Time Capsule Info

Hi, How Is it possible to disable wi fi on Time Capsule? I'd like to use it only with LAN, is it possible? Thanks

Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
Click Manual Setup
Click the Wireless tab located just below the row of icons
Write down all of the settings that you see for future reference
Change the setting for Wireless Mode to "Off"
Click Update at the lower right and wait 25-30 seconds  for the TC to restart
Re-enter your settings if you want to enable the wireless network in the future.

    So heres the issue,
whenever I load any computer game it always stops at 99.99% and about 3 minutes later it says submit a request I do and it says I have a network problem
    now you see me here.
I have tried every solution i could find on the internet  but nothing seems to work but for some reason when i go to my friends house or my school it works perfectly fine there any idea what the problem is???
For some reason when i was useing my other wifi network (don't have it anymore) it worked fine then too. I am very confused and kind of angry and I would like this to be fixed as soon as possible.

The solutions i have tried are resetting my catch/browser history, making it so flash has unlimited data storage and refreshing the page taking away extensions even creating a new account and trying it
This happens with online browser mmo's for some reason i can play other online games that don't have a longer loading time for example i can always play games like ricochet kill 4 and other games on addicting games but when it comes to browser games that have a longer loading time they don't load
    heres the time capsule info
    it is a router
    it firmware is 7.7.3
the mode it is currently running on is bridge mode
    no errors are showing up
and i cant get my model  # currently because my parents are in there room sleeping
and it is a base station 6th gen
i am currently playing a game called tynon on my macbook air i try other games like it and they either stop loading at 99 or don't load
    Screen shots:

it says 100% but it still wont load

  • OsX Mavericks and Time Capsule Drive not connecting

    Hi,
I upgraded to Mavericks today and I am now trying to access my 2 TB Time Capsule Hard Drive. I get an error that says: There was a Problem connecting to "XXXX Time Capsule" Server. I also use the Time Capsule for my wireless network, which is working fine. When I go into the AirPort Utility and try to see the Time Capsule info it constantly asks me to put in my password and once I do nothing happens, but the password request appears again in a few minutes. Both my iPhoto and iTunes libraries are stored on my Time Capsule as well as my Time Machine Backups. It has not been able to perform backups either, since it cannot connect to the disk. I am running a MacBook Pro 2010.
Has anyone else had this problem thus far? Is there a workaround for this or an update I should do?
    Thanks!!

    Howdy seanay89,
It sounds like you are unable to make a Time Machine backup becuse the disk is not connecting correctly. I want to recommend these links from the article named:
    Time Machine: Troubleshooting backup issues
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3275
Red "i" message: "The backup volume could not be mounted" or "The backup volume could not be found." appears when using network volume or Time Capsule
Time Capsule: Time Machine backups do not mount
Mac OS X 10.5.3 or later: Time Machine - "Backup volume could not be mounted" after changing network volume's password
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

I have an external hard drive from my time capsule that stopped working on me. I am attempting to access the data with a hard drive reader on my MAC. I am able to see the drive in disk utility and under system info USB. But I am unable to access the data and it does not show on the desktop when connected.

Ok if disk utility was able to verify the drive I doubt there is any problem.. are you trying to open a TM backup??
You need to mount the sparsebundle then check the actual info inside the bundle.
Don't use disk warrior.. if the disk has verified then unless you deliberately deleted files there is nothing that is going to do.
Pondini has a lot of stuff about getting access to the sparsebundle.
    http://pondini.org/TM/17.html
But if you have copied info to the TC that is now gone.. and the disk is ok.. I am not sure.. the TC will not have deleted the files itself.

  • My Time Capsule says it is full. It has duplicate info. I need to empty it and reload. I just switched to the new OS (ML) and cannot find how to do it in Airport Utilities. Help!

I need to strip out my time capsule and reload info from computer. It says it is full, but actually has duplicate info as I took all of my files out of an older computer and put them in the new one. It is 500GB, but I only have half of thayt on my computer. I want to start over. I downloaded instructions to do it with airport utility, but in the new OS there is just a picture of my time capsule and no way to get to "manual" to delete info and reinstall. Any help out there? Greatly appreciated, Craig

Using Mountain Lion, the AirPort Utility screen looks like this:
It will not stop "restarting". I think I need to pull the plug
This is an entirely different problem than you described in your intial post. Probably all you can do is pull the power, wait a minute and see if the Time Capsule will restart when you power it up again.

  • My time capsule is full.  How can I delete older info?

My time capsule is full.  How can I delete older info?

You can enter the Time Machine restore interface and find files that can be removed from the backup disk itself to conserve space. To do this, select the file(s) and from the Action pop-up menu (gear icon) in the Time Machine Finder window choose "Delete All Backups of...". Be sure to only delete files you are sure you won't need or want to restore later.

  • Messed up Utilities Folder, can't access system info, won't back up from time capsule

My iMac has 2 harddrives. 250 start up and 1tb  HD2. I was trying to make room on the 250 drive, and moved the Utilites folder to HD 2. Couldn't get system info, so tried moving Utilites folder back. Still can't get info, and there's an empty long bar under the size column beside the Utilities folder, even though the  items in each sub folder have a size reading.   There's a size reading in the HD 2 where I had moved it to.  There are probably other things I have now messed up. Also, when I tried backing up the computer from the time capsule to predate the changes, I got a case sensitive error and it won't restore...what have I done???

Can't connect to Sonos now that I've switch Time Capsule from Bridge Mode to DHCP and NAT.
There was a reason why AirPort Utility either configured the Time Capsule in Bridge Mode automatically, or told you to set up the Time Capsule in Bridge Mode.
Bridge Mode is the correct setting for the Time Capsule on your network.
If you want to run the Time Capsule in DHCP and NAT router mode, then your Comcast modem/router must then be configured to act as if it were a simple bridge mode modem.  Whether that is even possible is a question for the support folks at your ISP, since providers in general seem to be locking down the settings on the devices that they provide to prevent users from changing the basic operation of the device.  ISPs do this to make things simpler for the their support folks, as you might imagine.
The simplest and best option......if possible......would be to swap the current modem/router for a simple bridge mode modem.......the kind of device that will have only one Ethernet port.
The worst option......Double NAT.....is in my opinion not worth fooling with, since it can cause unpredictable things to occur on your network. Sure, some users can get away this setting.....on a very simple home network.....but yours does not meet this qualification.
Strangely, we have seen some posts from users who claim to have been told by Apple Support to "ignore" a Double NAT error. That is hard to believe.

  • Time Capsule: Conflicting Info

    Hi there,
I recently bought a new 4th Gen 3 TB Time Capsule to replace my 1st Gen Time Capsule with a 1.5 TB disk - I upgraded the disk myself a while ago.
Following Pondini's excellent information on Time Capsule, I transferred the sparse bundles over (I have an iMac and MacBook Pro with their own sparse bundles) and made the necessary associations via Terminal.
Everything worked perfectly…except, for some reason the Time Capsule information that appears on my iMac's desktop still shows the old 1.5 TB disk showing 158 GB free...
...while in Time Machine Preferences the recognised disk is the new 3 TB Time Capsule disk with 1.59 TB free. The same info appears on my iMac (using Ethernet) and MacBook Pro (wireless).
    Huh?
I've been into my iMac's Library and deleted all the Time Capsule associated  .plist files (3 in total): is there something I'm missing?
Sounds a bit fussy I know, but I'd really like to get the right info appearing on my desktop.
    Thanks in advance.
    Michael

    Hi Pondini,
Apologies for the time it's taken to get back…Christmas and a slipped disk have made following this up pretty difficult.
Okay, I followed all the instructions in #A8  and followed all the steps in the yellow box on my iMac. It's when I get to steps 5 and 6 that things get a little difficult.
After mounting the the sparsebundle and clicking the partition tab, I get the following (see screenshot):
As you an see, the handle is already at the maximum 1.5 TBs (the size of my old TC disk) so it can't be dragged any further. So, I typed 3.0 in the Size box and then hit the Apply button.
After a half hour or so, I ended up with the error below; it also crashed Disk Utility and I had to Force Quit:
On my MacBook Pro, when I mounted the sparse bundle and hit the Partition tab, I got the same screenshot.
Annoyingly, the Data folder holding both iMac an MacBook Pro sparsebundles shows the correct disk size as does the TC Preferences.
I hope this is enough information. Let me know if you need any more.
    TIA
    Michael

  • Time Capsule update makes me input IP/Secret info

I updated the firmware on my Time Capsule, and it shows an error that my Apple ID is incorrect. This is true because I originally used the Time Capsule and Back to my Mac with MobileMe, which iCloud with your Apple ID has superseded. I tried to change my Apple ID, but when it tells me it needs to update that upon closing the AirPort Utility, it says "IP cannot be left blank" and forces me to input my "Primary RADIUS Server IP" and "Primary Shared Secret." I don't know what these are or why it's making me do this. Help?

I recently applied the Time Capsule Update. It backs up 3 computers. It is a 2T Time Capsule.
When I did that from Mac A (a core duo), it told me that the backup it had would need to be replaced by a new backup. And then it put a lock on the backup file. So now I am making that new backup for Mac A.
What about Mac B and Mac C. (Both core 2 duo) They continue to back up to the Time Capsule. Do I need to create a new backup for them even though I received no message indicating that?
Did Software Update on those Macs show the Update? If so, download and apply it, and see what happens.
If I don't create new backups for Mac B and Mac C, do I know if the backups are OK?
If Software update doesn't show the update for those Macs, it's apparently not needed.
What is the reason for the new backup? I have looked on the support pages, but cannot find any info about this.
Yes, this is new and nobody's been able to figure out just what it's all about. Some folks who don't even have Time Capsules have gotten the update. Some get and apply the update, but don't see the message.
We don't really know if the update is being applied to the Time Capsule itself, or to OSX on Macs that have, or back up to, Time Capsules.
So, see what Software Update shows for your other Macs, and let us know. That may give us a clue. By the way, are they all running 10.6.2?

  • How do I transfer info from my old time capsule to a new one

How do I transfer all data from my old time capsule to a new? (latest model)

Are you talking about TM backups??
I would consider carefully if it is not better to start over.. TM becomes more problematic as the backups increase in age.. you can archive off the backups from the old TC if you need to store them.
    Transfer TM backups..

For data .. copy and paste.. but make sure you turn off wireless and use ethernet as it must copy files via the computer.. by wireless this is dead slow.

  • Time capsule flashes amber before setup, when I input the network info it keeps saying "an unexpected error occured, please try again". Already tried 10 times, even resetting, same thing keeps happening... What to do?

When I open my airport utility it detects the time capsule, but when I set everything up (name, choose the internet connection, etc) it takes a minutes, says waiting for time capsule... And then "an unexpected error occured, please try again". I tried 10 times, the same thing keeps happening... On top of that the orange light keeps blinking as soon as i turn it on. Tried to reset it also. Doesn't change a thing...

Sorry you have had such a bad first impression..
Is the ipv6 turned on? This was an after thought as they seem to have released both firmware and utility and woken up after the event to the fact they actually needed ipv6 on to manage it.

Otherwise I don't see what you are using to connect to the TC from the iMac.. is it wired or wireless??
Can I suggest you do the setup again.
This time use ethernet to the TC.. in full isolation from the network. And do the setup manually.
You may need to factory reset again.. sorry about that .. and start over.. only the Mac plugged into the TC.. nothing else.
You may need further help just post where you get up to and we can sort out what is happening from there.
This often works easier at the start from the airport utility in iphone or ipad if you have one.

  • Can I use apple TV on home network with time capsule or Airport Xtreme without being connected to the internet?

I'm wondering if I can use Apple TV to play movies and slide shows on my TV, play music over my sound system and print from my devices (Iphone 4S, iPad and MacBook pro 2011) by using an Airport Xtreme or Time Capsule (to back up the devices) if those devices are not connected to the internet. Can anyone advise pls? Reason for this is that I work on a moving ship and don't have an internet connection to speak of for much of the time (and if I do it's a wireless system that I need to pay by the minute and that is too slow to support the Apple TV), but would all the same like to create a wireless environment where my devices can interact with each other. I seem to get conficting info and a rep at the apple store in Honolulu told me that you cannot use Airport Xtreme or Time Capsule without an internet connection (it was busy, he may have misunderstood my question).
    Looking forward to your input.

Don't try to home share it.. as that is dependent on using Apple ID.
Just airplay to the ATV.. iTunes: Using AirPlay
The movie should play exactly as your doing music.. but get rid of the whole home share if that is causing issues.. there is no mention of needing home share in the above..
If you still have issues you might need to do it other ways.. like export the movie from itunes.. and play it using vlc which should allow you to stream it to the apple TV using airplay.
That is a bit tricky and I have not used that setup but it should work.
    http://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/23412/can-i-stream-any-video-played-wit h-vlc-player-to-apple-tv
If you have a hunt around you should find it fairly easy to do.. but straight airplay should work.. there is a very recent update to ATV which might help it with airplay.
