i enabled tracing on cluvfy and found that on Node2's .bash_profile of oracle, i had some interactive session env settings script which required a user input (like, select 1 for ThisDB, select 2 for ThatDB). The cluvfy script internally waited for such input while logging as oracle user to node2 and eventually failed (kind of timeout). I removed that entry and it did good.

Fileserver consistency checks failing 0x809909B0
I have a file server with approx. 1.7TB of files which became inconsistent on the 8th of November, and has been unable to complete a consistency check since then.
Consistency checks fail with the error:
The protection agent on <server> was temporarily unable to respond because it was in an unexpected state. (ID 60 Details: Internal error code: 0x809909B0)
I have removed and re-added the server, including deleting the protected data from DPM disk, and reinstalled the DPM agent on the file server, but I still receive the above error when consistency checking.
DPM is System Center 2012 R2 v4.2.1254.0 on Windows Server 2012 R2.
The file server is running Windows Server 2012 R2 also.
KB2919355 is installed on both systems.
I did have Dedup running on the file server, but have un-deduped the drive as part of troubleshooting this issue.
Other servers backed up by this DPM server are being backed up fine, including a HyperV cluster, 2 exchange servers and 2 sharepoint farms.
There are a large number of these errors in the DPMRA log around the time the job fails:

I have also tried the steps in this article with no change:

Currently I have reduced the amount of shares being backed up to just ~400gb of data and I have it in a consistent state, but I need to get the remainder of the data backed up, and I can’t be in a situation where if it becomes inconsistent it can’t run a
successful consistency check again.Hi,

How to resolve "Performance counter registry hive consistency check" failed?
I want to install SQL Server 2008 November CTP Developer Enu. When "System Configuration Check" it shows:
Rule "Performance counter registry hive consistency check" failed.
The performance counter registry hive is corrupted.
And cannot continue installing. How to solve this problem?I've actually solved the problem for my Vista and Win 7 (traditional chinese version).

I have realized that the code 009 is for english language and 004 for chinese traditional and in my "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows

Hence, i've created a new 004 key and copied 009 counter and help contents to this newly created key.
Without restarting the OS, I was able to install smoothly MS SQL server express RC2.
I'm so happy to have overcome this problem.
But just out of curiosity does anyone know the syntax for the language codes? (009 for English, 004 for Chinese and 0404? -

Hi
We have a Windows 2012 server with Exchange 2013, all is working fine except now i am getting issues with the backup.
'Exchange - The application will not be available for recovery from this backup. the consistency check failed for the component Microsoft Exchange Server'
I have checked the database all is fine, i have created a new db and move all mailbox;s over and then removed the old db, i have enabled circular logging and then disabled it, it seems no matter what i do i cannot get a full backup!
i did have to restore the server once and the backups still worked for about 4 days after that and then stopped, i have also tried to remove and re add the backup role!
i am stumped, any advice would be great!Hi
Ok, i created a test db and tried to back it up right away, it failed, i did not add any mailbox's to it either. i got quite a few events in the windows logs, as well as the same event above i got the following:

I am getting the following error when I right click on a package in solution explorer and execute using SQL Server 2014:
Project consistency check failed. The following inconsistencies were detected: package.dtsx. has a different ProtectionLevel than the project.
Luckily my solution only has 10 packages. I have verified and re-verified that everyone is set to dontsavesensitive.
I have verified and re-verified that the solution has the protection level to dontsavesensitive.
What on earth is going on here? I am using windows authentication and have no need for the package to save any sensitive information, nor should there be any.
Can someone please help me out here?
The Degenerate DimensionHi MMiligan,
Just as the error message said, the exactly issue is that the package package.dtsx has a different ProtectionLevel property value than the project.
So please double check the value of project ProtectionLevel property, like DontSaveSensitive, then make sure all packages in the project use the same ProtectionLevel value.
If there is still an error message indicated that some packages use a different value, please right-click the indicated package to select View Code, then make sure there is a line like below(the DontSaveSensitive
protection level corresponds to the value of 0):
DTS:ProtectionLevel="0"
The following similar thread is for your reference:

Before i started to bug TAC, I figured I'd post this here.
Let me know your thoughtsLooks like your package repository has been corrupted. TAC can provide a procedure to recover from this corruption. The following DOC indicates why this can happen and has suggestions on how to avoid these problems from re-occuring.

LMS3.1 psu problem - Consistency check failed for base package ...AG
Hello,
We've got a package updater problem with a LMS3.1 installation.
1. After trying to update RME Device packages from GUI we got a message that LibCommon-v2.3.2 is needed
2. We tried to update LibCommon from CLI using psucli.bat, see below
3. We found a discussion in this forum, simular to this problem with the hint to reinstall the RME, what we did but with no improvement
4. We deinstalled, reboot, did a new installation of LMS3.1. But the problem still exists, with same message. We need the PSU, because most of our devices will be managed after device package update only.
Updating of each package brings warnings with pseudo package names, as ImageAG, MemoryAG and not with hints to real missing packages:
C:\lms\bin>psucli -p rme -install -src C:\install\lm31-updates\ LibCommon
WARNING: LibCommon(2.3.2):Consistency check failed for base package ImageAG
see also the psu.log containing all tryes of package updates
The problem goes a little bit in this direction, but with a new reinstallation as well:
https://supportforums.cisco.com/message/669047#669047
What can we do?
thx for hints, SteffenWhen you install LMS on Windows, there are some recommended steps to take to ensure the installation is a problem free as possible:
Set the per-user and global TEMP and TMP environment variables to short values (e.g. C:\WINDOWS\TEMP)
Disable all anti-virus software
Disable Windows Data Execution Protection (DEP)
Login to the server as a local Adminitrator
Install from original, locally attached media
NEVER abort the installation after the installer says not to
Based on the symptoms described here, I'm guessing at least the first item was not done. TAC has a procedure to recover a bad RME package repository, but if the base installation is problematic, doing so would be moot. If you suspect the installation isn't 100% (beyond the package repository), uninstall, then follow the above steps to reinstall.
If you think the problem is just with the RME package repository, contact TAC, and they can provide you a good, up-to-date repository to jump start things for you. -
LMS3.1 psu problem - Consistency check failed for base package
Hi all,
I tried to install the following packges for CiscoView 6.1.9:
Rtr2900.cv50.v2-0.zip
Rtr3900.cv50.v2-0.zip
but it gives me the following error:
Consistency check failed for base package NGMARShare
There are no Packages to be installed.
I uninstalled all packages and installed them again after I copied these two packages in the packages sources folder but it failed again.
Any one can help?
Thanksthe new package you try to install depends on a package that you don't have
DEPENDENT PACKAGE
=================
DtShare V1.5 (DtShare.cv50.v1-5.zip)
this can be seen from the error message you got
"Consistency check failed for base package DtShare"
my advice is to read the "Release Information" for the packages you try to install
you can find the Release Information in the same page of the download.
hope this helps,
also it's better to update all the device packages if your server have internet connectivity from CS > Software Center > device update. -
Time Dimension Consistency Error in RSRV - Need Help
Hello,
I am having a problem when I run RSRV on our 0ECCS_C01 cube. We have extended the time characteristics to include posting period (0FISCPER3). The only problems RSRV finds is when 0FISCPER is period 0 and 0FISCPER3 is 0. For some reason, these are being flagged as inconsistent. I think this is causing negative performance on our queries because I feel partitioning may not be getting used from some research I've done due to this inconsistency.
Here are the errors I am getting from RSRV:
1. Record with the DIMID 410 contains non-fitting time characteristics
Message no. RSCV053
Diagnosis
The data record of the time dimension table with the described DIMID contains values for time characteristics that do not fit together.
2. This DIMID is used by 9860 records of the fact tables
3. No master data found for characteristic of test described subsequently
Message no. RSCV083
Diagnosis
No master record exists for a characteristic used in the time dimension. The characteristic is one of the characteristics described in the following message with one of the SIDs named there or it is the fiscal year variant that was derived from one of the characteristics.
4. Time characteristic 0FISCPER value 132000000 does not fit with time char 0FISCPER3 val 0
Message no. RSCV054
Diagnosis
The described values of the specified time characteristics do not fit together.
How exactly can I get these time characteristics to "fit" properly? Will it require a data reload?hi,
did u get answer to ur problem.
thanks.

Check the following if they are all ok.
1. Any file system full ,particularly /usr/sap/trans, /usr/sap/SID/<Instance>/work or /sapmnt/global
2. Check Tp connect command. Are you able to connect to database.
3. Check if you have free background processes while doing the transport and Check your spooler consistency with report RSPO1043 or sp12.
If every thing is ok.Kill tp for that particular transport, delete enteries from tables TRJOB and TRBAT and try running again.
Regards
Amit

Hi, I'm tryng to install sql server 2008 in win vista and in the System Configuration Check, item: Performance counter registry hive consistency check has the status FAILED all the others items has PASSED and the setup stops here theonly option is CANCEL. Thus anyone knows the possible problem and resolution to this?
best regardsThere is another post discussing the same issue as yours. The subject of post is:
How to resolve "Performance counter registry hive consistency check" failed?
Please refer that post and see if it resolves the issue. The bottom line is that you need to rebuild the perfmon counter, correct the bad registry key hive, and then you can install SQL Server 2008.
If the reference of post doesn’t resolve the problem, please use “regedit.exe” to export the following registry key hive to a file, and then post the file here.
“HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Perflib”
Once I get the file, I will try to rebuild the perfmon counter for you.
The tool “regedit.exe” usually exports registry keys to files with extension “.reg”. If you post the file, please rename it to the extension “.txt” so that it can reach to the forum.
Thanks.

Setting up a TIME dimension in OBIEE
Hi,
We have an Oracle OLAP Cube built using AWM v10.2.0.3A. We have also created a relational view for this cube (using the OLAP view generator) and are now using this view as a data source in OBIEE v.10.1.3.3.2.
As part of defining the Time dimension in the Business Model Layer of OBIEE repository, we have done all the relevant mappings to the TIME dimension as in the AWM Cube and have marked the dimension as type 'TIME'. Also, for the TIME logical table, we have defined each level (All Years, Year, Month, Quarter, and Day) to have its own chronological key with unique values at all levels. The primary key for our TIME table in the business layer is 'Day'. This level 'Day' is mapped to TIME_DAY_LVLDSC column of the relational view created over the AWM cube. The data type for this column is "VARCHAR". (We basically picked up all the 'Description' columns while creating the view over the cube!)
With this background of the TIME dimension structure, here is the problem scenario:
When we try to create a report with one AGO and one TODATE function defined over the "Day" level (both are defined as logical columns), then the report takes forever to run and never comes back with any data/error even for a handful of rows. We are seeking the forum's help on the following:
1. Is it necessary for the primary key 'Day' of the TIME logical table to be of type DATE? If yes, does this mean that we have to change the column data type in our cube (or select a 'date' type column to be a part of the view and then redo the mapping in the repository) or do we just make a change to the column data type in the physical layer of OBIEE repository?
2. Going by the description above, is there something missing (other than point 1. above) in the setup of the TIME dimension in OBIEE so as to make it usable for Time Series type of calculations/functions?
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks and Regards,
PiyushHi Wildmight,
Thanks a lot for your kind inputs.
1. No, VARCHAR is fine. You should have also defined unique time keys in your time dimension (Quarter Year, Month Year) and check box 'time dimension' in the properties of your time dimension.
-->> The Time dimension that we have defined in the Business layer of the repository is mapped to the respective level columns in the AWM cube and has already got unique members at each level. We are using the "Description (LVLDSC)" columns for each level and have defined the "Description" column to have unique values at each level. A sample data set looks like :
Year:
2007
2008
Quarter:
QUARTER1 2007
QUARTER2 2007
QUARTER1 2008
QUARTER2 2008
Month:
JANUARY 2007
FEBRUARY 2007
JANUARY 2008
FEBRUARY 2008
Day:
Monday, January 1st 2007
Tuesday, January 2nd 2007
So in the above case, do we still need to define a unique key for each level like Quarter Year, Month Quarter, etc.? (Please note that the check box for 'TIME' dimension is checked !)
2. Is your AGO based on TODATE? or your TODATE based on AGO?
-->> I am not sure what this really means - however I can tell you that we have created two new logical columns (in the fact table in Business Layer) : one to show the measure as TODATE for Day level, and the other to show the measure as Day Ago.
So it means that we are trying to create two reports with three columns as below:
- Day Measure on Day Measure Todate (Day)
- Day Measure on Day Measure Day Ago (Day, 1)
I hope I have been able to clarify the problem scenario with this. Does this setup seem correct to you?
Many thanks for your help.

How to use time dimension.
Hi All,
I have to create a report that will show the worth of portfolio based on time frame that is monthly, quarterly, yearly and since inception.
How can i proceed because i have never used time dimension?
Further i have only one column "Date" in the portfolio table that has a corresponding
worth value. SO i need to create the dimension based on this date column.
Pls help me
ThanksIf all you want is to achieve drills from Month, Quarter and Year then treat it as a normal dimension and create the levels. But if you want to do calculations like YTD, QTD and MTD then you need to create a time dimension. Check my blog entry here http://oraclebizint.wordpress.com/2007/11/05/oracle-bi-ee-101332-understanding-todate-and-ago-achieving-ytd-qtd-and-mtd/ for creating a sample time dimension. Also, you need to manually create logical columns corresponding to the levels that you need. So, if you have only a date column then create logical columns Year, Month and Quarter from this column and then create the time dimension.
Thanks,
Venkat
