Time display in iCal - 12 & 24 hour

Has everyone / anyone else noticed the odd display of times in the new iCal?
My system setting is for a 12 hour clock and times that are displayed with minutes (e.g. 7.30) are shown correctly (i.e. 7.30 AM or PM), however 8 PM is displayed as 20 - and not even 20.00. Times on the hour are flipped into the 24 hour clock, times not on the hour display properly. Odd. Roll on OS 10.71

Not seeing the problem on my system, been running Lion for 2 months.

  • Time display goes to minus 22 hours

    This has happened 3 times now in 2 different projects. I'll be in the middle of editing and the time display will suddenly show MINUS 22 or 23 hours and it'll be impossible to reposition the playhead on the timeline. So far the only way I've found to recover is to restart the computer. It's been so random I'm not able to diagnose what kicks it off yet.
    Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else?
    I have all the latest versions of everything; 2012 MBP, working off an external LaCie RAID via TB.

    Despite what it says in the post I have OS X 10.10.2 (Yosemite)

  • Microsoft calender time appears in ical plus 1 hour

    I receive microsoft calender appointments but they appear in iCal plus 1 hour... i.e. appointment of 15.00 goes into iCal at 16.00. Can I correct this? Thanks, John

    There are problems with iCal and Outlook invitations, so it might be worth checking John Maisey's YAI to see if that helps. Alternatively, or maybe first, try turning off time zone support. Also, if all the invitations are from the one source, open one with TextEdit - maybe the originator has their settings incorrect.

  • Times displayed in graphs are 2 hours behind

    Hi,
    Not sure where to adjust this, but all performance graphs within OPSCenter on every asset is two hours behind (also the live graphs) time on the system is configured as CEST. The only time i needed to specify something in relation to a timezone was during installing OPSCenter configuring ASR credentials.
    Cannot find any info in the documentation in regards to this.
    Thanks in advance
    Kind regards

  • How do I change the new iTunes play list total time display from 1.5 hours format to exact display of 1hr 31min 12sec.

    In the new iTunes the play list total time displays in 1.5 hours format, how do I get it to clearly show 1hr 31min 12sec like before, I want the exact time so I can properly fit all the songs when I want to burn this playlist to a disc. You can no longer just click on it to change the display format. Nor can you right click, control click, or change it in options. If anyone knows I would very much appreciate your imput. Thank You.

    Actually, that's the problem ... in iTunes *11* it has stopped working.  I have the status bar displayed, and it is stuck on the 1.x hours format.
    That is very, very strange !!
    I can't get that to happen on mine. It worked in 11.0 and I updated today to 11.0.1 and it's OK.
    I've tried making a new playlist, I've tried changing an old playlist, smart playlist ...... all OK ????

  • Change display time zone in iCal?

    Hello-
    I just moved from the east coast to the west coast. I have Time Zone Support turned on in iCal, and I've set my time zone to Pacific Time in the OS X Date & Time Control Panel. Nevertheless, when I create a new event, it defaults to eastern time and I have to change it, and all my appointment times are displaying with their EDT time in iCal. The time is "correct" -- that is, if I create an event at 12:30 pm it displays in iCal as happening at 3:30 pm EDT -- but it's very annoying. See the screenshot for what I'm talking about. Any help would be very helpful!

  • HT2513 I am using iCal 5.0.1.  I want the time displayed in 24hr format. I would also like to schedule events in 24hr format.  Any suggestions on how to do this?

    I am using iCal 5.0.1.  I would like to have my time displayed in a 24hr format instead of 12hr format.  I have already set my computer to display time in a 24hr format.  How do I do that?

    Hello all,
    I'm still having this issue and would really like any suggestions if anyone knows of any. Basically, I need to view my calendar that doesn't have any events so I can change the password and get any new events for it.
    Because the calendar app does not show the calendar in the calendar listing if it doesn't have any events (not smart btw), I don't have a way to change its information. And attempting to re-subscribe gives me the error that the calendar already exists.
    Is there a way that I can view "all" calendars even if they are hidden or don't have any events scheduled for them so that I can change the login credentials? This issue is on the calendar app version 6.0 build 1645 on my mac os x laptop.
    I know there has to be a way to do this but I just can't seem to find it and googling is not turning up any results. Even searching my my keychain for the login information and the systems preferences has not shown me anything.
    Any help is appreciated. Thanks

  • Ical showing fewer hours to view

    i've tried using ical prefrences to start my day at 8am (I never do much earlier than that!!) despite changing this and the number of hours to view in the prefrences my ical insists in showing me 7 hours I don't need. If i reduce the number of hours to view it does take note of that but then i have to scroll through 7 hours of dead space to get to my apointments - any advice (i've already tried removing the prefrence file and resarting to recreate it - no joy)

    ...I suppose not...i have the same annoying problem since i upgrade to last version of iCal...and another problem is that the "all the day" events are still displayed although i disable the option EVERY TIME i start iCal, and i don't have ANY "all the day" event set...
    Can You help me to solve this problem?

    Greetings,
    First make an iCal backup, File > Export > Archive.
    Remove the following to the trash and restart your computer:
    Home > Library > Caches
    Home > Library > Calendars > Calendar Cache, Cache, Cache 1, 2, 3, etc. (Do not remove Sync Cache or Theme Cache)
    Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.ical (There may be more than one of these. Remove them all.)
    __NOTE: Removing these files will remove any shared (CalDAV) calendars you may have access to. You will have to re-add those calendars to iCal > Preferences > Accounts.
    Once the computer is back up and running open iCal and test.
    Hope that helps.

  • Image time display discrepancies between product

    The following is an example of a problem I've observed in many places in my photo collection.
    I have two files taken 8 seconds apart in April 2009 with a Nikon D70 shooting .jpg format.  The files were subsequently imported from the camera memory card using a card reader and Photoshop Elements.  PSE was also used to add tags to these files.
    Since then I've acquired Photoshop CS 5 Extended.  The other day I was looking at these files in both PSE and Bridge.  PSE shows the time of these two files to be the same (as it should), however, it adds an hour to the actual time the image was taken to adjust for the difference between the time set in the camera (it was Pacific Time) and the time zone where my computer is now located (Mountain Time).  When I look at the time on the images in Bridge, one of them shows the correct time in Pacific Daylight Time, but the other is showing the corresponding UTC time value, 7 hours later than the local time.  Looking at the file list in Window Explorer shows the "Date" and "Date taken" values to be the same as that shown by Bridge.
    There were two other images taken shortly before the first one mentioned above and they show the correct local time.  The two files that followed the UTC timed file also show a UTC time value.  Then following that the next file shows local time and then there are a number of files showing UTC for time.
    If I look at the two files with Windows Notepad so that I can see some of the text strings in the exif data portion of the file, the first file has a couple different places where time is shown in the format "...hh:mm:ss-07:00" and the other in the format "...hh:mm:ssZ".  The time value is preceded by the date in yyyy:mm:dd format. It would appear that Bridge is reading these values and displaying them, while PSE is getting some other time value from the file. Here is the actual string from the file that displays in UTC:
         exif:DateTimeOriginal="2009-04-05T17:08:10Z"   exif:DateTimeDigitized="2009-04-05T17:08:10Z"
    and for the file that displays time in local time the string is:
         exif:DateTimeOriginal="2009-04-05T10:08:02-07:00"   exif:DateTimeDigitized="2009-04-05T10:08:02-07:00"
    I've observed this same discrepany with files taken more recently with a Nikon D700 and images in NEF format.  I think I can reasonably eliminate the possibility that this is a camera caused discrepancy.  I suspect that some program is actually reading the local time and offset, then writing that back to the file as a UTC time value.  The behaviors of PSE and Bridge seem to point to the fact that the two programs are extracting time from different fields / strings in the file.  At this point the occurrance of the problem seems random, at least I've not been able to discern a pattern and reproduce it at will.
    Although this is not a catastrophic problem, it does cause confusion.  I've also looked at these files in Lightroom, which on initial inspection appears to get the same time values as Bridge.  The down side of this is that files in Lightroom are sorted into time order, which may not be the order they were taken.  Although I recognize that these products may not have been design for complete compatibility, it sure would be nice if they all treated time in the same way.

    I believe I now have more information about how PSE works and therefore need to slightly correct my original post.  It looks like PSE takes what ever time it finds for the photo's "time taken," converts it to UTC, then converts it to the local time on which PSE is running.  That will explain why two images taken seconds apart, with on having time coded as local time plus UTC offset and the other having an absolute UTC time, display the time taken in local time.  On the other hand, Bridge (and Lightroom) just displays what ever time it finds in the file.

  • Create an absolute time display that can be paused and scrolled

    I have 3 waveform graphs that are scrolling by as the data is collected.  They represent past events that can be paused, scrolled back, and printed.  It represents 8 hours of data.  I do not have a time stamp associated with the data going into the graphs at this time.  I dont want to reinvent the Field Point code that is gathering the data just tweak the Host program that monitors the data (this would require flying to the customer site).  I need to have a absolute time clock that will keep up with the data that is scrollong by and pause when the graphs are paused (that is the easy part).  Here is my challenge.  I am using a property node from all three graphs.  I have the x scale-range-all elements tied together so they will all scroll together with 1 x scroll bar.  I need to be able scroll the absolute time clock with the other information.
    Any ideas?

    Hi,
    You can use the Get date/time function to get time when the data is recorded. However be advised that this time would only be close to the actual time of data acquisition.  It will not be the actual time when the data was acquired.
    As for scrolling the time display, I think yout best bet would be to tie in a  time stamp (Get date/time function ) with the Y values that you are already acquiring. Then when you scroll to a particular point in the graph, you can programmatically unbundle the waveform at that point to get the time value.

  • [SOLVED] Incorrect time displayed in my system

    Hey Archers,
    I have trouble correct time being displayed in my system.
    My BIOS time is:
    May 18 2012 08:39:21 PM IST
    Date command displays
    Sat May 19 02:09:59 IST 2012
    Clearly the time displayed by date command is localtime+05:30 (Asia/Kolkata), when I expect it to be just localtime.
    How do I correct this?
    I dont dual boot and have just Arch installed on my machine.
    And my /etc/rc.conf has this:
    HARDWARECLOCK="UTC"
    TIMEZONE="Asia/Kolkata"
    Please correct if my understanding is wrong, but is this how it works?
    When I say HARDWARECLOCK=UTC and TIMEZONE=''Asia/Kolkata",
    It assumes, hardwareclock, time displayed by BIOS, is infact UTC, and, since the user is interested in timezone, +0530, it adds 0530 to hardware clock.
    Thanks,
    Nachiket.

    Hey Tectu,
    The wiki article on Time was indeed splendid. It had all the information I needed. Thank you.
    Trilby,
    You were right, my hardware clock was on local time.
    So this is what I did to set it correct.
    1. Set the HARDWARECLOCK to "localtime" in /etc/rc.conf
    HARDWARECLOCK="localtime"
    TIMEZONE="Asia/Kolkata"
    2. Reboot the system
    3. Set the systemclock to UTC by doing a -0530 (minus 05 hours 30 minutes)
    # date `date -d "-05 hours -30 mins" +%m%d%H%M%Y`
    4. Copy the system clock value to hardware clock
    # hwclock --systohc
    5. Edit the /etc/rc.conf to set HARDWARECLOCK back to UTC
    HARDWARECLOCK="UTC"
    TIMEZONE="Asia/Kolkata"
    6. Reboot the system.
    And yes, now my system clock displays correct time
    Just setting HARDWARECLOCK to "localtime" also worked. But since I the beginners guide recomments "UTC" I did all this.
    Marking the thread as SOLVED.
    Regards,
    Nachiket.

  • Default time frame for ICAL events

    Ever since I upgraded to Lion, the default time frame for ICal events has been set to "entire day".  Is there any way to change this?

    Hi,
    If you add a time to the event description, like "meeting  11am tomorrow", it should create an event (with the title "meeting" on tomorrows date at 11am with a duration of 1 hour.
    Best wishes
