Time frame to fix firefox 4

Question

Have been a big fan of FF for a number of years and have tried to use the new FFv4 for over a week. While not a fan of the new look I could live with the change if it was actually faster and stable. On my mac I have problems opening firefox and a number of add-ons/plug-ins no longer work correctly - problems are especially problematic with security software that I consider to be very important.
Have decided to give up on FF and now use Safari, which I've always hated, as FFv4 has too many problems.
While not a technical person I'm assuming these issues will be solved in time so plan to go back to FF at some point as FF has been a good browser until this point. How long do these type of things normally take to be fixed - a month? 6 months?

Unfortunately, the person who spilled the water is probably correct. Water-logged electronics needs to be dealt with immediately. The problem is that water tends to leach out salts from PC boards and other components. This in turn sets up an environment that encourages fine metallic whiskers to electroplate over time between adjacent PC board traces or component leads.
Whether or not the other person should pay for the accident is a separate issue, and not easily answered. There is resposibility on both sides here. Your daughter learned an object lesson that it important to protect her property and not let bottles of water near the computer. The [ex?]friend learned an object lesson about being careful and respectful near other people's property. Also, remember accidents are, in fact, accidents. The friend virtually certainly did not intend to dump water on the computer. Stuff happens.
It would be kind for the friend to make at least an overature at helping your daughter defray the expenses, however it would be unfair to expect the friend to bear the high cost of all the repairs due to your daughter's lack of responsibility in seeking a prompt repair.
You might want to look into your home-owner's insurance policy. You may find that if you were the person who purchased the MacBook for your daughter, that you may have some coverage against the accidental damage - even if the MacBook were damaged while in use at the dorm.
