Time field format

Hello,
please, what should be format of field in order to record only time in e.g., format HH:MM AM(PM).
Namely, I have formated that field as datetime2(0) but, while in ADD Page of WEB aplikation I can enter time on desired way, in SQL Server table I can see this:
2015-02-26 13:50:00.0000000 (I need only 13:50) to be in a field!
How to get it having on mind that based on values in two fields, IN/OUT I must perform DateDiff function in order to calculate interval of time. (DateDiff(HH,In,OUT))
Should I format it on some other way, like text or?What about 24 hrs system?
thanks
Thanks

Hi,
please, what does this stands for:
SELECT right(convert(VARCHAR(25), TimeOut, 100), 7)
(why numbers 100 i.e., 7)?
and, what does this stands for:
SELECT right('0' + convert(VARCHAR(5), DateDiff(s, TimeIn, TimeOut) / 3600), 2) + ':' +
right('0' + convert(VARCHAR(5), DateDiff(s, TimeIn, TimeOut) % 3600 / 60), 2)
I meant leading part of expression: '0' (to skip showing days?)
Thanks

  • Date/Time field format not wysiwyg

    I have a date field in my form that I formatted as m/d/yyyy hh:mm.  I thought that because it formats that field in that way my script would get passed down that way however it is not.  I want to manipulate it so the value is in the format I want it to be....
    I enter this in the date/time field: April 1, 2011 1:40PM
    When I click out of the field and I see: 4/1/2011 13:40
    Then I have a script that uses this field to make the file name but because I have a comma in there it will not save, if I take the comma out it will save.  So the main question is how do I format my field to pass down the value that I am seeing not the value that I am typing in.  You will notice I have a replace in there but I can't account for the comma because it reads it as part of the syntax.
    // Get the field value
    var dtentered = getField("datetime").value;
    //replace any odd characters that will not allow the file to save
    var fdt = dtentered.replace(/[!@#$%^&*()+=|\:;"'<>?/{}]/g,"_");
    // Specify the folder
    var fldr = "/c/WO Completed/";
    // Determine the full name and path
    var fp = fldr +  fdt + ".pdf";

    Thanks for the response...I'm not sure that I understand what you mean back-slash...I went ahead and did this but now it is giving me an odd file name
    // Get the field value
    var dt = getField("datetime").value;
    var mydt = escape(dt);
    //replace any odd characters that will not allow the file to save
    var fdt = mydt.replace(/[!@#$%^&*()+=|\:;"'<>?/{}]/g,"_");
    // Specify the folder
    var fldr = "/c/WO Completed/";
    // Determine the full name and path
    var fp = fldr + fdt + ".pdf";
    Returns a file name as
    April_201_2C_202011_201_3A40PM.pdf
    I was looking more for
    4_1_2011_13_40.pdf
    or
    April_1_2011_1_40PM.pdf

  • Issue: format / "language" of current Date (in date/time field), javascript only

    Hi,
    I have 2 date fields in my form, which should display the date in differnt format. (yyyy.mm.dd /  dd-mm-yyyy)
    To get the current date I use java script only
    Formular1.p1.date_YYYYmmDD::initialize - (JavaScript, client)
         var date = new Date();
        this.rawValue  =  date.toLocaleDateString();
    My first problem is (red): I get date in English, but I want it in a different language. As it was set in form settings
    My second issue is: how can I format a date/time-filed (not a text field) in javascript with a specific pattern on init-event?
    It seems my code in init-event overrides the pattern configuration of the date/time-field
    Here is my form, if anyone want to check it:
    https://acrobat.com/#d=zeOMyj9MhBdYbVWk8S1pHw

    Hi,
    I think both problems are the same, when setting a date/time field using the rawValue the format always has to be yyyy-mm-dd, if you use any other format the value is just treated as text and displayed without formatting.
    var date = new Date();
    this.rawValue = util.printd("yyyy-mm-dd", date);
    You can also set the formattedValue if you have a date in the correct format.
    var date = new Date();
    var currentLocale = xfa.resolveNode("#localeSet.#locale").name;
    var dateFormat = "date("+currentLocale+"){DD MMM, YYYY}"
    this.formattedValue = util.printd(dateFormat, date, true)
    This code assumes the display pattern is date{DD MMM, YYYY}
    The date format specification is in the XFA Spec http://partners.adobe.com/public/developer/xml/index_arch.html

  • How to show a time field in a form portlet

    Hi,
    I am not familiar with PL/SQL and I was wondering how I could show a time field on a form portlet.
    I have a date column in my database that stores the time and date together, but I do not know how to separate them into date and time fields. I also do not know how to concatenate them when a user inserts a new record, or how to query on a date alone.
    At present, the user has to type the date and time following this format mask hh:mi am DD/Mon/RR
    I also have a problem with one of my hidden id fields. I have set the default to a sequence.nextval (#qtc_app.seq_visitor.nextval) and then hidden it since
    it is irrelevant to my users. However, I can no longer use the query function since the sequence is always generating a new value. How would I only generate
    a new sequence no. when a user inserts a record??
    Thank you!
    cheers, Kim

    Hi,
    Each colunm in the form has a format mask associated with it. For the date column make the format mask like this DD-MON-RR HH.MI. This will show the date along with the hours and minutes.
    Thanks,
    Sharmila

  • How can I query on a time field??

    Hi All,
    I have a time field (base table field) in my form. I use a format mask of HH24:MI for that field.
    If i put in "%10:00" in that field and query, the query returns rows correctly. But I canot ask my user to put in a "%" each time he/she queries. I have to do it from the form.....
    How can I do this programatically..I mean how do I write it in pre-query?
    Thanks in advance...
    Sowmya.

    Hi,
    Thanks for your reply...
    Unfortunately I already tried that..
    The problem was to compare only the time portions . And as soon as the user put in say "12:00" in the time field, the system defaulted it to 01-SEP-2002 12:00:00 .And it compared this to the database value which is wrong...
    I solved the problem by creating a non-base table item and then writing code in pre-query using set_block_property etc...and it worked !!
    Thanks for you response once again..
    Sowmya.
    How about using the Set_block_property(Default_where) built in? check the online help.

  • Problem with Date/Time field in Adobe LiveCycle

    I am trying to create a form that has a check-in and check-out dates. I want the user to enter those dates and then have the form automatically compute how many nights the user intends on staying.
    I have two fields, CHECKIN and CHECKOUT, set up as text fields. My third field, NIGHTS, has the following script to do the calculation:
    var strStart = CHECKIN.rawValue
    var strEnd = CHECKOUT.rawValue
    if(strStart.length && strEnd.length)
    var dateStart = util.scand("mmm d, yyyy",strStart);
    var dateEnd = util.scand("mmm d, yyyy",strEnd);
    var diff = dateEnd.getTime() - dateStart.getTime();
    var oneDay = 24 * 60 * 60 * 1000;
    var days = Math.floor(diff/oneDay);
    this.rawValue = days;
    else
    this.rawValue = 0;
    NOW...this is fine if the user inputs a four-digit year. If not, it's trouble. SO, what I want to do is change the CHECKIN and CHECKOUT fields to the date/time field so they select the date off the pop-up calendar.
    When I make the changes, I can't get the script to work for the NIGHTS field.
    CAN ANYONE HELP THIS NEWBIE?

    Make sure the format of the date strings provided by the calendar is what you are expecting. Or use the "formattedValue" for the input strings.

  • How to get calendar icon to show again when entering data in date/time field.

    Hello,
    First time posting on this site.  I am fairly new to using SQL Server Express.  I created a split-database in MS Access 2010 and have successfully migrated over the backend database to SQL Server Express.  When I was using the FE forms in
    Access, I use to be able to see a calendar icon where I could select the month and day in the date/time field.
    I compiled the FE forms to binary format .accde so that I could distribute this to the users and they couldn't change my forms. After migrating the tables to SQL Server express for the BE, I am no longer able to see the calendar icon when I try to enter
    in data in the date/time field.   Same for the original .accdb file before the binary conversion to .accde.
    How do I get the calendar icon back to show on the form when a user is entering in data?  I appreciate any assistance I can get. Thank you!
    Thai

    Hello Cheer,
    I don't believe the table changed when migrating from Access.  I had two tables before the migration, one was for the SwitchBoard Manager and the other table was for the database table.  I used the Switchboard to navigate to different menus, such
    as the Main Form, Power Form, Server Form, etc.  Let me know if I can provide any other information to help you narrow this down for me.
    Thank you for your assistance.

  • Date Field Formatting

    Hi All,
    I'm back already! Learning Flash is beginning to get to me
    again so I returned for yet more help!
    I've written the following AS code to get tomorrow's date . .
    // Calculates today's date and tomorrow's date
    var dToday:Date = new Date();
    dToday.getDate()
    trace("today: " + dToday) //today's date
    myD = dToday.getDate() + 100; // plus one day
    var dTomorrow:Date = new Date();
    dTomorrow.setDate(myD)
    trace("new: " + dTomorrow) //tomorrow's date
    var strDate:String = new String();
    var strDate = String(dTomorrow);
    trace("String: " + strDate);
    The strDate string returns the following value . . . "Tue Jul
    11 16:19:57 GMT+0100 2006".
    That is all well and good but I want to convert it into the
    following format for comparison with another field . . .
    "200607111619" which is basically the same value in the following
    format . . . "yyyymmddhhmm".
    Does the only way of doing this involve using parsing logic
    to break down the original string and then reconstruct it in the
    required format using variables from the broken down original
    string?
    I have tried looking at the Date Field object notes in my
    book but it does not give me anything as regards this programming
    requirement. The only thing I can find that might suit this purpose
    is string parsing logic. Am I right or is there an easier way to
    set a date field format?
    Any help would as always be much appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Kevin.

    I'm working on an application which requires a valid Voucher
    Number to proceed. The Voucher number is based on a combination of
    'date/time/no of items' (e.g. 20060711095802 which is today at
    09:58 (on a 24 hr clock) for 2 (02) items).
    As this date this date/time Voucher Number logic is
    essentially sequential, in that each subsequent Voucher Number will
    be greater than the last good known Voucher Number entered into the
    application (which is already stored in a variable field for
    comparison). But it must also be less than tomorrow's date, for
    which the Voucher Number would always be tomorrow's date (e.g.
    20060712 at 00:00 hrs for 00 items, thus giving 20060712000000).
    This is the value that I'm trying to ascertain from the date field
    logic.
    It would thus be really handy for comparison if I could just
    format tomorrow's date and time in the format yyyymmddhhmm and just
    add '00' to the end of the string.
    I don't like the idea of using the milliseconds value as it
    will be necessary then to convert the Voucher Number entered to a
    date field for comparison.

  • How to compare Date in the TextField or DateTime with Date/Time field?

    Hi All,
    I am facing an issue with respect Date comparinson. I tried to look into entire discussions but failed to get the answer.
    My issue is: I wanted to comparet Date/time field value with Date value which is in TextField.
    The functionality of my form is:
    I have dropdown list which lists the registered customer ids binded to XML Datasource. On selection of the customer id from the dropdown I am displaying customer registration date in the TextField or say Date/Time field as below code in dropdown change event.
    RegistrationDetails.PurchaseEntry.txtRegDate.rawValue = regDataNode.CREATION_DATE.value; (this is TextField control)
    In form I have an Date/Time field in which use will select the date of item purchase. In the validation part I want to make sure that, the purchase date selected in Date/Time field must be greater than the Customer Registraiton Date. I able to compare if the customer selects the date from two different Date/Time fields. But how to compare the dates which one is in Date/Time field and Date is in TextField?
    I have tried using Num2Date and Date2Num with "YYYY-MM-DD"  format to compare but not succeed!
    Can you guys help me in this? Thanks in advance
    Regards.

    Hi,
    Yes, I am able to display the date which I have assigned to the text box. In the message box it show the value as '31/05/2009', since in this format i am assigining the date in the text box.
    Here is the code which I am assigning the value:
    RegistrationDetails.PurchaseEntry.txtRegDate.rawValue = regDataNode.CREATION_DATE.value;
    Do I need to change the format while assigning value in text box?
    You have told that, you have attached your test form, nothing is the reply. Can you repost the file?

  • How to prevent user to enter data in "Date/Time Field"?

    Hi folks,
         Back after long time to the forums, where I get answers which are helpful in making me good at utilizing designer.
         I am trying to validate the "Date/Time Field" using JavaScript but couldn't get a proper RegEx expression for various invalid user input formats. If anyone can help me out in finding a proper script that would Great.
         My script grown bigger and bigger to accepting invalid dates, but felt like hardcoding. So, instead I decided why can't we prevent a user to enter data into "Date/Time Field" and use only calendar dropdown. Is there is a way to do this?
    find my sample testing docment
    https://acrobat.com/#d=mYXkrhO2txuEesCfmvxNXg
    Thanks in Advance,
    Rajesh

    Hi Rajesh,
    I don't think there is a way of stopping the user from using the keyboard to enter a date.  You can use the following script in the change event to stop them typing a date but they will still be able to paste a date in.
    if (xfa.event.change.length === 1)
    xfa.event.change = "";
    This code works because if the date is selected from the calendar dropdown then the date xfa.event.change value will be the whole date and therefore longer than one character.
    I couldn't access your sample but if you were to set an display picture for the date field to something other than date{YYYY-MM-DD} then a valid date will have a formattedValue that is different than the rawValue.

  • How do it force a user to enter a time in a date time field??

    I am new to live cycle, not to acrobat pro. I must say live cycle is pretty cool and i may just switch to live cycle forever...
    But i can not figure this out. I have a HR form. I need to make the time of occurence field, required, validate and wont let you move on until you enter a time.
    Right now it functions as required, it shows a custom message, but the user can enter garbage text and skip through. How do i set up this field where the user can only enter a time and not skip through??
    I am sure this is rather easy, i just dont know where to start.. Thanks in Advance

    Hi Paul:
    That completely makes sense... Only problem what would or could the javascript be??
    I have already inserted some for the save as and print buttons sucessfully
    BTW in my form the time/date field is selected and to format to show time only. In my other date fields is does show a calendar after you hit the little arrow and the user can still insert garbage.
    What i would ultimately want is for the user not to insert garbage and forcing them to insert a time in the time field.
    It is possible that i forgot or missed a step being as im new to Live Cycle.

  • How do I add a time field to a dynamic list and form?

    I'm trying to create an update form that logs when an action was taken. Among the fields are one for the date and one for the time, but I've not been able to get the time field to display or enter data correctly.
    I've set the time format in the ADDT preferences (database date and time format is yyyy-mm-dd and HH:mm:ss and screen format is dd/mm/yyyy and HH:mm). When I create the list or the form using the wizard, there is no option to display the field as a time.
    In step 3 of 4 in the Dynamic List Wizard, the 'Display as' options are: text, numeric, double and date. Choosing date for the time field gives me a display as though it was a date (I get '00/00/0000'). I have the same problem with generating a Dynamic Form in that there is no option to display a time, only a date.
    Am I able to do this using the wizard, or is there another way that I'm, missing? Thanks for any help.

    If those date/time fields are only needed for logging purposes then follow Günter's instructions.
    If you need to be able to edit those two fields and have their values displayed properly then there are several steps you should take.
    First open the page that uses the Dynamic List behavior and make sure that all date and time fields are configured to display as dates. Then open the page with the dynamic form and click on "Manage Dynamic Form Wizard" in the Developer Toolbox. Configure your date and time fields to submit as dates. Then go to the Server Behaviors panel and double click on "Validate Form". You should now have 3 date/time options available under Validation Format: Date, Datetime, and Time. Configure each field as needed.
    This will ensure that date and time fields are saved in the proper format so that when you view their values they will be displayed properly, that is dates will be displayed as dates and times as times.
    There are also several additional server formats available that are accessible through the Bindings panel that you might want to experiment with.

  • How to create a Date or time field that automatically saves current date or time?

    hello,
    i want to know that how to create a Date/Time field that automatically shows current Date/Time when .pdf form is opened.
    also want to how to stop user to give input in Date/Time field
    currently im putting a Date field but it is accepting user input.
    hoping for quick response
    Thanks in advance!

    You can place the below code in the initialize event of the field to display the current date and time.
    Set the language to FormCalc.
    You can play around the formats to get the desired format of date and time.
    if($.rawValue eq null or $.rawValue eq "") then
    $.rawValue = Concat(Num2Date(Date(), "MM/DD/YYYY")," ", Num2Time(Time(), "h:MM:SS A"));
    endif
    You can not restrict the input area in Date time field instead you can validate the input while existing the field.
    (OR) set the field to either readOnly or protected mode.
    Thanks
