Time & Date Stamping

I recently made the move from film/video production to Legal Video. Pa(and most other states) requires date and time stamping to be visible on screen at all times. I am using a JVC gy DV500, and unfortunately it will not stamp it for me(visibly during playback). My analogue record source will, but it's not a quality I can give the client considering my hourly rate. Haven't found any info for Premiere CS3(checked user guide, forums(briefly), and web).
I found a stand alone program posted in Wiki, but I am hesitant to D/L not being 100% on the source. Aside from creating a new title for every second of the Depositions(tedious). I'm sure there has to be a better way.
Please help!!!
All feedback appreciated, but constructive feedback is prefered.
Thanks- Erik

jim-
thanks for the feedback. i did go through the jvc user manual for info on how to superimpose the info on the screen(as this option is generally one i wouldn't want to use). It will generate the date & time, also Time Code only viewable on the player device's display. Maybe i'm overlooking something(most likely the case).
"If the video can be viewed in any way without it, or if it has to be added later, some jurisdictions will not allow it to be used."
-good point, and PA already has so many restrictions, and protocall. i guess i'm going to have to consult one of my clients on that matter(at the risk of looking unprofessional). If i am going to do the stamping in post i still need a proper way to do it in AP-CS3 aside from creating a separate title for each second(10800 per hr.. tedious).
Thank you for the feedback!!! much appreciated!!

  • How do I add time/date stamp to my screen capture file names?

    I'm on mac osx.
I'm trying to add time/date stamp to my screen capture file names. (at the moment it's just 'Picture 1' etc..)
I've tried the following command  in terminal but have not had success. please help!!
defaults write com.apple.screencapture name "datestamp" at "timestamp"
    killall SystemUIServer

Surely someone else will provide a better solution. Meanwhile, however, you might want to try the following script. Copy and paste the script into the AppleScript Editor's window and save it as an application. Then drop your screen capture files on the droplet's Finder icon.
    on open theDroppedFiles
        tell application "Finder"
            repeat with thisFile in theDroppedFiles
set theFileName to name of thisFile
if (word 1 of theFileName is "Picture") and ¬
(word 2 of theFileName = word -2 of theFileName) then
set theExtension to name extension of thisFile
set P to offset of theExtension in theFileName
set theCreationDate to creation date of thisFile
set dateStamp to short date string of theCreationDate
set timeStamp to time string of theCreationDate
set name of thisFile to "Screen Shot " & dateStamp ¬
                        & " at " & timeStamp & "." & theExtension
                end if
            end repeat
        end tell
    end open

  • How can i put a time/date stamp in Apple contacts, "Note"

how can i automatically put a time/date stamp in Apple contacts, "Note"
ei , when i enter a new note to a contact. I want the time and date to automatically show at each note.

This is not a feature in Contacts. I suggest you send Apple feedback to let them know you would like to see this option.

You can easily add the date stamp using an app like TextExpander.

  • Adding time/date stamp

    Hello,
I have several MPEG2 clips I'd like to add a running time/date stamp to.  Can I do this with Premiere Elements?
    Thanks

Hm-m, not sure what to suggest, if DVDate will not work for you.
When I need the TimeCode displayed, I use PrPro, or After Effects, as each has a very good TimeCode Effect.
Maybe others will have some specific input for PrE.
Sorry that did not work for you.
    Good luck,

  • Time & Date Stamp in a presentation / SWF files to add to presentation

I need to display time & date stamp to a presentation. I were trying to use a SWF object, is there a simpler way?

    Welcome to the discussions, msaiz.
If you have Apple's developer tools installed, you could use Quartz Composer to do the effect and a lot easier than Flash (not saying it's easy, just easier than Flash)

  • Sms/imessage entries missing time/date stamp

I just upgraded to IOS7.  I could not find a way to show the time/date stamp of a text.  This I used quite often... for example, if my husband texts me to say he is on his way home, I could look at the time stamp to see how many minutes ago that was.  Is there a way to put the time stamp back on the texts like it was in all the previous versions?
UPDATE:  The time/date stamp is there, but the frequency that it puts a new time/date stamp must be fairly long.  I had a text started with my husband at 4:55.  At 5:32 (looking at the time stamp that shows up on my iMac that shows same texts my iPhone does) another text was made.  The only way I can tell when the very absolute LAST text was written on my iPhone is to back out to the menu of all my contact listings I have message conversations with.  There it shows when last text was sent... 6:20.  That is Almost 50 minutes later than the last text, it is almost an hour and a half since the initial text. But, yet all under same text date stamp of 4:55
    EXPLAINED A DIFFERENT WAY:
    4:55 first text
    5:32 additional text
    6:20 next text
Only time stamp shown on my iphone is the 4:55, all these texts are under the same time/date stamp.  My iMac mirrors the same texts and shows all three incremental time stamps.  That is how my phone used to be.  How do I get it back?

You should tap you scren and move like you want to move the full scren to the left! A column will appear!
PS: What I think is that @Apple should urgently think more about UX and UI this new IOs7 is amde for pro. UN-HAPPY

  • Time-Date Stamp anywhere in Apple's future?

Does anyone know, if Apple plans to include any kind of Time-DateStamp with up-coming phones?
I'm talking about Native, On-Board, Manual capabilities.  I'm still enjoying my 4S..but really detest the 3rdParty Apps
    designed for this purpose.

Apple has not stated what their plans are.
Time-Date stamp for what? Do you mean Photos? You want the Time/Date put onto the photo itself?
All app data has a time/date (and in some cases, where) it was created.

  • SAP WM 6.1 : Barcode Scanning Time&Date stamp capture

    Hi Experts,
Our client have new requirement: we enable the Barcode scanning functionality for Functional Location in Notification screen, when user scan the functional location we need capture the time & date stamp also.   I am able to capture the functional location but not able to capture the date&time stamp of barcode scanning.
can any body guide me how to capture the date&time stamp during scanning.
    Thanks
    Chigari

    Chigari,
How you accomplish this will depend on where exactly you are scanning.
If you are on a transaction screen you can simply add an additional property to the transaction to store the current date and time.
If you are scanning to a list screen then you can look at adding / updating the single match action and no match actions to add in a transaction to store the timestamp.

  • Re: removal of time/date stamp

How do I remove the time/date stamp from photos in iphoto?

Where is the time/date stamp? If it is in the EXIF data then you can not remove it but cna modify it - select the photo and use the adjust time/date command under the photos menu
If it is on the photo then it is a part of the picture and can only be removed by editing - retouch or clone tool - you need to turn that feature of the camera off so it will stop putting the information on teh photo

How do you time/date stamp photos in Iphoto 9, Version 8.1.2?

If the photos were taken with a digital camera they already dated and time stamped. Select a photo and click in the "i" button in the lower left hand corner of the window:
There you will see the date and time the photo was taken.

  • Time date stamp ?

When making a video has anyone experienced trouble with the time and date on the time line being different fro the original clip ?
i have to be sure the video displays the correct time and date for legal cases. I am considering purchasing the program and swithching from iMovie and final cut pro beacause the will not display the correct time and date without having to minipulate each clip.
    Thank you

Premiere Pro does not have time date stamp functionality. FYI, you can download the Premiere Pro CC trial to try out for free. https://creative.adobe.com/products/premiere

  • AVCHD [.m2ts/.mts files] - Time date stamp ??

Yet to purchase Premiere Pro, but will if it can serve this relatively simply purpose ....
Can this progam embed/burn-in (or otherwise) a time date stamp from metadata onto 'video fames' whilst the video remains in native format (ie NOT converting to .AVI or .WMP or any other file type)
Can anyone provide feedabck as to whether this is possible ...... either with this or any other product??
    Many thanks
    Gavin

whilst the video remains in native format
If you mean that the date stamp is performed directly on the encoded/compressed frame data (i.e. without decoding), then no. Date stamping just like any other kind of effect applied to the video frames needs the encoded data to be decoded to uncompressed video frames - then the effect is added to the uncompressed frames in memory. At this point you have completely left the original encoded format behind, so the output frames could simply be left as uncompressed frames, or compressed again using pretty much any compression format you like - it doesn't have to be the same compression format as the original file.
Is there a particular reason why you want the output to have the same compression and file format as the input file?

  • Missing time/date stamp

I imported footage from my Sony DCR-HC32 mini-DV into imovie (4.0.1) to edit and when I "shared" it back to my camera the time/date stamp was no longer showing. Just the dash lines at the bottom right corner of my LCD screen. I have done this procedure on many occasions and the stamp is always included. Does anyone know what happened and how can I fix it? I need the time code to appear on my final tape. FYI the clip still shows the date/time when it's clicked on.
    Thanks.

  • Time & Date Stamp when sent

I would like to create a function that would time & date stamp my form at the time it's being sent.  I have a button designed to e-mail the PDF to a specific e-mail inbox.  Is there a way to time & date stamp this form at the time the individual presses the Send button on the form?

So you woudl hide the submit button that you are using to send the email (I will call this Submit). Then I woudl place a regular button onto the form and name it appropraitely for the user to understand that this is th esubmit button that they should press. There are functions in both Javascrip and formcalc that will return to you the current date and time (you can ask for whatever format you want). So your buttons click event will call those functions, place the results in the field that you want to hold them then hit the hidden submt button by using this code:
    hidden button name.execEvent("click");
    Hope that helps

  • I keep losing the time date stamp when uploading the video and need to keep it HELP

Using Premier 7 making a video for my son and need to keep the time/date stamp that is visible when playing the video direct from the camera to the tv. When I compile the video and burn to DVD this Stamp disappears how do keep it on the film that I am editing so when I burn it will be still there?

Ah, PrElements 7. I thought that you had Pr 7.0, which was also named PrPro 1.0.
The forum that you want is HERE.
Now, in PrE's forum, look for the FAQ section, to the right of the main page. Steve Grisetti has done a few FAQ's on HDD cameras, and their MPEG files.
As for your Date/Time stamp, I am not sure if any of the DVDate programs will work directly with that. There are a few threads, but I do not recall the solutions. Do a search of that forum and you will get some info.
Back in later versions of PrPro, I have some tips on TimeCode, but that is different than what you want.
I also do not know if something like SceneAlyzer Live can Capture what you want.
Still, others have asked in the PrE forum, so there might be some solutions.
    See you there,
    Hunt

  • DV Time/Date Stamp Show in Video Playback PE8

I need to be able to display the Date/Time code information in my videos.
I've found these two programs that claim to do that...
    DVdate
    http://paul.glagla.free.fr/dvdate_en.htm
    DV Date
    http://dvdate.ru/en/dvrecdate.html
...but I was hoping that PE8 would have that capability built in. Does it?
If not, what are my best options?

    DC
The regular DV Date program never claimed to supply the DV Time/Date Stamp. It was the DV Date plug-in for Premiere and Premiere Elements that will do the job for Premiere Elements 7.0, but NOT for Premiere Elements 8.0/8.0.1.
    The two different programs are:
    "DVdate
    http://paul.glagla.free.fr/dvdate_en.htm"
    Never.
    "DV Date
    http://dvdate.ru/en/dvrecdate.html"
For Premiere Elements 7.0, but has serious problems with Premiere Elements 8.0/8.0.1.
Someone at a forum that I frequent not so long ago mentioned the basic free version DVMP http://www.dvmp.co.uk/dv-media-player.htm in this regard. I have not tried it, but it looks specific for DV AVI type 1 or 2 video. The more advanced form (with price tag) may have greater format support??
