Time Capsule not backing up - but not getting any messages of failure

Hello, I have had my Time Capsule installed successfully for about 5 months. Two weeks ago, it apparently stopped backing up. I was regularly seeing the hard drive icon appear on my desktop and the spinning icon in the top right hand menu bar, so I was assuming all was well. But recently something else cause me to open time machine to look for a file to restore and I found that Time Capsule hadn't backed anything up recently!
I received no messages, got no failure notices - nothing!
Now, when the icon appears, I have checked on the status and right now it says "Indexing backup." I don't know what stage it stops, because the icon just quietly disappears.
What should I do?

A clue may be lurking in your logs. See #A1 in [Time Machine - troubleshooting|http://web.me.com/pondini/Time_Machine/Troubleshooting.html] (or use the link in *User Tips* at the top of the +Time Machine+ forum), for a handy widget that will display the backup messages from your logs.
If that shows errors, see #C2 there.
If it doesn't, but shows very small amounts of data copied, see #D5 there.

Clean iPhone charging port with clean dry toothbrush. See if better. If still problem clean charging port again with toothbrush and small amount of Isopropyl Alcohol.

Try to trace at ICM level, Go to smicm transaction
Set level to 3.
Later send your request. Finally trace the request in:
When you have seen the log, check if any exception is raised with your request or the request and share it here.

Airport time capsule not found error message

HI,
My time capsule is blinking orange.
I open aiport, sometimes airport finds the TC, sometimes not.
When not, get message:
"airport time capsule not found"
When TC is found, aiport utitily shows an error with the extended network I am setting up. I press 'edit', the settings all seem good. Re-type passwords etc and update.
The problem remains.
I have updated the firmware. An apple shop near me has reset TC using the recessed button on back of TC, and then I have re-configured at home.
BTW, TC was working fine in my old house with same laptop, so prob not simply a basic user issue...
4 other devices on my wifi network all have reliable connection, visitors' phones and laptops too, so shouln't be a wifi netowrk issue, ie network outside TC.
Any thoughts out there?

OK.. I failed to ask enough questions.. I think your comment it all used to work threw me.
1. You are trying to extend wireless network of what router. This will only work with another Apple router.. the way apple built it is in the family only. So please spell out what is the primary router??
If you did have it working to extend the wireless of a non-apple router in your previous house I simply don't know how.. according to Apple it isn't possible. You can use WDS.. that is slow and reduces everything to G wireless.. that is the only way.
2. When you say in the first post..
4 other devices on my wifi network all have reliable connection, visitors' phones and laptops too, so shouln't be a wifi netowrk issue, ie network outside TC.
I presume if you turn off the TC, these devices still have wireless network because they are connected to the primary router.. not the TC.. again my bad reading.. I assumed they are connected to the TC.
So please spell out the whole network..
Broadband modem.. type, model, make.
Main router.. type model make
Any other network devices.
And how was it setup in your old place and how is it different now.

Not getting any messages at console (Developer studio)

hi all,
I am doing a web application project.
Here i created a java bean class for the database connections etc..
I created WAR file and EAR files also. Deploy to J2EE Engine is successful.
I created jsp file as front end to insert the values into the Database. When i'm running the web page i didn't get any messages (System.out.println()) in the console.
How can i start the server in the Developer studio?
Please guide the steps....

Hi,
As far as i know when u deploy your ear in the J2EE engine it will be available.. You dont have to start any server.
IF u have a JNDI name you can direct lookup the bean.
And about system.out.println we cant see the ouput in webpage ! Try response.getWriter().println()......
Elobarate on ur scenario .. and it will be easier to help !

Time Capsule "not getting IP Address"

I am a comcast internet customer and I have the RCA cable modem. My network has been up and running fine on a Linksys54g for a year or two.
I disconnected it today, and I plugged in my time capsule (exactly following the instructions. My powerbook pro can connect to the Time Capsule, but I am getting the following message when usng DHCP:
1. Internet Connection - Your Apple wireless device does not have a valid IP. Make sure Apple wireless device is....
When I set up a static address to try to get around this problem, i get two new errors:
1. This Apple wireless device doesn't have any DNS server addresses and might have trouble connecting the the Internet.
2. The value for "Router Address" is invalid
Has anyone seen anything like this? It is very perplexing. I followed instructions very closely. I have restarted both the RCA device and the time capsule...I have pushed the reset buttons (etc).

Yet another Comcast customer with a new Time Capsule running the latest software who suddenly, as of two days ago, cannot get Internet access through TC. IT's been running smoothly for almost two months, and then it got very hinky this week--for some reason it cannot read/translate the IP address coming from the Comcast cable Motorola box (it shows up as a 169 IP in the Airport settings.) So I cannot use the TC for the home network or Internet access. However, if I bypass it and plug the ethernet cable directly from the cable modem box into my computer I get Internet access.
So...Comcast continues to send me access, but as of two days ago my TC cannot read/translate it. Anyone have thoughts on the source of the problem? I've tried all the standard troubleshooting methods of resetting etc.

Time capsule not getting power

The power cable for my time capsule was recently chewed through, and the replacement cable I bought doesn't seem to be getting power. The time capsule dosen't light up at all. Does anyone have any ideas to help me?

When you say that you bought a replacement power cable, was this an exact Apple replacement or another power cord that looked similar? The plug on the Apple cord fits deeply into the socket and some replacement cords from Radio Shack, etc that I've seen won't work as well, or won't work.
If you have an Apple store in the area, I would suggest taking it in so they can check the device for you.

"I do not get any message or option to add exception" - Using Self signed cert -Images does not load

Wr are have two web servers one for app and another for loading images. Both are behind Kemp Load balancer and are using self signed certs from the load balancer. The images does not load when using Firefox 3.x. I load with IE and Firefox 2.x. With firefox 3.x it does not give a message to "add exception". I only get one certificate message to add exception for the app server. I do not get the certificate message or pop up for the imaging server with Firefox 3.x.

You have a lot of information in packed in the "More system details..." (in the right-hand column), where it looks like you found a solution. If not take a look at "Problematic Extensions" the AVG Free installation of their "'''AVG Free Search'''" can cause such problems. Directions to fix that are specific and involve reinstalling AVG Free without the Link Scanner component.

JDBC sender adapter can not get any message

I have a problem with my JDBC Sender which reads data from a SQL Server. Previously it was working fine but It is not Picking the records from the JDBC table.
I have checked in RWB communication Channel monitoring there no any error or success messages but channel is showing healthy status only(Green).
User's authorization and SQL statement is all right. I checked the SQL in the DB and there are some messages that should be processed.
I also inactive and active the Comunication Channel.
I also checked the LOCKING ADAPTER in Visual Administration is nothing.
BUT the same configuration in DEV system are work perfectly.
I don't want to restart XI,because is PRD system.

1 ) What is exact audit log message ?
2) Try fetching the count in SQL statement if there are any valid records it will give the count.
May for testing you can use <TEST> in update statement.
3) Have you used taskTimeout parameter ?
4) Are multiple channels polling on same table ?

1. will there be a message which will be automatically sent to my inbox ?
2 if not then what i have to do to send a message to the inbox of any one whose initiating that workflow through function module

Hi,
if you want a work item to appear in a users inbox (message) then you will have to create a step in the workflow you trigger that does this.
I guess the develoment steps are as follows.
1) Create an rfc enabled fm in se37. In this fm you need to publish the event that you use to start your WF. This can be done by using fm SWE_EVENT_CREATE . You will need the object type, the key and the event name.
2) Configure a workflow with the steps you want to execute and subscribe it to the event your using. (SWE2 or the event linkage in the workflow template tc pftc).
These are the basic steps you will have to execute.

I have gone into Mac Help and followed this down to stage 4:
under shared it lists my time capsule and my husband's iMac - both use the time machine but we have switched his off temporarily. Clicking on my Time capsule I get "Connected" and "Sharepoint" - I didn't have to enter connect or password
I don't understand stage 5: how and where do I select the disk or volume that contains Time Machine backups ? How do I know which it is? My disk utility lists 160.04 TOSHIBA MK... with sub-heading Macintosh HD. It also lists (with a "CD" icon) HL-DT-ST DVDRW GS22N
Under stage 6, how and where do I Locate your backup ? I try dragging my Time capsule from Finder to the Disk Utility side panel but it won't go. What is my computer's name?
Please someone help! I'm completely stumped.

Is this the only backup file on your Mac, or do you have other backup files and data on the Time Capsule disk?

Yes, you can. Simply plug the TC via Ethernet into the current router and set it up in bridge mode.
