Time capsule doesnt work with telia bredband no wifi

Time capsule doesnt work with telia bredband no wifi.  Time capsule and its wifi worked in the beginning, but now it doesnt. I have tried everything without success.

There is no question.. so if it is a statement of resignation.. then if under warranty and faulty Apple will fix it/replace it.. if not dead you will be given it back.
Are you using Lion? If so did you download 5.6 airport utility?
Plug the TC into a computer by ethernet.. hold in reset for 10sec.. and then redo the setup.
Give TC and wireless short names and no spaces and no special characters.. lock the wireless to manual a/n-b/g and fix the channels.
Then if it doesn't work most likely faulty. Otherwise it is just setup is wrong.

What is the best way to get a time capsule to work with a new network name?

Well it seems that you did not explain to us the full story.  Did you change ISP's or something? Why would it not show up anymore?
What colour is the light on the time-capsule? If it's blinking amber, then you probably need to do a factory-reset. That should get it to show up again in AirPort Utility.

  • My time capsule doesnt work when its conneted direct cable modem, and it start working from netgear router

I just bought a Airport Time Capsule, time capsule is connected direct from wan to cable modem (it doesnt work). when i connect it to lan port 1, it start working. normal process i know is from cable modem to wan port. 2nd i notice, network is on bridge mode. so my question is how do i make it to work from modem to wan port.

What model is the modem? Is it a pure cable modem or a combined modem router?
This maybe important as the current model TC does have issues with some of the popular cable modems.. SB6121 or 6141 being often the ones complained about here.
If it is a pure cable modem (most will have just one ethernet port). Then power down the modem for 20min. This allows enough time for the MAC address of the first device connected to be lost at the ISP end so it is ready for a new router.
The TC must be in dhcp and nat mode.
Please factory reset the TC and start over.
    The Factory Reset universal
Unplug your TC/AE. Hold in reset. and power the TC/AE back on..  all without releasing reset and keep holding in for about 10sec. The time is not important.. it is the front LED rapid flashing that indicates you are in factory mode.
    Release reset.
If it doesn’t flash rapidly you have released reset at some point and try again.
Be Gentle! Feel the switch click on. It has a positive feel..  add no more pressure after that.
TC/AE will reboot after a couple of minutes with default factory settings and will wipe out previous configurations.
No files are deleted on the hard disk.. No reset of the TC deletes files.. to do that you use erase from the airport utility.
By default the TC is in router mode after a reset.
    Restart the modem.
The power up the TC and run through the setup utility.
The TC should then be accepted as the main router in the network.
If this fails check the WAN ip address. If it is 10.x.x.x or some other private IP you did not turn off the cable modem for long enough.. Try again only this time leave it off longer. (Some ISP it is just 5min.. some 15.. some will require 60min or overnight).

  • Time Capsule Not Working With Time Machine

I'm trying to backup to my Time Capsule, which I haven't used in over two years. It had been displaced because of a change in internet service providers. The new provider came in with a Linksys router, setup a sub-network, and left the Time Capsule/Airport out of the mix.
So I want to return to using my Time Capsule and have since pulled out the Linksys router, and got the Airport functionality working with the existing, primary network. In other words, the Time Capsule/Airport is working to extend the range of the network.
Problem is this: I cannot backup to the Time Capsule. Even if I'm connecting to the Time Capsule via ethernet, I cannot get it past the 'preparing' phase when running Time Machine. It stays at the phase for what seems to me an inordinate amount of time (30-45 minutes). If I go into System Preferences, the Time Capsule disk doesn't make itself available when using it with Time Machine. If I choose to go into the Star Wars display of Time Machine, I can sort of see the various backups, but I can't roll back to them, and the backup indicator on the right looks sort of ghosted, like it's there but it's not there.
How do I know if the disk within the Time Capsule is failing? Could that be what's going on? How would I test it? I get a green light on the front of the TC, but not everything is hunky dory since I'm not able to backup.
Is part of my problem that I'm using a not up-to-date version of Airport Utility? –I'm using 5.4.2

Oh and here it is, on this page, Section D, #1:

  • Is it possible to configure Time Capsule to work with Time Machine (MBP) and Genie Timeline (PC)

I have an Apple Time Capsule (2TB) and I need to configure it to work with my MBP and Time Machine and also back up my a PC with Genie Timeline Pro 2013 (or any other suggested PC back up software).
Setting it up to work with Time Machine is simple enough but the PC access is proving to be difficult.
    http://www.genie9.com/support/KB/KnowledgeArticle.aspx?KBID=198
I followed the above steps but still can't connect to the network drive.  I have reformatted the TC and will be walking through the steps again.  My concern is that the two different operating systems (Win8 and Mavericks) can't share the same destination drive.
I have created two user accounts with drive sharing activated.  One in my name for my MBP and the other in the name of my partner for her Dell laptop.
Should the Time Capsule be partitioned?  Can it even be partitioned?  When I use Drive Utility it can't see the TC.  The only way to connect to it seems to be via Airport Utility.
On a seperate note the TC Router Mode is set to OFF (Bridge Mode).  I have connected it to the ADSL modem/router (WiFi Off) via the WAN port.  All seems to be well.  Am I loosing any useful functionality by doing this?
The internet settings are set Connect Using DHCP.  I have no issues but I am not really sure what it means and if I should be using other settings.  The ADSL modem/router seems to have all the PPP0E settings.
The WiFi on the TC has been set up with a 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz network as well as a Guest Network.  I then plan to introduce 2 Airport Express (MB321LL/A). One will be an access point for AirPlay and the other a wireless extender with AirPlay.
There is also a Canon WiFi printer that accesses the 2.4Ghz network.  It has an Ethanet port so I am wondering if I should disable the wifi connection and cable it and if so to the TC or the DSL modem/router.

Lion, 7.6.1 firmware and iCloud offers remote access.
    http://www.apple.com/au/support/icloud/back-to-my-mac/
To do it without the iCloud service your issue is static public IP address.. if you have one this is simple to the point of trivial. If not it is very hard, as Apple did not put in a standard dynamic DNS service.. (ensuring you were roped into their cloud accounts). Static IP from your ISP is the best solution.. if it is possible go for it.
Then the actual protocol for access is AFP, so the only device you can do this on is a Mac.
Do you have the TC as the main router?
If you want any other kind of access, or to avoid icloud use vpn.. which teamviewer is a kind of.. but buy a real vpn router, and bridge the TC.. you can then vpn into your network with full security and get windows access via smb..

  • HT1175 3TB time capsule not working with new iMac

I have a 3TB time capsule that's c. 2 years old. It worked perfectly with my old iMac. I bought a new 27" one when it came out this year and since the time capsule will not work.
I had to clear all the data as a starter. Now it gets a little into the backup taking c. 1 day then resets. It's connected via ethernet cable and has been told to join an existing network.
Currently it says it's backing up 922,498 items, after 2 hours (this is the third attempt, it resets then has no record of the old backup) it says 10kb of 789.44 GB - About 4,664,440 days remaining!!
To clarify I'm trying to use Time Machine with the Time Capsule.
    Please help!!

You have made a mistake in the setup.
You do not "Join an existing networking" and use ethernet.. they are mutually exclusive.
What you are doing is backing up over double hop wireless which is slowing to a crawl.
You need to put the TC into bridge mode.. and plug it into the main router by ethernet. Then use wiretess to the TC if you are too far away or ethernet if you are close by..
As soon as you put the TC into join a wireless network it deactivates the ethernet.

  • How do I configure Time Capsule to work with 8 port unmanaged switch?

This is what I want to end up with.
    cable modem
    Time Capsule
wireless network           8 port unmanaged switch TRENDnet TEGS80G
entertainment center(TV, xbox 360, dvd, apple tv, ect...)
I have been using the above setup with an E3000 router in place of the time capsule without any problems, and was expecting to just be able to switch out the E3000 for the time capsule and keep right on rolling. At the moment, without the switch plugged in, using the time capsule as a stand alone wireless router, everything works as intended. However, I don't want to have every device in the house pulling off of wireless. Whenever I plug my switch in I lose internet connectivity. I assume this is because both the switch and the Time Capsule are trying to direct traffic and creating a conflict. I have attempted to disable the NAT in the Airport Utility and this is what happens.
Where do I go from here, or am I heading in completely the wrong direction?

Unfortunately, you are on the wrong track, heading in the wrong direction at the moment.
We need to learn whether you have a simple modem or a modem/router.
This will determine whether the Time Capsule is to be configured in router mode to provide DHCP and NAT services for the network......or if your "modem" is already doing this.....the Time Capsule needs to be configured in Bridge Mode.
So, I suggest that you disconnect the switch from the Time Capsule for now, and power everything off except the modem, Time Capsule and the computer you are using to configure the Time Capsule, and get things working correctly first. Then, devices can be added one at a time to verify proper operation.
If this seems to make sense to you, and you want to move forward, please post back with the make and model number of your cable modem.

  • Time Capsule Dual: Working with Excel files in Windows Computer

We just purchased the latest-gen Time Capsule to replace another earlier edition TC and we are having a strange problem. We have three iMacs and one PowerBook G4 connected wirelessly to the TC, along with two Windows XP machines which are wired in to the TC. The issue is that the two WinXP machines cannot view Excel files from the TC. When they try to open and work with an Excel file from the TC, they get a message that there is not enough memory to open, work with, or save any Excel files and it won't let them open the Excel file at all. If they copy the file from the TC to the local WinXP computer, they can open it and work on it just fine. At first I thought the issue would be with the new TC, but I plugged back the old TC and it has the exact same problem. The only commonality between the two is that I foolishly updated the firmware on both to 7.4.1. The old TC was working just fine until I installed 7.4.1, and then it started to have the same problem handling the Excel files.
By the way, none of the Macs have any problems accessing and working on the Excel files off the TC, this only happens to the WinXP machines. Also, it only happens on the Excel files; we have other types of files in the TC and all of them seem to open and work just fine. But Excel is our mainstay so we're looking for a solution, can anyone help?

Same happened to me a while back when i updated the firmware 7.4.1 . the macs were ok but the Windows PC's sharing the Time capsule would not save any excel files as errors like memory too low
etc started to appear. easy way to correct this was to got into airport Utility and downgrade back to 7.3.2 , from the menu , you can select what firmware rev you want to go back to select downgrade to 7.3.2 and everything will work ok after this, remember to deselect auto update and check for firmware in the Airport pref till Apple get this sorted out.
    Cheers ian

  • New Air Port Time Capsule Not Working With Old Airport Express

I have been running a home network comprised of a Air Port Time Capsule (A1254) and 5 ea Air Port Express (A1264) for several years with no problem.
The Air Port Time Capsule (A1254) died and I replaced it with an Air Port Time (A1470). Now none of the Air Port Express (A1264) work, all flashing yellow. All other network functions seem to work okay, Time Capsule Backup, Apple TV, Internet …
I am using AirPortUtility 6.3.1 for setup but do not see any way to setup the Air Port Express.

Reset the Express to factory and start over.. they should work.. are you using all 5 in extend wireless mode?
When you reset the Express click on the wifi icon in the top menu area.. and the newly reset AEx will appear in the list.. click it and Airport utility will open and attempt to automagically connect it to the TC.

  • Time Machine doesnt work with McAfee Internet Security Software

    Hello,
I recently installed the McAfee product All Access Internet Security on my 2011 iMac (10.9.4) and configured the real time scan, spyware, application protection and firewall features. All appeared to be running fine with no performance degradation which is great, but after some testing I discovered that the firewall feature prevents Time Machine from connecting to Time Capsule and back ups don't work. Upon deactivating the firewall feature but leaving all other McAfee services running the Time Machine works fine again and all is well.
I'm wondering if there is a way to make a change to a setting that will allow the McAfee firewall to run as two layers of protection (Desktop Firewall and Time Capsule firewall) would be ideal.
Has anyone experienced this or have any suggestions on where to start ?
    Thanks everyone.
    Chris

Just did it here and its working.
My first language is portuguese, so I will try to guess what the similar in English, ok?
1- Go to Mcafee "Preferences"(clic on the Mcfee icon in the upside of your monitor)
    2- Go to "Firewall"
3- Here there is a choice in the little window: "Type: public" is the default option. I changed it to "Type: house or work".
Its working now. Already made two backups in Time Machine(Time Capsule). Don't know what will happen after a day or two.

  • Time Capsule Not Working With Azureus!

    Hi everyone.
I have read every post about this and I am sure I've done everything right, but I STILL cannot pass the NAT/Firewall test on Azureus. I even got an Apple rep to look into it and he worked on it for a week and even he doesn't understand why it isn't working!!! I am running Leopard 10.5.2, and I have a 500 GB Time Capsule. I am using the latest version of Airport Utility and the latest version of Azureus. My ISP is Verizon Fios. Please note that when I was using Airport Extreme with a Powerbook G4 OS 10.4, everything was working swimmingly. The ONLY thing that's changed is that now I'm on Leopard and a Time Capsule. So, Here's a summary of what I've done :
    1. In Network Prefs, made sure I am using a manually configured static IP address (10.0.1.201.)
    2. In Security prefs, made sure firewall is off.
    3. In Airport Utility, made sure I am sharing single IP address using NAT and DHCP.
    4. In Port Mapping, checked the NAT enable box and opened these ports: 6881-6889, 49125-65535, and 40156 just for kicks. I've entered these numbers both public and private, both UDP and TCP (filling in all 4 fields, in other words) AND made sure the IP address matched the static one I was using in Network Prefs.
    5. Restarted Azureus and my Time Capsule (and even the whole computer, just for good measure).
And guess what? Each and EVERY time, I go back to Azureus, run the NAT/Firewall test using a port I just opened, and am told it failed and that the port is in fact closed. I get the "timed out" error.
***?????? I have been working on this for weeks, literally, and I am totally losing it! Will I never see a green smiley again? Please help!!!!
Thank you in advance for ANY tips you may have...

Here are the settings that work for me.
    1. Azureus>Options>Connections>Incoming TCP/UDP listen port:  49125
    2. Applications>Utilities>Airport Utility>Time Capsule>Internet>NAT> Enable NAT Port Mapping Protocol
    3. Applications>Utilities>Airport Utility>Time Capsule>Advanced>Port mapping>
         Public UDP portal: 49125
         Public TCP portal: 49125
         Private IP address: 10.0.1.201
         Private UDP portal: 49125
         Private TCP portal: 49125
    4. System Preferences>Network>Advanced>TCP/IP>Configure IPv4: *Using DHCP with Manual Address* (this is choice #2 not #4: Manual)
    5. IPv4 address:  10.0.1.201
I think that's all. I fooled around with this for a long time and not everything I did may be necessary but I don't want to mess with success.  Don't know why port 49125 works, but it worked on my Dell computer and Linksys router also. Apple Support was positive I didn't need steps 4 and 5 but 60 seconds later, my smiley faces turned green, and when I tested the port, Azureus message said "+Congratulations, you fixed it."+
The only difference I see, between your settings and mine, is perhaps steps #1 and #4. Hope you get it working. Nothing more frustrating than " little yellow faces".

  • Time Capsule not working with new modem

I have been using my TC with our motorola modem for 2.5 years. On Friday last week, the modem crapped the bed and AT&T sent us a new modem, a netgear. The modem is working fine; when I connect the ethernet cable directly to my laptop the internet work perfectly, however when I try to get the wireless network going through my TC, there is no connection. All the lights on the modem work fine and every time I try to work with the TC, it says that it is working fine as well. It seems like something is not communicating between the modem and the TC.
I've tried restarting both machines numerous times, I've checked and rechecked the WEP password, the IP addresses are fine, and I'm still lost
The modem works. Time Capsule Works. I don't get it!

The new netgear is probably a modem router whereas the old Motorola was pure modem.. not sure but possible.
Reset the TC and set it to bridge modem.. plug into the netgear modem router.. and it should work fine.
If the new netgear is in fact a pure modem.. you need to turn it off and put the TC in place.. wait up to 15min for the ISP to renew the lease on the MAC address then turn on the cable modem.. wait then turn on the TC. But this is not necessary if it is a router.
What is the model number of the netgear so I can check this.. ?

  • Time Capsule not working with HP LaserJet 1022nw

    Hello there,
We had an Airport Extreme 802.11n base station that our HP LaserJet 1022nw was wirelessly connecting to, and it was working fine for the last 18 months. Then, we switched to a 1 TB Time Capsule, and had the Time Capsule import all of the settings from our Airport Extreme. Now, the HP LaserJet 1022nw can no longer see our wireless network in its SSID list... and when we manually type in the SSID information & WPA password information, it still cannot connect.
So when using the Time Capsule, we cannot print wirelessly to our HP LaserJet 1022nw. If we unplug the Time Capsule and re-plug in the Airport Extreme, the HP LaserJet instantly works perfectly again.. it sees the wireless network, it connects just fine, and we can print wirelessly again. But as soon as we unplug the Airport Extreme and plug in the Time Capsule instead, the HP LaserJet cannot communicate at all with the Time Capsule.
All of the settings on both the Time Capsule and the Airport Extreme are IDENTICAL. The network name is NOT hidden. They both have the exact same WPA/WPA2 security settings. They are both set to 802.11n (b/g compatible). We have completely reset the HP Laserjet to its factory default settings and started from scratch; we have reset both the Time Capsule & the Airport Extreme as well.
Everything has up-to-date firmware, including the HP Laserjet 1022nw as well.
But whatever we do, the HP Laserjet 1022nw will only communicate wirelessly with the Airport Extreme, NOT the 1 TB Time Capsule.
Any ideas how to solve this problem?
    Thanks,
    Scott

UPDATE: We just temporarily solved this problem by switching our Time Capsule to 802.11b/g mode ONLY (essentially turning OFF 802.11n mode altogether). We did this by going into the Airport Utility, clicking on the "Airport" button at the top, going into the "Wireless" tab, and holding down the OPTION button while clicking on the pop-up menu for "Radio Mode"... and then choosing "802.11b/g compatible" from the list. As soon as we did this, our HP printer INSTANTLY saw our network again and joined the network on its own automatically.
