you will need to re-purchase the apps that they want to use.
Start by transferring the new device(s) to a new account along with all your data.  Save any photo stream photos that you want to keep to your camera roll (unless they are already in the camera roll) by opening your Photos app, tap on Albums icon at the bottom. Now, tap on My Photo Stream album; tap Select; tap on the photos you want to select;, tap the share icon (box with upward facing arrow) in the lower left corner; then tap Save to Camera Roll.
If you are syncing notes with iCloud that you want to keep then you need to open each of your notes and email them to yourself. Later you can copy and paste the text into new notes created in your new account.
Tap on Settings > iCloud > Delete Account (only deletes it from this device, not from iCloud; the person keeping the current account will not be affected,) provide the password to turn off Find My Phone and choose Keep on My iDevice when prompted.  Sign in with a different Apple ID to create your new account. Choose Merge to upload your data.
Once you are on separate accounts, you can each go to icloud.com and delete the other person's data from your account.

  • Never Share and inputting data into a Planning Web form.

Currently I have several accounts where there is one child per parent. The child member is set as "Never Share" and the parent member is set as "Dynamic Calc". When I show both the parent member and child member in a web form any data inputted into the child account is lost once the data is saved? How do I setup the web form so that I can save data to these child account members?
    Thank you

    Hi,
Little disturbing but what you are facing is called implied sharing. See below post.
Re: Saving data on form will not save
In short, you have two options:
    1. Remove the parent from the form
    2. Add a dummy sibling to the same member but do not show it at the form, you can have parent and child at the same time in the form in this case.

  • My husband and I share an ITunes account. He gets my apps and I get his. How can this be separated. I am also getting his contacts. My Icloud is turned off!

My husband and I share an I tunes account.
This was never a problem until I Cloud was born.
I have turned off the Icloud on my I phone4 all together.
He has Iphone 4S and is getting all the apps I purchase and I am getting his contacts.
How can this be solved. If I get my own Itunes account do I have to purchase my apps again?
    Help!

If you use another iTunes ID you can keep your apps, but you need to do some settings first.
    Read the hlep infos.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4895
I have purchased music, apps, or books with multiple Apple IDs. How can I get all of this content onto my iOS device?

First, you need to copy all of your purchased content so it is on the same Mac or PC with iTunes. This computer should be the one you sync your device with. For more information on how to move your content, see these articles:
Mac:  iTunes for Mac: How to copy purchases between computers
PC:  iTunes for Windows: How to copy purchases between computers
Next, authorize your computer to play content with each Apple ID in iTunes. Once your computer is authorized for all your content, it can be synced to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
And about the iCloud, I'm not very sure about that. I think maybe you don't need to turn off all of the iCloud settings, just the items you don't want to sync with your husband. For the apps, you can cancel 'automatically download purchased items' in the settings on iOS devices.
May these informations will help you.

  • My wife and I share an iTunes account. Is there any way to set up a seperate one for her to sync her phone contacts, iCloud and music to without having to purchase all her music again and then share going forward?

My wife and I share an iTunes account. Is there any way to set up a seperate one for her to sync her phone contacts, iCloud and music to without having to purchase all her music again and then share going forward?
It would be so much easier having seperate accounts but we have hundreds of her purchased songs on my account and she would need to be able to access these from her account. Possible?
Also, if we bought a song in future we would want to be able to both have access to it.
Alternatively, what is the easy way to sync two distinctly different contact lists to one iTunes account?
    Thank you in advance.

FYI: iTunes account (used to make purchases) is not the same as iTunes library (iTunes on your computer with music, movies, etc.).
    ecbclb wrote:
Will we have to create a seperate account for her, or can we all have the same one?
You can but you will not be able to limit what she syncs.
I would like to avoid 'checking' and 'unchecking' individual songs every time one of us tries to synch our ipods to the library.
I don't recommend using (only) the checkmarks to select what to sync.
Each of you can create your own playlists then sync only those playlists.
Then add/delete from your own playlists to change iPod content.
The only time I uncheck items is if I rarely/never want to sync them to anything, such as Christmas music or old audiobooks.
I suggest you each have your own computer login account. Then everyone has their own contacts, calendars, and everything else.
You and your husband can share an iTunes library and let your daughter have her own.

  • My partner and I share and iCloud account, we updated our software now whenever she gets a text message I see it on my phone and vice versa

My partner and I share an iCloud account . We both have the iPhone 5. We recently updated the software to the iOS 7.2 and now whenever she gets a text message I receive and vice versa. This never happened before only happened since the update

iCloud has nothing to do with messages (iCloud does include an email account, but not a messaging service).  If you both use the same AppleID for iMessage, then you are sharing the same messaging account.
One of you needs to get an alternate AppleID, sigin out of iMessage, then sign in with the alternate AppleID.  That way you will each have your own private iMessage accounts.

  • My wife and I share the same email address and Apple ID.  We are not able to send and receive Text Messages to one another.

My wife and I share the same email address and Apple ID. We are not able to send and receive Text Messages to one another. Is the cause of this because we share the same Apple ID? Will we have to set up 2 separate primary email addresses to be able to  send and receive Tex Messages to one another? Like I said, we share the same email address and woul like to keep it that way to keep up with our email together. Is there a way to by-pass having to set up 2 primary emaill addresses if this is the problem?
    Thanks.

go to the settings and turn off imessage
but that don't change the issue that you will never be able to facetime eachtoher
the appleID is really meant as the handle that identify you it was not meant to be shared
but can see that people may want to do not buy apps more then once

  • Do's, Don'ts and Never for first time users

I work within a global organisation - with many people turning to Captivate for the first time. We all share the same LMS.
I want to create a short "check-list" of the most important Captivate Preference / Settings or ways of working  to help new users (and old users) get the best from Captivate and to ensure the projects they upload the our LMS run pretty much trouble free.
    For example:
    1. Always work locally (local C drive)
    2. Edit /Preferences - select Generate Project Backup
    3. Set slide quality to High 24-bit
    4. Dont copy paste images, use Captivate Image>insert and .PNG format
What in your opinion, would you suggest the most important "Do, Don't and Never" new users need to be made aware of?
We have different versions of Captivate being used, ranging from v4 to v7 - so I appreciate this will all have to be fairly generic.
    Many thanks

    Hi all
WRT working off a server, this is something I've always admonished as a huge thing to avoid. I've always used the analogy of working in my kitchen and preparing a recipe. Your captivate project and all the ingredients are stored in your local C drive which is similar to your fridge and pantry, Need to add an image? (egg) As long as your project is on the C drive, it's similar to opening the fridge and grabbing an egg. As long as there is an egg in the fridge, no problem. Instant access. But nothing says you MUST work this way, Sure, I can just go to the store any time I need an egg. But I have to stop what I'm doing, get in the vehicle, drive to the store, purchase the egg, drive back and finally I can use the egg. And to me, that's EXACTLY what it's like when you work with your project on a server.
My recommendation is always to keep the project on your local drive and periodically make backup copies of the project on a server for safekeeping.
Just to note that this is really more of a common thing among many applications. Some apps are more sensitive to where files are placed than others, but it's a characteristic shared by many.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Monitor Sysvol and netlogon Share availability on domain controllers

I need to monitor availability of sysvol and Netlogon shares on all our domain controllers around 20 in all.
What is the best way for us to do that.
I have seen scripts that monitor share availability but that would mean i create 40 such 2 times script monitors , that is too much of manual work..
    Any advice.

I looked into the discovered Inventory (SysVol for windows 2008)  I see all theobjects
But the path shows as dc01.domain.com\dc01\sysvol
However we never get notified when the sysvol share is inaccessible.
We have had a number of cases when the DC is online but somehow we cant access the sysvol share
    We need a monitor to alert us in such a case;
I modified the our script to include %computername%  and targeted it to all dC's  group,
    Dim oAPI, oBag
    Set oAPI = CreateObject("MOM.ScriptAPI")
    Set oBag = oAPI.CreatePropertyBag()
    Set objFSO = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject")
    strFile = "\\%computername%\sysvol\"
    If objFSO.FolderExists(strFile) Then
    Call oBag.AddValue("Status","Exist")
    Call oAPI.Return(oBag)
    Else
    Call oBag.AddValue("Status","NotExist")
    Call oAPI.Return(oBag)
    End If
However the monitor alerted critical  immediately.
    How should the monitor be.
I though if i put \\%computername%\sysvol\ in the script and send it to all the DC's group then it will start monitoring as \\dc01\sysvol etc

  • Never Share property from Rules file

    Hello everyone,
I need to apply storage property as 'Never Share' from rules file, I've a column in a file which says 'Never Share' / 'Store Date' for Members, for this column I'm using Field Type as 'Property' but could not succed after dimension build.
    1) Can we apply storage property from rules file?
    2) I have different data for a parent and it's children, so if I ignore consolidation type for all Childern under a parent will that satisfy instead of Never Share ?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi John,
Thanks for your quick response. :)
    Regarding the Never Share,
I have a situation where Parent is not sum of it's Children, i.e. input data is present at other levels apart from level 0.
For the above case, if a Parent has only one Child then by default Implied sharing is enabled for parent and will not display correct data. So in this situation if
    a) Setting Parent to Never Share will allow me to have different data for parent and child OR
    b) Setting consolidation of child or Children to (~) ignore
    will they solve the problem?

  • Custom Dimension with multiple children defined as "Never Share"

    Hyperion Planning - 11.1.1.3
There is Custom dimension "Appliance" with root defined as a "Never Share". It has multiple level 0 (SubAppl1, SubAppl2, SubAppl3 etc) members with "Store". Data is some times loaded at root level and some times at the lower levels and at times both. What is the expected result?
When POV is Appliance and when it is drilled down?
    For Ex:
    For Jan -
Appliance is 100, No other members loaded with data.
    For Feb -
    Appliance is 30
    SubAppl1 is 10
    SubAppl2 is 10
    SubAppl3 is 5
    POV
    Appliance Jan - 100
Appliance Feb - 30 or 25? and why?
Trying to understand the behavior or "Never share" in this scenario.
    Appreciate your feedback.

Never Share has no bearing on your sample. The Never Share flag is to prevent a implicit sharing which will happen when you have one parent with a single child under it. Your structure is not setup such that an implicit share would occur based on your example.
I really do not recommend loading data at upper level members as this means you can never run a normal aggregation on your data. If you were to aggregate your data and you happened to have the AGGMISSG set to true you would see the data in your january example of 100 was removed due to the level 0 members not having any values.
So the question of your February being 30 or 25 is did you load 30 to February Appliance or did you load to the level 0 and then aggregate?

  • My wife and I share the iPad. Can we set up separate accounts to log in (like on our Mac)?

My wife and I share the iPad. Can we set up separate accounts to log in (like on our Mac)?

Good question, but I'm 99.9% certain the answer is "no".  Here are some considerations:
Think of the heritage of iOS.  It really started with iPhones and maybe iPods.  These devices cost a whole lot less than a Mac.  They are generally not thought of as shared (with exceptions, of course, as is true for you).
Think of the backup process.  i-devices typically sync with one iTunes on one computer.  How would an i-device with multiple users enstantiate this?
Anyway, all this is to say I'm convinced you cannot do what you're inquiring about.

Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.
