Time and Calendar issue

On my BB Tour, I want to let the network set the local time while I am traveling but I do not want this choice to change all the times in my calendar.  In essence I do not want the calendar to change but I do want my device to reflect local time for the clock and alarm features.  This device is so wicked smart that I am sure this must be possible.  How do I do that?  Help!

Me too with the same problem. If I move to a different time period (say from Week to Day) after changing the displayed time zone, it does refresh.

I have that exact same problem! It plays albums fine. But individual songs including ones downloaded from iTunes either skip or play the music of another totally different song. All play fine on iTunes and my iPhone... Got this one to replace my dying 5th gen classic.
I hope there is a fix for this, cause it *****!!!!

I want to get a new iPhone to replace this defective phone. I am gonna be crazzzzzzzyyyyyyyy with anger,!!!,!,,,!  I takes2 hours to go to Regent street apple stores for three times!!!!!. It is a lot of transport fees !
PLz tell me why! How to deal with it !

Unless it's confirmed officially that your phone is defective, then you can ask for a replacement. Or you have to live with you. However you can trade it for a new one if you don't care the price drop.

  • Microsoft Outlook 2011 for Mac sync Contacts and Calendar issues

OK, so I have a Macbook Pro with OS X Mountian Lion. I have Microsoft Outlook 2011 for Mac installed. Asked @BlackberryHelp on Twitter how to sync my Blackberry Torch with Outlook as it seems to default to using the builtin Apple Contacts and Calendar instead of Outlook. So they sent me the link to KB19148: "How to synchronize organizer data in Microsoft Office for Mac between the BlackBerry smartphone and a Mac computer using BlackBerry Desktop Software". So I turned on the Sync Services in Outlook and it gave me the dialog box confirming that everything was synced. And it appeared to copy and sync whatever Contacts in the Apple Contacts and calendar entries in the Apple Calendar into Outlook and vice versa. Cool since that's what I wanted.
Then I tried using the Blackberry Desktop Manager to sync everything to my Blackberry Torch 9810. Everything looked like it synced until I opened my Blackberry and all my Contacts were gone. Same with my Calendar entries, except that the Calender entries were hit and miss to whatever copied over (some Calendar entries were missing and others were duplicates). Checked the Apple Contacts and all of them were gone. But when I opened Outlook, everything was there and all OK.
So am I missing something? Turning on Sync Services in Outlook should sync all my Contacts and Calendar with my Blackberry when I use Blackberry Desktop Manager, correct? So why is it still syncing with the Apple Contacts and Calendar (and why did it delete all my Apple Contacts and mess up my Apple Calendar)?
Good thing I backed everything up first so restored everything. But I have all my updated Contacts and Calendar in Outlook and I still need to sync all of that. I don't want to manually do it. So how do I fix this??

After a bit of googling I think you mean the notation "domain\username", i.e., a backslash separator but no leading backslash.
I am not familiar with that notation but apparently it is valid in some contexts.  I googled "os x "domain\username"" to confirm this notation.  Here's one of the hits that shows the notation:
OS X Lion: Guidelines for connecting to a DFS namespace via SMB
I think "DFS" is a distributed file system.  That's as much as I know about this.

Say WHAT? That's totally ridiculous advice.
it USED to be true. but the ipod touches contain a different type of battery to the older ones, which actually benefit from 'topping up' the charge regularly rather than letting it run down.

  • Time Zone/calendar issues

I just moved from the East Coast to the West coast. I have traveled in the past and never had an issue with the time zones or my calendar appointments. But since I've moved, my calendar is all whacked out, giving me reminders at the wrong time for events. I just changed the time zone in my calendar (I asusmed it already did that when I reset the main systems time settings) and now my phone is off worse than before!! It's driving me crazy! Please help!

    Hi there,
You may need to check the Time Zone Support settings on your devices. Take a look at the article below for more information.

  • TS4526 Found a fix for the time and date issue

    ROKU GEN 3

I am simply lookig for some help not an argument.  I am not an RF specialist however have setup a few wireless networks in my tenure at Wynn Resorts.  I fully agree that wireless networking is an art and a science however the powers that be in Network Land have toughted wireless networking is the easiest and quickest way to get two computers to talk with one another.  As I previously said I have already turned one (1) MBP in for this problem and Apple decided to replace it because they could not fix the problem with my particular MBP.  This MBP was running Leopard when the problems started
I am having a hard time believeing that there are several other devicces in my home that depend on a wireless network to operate and my MBP is the only one having an issue.  I took this a step further and decided to see what would happen if I tried to connect wirelessly via Fusion.  In Windows 7 I am able to print and scan to my hearts content without any issues.  I am able to browse the internet as much as I want.  I close Fusion and try to connect to my printer via wireless and nothing.
In order to get Apple to help do I need to get a Network Analyzer and capture packets when I have these problems?  Out of the 1000 + posts is there a consolidation of which answer is the best?  BTW I am accessing the internet via a wireless connection using Fusion and Windows 7.
In response to Linc's comments, I will look at the router specifications however I did not qualify that these devices are not using the wireless connection at the same time.  Right now I would guess there are maybe two (2) or three (3) at the most that are actively transmitting / receiving information. --  Thanks

  • Execution times and other issues in changing TextEdit documents

(HNY -- back to terrorize everyone with off-the-wall questions)
--This relates to other questions I've asked recently, but that may be neither here nor there.
--Basically, I want to change a specific character in an open TextEdit document, in text that can be pretty lengthy. But I don't want pre-existing formatting of the text to change.
--For test purposes the front TextEdit document is simply an unbroken string of letters (say, all "q's") ranging in number from 5 and upwards. Following are some of the results I've gotten:
--1) Using a do shell script routine (below), the execution is very fast, well under 0.1 second for changing 250 q's to e's and changing the front document. The problem is that the formatting of the first character becomes the formatting for the entire string (in fact, for the entire document if there is subsequent text). So that doesn't meet my needs, although I certainly like the speed.
    --SCRIPT 1
    tell application "TextEdit"
set T to text of front document
set Tnew to do shell script "echo " & quoted form of T & " | sed 's/q/e/g'"
set text of front document to Tnew
    end tell
    --END SCRIPT 1
--The only practical way I've found to change a character AND maintain formatting is the "set every character where it is "q" to "e"" routine (below). But, for long text, I've run into a serious execution speed problem. For example, if the string consists of 10 q's, the script executes in about 0.03 second. If the string is 40 characters, the execution is 0.14 second, a roughly linear increase. If the string is 100 characters, the execution is 2.00 seconds, which doesn't correlate to a linear increase at all. And if the string is 250 characters, I'm looking at 70 seconds. At some point, increasing the number of string characters leads to a timeout or stall. One interesting aspect of this is that, if only the last 4 characters (example) of the 250-character string are "q", then the execution time is again very quick.
    --SCRIPT 2
    tell application "TextEdit"
set T to text of front document
    tell text of front document
set every character where it is "q" to "e"
    end tell
    end tell
    --END SCRIPT 2
--Any insight into this issue (or workaround) will be appreciated.
--In the real world, I most often encounter the issue when trying to deal with spaces in long text, which can be numerous.

OK, Camelot, helpful but maddening. Based on your response. I elected to look at this some more, even though I'm stuck with TextEdit on this project. Here's what I found, not necessarily in the order I did things:
    1) I ran your "repeat" script on my usual machine (2.7 PPC with 10.4.6)) and was surprised to consisently get about 4.25 seconds -- I didn't think it should matter, but I happened to run it with Script Debugger.
    2) Then, curious as to what a slower processor speed would do, I ran it at ancient history speed -- a 7500 souped up to 700 MHz. On a 10.4.6 partition, the execution time was about 17 seconds, but on a 10.3.6 partition it was only about 9.5 seconds. (The other complication with this older machine is that it uses XPostFacto to accommodate OS X.) And I don't have Script Debugger for 10.3.x, so I ran the script in Script Editor on that partition.
    3) That got me wondering about Script Editor vs. Script Debugger, so (using 10.4.6) I ran the script on both the old machine and my (fast) usual machine using Script Editor. On the old machine, it was somewhat faster at about 14 seconds. But, surprise!, on the current machine it took twice as long at 8.6 seconds. The story doesn't end here.
(BTW, I added a "ticks" routine to the script, so the method of measuring time should be consistent. And I've been copying and pasting the script to the various editors, so there shouldn't be any inconsistencies with it. I've consistently used a 250-character unbroken string of the target in a TextEdit document.)
    4) Mixed in with all these trials, I wrote a script to get a list of offsets of all the target characters; it can be configured to change the characters or not. But I found some intriguing SE vs. SD differences there also. In tests on the fast machine, running the script simply to get the offset list (without making any changes), the list is generated in under a second -- but sometimes barely so. The surprise was that SE ran it in about half the time as SD. although SD was about twice as fast with a script that called for changes. Go figure.
    5) Since getting the offset list is pretty fast in either case, I was hoping to think up some innovative way of using the offset list to make changes in the document more quickly. But running a repeat routine with the list simply isn't innovative, and the result is roughly what I get with your repeat script coupled with an added fraction of a second for generating the list. Changing each character as each offset is generated also yields about the same result.
My conclusion from all this is that the very fast approaches (which lose formatting) are changing the characters globally, not one at a time as occurs visibly with techniques where the formatting isn't lost. I don't know what to make of SE vs. SD, but I repeated the runs several times in each editor, with consistent results.
Finally, while writing the offset list script, I encountered a couple AS issues that I've seen several times in the past (having nothing specifically to do with this topic), but I'll present that as a new post.
Thanks for your comments and any others will be welcome.

  • Logviewer 1.14 showing incorrect times, and other issues.

Couple of issues with running LogViewer, wondering if anyone can help.
First, and seems to be the most frustrating, is that the LogViewer screen is showing incorrect times for the events. I am in Mountain Time zone in the US, which is GMT-7. When looking at the log from a web browser, my router is displaying the correct time. The text file that LogViewer saves on the local computer shows the same correct time. The LogViewer screen, however, shows a time 7 hours into the future. IE, if I type out the log from a DOS window, the last event will say something like "Mar 28 1:15:05 2008", but that same event number will be listed on the logviewer screen as "Mar 28 8:15:05" Any ideas on what may be wrong and how to correct it?
Second, all events seem to be grouped exactly 3 minutes apart. I realize this is probably an effect of the router sending the information every three minutes. Anyone know of a way of changing that period?
Hm, just noticed a third, but very minor issue. The text file written has the wrong day of week on it. It's listing Mar 28 2008 as a Wednesday...
Thanks in advance for any advice.
OK, the tech info. I am running LogViewer 1.14 on a Windows XP machine, contacting an WRT55AG with firmware 1.20. The connection is through a Cat 5 cable, not through the wireless.

  • Siri will not tell me the time, and another issues

I tried to ask siri a number of questions since I received my iphone 5 on Saturday
    "what time is it"
    "call <contact name>"
    "what music is playing"
all have given me similar variations on "i'm having trouble can you please try again"
I switched from my iphone 4 and I was able to do these very basic tasks.
Does apple have any feedback on when they are going to fix this issue with Siri not able to respond to basic tasks?

i'm in america and its not working for american english. I think they are having trouble routing united states english but not the other english variations.

  • Vista - Outlook 2007 small business and calendar issues

I've read every thing I can, tried all suggestions, including rebuilding my .pst file, restoring my phone, checking the add on, etc...still can't get my calendar to sync properly. What else is there to try...I'm at my wits end here
I've removed several programs from my computer (HP Laptop zd8215us), tried a reinstall of office 2007 but still no luck...is this something that can be fixed? if not I'll have to return this awesome phone for one little quirk I can't live without, and the AT&T sales rep assured me there were no issues with sync'n data with outlook...gave up my blackjack for the same issues.....grrrrr

Well. Working just fine now, since uninstalling and re-installing icloud and syncing.

  • Daylight Savings Time and Calendar?

What will happen to my iPhone calendar events come daylight savings time?

I have had that problem on my mac and iPhone. In my calendar it shows one hour later and even on my alarm clock app it is changing times, just odd random things.
On my iPhone I changed the time setting and it did not help. I am avoiding doing a total wipe and restore or whatever, because I don't want to go through the hassle of re doing everything.
I keep fixing my calendar and it keeps giving me trouble. Let me know if anybody has any ideas.

  • Time and Indexing Issues

Not sure if I posted this in the right forum:
Every time I switch from Windows -> OS X since I installed Windows XP Pro, the computer restarts normally, except for the clock in the upper toolbar, which is always exactly 6 hours behind. I can fix this by opening Date & Time Prefs and clicking random buttons until the clock adjusts automatically. I currently have the "set date & time automatically" option checked. When I uncheck it, the problem persists as usual.
Also, occasionally the Windows clock is exactly 6 hours ahead when I restart in Windows, but that doesn't fix itself until the next time I restart in Windows.
Also, almost every time I restart in OS X, the spotlight icon in the upper toolbar says "indexing" and only allows me to use spotlight after about a minute of indexing.
I have a feeling these issues are related. Any suggestions?
    Sam

  • Native Contacts and Calendar Issues

I can't seem to find my way around this. When I set up an appointment using the PlayBook Local calendar I can't send an invite to other attendees, I receive a message saying the account does not have an associated email account. I have a Gmail and Hotmail account connected to my PlayBook so I'm unsure what it's asking for. When I set an appointment using my gmail account I don't even have an attendee option. The other issue is that when I accept a Facebook event it doesn't recognize the other attendees as people in my contacts. This means they may show up as a person I'm meeting that day but if I select them I can't see any future meetings. After changing my FaceBook email from an old address to my current email I no longer can see any FaceBook events on my PlayBook, which is even more frustrating than the other issues.
With the native contacts app I put in my own information and my 2 email accounts and LinkedIn accout were all recognized and linked, however my Facebook and Twitter acounts were not found. Furthermore, I can not add those accounts to my contact card manually. I've had similar issues not being able to manually add a LinkedIn account to a contacts information. Is this a glitch or something I'm doing wrong?
