Time delay with video cht

when I video chat with other apple users there is a time delay of 3 minutes. I can hear them speak, but it's not coordinated with their mouths. They say they get a 2 second delay. I use comcast & wonder if the problem lies there. They all have Mac OS 10.5.4 also. I also use time Capsule & wonder if that could be part of the problem.

i have a very similar problem with my ichat. it just started this year. The other user sees me fine, but i see them with a delay that seems to get bigger and bigger as the chat gets longer. I have tried wirelessly connecting to my airport extreme as well as hard wiring and it didnt change anything. i set the bandwith limit to 500 and the streaming speed to 1.5 mbps. i have comcast cable internet with a download speed of about 800 kb/s-1 mb/s, so i dont kno what to tell you. Maybe you have an obsolete computer. I have a suspicion that mine are messed up because i am on a power pc g5 and my friends or all on intels but who knows.

Ending time delay with stop button

I am trying to create a stop button to control multiple vi's at once. A problem is that my subvi has a time delay. To solve that problem the time delay is divided into multiple time delays so that I can interrupt it with a stop button.I am building off of Al S's example on the forums found here. I tried adding a global variable but it is not working.

I wanted to thank everyone for their incouragement to learn notifiers. So I finally did and notifier were the solution I was looking for. I found help from DianeS with her 1st post here and from WayneS1234 with their 1st post here.
I am posting my code to show what I learned. I think it might help someone else. Note that this is like a block diagram with working notifiers of my larger project that I am working on.

Can you create a time delay with AS3?

Is there some simple ActionScript 3 code which would cause a delay in the timeline when it's encountered?
Say, for example, we hit Frame 50. Is there code I can place there that would make the timeline "stop" for a specified amount of time?

Sometimes there just isn't enough time to learn something as complex as ActionScript. I'm currently juggling Flash, Dreamweaver, CSS, video editing, After Effects, Soundbooth, Cinema 4D, broadcast video etc. etc. I wish Flash would automate at least some of this stuff like they did before with Behaviors.

I have an artist friend who would like to set up a video feed in a gallery. The video camera would shoot one section of the installation. In a seperate room, a projector would present that live feed on the wall.
However, he would like the projected image to be on a 45-sec delay.
Is there a way, in Final Cut Pro (or any other piece of software/plug-in), to do this?

It does have component, svideo, and composite output - you'd have to work with your projector from there, but if your projector would accept input from FCP or a camera, it'd accept input from a TiVo.

Delay with video

on the ipod when i watch a video, after about a min it hangs then no sound, if i jump frames the sound come back for a min then goes away, after playing with it like that for 10-15 minutes it usually fixes itself, what is the problem? how do i fix it?

Just got motorola s9, is time delay normal for bluetooth headsets?

As title says I just got a s9 headset and am very surprised by how good they sound with music ( haven't tried a call yet, I understand call quality *** ). Anyway I'm really noticing how bad the time delay is with these, they are completely useless for watching video and also playing tap tap revenge as the sound is a good second behind whats happening onscreen. Is this just the s9 or is this delay normal with bluetooth headsets?

There is a slight time delay with any Bluetooth headset that I have ever used for music, and yes it is useless for watching movies or playing games.
To play devils advocate I think if you are able to watching a movie or playing games, then you should also having no problem using wired headphones.

Abort time delay

I have encountered an issue I was hoping I could recieve some input on. In my VI that I am creating, we have a series of valve opening and closing followed by time delays to allow for a reaction to occur. However, in terms of saftey while these reactions are going on there is a risk of pressure build up. I want to be able to abort the time delay early when the high pressure alarm is triggered. From here the program would ideally enter a "shutdown" mode to diffuse the pressure build up. Someone had propsed the solution of elapsed time delays with many small ones but I would like to avoid that if possible.

there are many ways to do this...without your vi it is a guess on what would help you. also, i like to use notifiers.as Dennis has said,"Neither the Time Delay or Wait (ms) can be aborted". here's an example of a simple state machine:

LR5 crashes each time I open a folder with video

The title sums it up.
I have a Fujifilm HS20EXR folder which contains video.
Each time I select the folder, LR5 (Mac ML) crashes.

FYI It is not only the Mac version of LR5 that is having issues with videos.
On Windows, there is an issue with 100% CPU and long delay of showing videos in Library mode.
Whether the problems are related is unknown to me.

You need to help us first ...
Computer specs:
OS, CPU, RAM, GPU, vRAM ... and also disc layout & connections can be useful (as in, "2 internal hard-drives and an external on Thunderbolt connection for exports")
Program specs:
Specific build of Premier Pro from the bottom of the "About" splash screen off the "Help" menu is best.
Footage file type: MXF, AVCHD, MOV, m2s, what?
Even the camera it was shot on can be of interest at times.
And did you use media browser to import, then project panel to drag & drop?

Ichat Video Quality pixelated and very delayed with friend on a Dell

I am on a Imac and have Airport express, but when I chat with my friend on a Dell, my video is pixelated and delayed. I talk with other friends on PC's and the quality is fine.

Add me to this problem. My powerbook G4 (10.4.10) can initiate with a mini G4 with isight (10.5.2) and be perfect in sync with video and audio. But if the mini initiates the chat a very long delay happens between voice and video. I also have an Ibook with 10.4.11 and when chatting with PB G4 are perfect, this applies to an intel imac with 10.5 only, ichat works fine. I think Ichat got affected with 10.5.1 or 10.5.2. I did noticed that if I open QT pro and make a recording(on mini), the actual caption is delayed but play back is ok. I have been playing with the QT preferences but does not seem to work. I saw there is a new update 10.5.3, and it includes so ichats update. Will keep posting. Pedro PS this is all in my home network. TWCNYC with 9600 kbps download and 488 kbps upload.

I cannot open your VIs. It appears that the language differences may be an issue. LabVIEW does not recognize them as valid LV files.
Generally when a VI runs correctly with Highlight Execution on and does not run correctly with it off, it is an indication that there are timing issues in the VI.
If you are reconfiguring the serial ports in the 54 module version, you may not be allowing enough time for port to get set up before attempting to communicate. Do you have 54 different serial ports? What kind of hardware are you using for the ports?

Captivate created file playing with time delay

I have an issue with some machines in the Company where Adobe Captivate files are not playing as created via Flash Player ie where a slide should move onto another slide after a 3 seconds interval , this interval takes over 15 seconds.
I am not getting any error messages and the files play as required but with the serious time delay between slides.
The files created from Captivate are exe files.
The strange thing is that this issue only occurs in some machines in the Company and I am unable to determine a pattern as to this issue.
I have updated the Codec driver and the Graphic drivers on the affected machine but did not solve the issue.
I have tested an affected file on 2 of the same model machines (HP Desktop machines) both running Windows XP SP3 with Adobe Flash Player 10.3 and IE8.0 .
The file played successfully on one of the machines but on the other machine there was a 10 second time lag between slides.
I have checked Task Manager and the process is only using 2-3% of the CPU so the machine has enough CPU to run the file .
I updated to Flash 11.1 on one of the machines and IE 9 but still encountered the same issue.
I have disabled the Anti Virus software (McAfee) while testing on one of the affected machines and this did not solve the issue.
All Machines have the latest approved Microsoft updates installed as required.
The files are created using Adobe Captivate 3 and are stored locally on the affected machines
The files created were created in captivate with a standard 30 fps option
Can you please advise on this issue

As I understand things, when you launch an EXE file created by Captivate, it decompresses and temporarily installs a runtime version of the Flash Player. So I'm wondering if perhaps on these machines where the delay is occurring, if it would help to perform the following steps:
1. Clear all temporary files
2. Perform a defragmentation of the hard drive
I'd try step one first and see if anything improves. Perhaps that's all that is needed. The second step is simply a good habit to get into.

Dv video time stamp with analog input

Hi,
I have a dv video which I want to time stamp with a analog input. For the video, which is dv brought into the computer with ieee1394, LabView calls up a C++ program which then stores the video. Simultaneously, in the program which calls up the C++, an analog signal is also stored (seperately). I know it sounds tricky as well as messy but this is the best we've been able to work out, given the uncorroperative nature of LabView with dv camera. Does anyone have suggections for time stamping these two signals so that I know exactly where in the video the analog signal occurs? The PCI board we use is the NI 6014, which I know is timestamp capable, but I dont know if it can stamp the video feed since it doesnt come in through the NI card.

Does your DV camera have any sort of timing or triggering signals? Without these, it will be virtually impossible to correlate measurements. It is cetainly possible to accurately time an analog input with your DAQ card, but correlating these to the digital video would be extremely difficult. Is this video streaming in real time? Or are you reading it off of an already-recorded tape? If this video is streaming in real time, with an acquisition started in software, I would suggest attempting to start the software DV reading at the same time as your DAQ task. If you do have an external signal that can trigger the video acquisition, then I would suggest using that same signal to start your analog acquisition.
