Time dependent Hirerachy data not display at query level

Hi all,
I have loaded a time dependent hirerachy from flatfile,it showing same data as in flat file at RSMO,where as if I am executing query ,report displaying in hirerachy structure format,but DATE-TO and DATE-FROM are not displaying .
Ex:On ZEMPLYOE i have created ZMANAGER as hirerachy,report giving ZMANAGER&ZEMPLOYEE details correctly in hirerachical format,but Date-to and Date-from are not displaying at report level,where as entair data is loaded to ZEMPLOYE without any error.
If any one has come across the same situation,what are additional steps need to have take.
your help will be appreciated

Yes, date-from and date-to are not meant to be displayed in the report.
Let me take an example to tell the purpose.
Suppose your hierarchy displays employees managerwise.
If you create hierarchy telling
from 01-01-2009 to 31-03-2009, employee E1 will report to Manager M1
from 01-04-2009 to 31-05-2009 , E1 will report to M2.
then, until March, E1 will be displayed under M1 node in the report, and in April and May, he will be displayed under M2 node.
So, we create hierarchy only once, but they change in the report depending on the month.

i hv executed a query which hs costlement,costcenter,profitcenter as master data, these master datas show complete data when I c their contents individually thru maintain Master data,, but in query the data is shown only for a few records, i.e ex I hv 1000 costelements in Master,,but in query I just c around 700 and their corresponding Transaction data. Is it something like Only Records which hv Transaction data are shown up,, and other s not displayed,??,,Pleas advice

Hello,
If you load master data, then SIDs are generated for the same. Now when you laod transaction data and ur DTP has setting load data even if no master data exists, then even if there is no master data it will update the master data and correspondig SIDs will be generated.
So generally, SIDs are generated for all the active master data but only the data that is present in the cube or DSO is displayed.

Customer number is not displayed at Query

Hi to all,
I have created a query where i need to display the Receivables aging Report.
when i check data at Cube level data is coming properly for Every Customer.
but when i filter customer at Query level data is not displayed at query level.
Please can any one provide me solution.

Time-dependent master data in the cube and query

Hello,
I have a time-dep. masterdata infoobject with two time-dep attributes (one of them is KF). If i add this infoobject into the cube, what time period SID will be considered during the load? I assume it only matters during load, if i add the KF to the query it gets its value based on the SID in the cube.. right?

If its Time Dependent Master Data object when you run your Master Data if that time any changes to the Master Data that value will be overwrite to the old value you will get the new value. When you run the Query execution the Infocube Master Data infoobject will having the SID that time it will to there it will be displayed at that moved what is the value you have in the Master Data table.
This is what my experience.

Data not uploading in Time dependent Master data Infoobject

I have a master data infoobject for HR entity and have to load data from PSA to that info object.
The HR entity infoobject already have sone data like below:

Once I loaded this data to the infoobject, i can not see this value which is the latest value of this HR entity.
Can somebody please explain how the data gets loaded in the time dependent master data infoobject and why this entry is not getting loaded in the info object.

did you activate master data after your load?
You can check also version 'M' records and see if your record is there.
The load went green?
The problem is, that your entry overlaps all exisitng time intervals, which can't be deleted or merged as there may be dependent transactional data. You have first to delete the transactional data for this entity.
Then you can delete the time-dependent data and reoload it from your PSA.
BW will build then correct time intervals.
The easiest is to change the time interval in PSA, see example below:
At the moment the time interval is not accepted. But you can add time intervalls before 31.12.2011 and after 01.07.2013, Then system will create remaiing time intervals, e.g. your new record is:

Reporting on Time Dependent Master Date Info Provider

Dear All.
We have a info object Employee which is time dependent master data containing all the information with time dependency, when i create the query over this info object it give me the option to select the key date and it show the accurate information which is lying according to the key date.
my requirement is to show all the records in the report which are there in master data but i am not able to show more then one record cause of the key date, can you please let me know how can i show all the records for any given employee id in the query.

By standard if you create query directly on time dependent info object, it would display the active records as of the report execution (if no key date has been provided). In any case you can only see one record per the info object key, not the history.
In order to fulfill this requirement, you may need to create infoset on this infoobject and select "date from" and "date to" as part of infoset fields.
Then create bex query on the infoset and drag the "date from" and "date to" also into "rows" section of the query (apart from infoobject key, time dependent attributes). This will let you see the history of changes to time-dependent attributes of the infoobject.

How to use a BW Time-dependent Master Data with a UNX

Hello All,
I would like to use a BW master data which is time-dependant with WebIntelligence.
My WebI query is based on a universe (not on a Bex Query). It seems that a relational universe des not support time dependent object.
Has someone found a work-around to use these objects with an UNX ?
BI platform = BI4.0 SP4.

Text data is not displaying at Report level for an Infoobject Item name

Hi All,
Texts data is maintained at Info object level but text information is not displaying at Report level for an object. I have set the property at query level as "Text", but at report level it is displaying key values of the object, not displaying texts information. This problem occured in QA(Quality) system but not replicated in Production system. I have checked all properties at backend and query level and compared the same between QA and Production system didn't find any difference.
Please suggest what might be the cause: at report level it is displaying key values instead of the textual information even text data is mainintained at backend. In production it is displaying textal data for the IO.

Thanks for your valuable information. I have changed the setting under Advanced tab as "Master data" for Access type for results values, but didn't solved the problem still it showing key information for the IO.
In Production system the report displaying texts information for the IO, but in QA its displaying key information. The problem exits only in QA, its working fine in DEv and Production.
As per my understanding might be the issue with Patches will be checking with Basis team on the same.
Please suggest if you have any alternatives to fix the issue.

Time dependent communication data.

Hi,
I would like to create a time dependent communication data in the standard Business Partner transaction ( Tcode - BP ).
Scenario : A customer might call in to inform that for the coming 2 months he'll be away and wants all the communications be sent to a differnet address for this two months.
Standard SAP documentation says that the the Business Address Service which currently handles the address managemnt does not support time dependent data.

Any workarounds to this problem? Anyone who has ever faced such a requirement? Appreciate any ideas on this.

Workarounds, 2 spring to mind both with pros and cons:
1. Maintain the customer in another client (an exact copy of the customer), and then use ALE to time the change. This would allow you to store up to 1 time dependent change in the future. So, when you knew a change was coming you could change the customer in the other client, and then schedule the ALE job to process the idoc on the date that the change was due to take place. The pro of this work around is there is no development to do, the cons are that it means keeping your customer data in another client, and that you can only store one change into the future and its not so user friendly.
2. Build your own time dependent function for communication data. Build a dynpro which called the standard address handling screens and then store the data in the standard address tables linked to your own custom tables for date/time of change etc. Then schedule a batch job every day (or hour, or as required) to look through your scheduled changes and then call a bapi or idoc or function to update the customer with the stored addresses. This should be great from the user friendliness point of view and will allow any number of future changes of address for each customer, but will require some development effort (although not a huge amount as you will be using standard functions a lot).

Reporting Need on Time-Dependent Master Data

Hi Gurus, I have asked this question earlier as well but I did not got satisfactory answer so I thought I should open another thread.
I have this time-dependent Master data infoobject. I see that from the 2 extra fields are added DATETO and DATEFROM. I see in the transfer structure that theyare mapped to ENDDA and BEGDA from an R/3 table.
At the reporting level, the InfoProvider doesn't show these 2 fields. I wanted to see how I can make them show up in the InfoProvider so that I can create report using them. Please help me out on this one. Please let me know if I need to clarify this more.

Immediately I can suggest 2 options ...
1. Have these two fields as attributes of the info object ... this will make them appear on the info provider.
2. Have an infoset built on it which will act as an info provider.
Adn as far as your question goes ... What I am trying to figure out is ... does making an info object as an info provider exposes only the P table ... since P table will not have Date To and Date From? I will have to research as well ...

Time dependant master data

We have Cost Center as a time-dependant master data attribute of 0Employee and a cube with the day and hours for employees such as below.

If we run a query based on the above with a "Key Date" of 2/15/2008 we'll get the below:

However what we're really looking for is a design so that when the query is run it will look at the Work Day and join with the master data for that date range and use the cost center for that day, such as below. Is this possible?

Changing time dependent master data records

Hello All,
I have a time dependent master data infoobject that has 39 million entries.
Now we decided that we no longer need it time dependent.
Hence we want to maintain constant value ( 01.01.1000 to 31.12.9999) going forward.(as changing the object's time dependency will have huge impact)
But for the historical data, we want to fix this and maintain only one record per value which will be the last record.
Can you please provide inputs on how this can be achieved as i tried various combinations of load( load to a copy object taking only last record, changing its valid to to 01.01.1000 and loading back) and its not working.
e.g the value XXX has following entries currently:

The approach u did (load to a copy object taking only last record, changing its valid to to 01.01.1000 and loading back) will not work on Master data because it is not a DSO, with the Proper keys in place, to overwrite all the previously existing data records. This approach will only work if the infoobject is not time dependent and in that case the question u posed will not arise at all .
SOLUTION:
One thing is Inevitable as Prashanth has prescribed, u have to delete the transaction data first at all the places, where and all it was used.
Then just delete the entire master data from the info object and just do a FULL DTP load from the underlying datasource putting a FILTER like "VALID_TO = 31.12.9999" so that only the last record of a particular Value will be loaded. (No need to do a full load from the source because even in the source it might had been the same old Values and might not have been revamped.)
Even for further delta's, it will be safer to maintain this filter at the DTP level if u r not sure of the constant value maintenance at the source.

I have a Time dependent Master Data for 0EMPLOYEE, now I wish to delete only one historical line item from the master data and not the whole data with respect to a Given Employee Number.

now I wish to delete the following record only.
ABC     02.10.2009     30.12.2009
When trying and selecting only the line item it does not allow as ABC is the key and is present in SID table and have transactional data.
Please advice how to proceed with deletion of the incorrect record as this was mistakenly created in master data itself.

Activate time dependent master data

Hello,
we're experiencing problems in activating time dependent master data.
We're using 0UCINSTALLA infoobject, in the P table all records have objvers = A, but in the Q table there are only a few A records, the most of them have objvers = M and changed = I.
So, how can we activate those records?

& after that when I am activating 0mat_plant, it throws an error as follows:
*Diagnosis:*Errors arose when activating InfoObject 0MAT_PLANT. An active version already existed before the activation.
_System Response:_InfoObject 0MAT_PLANT could not be reset to the old active version. Since the generated objects no longer correspond to the old active version, they were reset to inactive.
*Procedure:*The old active version of InfoObject 0MAT_PLANT can no longer be used. Remove the cause of the activation error and activate InfoObject 0MAT_PLANT anew.
Pls help me with this issue ASAP...

BPC - Time Dependent Master Data

Hi,
I wanted to confirm can we maintain time Dependent master data in BPC ?
For Example : For dimension employee I have "Date of compensation change" as an attribute.
Now for cycle it will have different value and for cycle 2 it will have different value.
Cycle 1 = Jan to Jun Cycle 2 Jun to Dec
For cycle the value is Jan 2008 for cycle 2 the value would be July 2008.
Will this overwrite the previous value or it can maintain different Master data for cycl1 and cycle 2?
